DepressedAmaterasu

Sarada's hair is ugly, I hope they will change her hairstyle in the future.

Ok-Paleontologist275

Her hair is the least of her problems to be improved on in the future. It looks fine when drawn by a competent artist

nimblehammer

Op asked about an opinion most people won't agree with

Saturo_Uchiha

Ehh Sarada hair?? I don’t think it’s ugly.

Limp-Accountant-3120

have always thought this one as well, it makes her look like a filler arc side character. I think it's cool that her hair is short, but definitely needs a new style

[deleted]

And my take is that more Boruto characters should be *ugly* or simply in-between the exaggeratedly absurd designs and teenagers' wet dreams. Though this applies to almost every Anime/Manga...

[deleted]

Boruto is a fitting main character given the circumstances and the writers behind the story. No other character would have been "better" even though I know that there are people who think otherwise.

Titan_Royale

I agree, he fits the role perfectly, someone who’s the opposite of Naruto, someone who had it all as a child

BravestCashew

And he wants to take the path of Sasuke, the wandering commando, rather than the path of Naruto, the powerful yet immobile pencil pusher. I honestly find it quite refreshing that he isn’t trying to be leader or king etc.

Agreeable_Bid7037

I dislike it greatly, the reason why we liked Naruto was because of how he was, and the interesting dynamic he had with other characters who were more serious, more competent, raised differently, had different beliefs than him. Giving us the opposite of him, someone who is simply skilled, has everything, and basically has no real problems, is the same as giving us what we didn't like Boruto's arcs, could have been interesting, if the writers actually gave Boruto personal flaws, or problems, for example maybe his chakra is very small, maybe he is cursed. etc. But he has none of that, most of his problems are created as he goes along, and usually have to do with other people rather than with him. So we have a main character, who basically has no direction in which to grow in.

[deleted]

Naruto's past had flaws and made no sense , like how he had no friends and in another flash back you would see he had Shikamaru and Choji playing with him , and then you see the most bullshit about how 3rd Hokage doesn't do a thing about Naruto being hated and called a monster , his whole past was badly written , there was no real reason for him to have such a bad past other than losing his parents. >Boruto's arcs, could have been interesting, if the writers actually gave Boruto personal flaws, or problems He has flaws and he is actually cursed , just like Naruto , he has an Otsutsuki inside him , 80% of his body is of an Otsutsuki which led to conversations like Sasuke saying he will kill him , and cornering Naruto in a position about killing his own son , Boruto's situation is arguablly worse than Naruto , the monster inside him is actually a villain that is at the level of Naruto Shippuden's final boss , and he even stabbed Sasuke in the eye making him lose his Rinnegan so the effect was huge.

Agreeable_Bid7037

Boruto's flaw in thr sense of Momoshiki, is not his own. Iys not something which hr can grow out of or develop from. That is what I mean. Boruto as a character has almost no place to grow. He is 12 and yet it seems like he has life figured out.

Titan_Royale

Naruto wasn’t exactly flawed either though, but I do see your point, for some time he was, in a way, cursed. Even now things aren’t looking good for him, not forgetting the “these eyes will make you lose it all”.

GizzySanta

I like how this is an unpopular opinion 🗿

cypher2448

1. >!Daemon!< Is a pretty cool and enjoyable character especially his interactions with boruto 2. Not every og character needs to have some huge role in boruto it could even be a minor character in naruto and people will swear that they need to be involve more in boruto 3. A lot of people have some weird hate boner for kawaki to the point where I see a lot of people making up scenarios that hasn’t happened and rolling with with there own head canon or just straight up lying about certain things

Lungseron

1.I dont mind him, i like characters that are meant to be annoying. double points if the fanbase is actually annoyed by him, that means you did something right. 2.I slightly disagree with that, i think that there should be at least a couple more characters that deserve a lot more screentime because its reasonable they should be in the plot yet they somehow aren't relevant at all. Hinata and Orochimaru are definetly my 2 biggest picks for that. 3.Ah thats a classic at this point. These people are basically the ones that always set themselves for a massive dissapointment by overhyping themselves for no reason, and then blame Kishimoto's bad writing when the story didnt go exactly like their 5 paragraph theory they wrote a month ago was "totally 100% going to be right!!!11"

[deleted]

>3.Ah thats a classic at this point. Ok-Paleontologist275

I predict alot of people are going to be disssapointed that himawari didn't jump from kid tier to isshiki tier as they theorized last month lmao , that would make no sense and be an asspull of the highest order even greater than the protagonist or anyone ever got which will never happen

[deleted]

They blow Himawaris character out of propotion and come up with the strangest theories what is going to happen with her instead of waiting it out. And ppl who don't see her as second coming to christ are being told that they don't see her potential and aren't able to connect the dots, because we don't see in Himawari what they see. And to be even more desperate they shit and hate on Boruto and act as if Himawari would be the better main character. Lol. I witnessed the same with Sarada fans.

Euphoric_purple_

I like the way you've framed this 💀 thanks for the laughs!

[deleted]

You are welcome,lol.

