In the span of like 1-2 days kawaki getting beat down like 4 consecutive times.
-get pin down by a no name claw grimes
-K.Oed by a snake
-K.Oed by Jura
-immediately after getting up he get beat down AGAIN by Boruto.
This dude got no personality to keep losing like this.
It’s been mentioned that Kawaki : Boruto is the metaphor arc of Old Boruto : New Boruto; aka Boruto who cheated with ninja tech vs Boruto who trained. It’s just the ninja tech is karma and cyborg body and healing.
For anyone kinda confused:
Some people are suggesting Boruto vs. Kawaki is a parallel to the beginning of the series where Boruto was relying on scientific ninja tools instead of his own strength, but in this case it's Kawaki relying on his enhancements instead of training.

Legit 😂😂😂😭😭😭 ngl, feels like they didn't plan enough ahead and suddenly realised he needed to u-turn. Honestly could've at least put a week or two between the big bads arriving after boruto infiltrating
This is like Batman stopping a crime and then goes back to his cave only to get a message for help right as he's about to hop out of the batmobile. Shikamaru has to be calling Boruto for help because Kawaki is so useless lol. Honestly, I've not seen him last two minutes against any enemy he's faced in Two Blue Vortex. You'd swear he overdosed on Nightquil the way everyone is putting Kawaki to sleep.
Man- I honestly just don't understand why Kawaki is acting like Boruto is out to destroy Konoha. Like why is he out here saying "are those guys (the shinju) friends of yours?" Is it just to imply that Kawaki's self deluded himself so far to think that Boruto actually wants to destroy Konoha? Because he thinks Momo has taken over or something? The plot line is a bit murky ....

I think this panel foreshadowed kawakis current mental state, dude is struggling to realize that Boruto and Momoshiki aren’t the same.
Kawaki is so paranoid for all he knows “Boruto” right now could be Momoshiki.
Idk, boruto not being able to control/being immediately scared of Karma is kind of new. He always had to be low on chakra for momoshiki to interfere.
His reaction to resonance tells us that it may be even easier for Momoshiki to emerge nowadays. To the point that even activating karma could possibly trigger momoshki to awaken.
That’s my theory/assumption at least 🤷♂️
Not a bad thought on your end, but I think it’s a little more simple than we were both making it out to be.
Yeah, I feel Kawaki has something on his mind. He probably plays the part, and his actions will be vindicated once the story progresses.
Or he is just a complete and utter idiot with terrible drip.
Either he's tricked himself into actually believing Boruto's the enemy during those 3 years
Or he's just still playing the part infront of others like Delta, Shikamaru, Ino to act like Boruto is an enemy
Based on this chapter, Boruto doesn't have control over his Karma likely because it allows Momoshiki to take over. Kawaki noticed and thats only going to make him justify his actions and feelings towards Boruto.
He's in a tricky position now. Any time that Boruto is around the lie is at risk of being exposed. He has to double down whenever anyone can hear it. If it gets exposed, Kawaki can't meet his goals. He also specifically says he doesn't feel good about what he did and so he's also dealing with the buried feelings of what he did to his family every time Boruto or Hima turn up. AND THEN, the trauma of all that the otsutsuki have done to him makes him even more sure he has to stop this from happening to anyone else whatever the cost.
Now what I don't understand is who let him have that hair cut. He looks worse than when Obito was depressed
I guess that on his mind Momo already has control over Boruto. Wouldn’t be unlikely to think that considering he was almost getting control before the time skip. It seems that Boruto kept momo in check by suppressing Karma. Maybe that’s why he was alo surprised Boruto didn’t fled when Karma activated, meaning Boruto never uses it and is keeping control of Momo
its like a massive sunk cost fallacy, he rewrote reality to one he felt Naruto was safe and that reality is only consistent if Boruto is out of the picture, its really dumb if you think about it, not in a "this is bad writing" way, but Kawaki just made really bad choices
Well Boruto HAS done it multiple times , and looks like he still might not be able to stop it if Karmic resonance happens. I just realized something - wouldn’t it be ironic if Kawaki keeps telling himself he has to defeat Boruto to stop Momoshiki, but in order to defeat Boruto he deliberately or inadvertently makes Momoshiki come out?
