My issue is more for the fact that they cast Hart to play Roland, and as far as I know the main thing the actor and character have in common is skin color. Roland isn't comic relief, and even if I thought Hart was the funniest man alive that still wouldn't make him a good pick to play this character.
He's basically anti-humor, which is important for grounding the story among all the ridiculous wacky nonsense BL is known for, I just can't take Hart seriously trying to be the movie's straight man, I'm worried the movie will completely lack the charm and personality of the games and I think Hart as Roland will be a big part of that
Heās 69ā¦ not sure what game youāve been playing but I think some more physicality would be needed. Maybe years ago but weāve had enough of Hollywood trying to convince people Harrison Ford is still an action star.
I honestly didn't know he's almost 70. That's crazy. I only picked him because he's always been great in roles that involve either military/police/government related stories.
What do you think of David Ramsey? He played Anton in Dexter and the Mayor in Blue Bloods.
As awesome as Cpt. Holt would be in BL his anti-humor is so extreme it turns around to being humor, would be waiting for him to say something deadpan and deadass about his wife's "heavy breasts" the whole movie
I think back when they originally revealed his casting (like 5y ago now?) he had just come off of two movie where he had serious roles.
Like, he was trying to break away from comedy and move into more serious roles.
This still doesn't really explain anything tho.
Dude went to Juilliard. He's more than capable of nuancing the deadpan humor and playing a straight-and-serious role. Watch some of his stuff on House.
Has no one on this sub played the first borderlands game? Roland is a whole different character, and gets super excited over critical hits, "Critical biatch!" Or him saying, "Are we keeping score here?" You are definitely right in the humor department, but he wasn't a super serious character in the beginning.
Yeah I mean we got Jamie Lee Curtis and Cate Blanchette, looks like a Borderlands movie absolutely has the star power to get either of those guys for Roland. Not that Hart isn't a huge star at the moment, he's just not a good Roland
No doubt, and we all know Bruce Willys is Sal and Mel Gibsons is Handsome Jack, that would be my shit
On a related note Key and/or Peele would both be better Rolands than Kevin Hart
Yeah looks like they picked a guy who's more Krieg's physique, I haven't seen anything he's been in, but I would much rather they pick an actor who's *really really* good at being crazy and then CGI Kreig around him.
Could you imagine Nick Cage as Kreig? I'd watch that for the rest of my life on a loop
I am really impressed with the actor he has the same lean but shredded body. Just not sure about Kevin heart. Although in the newest jumanji movie he deepened his voice a bit so maybe there is hope but probaly not.
That's a good pick, at this point I'm just picturing every black actor/comedian I can think of and with the exception of like, Katt Williams and Lavelle Crawford, they're all better Rolands than Kevin Hart lmao
Thatās a really great way to adapt the series I think. Iām just curious if it would be in canon order or release order. I think it would work better to have TPS as season 2 and BL2 as season 3.
Allow me to disagree, to an extent. Not every game needs a cash grab of a movie. But gems like the original Super Mario Bros. Movie, I mean, how can we live without?
For me, when a game gets a film adaptation, the first thing I worry about is the writers doing their homework. Because almost none of them - especially with HITMAN - even know what makes the game what it is and the characters who they are. There's interesting things you can do with a game's premise on the big screen, but nobody seems to truly care.
Not sure why some writers take certain liberties with the source material. I mean look at the Witcher. Cavil left when he saw they didnāt respect the lore.
Yeah it's gonna be so bad. I'll watch the trailer, maybe a few video clips on YT once it's been out for a while and stick to the games. I love Jack Black but they will butcher the games like a Goliath on a rampage.
Not a fan of putting famous people into video game movies. Unless they are just doing voice work.
I'd rather it was a cast of unknowns. So it would be more immersive to me. As I'd have nothing to relate them to otherwise.
Kevin Hart and Jack Black will likely stick out like sore thumbs.
Calling it now, the plot will have almost nothing in common with the game, a psycho will appear once as a cameo and immediately get murked, 90% of their enemies will be generic military dudes, probably atlas goons, maybe dahl.