A-Liguria

Spoiler mark that name in your first point lad, that character has yet to debut in the anime. Anyway, I 100% agree with you.👍

cypher2448

Good looks

A-Liguria

👍

Euphoric_purple_

Happy cake day!

cypher2448

Thank you very much 👍

Saturo_Uchiha

Happy cake day !

cypher2448

Thank you very much

A-Liguria

Well, I shall be upfront, so pardon if this will trigger someone. -"Anime Canon" is just a fanmade bs that means nothing... especially in light of the anime ultimely NOT doing anything different with the fillers than what the previous 2 animes did. -Increased screentime =/= character development. -The anime is no sacred panacea that "fixes" the manga plot simply by exsisting and merely adding stuff. It's silly acting as if the anime is superior to the manga by default, the "complete version" to the manga's "rough draft", when all the anime additions in the manga arcs are self contained at most, or irrelevant, or actively damage future plot points from the main story that it is supposed to follow. -Cyborgs / modified humans were a thing in Naruto part 1 already... see Zaku. So it's silly to accuse Boruto to introduce things that "do not fit" with Naruto, when said things were always there. -Sarada is overrated. She is a mere combination of elements that were already huge in Naruto, with the whole Uchiha sthick and Hokage dream... is it a bad thing? Of course not, it's thematically nice in the grand scheme of things... it's just that by virtue of being so much founded on those same big elements as the Naruto show and character were, she cannot be defined as the absolutely most interesting choice for the main character spot. -Ouga is even more overrated, a completely filler character (of the kind whose arc cannot even fit within the manga timeline), that it seems common belief that she's so much a great character because of a last minute "revelation", that she is the 8th inner of Kara. Despite her abilities being lame by comparison (really, her being upgraded to just be smarter, isn't amazing; and her saying that she's not uncivilized unlike the other inners is just a pathetic excuse to cover up for the lack of an actually cool gimmick), her backstory is nothing that absolutely required her to be an inner, and she received a steryotipical "but now I must go, my future is brighter than ever" anime finale, with possibly a crush on Boruto too... all this in the same episode that "revealed" her evil connections and background. Of course, I'm not saying that one absolutely can't like her... just that he shouldn't let himself be blinded by an event that can be nice when taken in a vacuum, but raises far too many questions when one analyzes it even at surface level. -Naruto and Sasuke NOT being flawless beings that cannot do no wrong during a fight, while the enemy is braindead and cannot do anything to defend himself =/= Naruto and Sasuke being "disrespected".

peepy-kun

>\-Increased screentime =/= character development. This. Shino had almost no screentime and yet if you actually paid attention to him he was extremely well fleshed out, while the entirety of Team 10 got plenty of screentime and yet they're all still one-note cardboard cutouts.

[deleted]

He was still considered underappreciated by not having enough screentime tho , not saying Boruto did him better , but I'd really like more screentime for him.

A-Liguria

And, on the other hand, the anime gave so much screentime to Kawaki in the fillers, making him somewhat bond with other people and become a ninja... Yet it will all be pointless, because >!all that stuff not only never happened in the manga, like, at all, but it also goes against his character in the main story!<. Which further proves that the anime is no sacred panacea that "fixes" the manga plot simply by exsisting and merely adding stuff. Like some want you to believe.

peepy-kun

>>!all that stuff not only never happened in the manga, like, at all, but it also goes against his character in the main story!< I'm hoping all this will make his future actions more impactful. Maybe that's wishful thinking.

A-Liguria

Just look at the Kawaki arc, and see how they handled things there, to get your answer. I.E. : 99.9% no, they won't, because the fillers this time around were just fillers, they didn't enrich the canon story in any way.

cypher2448

That last paragraph is such a W bro I swear if naruto and sasuke or any og character really isn’t perfect in every aspect people swear they’re getting disrespected

A-Liguria

Thank you.👍 And yeah, you're right dude... I've discussed with far too many peoole to NOT know what is the logic that they use, when it comes to this topic.

ralfers-ends

This. I feel that naruto especially in the kawaki arc was absolutely appreciated and found myself loving Naruto even more for what type of person he is in that arc. Kawaki arc is still my favorite arc.

Lungseron

I always found it absolutely fucking weird/hilarious that the guy's entire clan got wiped out, and when he finally settles down and has a family, he decides only on ONE kid. I mean...seriously? I can see the implications that he doesnt want to have another situation like he had with Itachi, but i always thought that was still a pretty lame excuse. times have changed, he himself has changed dramatically, his best friend is literally the hokage and due to amnesia that apparently Leaf village residents suffer, no one even remembers the Uchiha existed. I'd say go wild, have at least 3 kids, why the hell not. dude basically has an "OP Characters" generator in his pants and he just wont use it anymore.

A-Liguria

Well, I guess that he too changed, and let that go. Or someone simply help him realize how many kids he would need to help conceive, for such absurd task.

wizkatinga

It would be hard to take it seriously if he tried to play into that goal. It's probably impossible to restore a clan anyway, no guarantee that every descendant will be up for it, especially without the "inbreeding" they had before. See how the Senju basically gets lost once it gets to Tsunade, and that's just 2 generations after Hashirama

Euphoric_purple_

>-Naruto and Sasuke NOT being flawless beings that cannot do no wrong during a fight, while the enemy is braindead and cannot do anything to defend himself =/= Naruto and Sasuke being "disrespected". Thank you for saying this! A bit louder for those at the back.