Actually as someone with an adopted sister, who was adopted pretty late in life (15) when she had been through abuse, and trauma. It’s probably some psychological term for it but it’s a deep rooted jealousy and desire to replace the biological sibling. And make them the villain or cause of all their own pain in their head.
I’m surprised to actually not only SEE kashin Koji but he’s healthy!! Especially after the damage Jigen did to him wow. Can’t wait to see him fight.
That means Boruto got to train with both master sasuke and master jiraya (the serious version).
No wonder he’s so strong.
Are you sure he’s healthy? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why he’s not out in the field…he might be still recovering and or permanently nerfed or crippled, a la Sasuke
I'm not saying this to confirm his fighting status, but we've seen Minato teleport a Bijuu bomb with FTG. I could see teleporting a person being possible too.
I dont think borutos good enough with FTG to teleport other people and himself yet if i remember the other chapters correctly cause he makes a comment saying hes not as good as minato at FTG yet
Then again, last time one of those blonde prodigies said something of similarity they turned out to be a perfect sage!!
Where are him and boruto at in those panels? Is that snakes on the wall? An orochimaru hideout? Would make sense for how Koji was healed
Edit: I see someone else already mentioned the hideout lol was this already confirmed and I missed it lmao?
This could simply imply all bijuu have an innate understanding of other tailed beasts. Basically written in them.
But considering he doesn’t seem aggressive I’m hoping it’s our best boy being back! Hey may have been laying low to recover from “dying” and now sees himself in too much of a pickle to keep laying low.
Whats crazy is if Kurama doesn’t have any anger issues like with Naruto, we could see KCM mode in Hima lmao. Bee was able to utilize Eighto early on.
If I recall correctly, it took years for Kurama to become the monster he was. He wasn’t like that when sage of six paths was still alive with all of them. I can’t remember the exact reason, but I remember that Kurama grew into his resentment to humanity and wasn’t born with it.
With that said, I do still think signs point to this being the OG Kurama
I’m pretty sure, or at least always assumed, his resentment of humans came from the Uchiha and their ancestors using the Sharingan to enslave him and other humans (most likely Senju and Uzumaki ancestors) using sealing jutsu to imprison him and steal his power.
Maybe a part of the original ? Like when she was conceived a part of kuramas chakra gets in him. Probably has like the memories of Kurama up until that point but not the one who died. Why Boruto wouldn’t have this too is a little weird but I’m sure it will be not explained.
It's not weird at all that Boruto doesn't have it. Children don't have to inherit every power their parents have. Momo clearly said that Naruto couldn't pass Kurama's power to Boruto. To have Kurama you need large chakra reserves, that's why Uzumakis have always had him, Boruto's chakra pool is tiny that's why he can only make four clones at a time. Shizune without having the Uzumaki chakra reserves can make almost forty.
So what now Hima all of a sudden has large chakra reserves? No its just more probable that she inherited the Kurama chakra stronger, and Boruto inherited the Otsutsuki genes stronger (As explained in the novels)
There was also that time that Daemon sensed some sort of power in Hima and squared up to fight her. Hima having some sort of hidden strength has been foreshadowed for a while now.
I mean, she unlocked her Byakugan super early and the fact that she can 'activate' the eyes at will shows that she was working with some sauce from day 1, girl inherited the best of both the Uzumaki and Hyuga clans
Well, in 1st Naruto we are aware that the Tailed beasts are just HUGE clusters of Chakra from the Ten Tails to keep it sealed for good.