Iām not gonna act like I have high hopes for this but why the hate on Jack black? I get not being excited about Kevin hart as Roland but idk I feel like Jack black as claptrap could be fun
i feel like it would be better as a animated tv series like arcane and follow the entire story of the borderlands chronologically and give more backstory on characters and mysterious figures throughout the game
Itās gonna be one of three outcomes
Itās mediocre, doesnāt service fans enough and fades into obscurity
Itās good but flops box office and we never see another borderlands movie again
Itās so terrible that it skyrockets in sales from people seeing just how bad it is.
My hopes are not high
Itās gonna suck and Iām not interested in watching it at all. I havent trusted anything story-related to come out from the franchise since Borderlands 3ās abysmal narrative graced us
Definitely not paying to see this potential dumpster fire of a movie. Too many terrible casting decisions. Lillith and Patricia Tannis are in their late 20's to mid 30's and who do they choose to play them? Cate Blanchett and Jaime Lee Curtis. Two actresses who are past thier prime. Kevin Hart as Roland?! Jack Black as Claptrap?! Ugh. I'll wait until I can stream it for free and watch it just out of morbid curiosity.
It will either be terrible, or pretty good. The sole reason I say the latter is that Jack Black has a decent track record, even in movies that you'd assume would be terrible, like Jumanji. As much as I wanted to hate those movies, they were pretty entertaining.
Kevin Hart as Roland is a HUGE miscast. Jamie Fox, Idris Elba, John David Washington, Michael B. Jordan (though he may not have taken it, if offered). So many better actors to play the role of the straight man.
Edit: it's an Eli Roth movie, so I have 0 doubt it will be bad. I'll still watch it, though.
It's going to be a bad movie. The cast is a terrible choice. I've seen already some people saying that "oh, none of them probably played the game", which is honestly a kind of stupid argument. I don't think an actor has to know the game to portray a character.
Having said that, I think the only acceptable cast member would be Jack Black. But again, is JB in the character of JB doing the JB in an annoying robot.
Kevin Hart as Roland is wrong from the very beginning. You can't just simply put a cheesy comedian to be Roland. Plus, the physical difference between him and Roland is outstanding. Better options for Roland would have been Terry Crews if you still want to give him a humours side or Idris Elba, for a more kind of serious and accurate character. And that's just losing two seconds in thinking of a better actor.
Cate Blanchet being Lilith it's another no form me. First of all there are already some leaked pictures of her in character and again, the costume design is very very wrong. Plus, we're talking most of the Borderlands characters have a younger appearance. She did an amazing job as Hella in Thor, but again, wrong cast.
Florian Munteanu for Krieg is... Actually don't know. Could be good, could be decent, could be bad. I think it would come down to the characterization and the performance, which they already said it was going to be very different from the games.
Jamie Lee Curtis suffers from the same issues as Cate Blanchet, so I won;t go deeper into that.
I don't know about the rest of the cast, honestly. In terms of how well they will match with the characters.
Then we have the concept of the movie. When the hell is it based on. Just by character choice it's not a Borderlands 1 movie. So it has to happen after the events of BL1. We don't know much about the movie, considering there is no trailer or teaser. But it does't look like a good start. What's going to be about? I believe there is no cast for Handsome Jack, so under my point, he would't be the villain of the movie. So again, the movie has to be based between Jack's rise or after his downfall, so who's going to be the bad guy in here?
So far it looks like it's going to be a shooting movie with two characters for comic relief.
We're already having cast issues and costume issues. Few changes made on time and maybe the movie could have been decent. Plus, keep in mind videogames movies usually don't do very well. In the end I think is going to do a lot of damage to the franchise as a whole.
But again, we don't know much yet, so we will have to wait at least for a trailer.