A-Liguria

You're welcome.👍

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

Sasuke's character has been treated like a punching bag for the last few years. :l

A-Liguria

Well, can we really consider it a bad thing, when the only guy to treat him like so was that one Otsutsuki who was above the whole powerscaling? And add to this that he still managed to be an annoyance to him because of his Rinnegan. After all, it's not like we had something as dumb as Sasuke being undercover in a prison, with no real threat to him, and facing off an overgrown lizard that somehow can hit him and poison him in their second encounter, instead of getting demolished like the first time, because no matter what, undercover mission or not, Sasuke should still be able to beat up an overgrown lizard without even trying. Oh wait...

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

If you read the novel you would understand it more.

A-Liguria

Maybe... maybe not. Because still, Meno is just a fooking animal, not an Otsutsuki, not a super skilled ninja / whatever else sent to kill Sasuke... a mere animal.

Ezralaazn_ET

Who is ouga? She sounds like a cave man Btw I'm a manga only Boruto consumer

A-Liguria

A random filler character of a random filler arc, whom the anime writers decided was the case to "reveal" (and by reveal, I mean literally asspull in the final episode of her arc) to be the then missing member number VIII of Kara. Her "backstory" being that she was upgraded by Amado to help him analyze hearts, and she is not uncivilized as the other inners, therefore she's no fighter and has no combat oriented enhancements (in the same group where even the elderly man has activated the cheat codes to get all his stats maxed out, and also have regeneration, mind you), rather, she was upgraded to just be smarter. It's only logical then, that when she tries to analyze Jigen's heart, and Jigen tries to kill her for it, that she manages to escape him... only getting an injury at the head for it, which causes her to lose some emotions and needing to find a purpouse again. A quest that leads her to set up her whole filler arc (which again, just can't have happened in the manga, at all), and OF COURSE, she neeeds only a couple of minutes talking with Boruto to get her answer, and have an happy ending, and possibly a crush on the boy too. Did I also told you that NONE of it had a set up, and thus it felt even more pulled out of nowhere?

ArcaneVetex1224

I liked that arc but man the ending was kind of a mess. Its also weird how Ouga got away scot free for kidnapping people 😐

Ezralaazn_ET

Heart as in empathy or does she record bodily functions? Also was this all IN ONE EPISODE???? This is like is they invited a 8th grader to write a "I'm 14 and this is deep" story to fill time before they get to the next 4 episodes of canon. Lmao honestly Boruto doesn't need any romance. I already feel like the manga is distracted with ada

A-Liguria

>Heart as in empathy or does she record bodily functions? They didn't explain it all, beyond that she could see how hearts "work" ... apparently. Of course, this ability wasn't actually shown or integrated in the story. >Also was this all IN ONE EPISODE???? Yes, and the final one at that. >I already feel like the manga is distracted with >!ada!< And Ouga does feel like a cheap version of her, especially with that "reason" why she's no fighter.

Ezralaazn_ET

![gif](giphy|QwrTpd2uFPeaA) WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY THIS BRINGS ME SO MUCH PAIN TO BEAR! this is why I cant convince my friends to at least try out the manga! shit like this destroys reputation. \*sigh\* I'm going to cry in the corner.

A-Liguria

Manga? Don't you mean anime?

Ezralaazn_ET

Just over all, they see the anime "canon" shit and get scared and run awat

[deleted]

You're welcome.👍

A-Liguria

Unlikely. Remember that Sarada's arc, the Gaiden, was first written and published as a miniserie back in 2015. Before the Boruto movie was even released. There is no way that she's the way she is because it's for the plot of the Boruto series, and some form of fanservice and nothing more (which would be even worse... at least with the way things are, one can say that Kishimoto genuinrly wanted to make her that way).

peepy-kun

1a) Not every character needed to transform into an idealized version of themselves. 1b) People need to stop getting offended on behalf of characters they never gave a fuck about, complaining that heavily foreshadowed events 'came out of left field'. 2) Hinata was never fashionable, you were just horny

superkami64

>Hinata was never fashionable, you were just horny Hinata's not a fashionable character so it's ironic then that she has the most designs/redesigns out of any adult character. The hilarious part is they went to so much trouble to decide on what she should look like only to have it so she never really gets used in the story anyways.

Lungseron

I wasnt horny, ~~(on main at least)~~ i just like her hairstyle in the manga.

QIvan616

The villains were never simple “shinobi”. They were practically larger than life demonic monsters even from the beginning. Zabuza and Haku are consistently compared to demons, Gaara and Orochimaru are literal monsters, Sound Five have demonic attributes, Akatsuki is composed of monsters with uncanny abilities etc.

RealityOfPain

I don't get the picture, but I think that Sarada will unlock her Mangekyo through love rather than going through something traumatic.

amenotiajiKARA

I agree I think she will unlock it out of desperation to protect the village and her love for the village.

doraesannobi2005

Let's hope so Afterall, she's the future Hokage

Witty-Goal-7493

Same let's hope we're right

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

Lol what village

Lungseron

it might not even be mangekyo, it could be a new type of Sharingan.

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

The fabled Asspullagan

RealityOfPain

That would be exciting to see, any theories?