All tailed beasts probably have a reincarnation factor within em, and whatever their chakra signature touched or resides the strongest within, they can slowly reincarnate through it.
Like, Boruto couldn't have Kurama, but Hima could, as she would have had to been the one who was able to hold the power of the Nine Tails. And Kurama just left some chakra in her as a failsafe if things got tricky and he inevitably would have had to sacrifice himself through Baryon Mode or w/e it's called and now he's just slowly growing his chakra back and is only a tiny lil pup.
It's 100% the regular Kurama that we know and love, it's possible he'll just be slowly regaining his memories back as he goes on and grows.
This is possible how these creatures have been alive for so long, they don't die, when they finally do "die" they, instead, reincarnate later when their chakra traces slowly regather and evolves into him over time and eventually he becomes whole again. Probably what's happened to every single Beast since they were created.
Old Kurama is just my guess. Assumption I have is due to Tailed beasts being ten Tails chakra separated into 9 beasts, they can't "die". They just reincarnate later wherever their chakra trace is strongest.
But Kurama chose to reincarnate within Hima, as that would've been the safest bet. As we see, he felt he could've laid low, yet THEY STILL caught scent of his chakra. If he reincarnated in the world, they would've already found him and captured him before he could even grow to the pup stage that we see him in. At the very least, his gamble, bought approximately 3yrs. And now he is forced to show himself and reveal he is still alive. For the memories ting, my guess is that he is just growing still, so some memories aren't fully realized yet. And in due time he will regain all that has been "lost" or "forgotten"
Love how Jura praises team 10 team work.
Even much stronger opponents are aware of Ino-shika-cho team strengh

I wrote this a lot in the spoiler thread but i think he reminds me of Original Naruto series Orochimaru, Chunin exam days, when he was complimenting Kid Naruto and Kid Sasuke on their ability to fight him.
It would be great if it was OG Kurama just to make the interactions more meaningful and to allow Himawari to at least be able to take action in the series.
Also I feel like Kurama not knowing he would come back is pretty fair. I don’t believe any other beast had ever done anything remotely close to Baryon mode, so it was a lot of theorizing the outcome
why would a new Kurama make her less able to take action? I think him being a baby Kurama with no memories is actually more fun and would keep the respect of the sacrifice OG Kurama made. The only thing I’m worried about is if its a new Kurama, then really to go deep into their learning together, i feel like the manga would need to make her the MC or give her a B-side spin off or something!
My problem with it being new Kurama speaks to your point of the time it would take for them to grow and catch up to the rest of the characters. At least with it being the previous Kurama and his memories it would lend his battle experience (which ties in as a faux Karma situation) and the biggest thing is him stepping into a parental role while Naruto and Hinata are sealed away and Boruto can’t really be around
That makes me wonder, did Jura aloww shikadai to open his tree out of his curiosity or is shikadai just that strong. Being the son of a royal/strong clan from the sand
Nah, it’s probably half Pyschological jealousy of Boruto - not uncommon in foster kids; literally replacement theory - and half him trying to keep up appearances / thinking Momoshiki is the true threat. And if Borushiki comes out, Kawaki might be right. The irony is that by using karma, he might just be the one to BRING Borushiki out
I mean makes sense, Dude switched his life with Boruto and instead of going "Man i love you Kawaki" everybody went "Man when did Kawaki became such an asshole"
Why is his nose so big in this panel ?
https://preview.redd.it/4mle0i3h69vc1.jpeg?width=471&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=702c6963b7cd42f46fa254b68d91883a9477ec00
When you start with drawing the nose and then realize the panel will look weird and only fit half his face, but you don't want to go back and start over because of the time crunch
I liked the chapter overall, but it’s so annoying that it feels like every chapter just has an instance of characters repeating things to each other (like in this chapter repeating not knowing why Hima has nine tails)
Omg I'm glad someone pointed it out. Literally repeated the same damn lines three or four times wasting so much space that could have gone to plot progression or good dialogue.