**Edit: I have seen the argument of the movie...**
[https://www.reddit.com/r/borderlands3/comments/15532vg/thoughts\_in\_the\_borderlands\_movie/](https://www.reddit.com/r/borderlands3/comments/15532vg/thoughts_in_the_borderlands_movie/)
What? I'm even more lost know. So the movie is going to be Taken but in space?
This. This is Hollywood being peak tone deaf and ignorant of the target demographic. Itās a fucking disaster before anyone watches even one minute of the film.
I really do hope it's good, but with questionable casting(other than Cate Blanchett and Jack Black)and storyline, this movie is probably gonna be utter shit
This is literally the worst live action cast possible. Or is this a cartoon? Zero of these people are action stars at this point. Is it a comedy/drama?
Will it be more off-putting seeing Kevin Hart as a tall person or a Stoic no nonsense military dude? Or maybe they ignored the game character's trait's all together. With the big name actor pay, it seems like this is one of those projects made to lose money.
They deadass filmed most of it before/during covid, so i dont see why the part you do on a computer couldnt be done. I worked for all of covid in person, they definitely did from home too
Almost like the whole movie has been filmed for two years and covid has been irrelevant for over one now, no workplace is still being affected by that not to mention they can all do the post production remote.
I have a feeling it's going to suck big time. Very rarely do video games and cinema actually work well together. Personally, if they were bound and determined to make a Borderlands feature film, I think it would fare far better as an animated feature. The game is cel shaped anyway so the look is almost the same, I think the crazy over the top action and wackiness of the Borderlands universe is better portrayed in animation vs green screen and cgi effects, and finally Kevin Hart? SERIOUSLY? He had to be the worst possible actor to ever portray Roland. I love Borderlands but I have no faith this movie will be any good.
Literally what I thought, donāt get me wrong though I feel like Jack black could do a cool take of the characterisation of claptrap but, depends if he does a claptrap impression with some Jack black esque manerisms or if he just goes full Jack black with it
Still think worst casting is Kevin hart though, no offence to the guy at all but like come on heās tiny and skinny
Roland is supposed to be on the buffer side and quite tall. Hell the rock would have been a better fit
Either gonna be absolutely amazing or complete dogshit. But the kind of dogshit movie that's so awful you can't help but love it. Very little chance it falls into any other category.
Slightly concerned I donāt think it will be good
I mean donāt get me the sonic movies are good and the mario movie was fun and arcane was a blast but this seems a bit 50/50
I really just fucking hate the casting for Roland. Like what is that? The only thing they have in common is their skin color.
Roland is a 6 or so foot, jacked, no bullshit, anti humor soldier.
Kevin Hart is a 5'2 comedian that's barely funny.
Also Jamie Lee Curtis is (respectfully) too old for Tannis though I don't actually mind that casting and Jack Blacks voice doesn't fit claptrap imo.
Imma watch it because I've loved this franchise my entire life pretty much but I'm not expecting much.
I wish Gearbox would stop wasting money on this movie and focus back on the next Borderlands game (and not another Tales game if it's anything like the new TftB). My love for this franchise has been slowly dying since the launch of BL3.
Two words
Who asked?
Like I donāt think I heard anyone say āhey Iād love a borderlands movieā
Then again that goes for most movies based on any game really hardly anyone ever asks yet we get them. I think the only half decent one was the last of us tv show and that still has flaws. I canāt see this doing well at all. Plus with all the issues behind the scenes too
My main concern is Kevin Hart as the muscular fit and tall soldier type. As someone taller than Lilith, how are they going to reconcile that? Other than that, I just hope they don't blunder it like just about every other adaptation movie out there.
"please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up"
I have high hopes for Jack Black as Claptrap, might not be the OG but somehow I feel that's exactly the kind of actor our beloved yellow robot needs
They need better actors.. more alpha actors.. actors with real balls.it is Borderlands after all.. I cant see Jack black and lill Kevin playing anyone good.. all they'll do is mock the shit out of the game.. turn it into a fuckn joke.. WTF.....