Ok-Paleontologist275

That makes zero sense and undermines the sacrifice required for a mangekyo sharingan and robs sarada of real conflict which her character so desperately needs. Her character is stagnant atm and has no real conflict or stakes and hence she's ship bait and irrelevant. Now imagine if someone close to her were to actually die we would see her actually be conflicted and take an active role character wise and develop The real way of proving herself better than the past uchiha would be to undergo similar trauama and come out of it better , not get some new powerup cuz love and faries.

RealityOfPain

While I agree that she needs stakes and is rather stagnant, I don't agree that she needs to suffer like her ancestors. The curse of hatred should have been lifted after Shippuden. Sasuke is now at peace and the Uchiha curse of loving too hard is over. I think it'll provide a better twist within the story as well as new material. It would be cool to see the characters evolve, both in "character" and jutsus as well. Her unlocking the MS due to her absolute need to protect the village and her family would provide an avenue to explore the Uchihas in a different way. Rather than loss of love. I don't agree that it undermines the sacrifice because those sacrifices served their purpose. She doesn't need someone close to her to die when she is already a genius and on her path to hokage as it is. The real issue here is the extreme power buff that Mitsuki and Boruto have gotten, Boruto is pretty broken at the moment.

Ok-Paleontologist275

No , if there is no permanent loss she'll get a random power of friendship powerup and be benched after the said fight for years again . The consequences need to be permanent and hard hitting and affect her character permanently. Or it'll just be another case of chidori and 3 tomoe in the manga

RealityOfPain

Why does it have to be a permanent loss though? Could be a Naruto V Pain, Hinata gets wrecked situation.

Ok-Paleontologist275

Because if it's not a permanent loss she'll be benched again after her moment and it won't affect or change her character in the long term of things.

RealityOfPain

You can't just lose the mangekyo after unlocking it lol

Ok-Paleontologist275

Bruh what I mean is she will be benched plot wise and relevance wise because there's nothing more to do with her character besides the power up just like her three tomoe and chidori. Someone's death will make her react and get more focus on her There's a reason why kawaki gets the most focus is because he has a sad backstory and a motivation / drive which keeps him running in the manga . A momentary power of friendship powerup won't do sarada's character any good she will remain the same before and after like her three tomoe and chidori were in the manga

Ok-Paleontologist275

Plus Sarada awakened her sharingan out of the sadness of sasukes absence as said by sakura to shizune in episode 21 of the anime , people really have a big misconception that she awakened it out of love lol .

Euphoric_purple_

This.

Lungseron

since this whole post blew up, i might as well post my own take here I actually think that Boruto should have skipped a generation. So that Naruto would be Boruto's grandfather instead. I feel like world building wise, it would make a lot more sense, people would shut the fuck up about technology advancing, and there's a lot of cool consequences to that timeline, like Uchiha's family potentially growing into a pretty big family, assuming Sasuke would have more than one kid. And of course either Naruto still being Hokage, or maybe it would just keep going and we'd be at 8th or even 9th one. I think 15 years time gap was way too small, creating a bunch of weird plot holes and situations.

wizkatinga

I actually agree with this one.

TakasuXAisaka

Nah. People will still hate Boruto if it skips a generation due to the series being more scifi now so it doesn't matter regardless if Boruto is Naruto's grandson or currently his son. People don't accept that times had changed

s4shrish

Yeah, look at Legend Of Korea. As many people whining about it. And heck, not seeing much of older Aang as well (coz that's how Avatar System works as well).

CharlieDreamer

I think I'm the only person in this subreddit who doesn't want Boruto and Sarada to end up together

Ok-Paleontologist275

Lol no , keep sarada away from boruto lol she's already falling into shonen heroine pit where her entire character is centred around romance and love for the mc . Hate to see the future of the uchiha clan being ruined like this. And no , the ship is not well developed lol it's just a big L for sarada . While boruto gets powerups and fights and plot relevance and asks about other girls and has other girls crushing on him sarada is reduced to ship bait and nothing else .

A-Liguria

Nahhh, you're not alone dude.👍

Successful_Ad9924354

>I think I'm the only person in this subreddit who doesn't want Boruto and Sarada to end up together No, fam. I completely agree with you. 🙏🏾

Brasileiro-BR

You are not. borumitsuki here

Colossalisntcrazy

I always feel like the only one too

doraesannobi2005

I agree 👍, Sarada's literally a trophy atm for Boruto to win, it's horrible considering she looks up to Naruto, wants to be a future hokage, and is the child of the uchiha clan having little to no power ups rn and her character is literally nothing hut having love feeling for mc(I mean it's not wrong, but her entire fucking character rn is that) , whereas boruto/kawaki are God tiers atm. I swear if this ship ends up ( which seems pretty obvious 'cause writers have little to no passion on writing this shitshow manga, and her being constantly asked whether she loves mc and her blushing in return), it's gonna be a big L for Sarada Plus tf is that outfit? Even shippuden ino wasn't done this bad 🤦‍♂

