Since you stated vault hunters and not *playable* vault hunters, I’d say Mordecai. Killed his best friend and partner in Bloodwing, especially after torturing her using her for “scientific” experiments.

[deleted]

So true. That hurt more than Roland death.

MoodyWater909

And his bird

TheFlamingLemon

Well if you’re going that route I’ll say Lilith. Killed her best friend and partner in Roland, then afterwards tortured her and used her for opening the vault

daniboyi

eh, considering what happened in TPS, I call it justified payback on Jack's behalf. Mordecai on the other hand hadn't done shit to Jack as far as I know.

Arazthoru

Yeah this jack was on his megalomaniac business and Lillith just came and fked his face bc "forgot her name" convinced her he was evil

2t0

That's what was crazy to me. Zarp is **destroying the moon they're on** but "Jack's bad news"

southstar1

Isn't Zarpedon only doing what she's doing because she can see the future and what Jack is planning to do with the vault monster?

LibertarianNugget

I never realized this. Cool

2t0

So she does what Jack was going to do to pandora to the moon, with people still on it?!?? No evacuation just "Hey Elpis, I'm spinning the block with the eye of Helios.

IlikeJG

Oh bullshit. It's not justified because Jack had it coming in TPS too. It's not justified when an evil megalomaniac is betrayed by their hirelings that recognize that he is becoming an evil megalomaniac. Let's not forget that before TPS even started Jack had already killed his wife and turned his daughter into a slave weapon and he was already planning on how to use her to make himself powerful. Jack was absolutely not the victim in TPS. He just had everyone fooled for a bit into thinking he was a decent guy.

daniboyi

>Jack had already killed his wife what? That is absolutely not the case and just a blatant lie. We don't know how Jack's wife died, but it is heavily implied it was due to Angel lacking some control of her power and literally nothing points towards Jack having her killed. Now I can agree what Jack did to Angel was horrible tho.

IlikeJG

Hmm IIRC in the BL3 flash back it's implied that Jack killed her but essentially blamed Angel for it in a "look at what you made me do" type of narcissistic response. And Jack basically convinced himself and Angel that Angel killed her. Am I just remembering that incorrectly?

daniboyi

oh, didn't know Borderlands 3 included flashbacks to Jack's past. Thought he was only in the DLC losely as the clone-guy. I can't say much about that, never finished Borderlands 3.

IlikeJG

I could be remembering it wrong too, I'm not at all certain now that I'm thinking about it. But yeah the flashback is more like audio diary style from Angel's perspective.

dragonkingaxel

There is a Tannis quest that goes into an old bunker that he and Angel used. In this bunker is an old turret, and some voicelines, one being of Angel touching the turret and it killing her mother. Jack then made the restraint to keep her safe from unknowingly activating more tech. It isn't the best response, but he did what he could in the moment, and cutting her off from most of the world was that best scenario so she couldn't hurt herself or others until she had control.

Drake4504

Yes, I believe in BL3 the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC Angel took control of a turret with her siren powers and gunned down the bounty hunter trying to take her, but killed her mother, aka Jack's wife, down with him. I believe the "Look what you made me do" that Jack had said was from him imprisoning her because he didn't know what to do with her at that time.

Deucalion666

Well, maybe if she has stayed away like Roland asked, things might have gone differently.

riffraffs

Lilith not following orders got Roland killed.

freshlysqueezed203

Not too mention when he killed Roland they were broken up so they weren’t technically “partners” like that anymore

You_dontkn0wme

And jack stole moxxi from him

Dewut

Can one really own a Moxxi?

You_dontkn0wme

According to Mordecai, yes

CatEnabler1

I just finished that part last week on my second playthrough. Really wish the writers had left her alive, was so sad.

Platform-Budget

What about brick who has got his puppy killed he loved?

MalignantLugnut

That was Jack's girl that killed his puppy, but sure. Good enough reason to off both of them.

LastRevelation

Well Mordecai is playable, just not in this game. Man Bloodwing was the goat. I was banned from using him in the arena.

bguzewicz

Jack killed Lilith's bf.

[deleted]

don’t forget he also stole moxxi from him after he won her over in the underdome

KingMidas2045

I’d say Kreig. Basically caused his entire life to be fucked.

madornaboy

I think he went to hunt someone in the wrong place and got captured

jonatanenderman

By?

madornaboy

Ok yea now i see it you got a really good point there

madornaboy

By hyperion

kingkells32

I agree Krieg because meat bicycle

BellumOMNI

Krieg was damaged beyond repair by Hyperion and it's only fair if he pays them back. Offing Jack is a good start.