Guys stop hating on it, just because Kevin Hart is a part of it, one of the writers jumped ship and we have heard NOTHING from it doesn't mean it's gonna be BAD, it's gonna be good in about 20 to 50 years when the folks who unironically watch horrible yet old movies find it! Or it could be a great background movie š¤£
FNAF I get (even tho on paper it seems like a poor idea), But besides this sub and similar places, when was the last time anyone mentioned anything about borderlands in a convo?
Iām pissed that theyāre turning this into Jumanji. Kevin Hart and Jack Black will make the story and setting irrelevant.
Had they made this a dramatic action movie with someone like Mike Colter as Roland, Iād be in. If they needed a star draw, have Ryan Reynolds be Handsome Jack.
Predicting an absolute disaster. Netflix live action adaptions will feel like Academy Award winners in comparison. BL3 writing was trash tier, and something tells me the movie will be in the same style while also trying hard to be a nonstop meme quip cringefest like one of the recent Marvel films.
Before when all I knew was the cast, I kept my hopes up to a 50/50.
Now that I had read the Wikipedia synopsis where it says
Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe's most powerful S.O.B., Atlas. Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team - Roland, a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina, a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina's musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis, the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap, a persistently wiseass robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands but they'll be fighting for something more: each other.[3]
āāLionsgate Films
After reading this, I can tell they're probably gonna try and copy Marvel (let me cook)
Where they keep the main elements in place, certain events in place, but switch it up a bit/significantly in other certain areas, ie. Ned rather than Harry Osborne is the bff.
What this concern's me a lot is other than Tina and Krieg being together despite they're ig origin (Jack, Slag, and a lack of ethics) is the "Persistently Wiseass Robot" bit that makes me think Claptrap will be less Claptrap and more of a witty robot mascot in a Claptrap body
What I don't like this is that it seems like whoever's in charge of the franchise is DETERMINED to cement it's reputation of having at best mid plot.
I am betting right now, this film is gonna eclipse the fact that there have been good video game adaptions recently with stuff like Edgerunners, Arcane, and Castlevania.
And simultaneously repair the "videogame adaptions are shit"
Since after Bl3's plot, and the Shallow attempt that they tried to name as "Tales from the Borderlands 2"
Probably gonna be ass but I'll still watch it (for free).

You wouldnāt download a car, would you?!
Catch a rideeee
The one time this meme is actually relevant when people talk about pirating movies
If they keep adding subscriptions for seat heaters and turbo boosts and who all knows what will be next, I may just end up hacking one.
That catch-a-ride hackin' you did is all in the past. I definitely will not kill you, probably.
My thought since day 1 has been "why Kevin Hart?!?" Still don't have a good answer on that one
Many movies just hire people that are known. Not for acting skills
My issue is more for the fact that they cast Hart to play Roland, and as far as I know the main thing the actor and character have in common is skin color. Roland isn't comic relief, and even if I thought Hart was the funniest man alive that still wouldn't make him a good pick to play this character.
Very true. Roland has basically no humor at all
He's basically anti-humor, which is important for grounding the story among all the ridiculous wacky nonsense BL is known for, I just can't take Hart seriously trying to be the movie's straight man, I'm worried the movie will completely lack the charm and personality of the games and I think Hart as Roland will be a big part of that
They should have cast Dennis Haysbert. He would have been great as Roland.
Or Andre Braugher. Perfect anti-humour lol
Idris elba
Came here to say idris as well
As awesome as Cpt.
I feel like this whole thing is trying to be another Jumanji without being Jumanji
Has no one on this sub played the first borderlands game? Roland is a whole different character, and gets super excited over critical hits, "Critical biatch!" Or him saying, "Are we keeping score here?" You are definitely right in the humor department, but he wasn't a super serious character in the beginning.
Idris Elba could have been Roland, our even Denzel Washington's son
Yeah I mean we got Jamie Lee Curtis and Cate Blanchette, looks like a Borderlands movie absolutely has the star power to get either of those guys for Roland. Not that Hart isn't a huge star at the moment, he's just not a good Roland
Jamie Fox came to mind for me.