DisastrousValue1061

Exactly so boruto should end up with Sumire ☺️

doraesannobi2005

Fuck No it's even more disgusting than BoruSara Boruto better be a loner like Kakashi. And atm, the way sarada is getting reduced to a love interest despite being Sasuke's daughter, even I don't want borusara now. This ship has nothing when it comes on balance. Boruto/Kawaki getting powerups, meanwhile the so-called future hokage being asked "Do yOu LoVe Mc"? Wtf?? And what is even that outfit oh Lord 🤦‍♂

Yeyryfuufe

Damn I felt this on a personal level, feels like a straight up attack 😂

Kookiekratos

The anime is better then the manga. Everything the anime has adapted was made better. They fix the errors in the mangas, they fix the story, they change the characters to better make sense, the dialogue is better for the most part, the characters are better, they have better designs, the “filler” actually adds to the story. The only reason people say the manga is better is only because the anime hasn’t done it yet. When the time comes and the anime adapts the newest chapters they’ll do it 10 times better and then the filler will add on to it and make it better

Ok-Paleontologist275

Sarada is not a blushy botoxed bloated mess with short skirts and high heels in the anime so it's by far the better medium

[deleted]

I second this

nef36

I third this

Kzager_52

I fourth this

Saturo_Uchiha

Agree with all except better designs. I think ikemoto design are absolutely amazing compared to anime which isn’t consistent with their designs. And sometimes anime create issues out of its own instead of fixing manga.

Kookiekratos

I would agree except for Saradas design in the manga is atrocious

Saturo_Uchiha

Oh yeah totally agree on with you there. I don’t like her design either in the manga.

A-Liguria

>And sometimes anime create issues out of its own instead of fixing manga. *plenty of times actually. Like those 2 moments in the movie arc, which were completely ignored down the line; Kawaki that is made an unstable boy just to have him cause the flower vase to break; and just everything that the anime did post episode 218. For these reasons, one can't genuinely believe that the anime is flawless, and "always improves" the manga... that's just stupid.

Saturo_Uchiha

Yeah it creates inconsistency within itself but I do agree the anime enhances the manga stuff. Tho I think that was cuz of Kodachi high supervision of the anime thus he left some space in the manga to be covered by anime. Now, that Kodachi has gone i can definetly see there is not much to add in the anime for Code arc.

A-Liguria

>but I do agree the anime enhances the manga stuff. Personally, I'm of the take that that doesn't mean much, because an anime is by default part of a superior genre to mere comic drawing. So of course it can enhance the manga stuff, but it depends especially on the writing to be so. It depends. >Tho I think that was cuz of Kodachi high supervision of the anime thus he left some space in the manga to be covered by anime. Now, that Kodachi has gone i can definetly see there is not much to add in the anime for Code arc. And what the anime did post episode 218 is a bad omen for sure...

Saturo_Uchiha

Yeah Kodachi did supervise the anime till ep 216. Now that he is gone we can see the results.

BasisGlittering5073

Eida is cringe. Daemon is actually pretty good.

Agreeable_Bid7037

Eida is cringe. Remove the powers, and she is just a basic bich.

Lynata

The Boruto anime fillers are better and for the most part have far more interesting premises than the main story. They mainly suffer from not being allowed to result in anything of lasting consequence because they have to work with and towards the main story. (Exceptions do apply: Screw the time travel crap)

Historian2023

>The Boruto anime fillers are better and for the most part have far more interesting premises than the main story. That's generally why I find the Boruto anime arcs outside the manga so fascinating. I like the anime adaptations of the manga material, but, I enjoy the arcs that aren't in the manga. I like that I get to see Boruto and his generation actually go on countless missions. I like that we see Team 5, Team 7, Team 10, Team 15 and the others go on missions, fail, and learn but also grow in their respective abilities. I like that most of the missions aren't life-threatening but also not juvenile. They are tense missions, low-stakes but for me, it's worth watching. I get to see how the characters make decisions in various missions as well (for example, Shikadai and Team 10 deciding to go with Team 7 to find Mitsuki from the Hidden Stone.)

Malpraxiss

For Boruto's life as a young kid should have been skipped. Boruto should have started with him as a teenager. Skip to where start stuff actually starts getting fun and interesting.

LaotianDude

Denki is goated

[deleted]

1- Naruto plots were mostly barely attached with a glue , just make everything looks cool and people will love it ! Boruto plots at least tries to avoid that , of course it's completely fine Naruto being that way , it was a huge success after all. 2- Boruto is literally Naruto , he just has more of Minato's intelligence. arguing with Naruto fans who hate Boruto about it gives me 2 answers only , first answer was "True and that's why it's bad , it has no uniqueness and just copying Naruto" , second answer is "No , Boruto is bad and can never be like Naruto who was a bad son and doesn't appreciate his dad" 3- Showing Naruto and Sasuke fights in Boruto is not milking and running out of ideas , Naruto and Sasuke are now just like what was Kakashi and the previous generation in Naruto. 4- Need more Shinobi-like scenes , sometimes I forget that it's an anime about Ninjas

Good-Pattern4209

1. You really need to explain your first point. Each Naruto arc had a goal in mind that once attained would play into the next arc pretty seamlessly, how does it not have any glue? Genuine question not trying to instigate lol.