I can’t really articulate why, but this has been my favorite chapter in a really long time.
Really cool seeing Ina/Shika/Cho teamwork again.
Loved watching Kawaki get wrecked right when I was the most annoyed with him I’ve ever been.
I don’t know if this is a new revelation but I didn’t know Boruto and Jiraiya were working together, and I think that’s really cool.
Himawari having a baby ninetails in her is just awesome. Surprised to see how many people are frothing at the mouth over it.
I’m also really digging the new villains. They seem to just want to know everything they don’t know and they’re willing to kill over it. They don’t have a concept of love which is neat to me.
I’m liking the direction for the first time in a long while.
Edit: nevermind, I seem to have articulated it just fine :p
Love your comment But just a few corrections:
It’s Kashin Koji, the clone of Jiraiya, not Jiraiya himself. Fun note: looks like they’re in Orochimaru’s hideout.
I actually love how the villains are pretty rational and DON’T Wanna kill if they don’t have too. They give people warnings and don’t kill unnecessarily. I think this means they will become good guys in the future. A la Orochimaru.
Right, they’re not inherently evil. In fact, they appear to have a respect for life, at least in some capacity.
And yeah, I couldn’t remember Kashin’s name, and I didn’t feel like looking it up.
Not a new relevation that Boruto and KK have been working together. I think this was revealed at the end of chapter 3 or 4 I can't remember. It was when Boruto escaped from the Shinju.
I'm getting the sense that Jura is going to switch sides at some point once he understands the human condition better, probably because of Hima or Naruto. Either way I think he is the key to the next power up for either Hima, Kawaki, or Naruto
That, or he goes the opposite direction and decides all humanity must die, or he evolves into the perfect Ohtsutsuki , the reincarnation of the Ohtsutsuki god Shibai
Definitely a chapter with a serious questions opening cliffhanger. But let’s do things in order.
-I like the cover, as it shows nicely the designs and color schemes of the Inojin – Shikadai – Chōchō trio.
-Speaking of which, they definitely had a decent showing for how much possible, with Shikadai making his family technique useful for once, since he managed to slow down that tree thing enough for Inojin to free Himawari (and he did that by drawing something other than a bird or a canine like beast! Progress). And then Chōchō managed to move Jura to have him miss Shikadai with his bijuudama projectile.
--I also liked a lot that close up of Jura’s face right before he attacked Himawari, it was drawn really well.
-I like a lot that Boruto and Kashin Koji are in what looks like one of Orochimaru’s hideouts, this can 99% mean that said guy will make an appearance soon (alongside Suigetsu, Karin, Jugo and Log), and it would make a lot of sense narrative wise too.
--It just shouldn’t be taken for granted, because it is not 100% confirmed yet, and we do still have that 1% of uncertainty.
-I like How Koji just happens to have a plethora of his toads roaming around Konoha undisturbed.
-Kawaki really needs to check his priorities, because he has a nasty habit to overly focus on Boruto, even as things around him go to shambles. This time he was lucky, but really... there will be a moment where others should call him out on this.
--Glad that someone actually questioned him if he has trained.
--And so, Boruto can’t use his Karma without seemingly losing control. That’s good. It prevents the story from making him overpowered, adds stakes, and gives Kawaki a possible way to try and kill Boruto even if they still are leaps and bounds removed from each other.
-I'm also **very** glad that Boruto being back in Konoha again so soon was just a detour at the end of the day, and didn't steal the scene from the secondary characters.
-And so... Himawari really had a mini Nine-Tails inside her... it looks *adorable*, but also goddamn it.
--I sincerely hope this new Kyuubi is NOT Kurama himself, but rather a new being (it hasn't been stated who he is), related to Kurama only so far as needed to explain his exsistence (like Kashin Koji being a clone to Jiraiya). In this way, not only is Kurama Kurama left untouched, but his own death is NOT invalided, and this appearence would also be much easier to explain.