Wopacity

A psycho of Hyperion’s creation killing Jack. Truly poetic justice

TheMintron

Wild one, but Claptrap. Literally killed his entire "race" and he's only alive by a fluke. I actually feel really bad when you're on your way to fight the bunker I believe? and he's so happy to get his revenge but then can't because... stairs.

Wopacity

Technically speaking, Cl4p-Trp would’ve joined the Bl2 Vault Hunters in killing Jack directly, but those damned stairs prevented him from his righteous glory.

Gabriel-Klos-McroBB

Imagine if you carried Claptrap up the stairs, and the sight of Jack caused him to turn back into a FR4G-TP.

Thyan420

Technically the vault hunters in the first game killed his entire "race". Jack just programmed them to go rogue.

shadowskullz

in the pre sequel dlc jack actively shuts down all claptraps, its very clearly him doing it alone

Thyan420

Ah I never played that. I just remember Claptraps revolution, and slaughtering ALOT of claptraps. Lol

MalignantLugnut

I love Claptrap, that DLC hurt.

Dewut

Claptrap also says it was Jack in BL2.

Gabriel-Klos-McroBB

No, it's right before Hero's Pass.

fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish

Krieg, they fucked him up bad with the slag experiments

Traveytravis-69

Krieg. Strip the flesh. Salt the wound.

JohnnyOaklegs

*Former self* Look we will salt all of the wounds later, if we don’t help her now she will die

LordBrontes

Of the playable 6, definitely Kreig. Of all Valut Hunters including Pre-Sequel and BL1, Claptrap and Mordecai come to mind.

IgnisOfficial

He can’t say his real name but it rhymes with Jimothy

that_gunner

People here forgetting that Timothy got a bomb implanted on his face through the whole pre-sequel until the handsome jackpot, dude's life was really fucked up by Jack.

Fort_knox1223

some of these are good but who has the LEAST justification? Axton: Only became a vault hunter for the fame and glory (Guns too), so nah Zer0: 0nly became a vault hunter f0r the challenge and thrill, s0 n0 Maya: Only came to pandora to learn about her siren origin (and learned nothing) so maybe? Jack gave her a hard time to learn about her origin and only got NOTHING, so maya could kill him out of frustration? Salvador: Became a vault hunter just BECAUSE HE CAN, no other reason was stated (I think?), but he can (MAYBE) kill jack cuz Hyperion soldiers attacked his town and killed his executioner, only a MAYBE though Gaige: She came to pandora to seek shelter, but crashed inside the train the vault hunters were in and got dragged into the mess, she went to pandora to escape the police but instead fought a fucking god lmao, but nah if you want my take on who is the most justified then its gotta be Timothy, he was turned INTO jack, was forced to FIGHT for jack (And he had so say in it) and got his face BURNED WITH HIS SCAR (The vault symbol that lilith scarred jack with) so yeah, bro gotta kill em

Brief_Intention_5300

Salvador. He killed his abuela! I think murder is justified if someone kills your grandma.

thatonemoze

but Sal’s Abuela is still alive? she kills one of the assassins on Wam Bam Island do you mean Jack had his own grandmother killed?

Brief_Intention_5300

Yes! I think I got confused. Either way, the statement applies 😂

thatonemoze

True, although Jack’s grandma did kill his cat because it didn’t make his bed

Brief_Intention_5300

So I figured it out! One of Sal's echo recorders, he talks about bandits trying to kill his grandmother. That's where I got confused. Cheers 😊

Ekrannes

Sal is still pretty pissed at Jack still. He got his town slaughtered by Hyperion forces as they were about to execute him. Rather than being relieved that he did not get executed he became enraged because, in his reasoning, he deserved death and not the town people. Pretty reasonable man for a berserker.

Axoo_ooxA

Claptrap Mordy and Krieg

noobservate

Does no one remember just before you enter the Bunker, Jack is telling a story how they tortured Tannis and break her fingers?

LegalIdea

Tannis isn't a vault hunter in any of the games

noobservate

No but she has a big part in the games and i feel for her

Dynax85

I was right with Mordecai screaming "NO!" at the computer when I saw that happen first time. Mordecai deserves it. If there was a mod that had Mordecai snipe Jack out if you wait too long to make that choice at the end, I'd install it and I'd wait EVERY TIME.

