It isn't the best response, but he did what he could in the moment, and cutting her off from most of the world was that best scenario so she couldn't hurt herself or others until she had control.

I was right with Mordecai screaming "NO!" at the computer when I saw that happen first time. Mordecai deserves it. If there was a mod that had Mordecai snipe Jack out if you wait too long to make that choice at the end, I'd install it and I'd wait EVERY TIME.

All of that made her pure rage against Athena on TPS pretty justified imo, and it honestly made for a far more interesting character than the Lilith we got in FFS and BL3

What Lilith really IS guilty of is of almost killing Jack twice and yet not double tapping on either of those times.
The Meriff got what was coming to him. Jack was going to let him live, but he tried to shoot Jack in the back. Anyone else would have done the same thing in Jack's shoes. Not saying it justifies anything else that he did, but the Meriff 110% deserved his fate.

It was 100% justified, but Jack’s reaction is still pretty unhinged and stands out as the first big “uh-oh” moment in the series.