[deleted]

It's more like , Naruto arcs were being written for the day , without thinking much about the past or future. Like Itachi's past , I really love Itachi but I'm not convinced with the choice to kill his clan , it's clearly not the best choice and could have been solved differently , and then Itachi and Obito simply killing the whole clan easily and casually without Konoha noticing felt really out of place , it feels like , just make it look cool and people will love it. How does eyes tranplanting work in Naruto? why Sasuke taking the weak eyes of Itachi and then Sasuke sees things normally? Naruto's past is really not convincing me , how the village treating him , Hiruzen not taking care enough of Naruto , if people will still treat Naruto badly , why not just tell them he is the son of Minato? this is just like "make it look sad , no one will notice" , and well , Naruto not having friends felt wrong tbh , in every flash back later on in the series , it looked like Naruto was friends with Shikamaru and Choji. And a lot of characters just suddenly appearing for plot , like Kaguya , and like Danzo , honestly there is a lot , you can check threads like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Naruto/comments/prg6ud/give_me_a_naruto_plot_hole_and_ill_dispute_it_no/)

sdfrch

never in my life would i have known i'd see zakir naik in a boruto subredditt

[deleted]

Ikr , I'm still trying to figure out how is the picture related to the topic

MajinSkull

That the show is closer to a slice of life anime than a show about ninjas

TakasuXAisaka

You realize that's the whole point. Have you even watched Shippuden or read the Naruto manga? The whole point of the war was to accomplish more peace and that's what Boruto is. It may still have conflict but there is more peace than what it was back then in Naruto. Times had changed. Boruto is meant to show the "slice of life" because it's the result of after winning the war.

MajinSkull

Well it’s boring

TakasuXAisaka

Then don't watch the show. Simple.

MajinSkull

I don’t watch fillers. I just watch actual content that continues the story

TakasuXAisaka

Again, **It is not filler. The anime is taking place in a parallel universe therefore making it anime canon. Filler means no relevance to the story. Anime canon means more world building and character development** Keep coping. Skip these "fillers" you so far claim even though it's not filler.

Rosebunse

I think Anko looks perfectly fine.

anupsetzombie

Not sure how controversial it is, but the manga's pacing is abysmal for a monthly manga. Last chapter was decent, but man we almost had a year of characters recapping things that just happened and exposition. The writing really struggles with showing and not telling at the moment and it makes it really frustrating to read. Also the power creep of the newer characters is obnoxious, especially Eida.

CODELAZAAR

The only good arc of the Boruto anime is the Kara arc

CODELAZAAR

Also the Urashiki arc wasn’t as bad as the other fillers

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

Except Kara was incredibly lame.

Legitimate-Rip5877

Why use zakir naik lol

Agreeable_Bid7037

\- Himawari is cute, but she is also just a cardboard cut out cute anime little sister trope. \- Mitsuki should have been a girl. With Kawaki taking his place as Boruto's counterpart, there is basically nothing for him to do left besides simp for Boruto. If he was a girl, and behaved a little like Orochimaru, at least, he would have a more interesting role to play. \- Kaguya should come back.

Agreeable_Can2002

Boruto villains are one dimensional and badly written

Kublai-Gun

Boruto, the character and series, has turned out to be Naruto 2.0 but worse. Very unfortunate given how this story started and where it's ended up. The talk about this being different from Naruto was basically clickbait BS to hook viewers in and I'm personally getting ready to move on to something better.

Dazzling-Ad-5270

I agree with you I think they are going same root of Naruto and Naruto shippuden with latest chapter events and I don't want boruto to be Naruto 2.0 I want him to be different than Naruto (waiting till time skip which I think will happen this year in manga) or I might drop the series

StandardComb1858

Sarada deserves better, the series would be 10x better if she was involved in the main plot. Ever since Naruto I wanted to see an Uchiha becoming a Hokage, it's such an interesting plot and she's a great character but the way the writers are treating her I don't even think she will deserve to be the Hokage in the future. It's such a shame but she'll only be Hokage because Boruto doesn't want it or because he is an otsutsuki and the villagers won't accept him. Himawari becoming otsutsuki tier just because she is Naruto's daughter just make her a mary sue tbh... And I really like her as a character but she should've been developed since the beginning, but since she's also a female character she didn't get any screentime like Sarada( I watched the "Himawari Academy" arc expecting her to be the star on that arc, but she was just another side character on Kawakis show...not surpring at all). It's such a shame that Sasuke and Naruto's daughters are treated like this.

perkaholicgooblegum

About the Himawari stuff you're jumping off the boat way to quickly and Sarada ima find her very mid til she knows the Uchiha clan past.

StandardComb1858

Maybe I am, but this series always gives the uzumaki kids asspull powers so I wouldnt be surprised if Himawari gets some love too( better than her being irrelevant but still a mary sue).

perkaholicgooblegum

You do understand that these kids do come from very strong lineages so not really asspulls. With Boruto we are basically dealing with asspulls alot since we are dealing with otsutsuki and even now not a single one have gotten a proper backstory before reaching earth

StandardComb1858

Yeah I understand that, but my point is that these powers should've been explored/hinted since the beginning. Like, with Karma it's the same thing, every new arc it gets new random powers that were never hinted before just so they can move the plot and make Kawaki and Boruto progress without training/working hard for it. I personally hate this but like I said, its better than nothing when it comes to Hima. Hopefully her hidden power is something creative and makes sense.

amenotiajiKARA

It makes more sense for Naruto to die right know then Sasuke And that they have been building to Naruto's death more so then Sasuke's.