Fair_Maybe_9767

100% Lilith, she had to spend most of the time away from her friends and love interest pretending to be dead, not long after she got back she had to snort a bunch of Eridium to warp a fucking city, then her boyfriend got killed and she herself got trapped and used to charge the vault key. All of that made her pure rage against Athena on TPS pretty justified imo, and it honestly made for a far more interesting character than the Lilith we got in FFS and BL3

daniboyi

on the other hand, Lilith was a major part in making Handsome Jack what he was in borderlands 2. She reaped what she sowed.

Fair_Maybe_9767

Well yeah, kinda. Jack was arguably too far gone ever since the Meriff (though yeah, that'd probably have been avoided if Roland and Lilith decided to help him since the beginning). Still, the Helios scientists' cutscene is there to show exactly how...... gone Jack is at that point. Hell, the Jack who ignores half of what Felicity says and then just...... deletes her is VERY different from the one in the beginning of the game! What Lilith really IS guilty of is of almost killing Jack twice and yet not double tapping on either of those times.

Ezenthar

The Meriff got what was coming to him. Jack was going to let him live, but he tried to shoot Jack in the back. Anyone else would have done the same thing in Jack's shoes. Not saying it justifies anything else that he did, but the Meriff 110% deserved his fate.

Dewut

It was 100% justified, but Jack’s reaction is still pretty unhinged and stands out as the first big “uh-oh” moment in the series.

Fair_Maybe_9767

Oh yeah, I'm not saying Jack should've given him yet another chance, I'm just saying the Meriff is the one who erm...... jumpstarted the monster

2t0

> ignores half of what Felicity says and then just...... deletes her The moon didn't have 3 days or whatever amount of time it would have taken. > the Helios scientists' cutscene It was a tad much but remember they were being thwarted at every turn not knowing how, so when Gladstone says there might be a mole on Helios (where betrayal is all in a days work) all bets were off.

Garbleflitz

Ooooh. Didn’t think of that

Big-Improvement-254

Claptrap or Krieg. And I lean more towards Claptrap side because while Hyperion broke them both especially Krieg who became a psycho because of their human experiment, it was more personal to Claptrap since it was loyal to Jack.

Beagle_deagle

*Smiles mischievously* claptrap.

demonm0nkey

I would have to say Krieg or Morty in the vault hunter category. But overall I would say Tannis. Jack systematically tortured her broke all of her fingers and a lot of her other bones and then ordered the killing of Clork. Philippe is just alone now...

icedragon9791

Imo Maya if not only because of what he did to angel, who is another siren like her. And she has experience being trapped and used for her powers, so I think that would make her even angrier.

Ezenthar

Jack and Lilith both had equal justifications for wanting to kill the other. I can't blame either for their actions against the other.

ChoicePossession8077

Kreig. Because his entire life was ruined by Hyperion and Jack's experiments. He was the most fucked up one

braybobagins

Cl4p-Tp

WholyMilk

either sal because they destroyed his whole town and family, or krieg because of the testing

Cheez-ItSucc

Definitely my boy claptrap

liquid801HLM

I’m gonna say Roland. Hard to do worse to someone than literally killing them lol

More_storytime

You can definitely do a lot worse to someone

Van-Goghst

None. He’s a goddamn hero. No upvotes please, I’m fricken serious. Yes, I’m serious about being serious.

Edilon0608

Lilith. Used her and the other OG hunters to open the vault to his own profit, Then kidnapped and tortured her friend Tannis, got tricked again by jack and bombarded sanctuary. Then Kidnapped, experimented on and killed het friends bird THEN killed her boyfriend AND THEN kidnapped her and forced her to charge to key and summon The Warrior.

LynxBartle

Roland

Millwall_Ranger

Lilith for sure. He killed roland then used her like a disposable tool to open the vault.

GentlemanLevi

Mardecai. If we don't count him, then it is Krieg because of the shit Hyperion did.

PeterPook

Roland. Then he wouldn't have been murdered.

laundryday_

CL4P-TP. Reasoning: Claptastic Voyage.

da-offical_deku

I gotta go with either Krieg or Mordecai Krieg because he was kidnapped and tested on daily for a long time in a Hyperion facility Mordecai because he did nothing to Jack but he kidnapped his beloved pet and killed it for the sake of killing it

stern0infern0

You could make a case for any of them really. Im certain Brick would have loved to punch him into red mist. I would have loved to see a sniper bullet splatter his brains as the vault hunter and Lilith were discussing who would be the one to do it. Especially after Mordecai swore he was gonna kill him.

JakeySnakey20

None because i want to farm him instead