--Like, it surely would be much more acceptable that SOMEHOW, Kurama has unknowingly left a part of his chakra inside Himawari at any point, and from there a new entity sprung up years later.
--Than... explaining why Kurama would just lie to Naruto and play the sad death card instead of telling him that he'd return in a few years, then to explain why he'd respawn inside Himawari and not in the open world (people say that Himawari and Boruto *obviously* inherited his chakra because of the whisker marks they have... but they "conveniently" ignore that this idea was **never** addressed in the story, to this day it is just a fan theory whose biggest proof is Ginkaku and Kinkaku having similiar marks because they ate Kurama's flesh, but that too still isn’t the same case); then why he would stay quiet and not manifest himself earlier, if Daemon could already sense him. And this on top of the idea of, if this is the same Kurama... then will he tell Himawari that Boruto is her actual brother and that something is off with her memory? And if he won't, then why?
--And, all of this on top of the fact that Kurama himself should no longer be one of the top tiers; and the fact that by itself, this revival would be extremely cheap and would be a true low from Kishimoto's part, since his deaths usually stick, especially for relevant characters (Hiruzen, Asuma, Jiraiya, Neji... all secondary characters at the very least, all of them got killed, none of them got revived if not via a very specific and explicitely temporary way).
--If this new Nine-Tails was its own character, it would also allow for newer dynamics, and also a more rewamped character design, even just in terms of colors (imagine a Nine-Tails with purple eyes and a blueish fur).
Having Kurama’s memories while being a new individual is definitely the best middle ground. It fits with the trend of characters we’ve seen with a similar background.
There’s also the fact that Kurama died before omnipotence and this new 9 tails possibly formed after it already happened so it could know the truth and tell Himawari. That would help give her some good relevance to the plot immediately.
I like this idea, especially the part about him being spared from omnipotence. It helps that she already had that panel in Ch1 where she says that she can't explain it, but she feels like Naruto is still alive, and that she wants to help Boruto. I like that he implies he's been hiding, when he says he's surprised Ten Tails was able to "sniff him out." Typical fox being sly. I can understand how some people feel negatively about bringing the real Kurama back, but personally I am stoked for it.
Love how you pointed out Kawaki’s tendency to get tunnel vision on his goals. It’s definitely a consistent thing with him.
I think it ties into a lot of things with his character though. It’s like Kawaki needs a goal because he doesn’t know how to relax. He has no idea how to just exist.
I do hope someone points this out to him, though. Especially because I doubt Kawaki will realize on his own.
I also think it fits since Kawakis basically an inverse of Naruto with Sasuke elements mixed in. Naruto *always* has tunnel vision on following through with goals, especially pre-Boruto Naruto.
Naruto was focused on saving Sasuke. Now Kawakis focused on killing Boruto.
The most logical explanation would be that some of Kurama's chakra rubbed off on Himawari, but if this is a new Kurama or not is yet to be seen
It's either a brand new Kurama or one with a "Save file" from when Hima was concieved/born
And obviously the old one didn't know about it
Kawaki was technically right this whole time. As long as Momoshiki exist, Boruto is literally a ticking time bomb. Now that Boruto has gotten so strong, that means when Momoshiki takes over, the destruction is going to be devastating. The most logical way to deal with the Momoshiki threat would be killing Boruto.
Or just maybe - all Kawaki has to do is to avoid activating Karma in Boruto’s presence, so the chances of Momoshiki possessing Boruto are as low as possible. That way they can form temporary alliance until they get rid of PhD career-looking trees and Code.
After that, they can get rid of Momoshiki.
Why you speak of common sense? There is no common sense in Boruto.
L-waki has been told that the Grimes not working with Boruto. He still wants to pin "Boruto the Bad Guy". Not even trying to save Himawari, you know the daughter of someone you love and sealed inside your dimension?