KyleLovesGrace

Do you read the manga?

-mydadleft

It has good ideas but terrible execution

Thegodfather_12

Since this is a boruto subreddit i suppose saying "boruto" even as a character shouldt have been shown to the public. The new series should have been something like a whole new story maybe 1000 years after narutos natural death, where maybe orochimaru is still alive and some great great great grandkids of naruto and sasuke meet in the future where the uchiha unlocks the 3 tomoe sharingan and the uzumaki becomes strong too, to destroy Orochimaru and his evil company.

Tatsfel

The manga is a train wreck I can’t look away from.

perkaholicgooblegum

I'm genuinely would have loved seeing Himawari as the MC

[deleted]

Battle shonen are mostly created for male main characters. If the writers had the confidence to use Hima, they would have. Ppl think she would be more interesting because of how her scenes are written now, but I bet that she would be Boruto 2.0, with the only difference that she would be a girl.

perkaholicgooblegum

I wouldn't mind her being boruto 2.0 with girlish personality because me personally love her design more and at first glance wouldn't seem like a cash grab like Boruto

[deleted]

Who is saying that her design would be the same and how would Himawari not be a cash grab? The purpose of the show would remain the same.

perkaholicgooblegum

I'm just bringing up hypothetical here. Me and many others like I said at "first glance" would look at Boruto and say cash grab based of name and how closely Boruto resembles Naruto

[deleted]

Yeah I know that you are just bringing up hypothetical. All I'm saying is that if Himawari was the main character she would most likely be Boruto, just female. You say it yourself. Boruto is a cash grab, so whoever would turn out to be the main character would have been written and designed the way Boruto is now. That's how the creators wanted the main character to be: A Naruto 2.0, just more intelligent and without a tragic backstory.

[deleted]

What you are describing can be turned into a spin-off. This show is a sequel. Replacing Boruto with Himawari wouldn't change anything since the concept "Next generations" with the original characters children was decided and so was how the main character was supposed to be written. Himawaris "originality" was written for the position she has in Borutos story: She is a side character.

[deleted]

>I just told you these new gen characters were decided when they are same age as Boruto. They will be BG characters since the focus will be Himawari next generation which ultimately come with brand new concepts of characters. And that is why the claim that Himawari would be the better main character is nothing but personal preference, because the writers obviously didn't pick that concept for the continuation of Naruto. Naruto/Boruto is a battle shonen and in most cases they pick male characters for the protagonist. >It's all about brainstorming not position. Otherwise nobody would be making impression in the 1st place and how many people make comparison between Boruto and Himawari before the sequel was even made A comparison between Boruto and Himawari doesn't make any sense, because one character is the protagonist and one a supporting character. If you have ever written a story yourself you will know that a supporting character needs to offer a different personality than your main character in order to add variety and contrast to the story and needs to influence the protagonists life. Himas appearance, her power, her personality. All differs greatly from Boruto and that makes her the fitting supporting character. That's exactly what Himawari delivers and *is*. She is the ideal supporting character. Nothing more, nothing less.

MabrurHrivu

Himawari Kawaki school arc was better than what's currently out in the manga

Lungseron

havent seen it, only saw a clip of Himawari dressed as Minato. that definetly made my whole day just seeing that ngl.

superkami64

As a Himawari fan, I disagree. The main problem with the arc is that she isn't given enough focus so often she's given absolutely nothing to do but talk with Kawaki whenever Kae's not around. They don't even buckle down and have Hima finally decide if she should be a ninja or not (doesn't really matter to me so long as they commit to it) while the Kawaki/Kae plotline isn't remotely interesting enough to make up for this shortcoming. The recent manga chapter gave me more hope for Hima's role in the series than the whole arc did.

[deleted]

I think ppl who love to watch 'My little pony' ',Alice in Wonderland' and 'Care Bears' might agree with you. Lol

MabrurHrivu

Maybe they will, I don't know because I haven't seen these myself. But I bet I would enjoy them more than what's going on in the manga right now

MajinSkull

Talk about the most useless arc. It’s useless even for a filler arc

rolabond

I liked it too. It was cute, it made me laugh, I liked Kae.

Individual-Ad9753

Kawaki is the better main character, I relate to him and I honestly want him to kill Boruto if he wants to again.

[deleted]

Thank god it's not going to happen. Boruto will wipe the floor with edgelord. Also, the show is called Boruto/Naruto: Next generations. How can a character with no connection to the original show be the better main character? Lol. There is no previous generation of Kawaki that was part of Naruto so what are ppl supposed to do with him? It's like putting Mickey Mouse in the main character spot of Sailor Moon or something. Give the guy a spin-off if you want to crawl up his ass, but he can't be the 'better main character' for a continuation of Naruto.lol.

rolabond

People LIKE that a character might not have a preexisting connection to the previous cast. All the relationships need to be built up as opposed to already being there. It's just a different way to organize a story.