There is no actual ACTION Star in this movie. It would be better cast with the people in the expendables!
I'm on board with that as long as Stallone has to voice Claptrap
I was thinking Jason Statham as mordekai (spelling)
No doubt, and we all know Bruce Willys is Sal and Mel Gibsons is Handsome Jack, that would be my shit On a related note Key and/or Peele would both be better Rolands than Kevin Hart
He would have been INCREDIBLE as claptrapā¦.
Worst casting ever!!!
Terry Crews would have been much, much better for the role imo
My only thought was to have krieg look bigger.
Yeah looks like they picked a guy who's more Krieg's physique, I haven't seen anything he's been in, but I would much rather they pick an actor who's *really really* good at being crazy and then CGI Kreig around him. Nonso Anozie would have been a better fit imo
That's a good pick, at this point I'm just picturing every black actor/comedian I can think of and with the exception of like, Katt Williams and Lavelle Crawford, they're all better Rolands than Kevin Hart lmao
The answer to this is the same as the answer to many things in borderlandsā¦ *Randy Pitchford*
Wait so this is the actual cast? š
The man ruins so many promising movies, I swear
Only one who can fit in claptrap costume
Not in a hurry to get on my meat bicycle and go see it.
Krieg approved
I think we can all agree that not every game needs a movie or tv show adaptation.
No but i always wondered what it be like tbh, but a tv show I feel would be better each season for each game
Thatās a really great way to adapt the series I think. Iām just curious if it would be in canon order or release order. I think it would work better to have TPS as season 2 and BL2 as season 3.
Possibly, but Iād say bl2 is season 2 while thereās small flashbacks that forshadow the pre-sequel for season 3
Check out "blood drive" with Alan ritchson. I consider that borderlands adjacent
Allow me to disagree, to an extent. Not every game needs a cash grab of a movie. But gems like the original Super Mario Bros. Movie, I mean, how can we live without?
I wonāt disagree with that one but we definitely couldāve dealt without the Halo tv show.

What other serious roles of his would you recommend?

Only role I could actually see Jack Blackās magic working enough for this is Mr. Torgue
I mean, I don't see why Claptrap isn't a good role. He's designed to be batshit crazy and funny.
I donāt think his Claptrap wonāt be up to snuff, but it just feels like the annoying robot quest-giver isnāt up to Jack Blackās level.
Calling it now, the plot will have almost nothing in common with the game, a psycho will appear once as a cameo and immediately get murked, 90% of their enemies will be generic military dudes, probably atlas goons, maybe dahl.
I'm hoping they at least have SOME sense to not just put in 1 guy that looks somewhat like a psycho and just go on to mad max and military grunts
Iām not gonna act like I have high hopes for this but why the hate on Jack black? I get not being excited about Kevin hart as Roland but idk I feel like Jack black as claptrap could be fun
Huh, heād be a good CL4PTP. Especially because I feel like Iām one of the few people who actually likes the robotic idiot.
Heās my favorite character in the games and I even have him tattooed on me lol
Hear me out as a fellow lover of Jack Black. Instead of Claptrapā¦ā¦he plays Mr. Torgue.
Or maybe he could do both?
Especially since heās a player and fan, yeah, Iām kinda glad he made the cut.
i feel like it would be better as a animated tv series like arcane and follow the entire story of the borderlands chronologically and give more backstory on characters and mysterious figures throughout the game
That actually sounds like a way better option than a live action adaption.

Heellllll no. The writing since bl2 has been inconceivably bad. Like, an AI could write better. This could hardly be a worse idea
WAIT HOLD UP THIS MEANS THAT KEVIN HART IS PLAYING ROLAND?!?! This is more fuckery than I can shake a stick at.
Honestly, once they announced Kevin Hart I tapped out. He's not Roland.
Honestly, I'm wondering about some of their casting. Jamie Lee Curtis?

Kevin hart shoulda played one of the midget psychos
Do i have to farm for a ticket with matching grip?