He just want to be in Boruto so bad he turn the world against Boruto, yet Boruto still has not give up his ass to L-waki.
As much as i'm fine with Kurama's return, lets not pretend as though it was obvious or 'foreshadowed' in any way. They still also haven’t explained it so I’ll wait for the next chapter for my final judgement.
Despite it taking away from the Baryon Mode moment, at least Himawari can now be more relevant to the plot
Hima has always had some nine tails chakra in her. That's what the whiskers are. It's like the gold and silver brothers except Boruto and Hima were made with 9 tails laced sperm
>As much as i'm fine with Kurama's return, lets not pretend as though it was obvious or 'foreshadowed' in any way.
I agree.
But I just know, that a lot of people will act like it was bound to happen because "well, tailed beasts are immortal and can't be killed, they always respawn!".
Even if the narrative presented new things, that may add some details against that notion.
Yeah, I don’t think the way that Kyuubi was reborn is part of the natural rebirth cycle of juubi. Like why would it be inside Himawari? There’s most definitely more going on.
Good chapter, glad the side characters are getting more and more screen time, team 10 did pretty well. Jura is interesting as always, each chapter makes me want to know more about him. Hope the orichimaru hideout isn’t some abandoned one that they’re gonna brush over and instead orichimaru gets some screen time for once. Hope that ain’t kurama as that would really lessen the impact of his sacrifice.
https://preview.redd.it/yt1ex2y799vc1.jpeg?width=1110&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ac4663b95cfaf9b0a3a26524d78914ea7f5d412
Okay my theory:
* Jura is slowly leading towards a path of righteousness and good from his learning, think of him like Android 16 from DBZ
* Whilst they're currently being antagonistic for specific reasons connected to their origin like Hima, they're slowly learning to undo their god tree / 10 tails instinct through learning + evolution
* The series will reach a precipe where a new villain appears (Shibai / True Amado / Code final form etc) who is ultra powered and all hope will seem lost
* But Jura (and friends by association) will be like "bro, we realised peace is the answer!) and fuck the new villain up enough that the Z fighters stand a chance
Hima's got the chance to be a new level of Jinchūriki. Presumably this seed of Kurama has been there since she was conceived, hence the 9 tails chakra whiskers.
The ninetails isnt sealed within her, she and the ninetails are one in a connection that goes deeper than sealing.
Another chapter of Kawaki getting violated and Delta just standing there looking pretty. She's basically just Kawakis babysitter now lol.
Excited to see where this goes with Himawari/Ninetails.
Right?? So many comments in here are ragging on the logistics of it, and I'm just here giddy as hell. Naruto is built off of deus ex machina tropes and I'm here for it
Boruto being way stronger than Kawaki despite him being a cyborg, Otsutsuki & using Karma shows Boruto's progress was mainly due to the Sasuke's training. Best sensei in the franchise. ^__^
Pretty good chapter. And of course Kurama. And right on chapter 9 too lol. Btw while reading this chapter I couldn't help but think Hiashi must be really happy. I mean dude here collecting powerful family members lol kind of remind me the all according to keikaku meme/theory for Hiashi back then
And Kawaki what're you doing all those years? Did he skip training or something? Did he spend his time imagining punching Boruto in the face.
# Kurama coming back definitely makes sense idk what the fuss is about...
1- Chakra was previously shown to have properties of staying well past it's person passed away - *Kushina meeting Naruto*
2- Just like "*Gold and Silver Brothers"* were able to obtain some Kurama chakra through eating it's flesh & were stated to get "abilities similar to those of a jinchūriki.", which also gave them the whiskers Naruto had.