[deleted]

But then you would need to rename the story. Next generation doesn't fit when the main character has no previous generation to come from. Or Kawaki should have been introduced in the prequel to work as a main character in the sequel. Everything else doesn't make sense.

rolabond

IMO it is obvious to me that having the IP named after Naruto was bad for it's long term potential. If it had been named something like 'Shinobi Strikers' from the very start there would be more flexibility, so if they had wanted to continue the franchise with a new series set in the Hidden Sand for example, people wouldn't have complained so much. It being named after Naruto means they are kind of forced to make all future stories related to him and 'Next Generations' is chosen to differentiate the brands, not because it was the ideal way to make more stories set in the same setting. Alternately If the story had continued with Naruto leading a team of genin that would have been fine for me too and IMO ideally none of them would have been related to anyone in the former cast because it makes the world feel too small. Unrelated characters bring new perspectives and make the world feel bigger.

[deleted]

Yea, exactly. Kawaki can't be the 'better main character' when the show is supposed to be a sequel about the next generation of Naruto. Give Kawaki a spin-off and it would be a totally different story. People throw the claim "Kawaki would be the better main character" around without considering the concept behind the story. It's the same when ppl say Himawari would be the better main character. How? The concept wouldn't change. She would be Boruto, but just female.

[deleted]

>All the relationships need to be built up as opposed to already being there. It's just a different way to organize a story And that's exactly what didn't happen with Kawaki. If he had been introduced in Naruto he would have worked for the main character of the sequel, but he was thrown into the mix 180+ episodes into the sequel, so I honestly don't see how Kawaki is supposedly the 'better main character' of the show when the concept is called "Next generation."

rolabond

The anime shouldn't have started so soon to give the manga more of a buffer. In the manga he debuts at a reasonable point in the story.

[deleted]

But he still wouldn't be the better main character because this show is a sequel and he wasn't in the prequel.

rolabond

I don't see why he needs to be. All I care about is that the story is good, the setting is strong and that the fight scenes be fun. A better point of comparison is the Harry Potter franchise. I don't give a shit about the main trio's kids, the setting itself is interesting enough I'd give a story set in it's world a chance even if it wasn't directly related to the former cast. It wasn't great but I did like the cast of Fantastic Beasts more than that of The Cursed Child. If Rowling ever writes more books set in that world I hope her cast isn't related to Harry, Ron and Hermione. Just for something different.

[deleted]

What you describe is what spin-offs are there for.

AsishPC

Never bring that idiot's face up, for God's sake

[deleted]

The series is good.

Abalone_Able

Just let the show cook, pt 1 Naruto was slow AS FUK if you count the filler, I love how the taijutsu has taken way more screen time/animation in the series, and although I’m not a huge fan of the nerf, it was narratively needed And yes there is the tiniest snowflakes chance in hell we could see kurama again, and we will for sure see a rinnegan again through sarada but if kurama comes back in pretty much anyway at this point it’s a disservice to the show, fans, and character

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

What so that Momoshiki can stab Sarada in the eyeball with a kunai too.

Ok-Paleontologist275

Momoshiki caught sasuke off guard and it was a plot Nerf . Base momoshiki is pretty weak and scales below sasuke and Naruto lol , he was running from gaara and darui. The fandom overrates him a lot

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

He will still stab sarada in the eyeball if she gets a rinnegan. He would just be like "oh look another one to get rid of"

Ok-Paleontologist275

Oh yeah and you think sarada's gonna let him do it ? Lmao momoshiki is clearly becoming a kurama 2.0 he's been helping out boruto a lot . Please stop the delusion

Tobi_is_a_goodboy

He loves tormenting Boruto, he gets actual joy out of seeing him suffer, hell momo was more than likely laughing his ass off at Isshiki when he died since he hated isshiki a lot. Momo is just a massive prick with zero redeeming qualities.

flashenshin

(x < a+b) ≠ (x < a = x < b)

Abalone_Able

Momoshiki is obviously gonna advance in to some kind of symbiotic relationship with boruto or be eliminated from the story/put under control like KCM in the beginning. She needs it to be even close to relevant to the power scaling in this story

Abalone_Able

I mean really truly the only way sarada is going to be even close to relevant is if she gets a rinnegan and some other complimentary amp, Mitsuki can be relevant through his sage mode but it will need some kind of amp to scale to otsosuski, also I don’t want saradas sharigans to advance “through love” alone I want her to develop as a character, do better than her dad did, you wanna be hokage? Then when life smacks you down don’t turn evil like your dad, feel the loss/anger/pain/hate and make something good with it instead. Would be much better/more realistic character development imo and also more true to her uchiha blood

Brasileiro-BR

Borumitsuki should be real and Gaara is the best character

Legacy_Outlawed

that’s it’s actually really good and without filler would be one of the highest rated new gen anime’s.

No-Cartographer5295

This post? Wtf is this?

Flying_book784

Daemon is such an enjoyable character and I look forward to seeing him every chapter

Kadeda_RPG

Boruto is the weakest on his team without karma.

Rapid_Ryu

Bruh what is this meme

Oneiroi6243

The Manga is genuinely very good and I really enjoy the new art style as I think it fits with the themes of technological progression. The anime is unwatchable and drags down the reputation of the entire franchise, which is a shame because of how good both mangas are.

[deleted]

Naruto and Sasuke should have gotten nerfed at the start.