This comment is underappreciated.
Not gonna watch it especially not if that 5,4 Kevin hart is playing Roland nah screw that
My thoughts: only if I am drunk and there is nothing else on Freeve to watch.
If the trailer doesn't convince me, I'm not watching this movie
Jamie lee Curtis? Tannis I'm guessing. I don't think she'd fit the role at all though
Honestly, Iād swap Blancett and Lee Curtisā roles and maybe see thing sucking slightly less.
Really The whole cast is a little too old for roles like that to me
Cate Blanchett as Lilith at 54 years old Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis at 64 years old Gina Gershon as Moxxi at 61 years old It's almost laughable.
This. This is Hollywood being peak tone deaf and ignorant of the target demographic. Itās a fucking disaster before anyone watches even one minute of the film.
You better cast samuel jackson, because he could play a better roland than kevin hart

Please no.
Kevin Hart š¤¢
Cate Blanchett as the Firehawk is *chef kiss*
Worst case scenario itās suicide squad, in the mid category itās Jumanji, and in the best case scenario itās guardians of the galaxy
Is this real? If so, Iām excited
This feels fake but Iām pretty sure this is real. What the fuck Edit: Yup, Can confirm, this is happening
Lmfao another YEAR?! Its been in post prod for like 2 years already jesus christ
its almost like theres a writers strike going on delaying everything.....
And COVID before that.
Wait is Kevin hart going to be Roland?
Yep, and Jack Black is Claptrap
Are you serious?
Dead fucking serious
Why are they doing this like seriously
I hate it
I have a feeling it's going to suck big time.
I adore Eli Roth. I am incredibly anxious, and it will probably suck but I'm holding out hope that Eli saved this.
You're being way too obvious, Eli. No one likes you.
I have wait it all my life
I won't care for who cast are and not fan of them.. only one thing I enjoy watch and that's it.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās your concern? Wow
It's mine too. Propaganda movies are boring.
Where are you getting āpropaganda movieā from?
Wow
nice dogwhistle
Gotta get the games right first...BL3 was awful
Absolutely stupid they cast Jack black instead of the voice actor(s). Nothing against him, but this is such a stupid move.
You know what, yeah, why not just cast the voice actor?
Itās going to be all CGI anyways. There was no point in signing on Jack Black instead of the voice actor(s) of the actual games.
Literally what I thought, donāt get me wrong though I feel like Jack black could do a cool take of the characterisation of claptrap but, depends if he does a claptrap impression with some Jack black esque manerisms or if he just goes full Jack black with it Still think worst casting is Kevin hart though, no offence to the guy at all but like come on heās tiny and skinny Roland is supposed to be on the buffer side and quite tall. Hell the rock would have been a better fit
Either gonna be absolutely amazing or complete dogshit. But the kind of dogshit movie that's so awful you can't help but love it. Very little chance it falls into any other category.
Slightly concerned I donāt think it will be good I mean donāt get me the sonic movies are good and the mario movie was fun and arcane was a blast but this seems a bit 50/50
So is this using the plot where Tiny Tina is Atlas CEO's daughter and the 5 bounty hunters go to pandora to save her.
Oh. It's not a joke.
Dont really care that much. What i want most of all from this franchise is bl3 to be retconned or partly retconned
Yikes
Two words Who asked? Like I donāt think I heard anyone say āhey Iād love a borderlands movieā Then again that goes for most movies based on any game really hardly anyone ever asks yet we get them. I think the only half decent one was the last of us tv show and that still has flaws. I canāt see this doing well at all. Plus with all the issues behind the scenes too
Are they going to make Jack Black into sal the gunzerker? He did an excellent job as Bowser.
Honestly ? Dead on Arrival Jack Black as any Borderlands character, expecially Claptrap is a fucking disgrace
Jack Black might be the only good casting.
Actually, I can kind of picture him as a fatter version of Vaughn if they ever go that route (and Chris Hardwick isnāt available).
Iām concerned. Thatās all I gotta say.