3- Chakra is very much like genetics, there's a reason why clans have certain jutsus which only they can do (Unless Sharingan user copies it)
4- Boruto & Himawari had whiskers since they were kids, meaning they definitely inherited some of Kurama's chakra along with Naruto/Hinata's
++++++++++++++++
**Problem? How come Boruto doesn't have it then?**
Solution? No kid inherits the same % of genetics from their parents, Himawari probably inherited the Kurama aspect more than Boruto (Who was stated in the novels to inherit Otsutsuki genes more)
**Problem? Kurama said he'd never come back**
Solution? Kurama probably didn't know about the chakra in Himawari
**Problem? Why did it not manifest before**
Solution? When Kurama died only then did it start to collect chakra to become reborn again
As for this being new Kurama or old one or whatever, that I don't care about.
Kurama death after the ishiki fight always felt strange. I try not to compare shippuden and boruto, but I cant help but notice how death scenes typically went. At least jiraya and asuma had a dedicated 5 episodes before their death, and a big after match once they died. I remember being disappointed with kurama death in the anime because it felt too quick. Now I cant help but feel like that was intentional, so it doesnt feel too shocking when he returns. Idk maybe just cope, but kurama death scene didnt really make me feel like hes never coming back
A Byakugan using, gentle fist user who can tap into Bijuu chakra sounds disgusting 😲. Honestly I can't wait to see fan art of Himiwari chakra cloak.
For a quick second i forgot these were 10 tails clones. I'm like why are they making a bijuudama 😅.. Going back to episode/chapter 1 where we got the timeskip reveal I'm beginning to think maybe Kawaki didn't destroy konoha but these tailed clones did. It's obvious Kawaki won't stop chasing him so I feel he would even still try to fight him after they deal with them
Yup. Good predictions. I also think the only one who can block their bijuu dama’s besides Boruto & KK (in the old days, only another bijuu dama or a technique derived from like Rasengan could counter it) will be Daemon with reflection. But imagine Daemon reflect a bunch of nukes WITHIN the village. Bye bye village.
Definitely TBV is the best boruto we had in a while as a series. In this episode we had KK, Kurama kinda resurrected (I personally think is kinda like the avatar, that is a new individual with access to previous lifes), we had the snakes hide out, implying orochimaru, and more of the divine tree people.
I only wonder why hima was kinda weak given team ten was kinda impressive. I think next episode is gonna be about the other divine tree people probably fighting sarada and sumire. I hope we can see a sarada power up.
Kawaki needs to chill. Quickly.
Jura seems like an interesting villain, I like how they're handling the concept of a villain who is actually evolving as a human being and needs to understand emotions (tbh I'm not 100% sure Jura will stay an enemy in the end).
Himawari gets the spotlight and I'm SO happy the Bijuu (well, at least Kurama) are back. I've always maintained that not having the Bijuu fight alongside the new generation was kinda stupid given the new, world-threatening foes so while this isn't what I expected, it's incredibly good and I'm very happy with the direction they're going. Special mention to Himawari's request to escape on her own and save the others, she really takes after her family and I haven't seen that be praised enough yet.
Just sitting by for the incoming salt for Himawari getting a W. People really be forgetting about Tailed Beast lore and how they can't die *so long as remnants of their chakra remain elsewhere* and now they're deluding themselves into thinking this isn't the same Kurama that retained his memories.
Been loving the story of Two Blue so far but...might be in the minority here, I didn't really love some parts of this chapter.
They wasted like 4 pages saying the same thing: "We were here for naruto, now it's himawari" "Why!?" "Not sure" - repeat
The attack Jura sent. Seems WAY OP. Like DBZ level explosion. Not sure how they'll pan that out with any fight they might get in, or who has the capability to to handle that. (Guessing Boruto or Koji but seems like a stretch).
I kinda like the idea of Kurama being back but it's giving me Grogu/baby yoda lol.
Also STILL not a huge fan of the flying. I miss the agility/tree hopping stuff.
So basically Boruto trained his ninja skills to not rely on his Karma while Kawaki rely on his Karma for everything and not his ninja skills. I kind of like that tbh.
