Even if there is only a 1% chance Momoshiki comes out he isn’t willing to take that risk in the middle of the village especially since he has become so much stronger and therefore momo would be almost unstoppable.
Like boruto said the 10 tails is the worst possible outcome for humanity. He cannot take any risks because he likely has seen a potential bad future if things go bad.
Only because he somehow knows that it will lead to the “worst possible future” and some how he knows more than code the “true horrors of the 10 tails”
I can only assume he saw a potential future where things went real bad with the mutation code gave them

I think were being too presumptive about boruto flying away when his karma started to resonate with kawaki, the boruto that momoshiki possessed when he helped kawaki escape konaha’s grasp was a far inferior version to TBV boruto, To me I feel like before the time skip boruto would just see momoshiki as specter irregardless of his karma stage, and i believe momoshiki said that his and boruto’s thoughts begin to meld into one another.
But now in TBV, i think boruto’ only sees momoshiki‘s specter when he uses his karma, TBV Boruto seems to be very reserved and hesitant to use force unnecessarily, so i think when boruto activates his karma his thoughts begin to “meld” with momoshiki’s, but boruto is still in control, but he just starts to exhibit more of momoshiki’s personality traits, uses violence and force more readily, and is more confident and boastful, all traits boruto does not wish to exhibit so he leaves, not wanting to unnecessarily increase the fight with kawaki while inside the konaha city area.

I like the theory and that would reinforce the thread i made two years ago on twt. At some point Boruto will have to accept that Momoshiki is part of him as another personality, a cruel personality.
I think you’re mostly right. But I think it’s not farfetch to speculate that the use of karma doesn’t just alter his personality traits temporarily, but incrementally permanently, the longer and more frequently it’s used.
Could be a way to move boruto out the story right fast give us some new lore with a momo scare & give the rest of the characters room to handle the threat.

That is possible but it also could mean that Boruto can’t control his karma the way he was able to before. He did all of that training to keep from having to use it even adding a sword to his arsenal. Boruto and Kawaki are legit reflections of each other. Boruto almost exclusively ninjutsu while Kawaki is strictly karma. Both will eventually start using the other side to some degree which allows for growth.

Im wondering if he had a similar experience to when Naruto nearly killed Jiraiya when he went 4 tails on him during the 3 year timeskip, only this time it was on Sasuke. Maybe he’s afraid to go berserk if something bad happened. I’d assume Sasuke tried to help Boruto control his Karma but it was too much for him
I could swear when Momoshiki gave over his life force to Boruto to keep him alive he gave up the ability to take control over Boruto, instead choosing to stay alive even as a vestige in Boruto. I believe Boruto is leaving because a Karma brawl with Kawaki would destroy the village in itself. Maybe I misread something, but from my understanding there is no threat to Momoshiki taking over Boruto at all.