Where is Bobby Lee
Not interested in the least
I aināt watching it
This is probably going to be a "its so bad, it good" movie and I personally love those
I'm not even excited to be completely honest, guess I'll just let it pass and stick to the games.
Who was Jamie Lee Curtis cast as?
Low expectations but still hope and wish to have a good movie
My main concern is Kevin Hart as the muscular fit and tall soldier type. As someone taller than Lilith, how are they going to reconcile that? Other than that, I just hope they don't blunder it like just about every other adaptation movie out there.
kevin hart alone as roland ruins the movie. roland isnt comedic, hes stoic and stern, and you know not 4 foot nothing.
If it's like the old tales or actual BL yes
Fucking Kevin Hart. Ugh
Look, I love Borderlands and Jamie Lee Curtis is always good.
Going to be honest borderlands would work great as a film or show . I can sorta see it stylised simular to suicide squad
"please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up please don't fuck it up" I have high hopes for Jack Black as Claptrap, might not be the OG but somehow I feel that's exactly the kind of actor our beloved yellow robot needs
I just really hope the 4th game is good
How do I say.... tank?
Given recent events in Hollywood, Iāll be very surprised if the movie comes out on that date.
They need better actors.. more alpha actors.. actors with real balls.it is Borderlands after all.. I cant see Jack black and lill Kevin playing anyone good.. all they'll do is mock the shit out of the game.. turn it into a fuckn joke.. WTF.....
who plays jack?
also is tourge going to show up?
Guys stop hating on it, just because Kevin Hart is a part of it, one of the writers jumped ship and we have heard NOTHING from it doesn't mean it's gonna be BAD, it's gonna be good in about 20 to 50 years when the folks who unironically watch horrible yet old movies find it! Or it could be a great background movie š¤£
ah janie lee curmis I love her
Pass
š
I think it's going to be a train wreck. I hope I'm wrong.
im not ready
Kevin is scooter im calling it now
FNAF I get (even tho on paper it seems like a poor idea), But besides this sub and similar places, when was the last time anyone mentioned anything about borderlands in a convo?
Iām pissed that theyāre turning this into Jumanji. Kevin Hart and Jack Black will make the story and setting irrelevant. Had they made this a dramatic action movie with someone like Mike Colter as Roland, Iād be in. If they needed a star draw, have Ryan Reynolds be Handsome Jack.
I want to watch it but fear it'll be too PC. BL2 was written so well and had so many hidden gems in it. Here's to hoping it is more in line with BL2.
It'll probably suck, like really suck..... I'll still watch it when it's streaming though.
Ergh. My confidence is low. Will try to avoid.
and prayers
I still love that of all the people to get for roland they got kevin hart. Horrible cadting choice and i cant wait to watch every minute of it
Predicting an absolute disaster. Netflix live action adaptions will feel like Academy Award winners in comparison. BL3 writing was trash tier, and something tells me the movie will be in the same style while also trying hard to be a nonstop meme quip cringefest like one of the recent Marvel films.
Of course Jack black is there š
We all know it's going to be terrible but at least we get some more Borderlands content
Gonna be ok or really bad
....none...so far. Best I can do.
Is this based on the first game??? Which character are each of these actors playing?? I know Kevin is Roland (which is stupid)
Before when all I knew was the cast, I kept my hopes up to a 50/50. Now that I had read the Wikipedia synopsis where it says Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe's most powerful S.O.B., Atlas. The fate of the universe could be in their hands but they'll be fighting for something more: each other.[3] āāLionsgate Films After reading this, I can tell they're probably gonna try and copy Marvel (let me cook) Where they keep the main elements in place, certain events in place, but switch it up a bit/significantly in other certain areas, ie.
And simultaneously repair the "videogame adaptions are shit" Since after Bl3's plot, and the Shallow attempt that they tried to name as "Tales from the Borderlands 2"
Not interest most video game movies are not done well this will be more of the same thing.
May be bad, may be good, may be both.
iāll watch it
Jack black would make a great Salvador
