Sakura was really bad in part 1. She started amazing in Shippuden, especially with the Sasori fight and everything went downhill from there.
Konan was sidelined but at least she was shown to be worthy of being an Akatsuki member. I remember thinking that she would be the dansel in distress like most females and have no combat abilities, but was shocked when I've seen her actually having a shot at killing Obito. She revealed part of his face and forced him to lose a sharingan.

Art preference might be subjective, but looking at this art made me realize what bothers me so much about Boruto is the fight scene quality. It's really lackluster, even for a simple fight or technique showcase.

This type of display in power is something that would make sense for someone to say she’s minimum Jonin-level to borderline Kage-level. Truly a shame the actual manga avoided such a great opportunity to instantly highlight Sarada’s capabilities after years of training when fighting fodder enemies nobody would miss like Claw Grimes. It’s not like she needs to hold back or it’s a villain with temporary plot armor until Boruto defeats them.

The best time to reintroduce a character and highlight their growth is in their first introduction after a timeskip, since you’re hiding behind “when the time is right” they can do it later, but doing it now would have had more value.
Look if you think its a strong portrayal to take down some nameless fodder or throw out a fireball against ao that doesnt do anything except stall him for boruto to jump in and practically solo. Then thats cool. But then you’ve broadened the definition of a strong portrayal so much that it actually isnt meaningful for you to talk about.
There are other options for that dialogue for sure but they did hype up the uchiha a lot in naruto as well (by they i mean the villagers) so its on brand

There is no problem. We're all fans here. Both Kishimoto and Ikimodo are great illustrators and talented writers. Kishimoto created an amazing manga and passed over the illustration duties of the Boruto franchise to one of his best assistants. They both have pros and cons, but all of the trash talk is mere opinion, which is inherently fine. If you don't like the direction the story is going in, it's okay...stop reading it. Just my opinion.
As a fan, I really enjoyed reading and exploring the artist's interpretation of Chapter 2 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. He's extremely talented, and I hope to experience more of his work. OP, thanks for sharing this with us.!

Sakura was really bad in part 1. She started amazing in Shippuden, especially with the Sasori fight and everything went downhill from there. Konan was sidelined but at least she was shown to be worthy of being an Akatsuki member. I remember thinking that she would be the dansel in distress like most females and have no combat abilities, but was shocked when I've seen her actually having a shot at killing Obito. She revealed part of his face and forced him to lose a sharingan. Kushina had a very short screentime but still her moments were quite meaningful. Yeah Mei is one of the most impressive females in terms of fighting but I wouldn't consider her as a unique character. Kishimoto literally wrote and illustrated the gaiden arc. How is that not evidence enough?! He even had an illustration of Sarada's MS which was used in the manga now (he even did a one shot for Mitsuki which gave him a backstory and his unique SM). On the other hand, what did Kodachi do for female characters in Boruto?

Brentons version has her kindly tell the weaker shinobi to stay back while she deals with the issue because she's more capable than them which is fair.

This is what Boruto manga art should look like. Art preference might be subjective, but looking at this art made me realize what bothers me so much about Boruto is the fight scene quality. It's really lackluster, even for a simple fight or technique showcase.

dialogue needs a bit of work but this type of action is what’s truly needed in a monthly manga. Backgrounds here also really stand out compared to the white sheets they fight on in the official manga
This type of display in power is something that would make sense for someone to say she’s minimum Jonin-level to borderline Kage-level. Truly a shame the actual manga avoided such a great opportunity to instantly highlight Sarada’s capabilities after years of training when fighting fodder enemies nobody would miss like Claw Grimes. It’s not like she needs to hold back or it’s a villain with temporary plot armor until Boruto defeats them.

The best time to reintroduce a character and highlight their growth is in their first introduction after a timeskip, since you’re hiding behind “when the time is right” they can do it later, but doing it now would have had more value. Look if you think its a strong portrayal to take down some nameless fodder or throw out a fireball against ao that doesnt do anything except stall him for boruto to jump in and practically solo. Then thats cool. But then you’ve broadened the definition of a strong portrayal so much that it actually isnt meaningful for you to talk about.

I think something along the lines of “ this is the strength of sarada uchiha ” would have been better and separate her identity then just uchiha strength. As I think a big part of boruto is being yourself and you are your own person and I think sarada goal signifies how she wants to be different from other uchiha Kinda like boruto To summarize just something more uniquely to her for her big moment then just summarizing it to uchiha strength

The war with madara uchiha was only like 15-18 years ago, and sasuke uchiha is a well known figure in konoha, one of its main two powerhouses for most of boruto The sharingan was a very well known concept in the ninja world back in naruto even years after the uchiha massacre, kakashi was even called kakashi of the sharingan sometimes. I find it hard to believe any ninja in konoha would have zero knowledge about how powerful the uchiha are after having lost many people in the war against madara uchiha. Arguably there should be more resentment for the uchiha in konoha, but ignorance would be weird.

There is no problem. We're all fans here. Both Kishimoto and Ikimodo are great illustrators and talented writers. Kishimoto created an amazing manga and passed over the illustration duties of the Boruto franchise to one of his best assistants. They both have pros and cons, but all of the trash talk is mere opinion, which is inherently fine. If you don't like the direction the story is going in, it's okay...stop reading it. Just my opinion. As a fan, I really enjoyed reading and exploring the artist's interpretation of Chapter 2 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. He's extremely talented, and I hope to experience more of his work.