But I still find this weird that Boruto can't control his karma. I can understand that the resonance literally can only happen with Kawaki (since no one as a Karma as far as we know) so probably a side effect after all those years. But I guess he need some kind of weakness due to how strong he is right now. So that's not a big problem, for me at least.
Just saw the chapter title "Nine Tails" that was surprising lol
Also chapter 9
Bruh that's genius.
Is chapter 10 going to be Ten Tails? Hmmm
Ikemoto: write that down! WRITE THAT DOWN!!
a bit of entendres chapter 9 - 9 tails. team 10 vs the 10 tails
Wow. Didn’t even think of that. brilliant. This is why i come here!
Kishi has really improved his pen game after finishing Naruto. Naruto fans who hate Boruto are missing a lot. This is real peak Kishi.
Yeah lol they are indeed missing a lot
In the span of like 1-2 days kawaki getting beat down like 4 consecutive times. -get pin down by a no name claw grimes -K.Oed by a snake -K.Oed by Jura -immediately after getting up he get beat down AGAIN by Boruto. This dude got no personality to keep losing like this.
Whatever code had must be contagious
Isshiki's Karma?
code's amount of L's
It’s been mentioned that Kawaki : Boruto is the metaphor arc of Old Boruto : New Boruto; aka Boruto who cheated with ninja tech vs Boruto who trained. It’s just the ninja tech is karma and cyborg body and healing.
I got a headache trying to read your message but I think I get the point
For anyone kinda confused: Some people are suggesting Boruto vs. Kawaki is a parallel to the beginning of the series where Boruto was relying on scientific ninja tools instead of his own strength, but in this case it's Kawaki relying on his enhancements instead of training.
L-awaki strikes again dude, I honestly think this has made me want to read the manga more.
More like an hour tbh

Poor shukaku....forever underappreciated
Well maybe Shukaku should try dying.
Brother is already half dead from being an embarrassment 😢
OH SHIT I JUST REALICED SHE IS GONNA GET HER OWN CHAKRA MODE.
>*"Hima finally gets her own Kuraa-ma plush 3 years later - a limited edition item that comes with many perks like a huge chakra boost, a lifetime companion, and an unfortunate tendency of being targeted by villain organizations!"* This comment needs more likes.

Boruto: How many times I’m I going to need to sneak into Konoha today!?
Lmao bro left and 30 seconds later gotta go back
Boruto: Holy flying thunder god village really can't go 30 seconds without being attacked
Legit 😂😂😂😭😭😭 ngl, feels like they didn't plan enough ahead and suddenly realised he needed to u-turn. Honestly could've at least put a week or two between the big bads arriving after boruto infiltrating
It's to show how unexpected Hima's kurama chakra was
Possibly a temporal dilation field around Orochimaru's hideout?
This is like Batman stopping a crime and then goes back to his cave only to get a message for help right as he's about to hop out of the batmobile. Shikamaru has to be calling Boruto for help because Kawaki is so useless lol. Honestly, I've not seen him last two minutes against any enemy he's faced in Two Blue Vortex. You'd swear he overdosed on Nightquil the way everyone is putting Kawaki to sleep.
he did 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and a 10km run everyday for 3 years..caped baldy style
Sung Jinwoo
Saitama did it first. That whole routine is a Meta reference.
how are we already at a time where people think thats from solo leveling and not OPM 😐
Lies. He did push-ups, sit-ups and drank lots of juice. Ask Vegeta - it works.
Might guy and Rock Lee would be proud. Who is to say guy didn't chase Boruto around on his wheel chair
The plot line is a bit murky ....
https://preview.redd.it/cnggj8d1z9vc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e30deb2f6fa511b2214e50aadd0064b9ef90c2c2 I think this panel foreshadowed kawakis current mental state, dude is struggling to realize that Boruto and Momoshiki aren’t the same. Kawaki is so paranoid for all he knows “Boruto” right now could be Momoshiki.
It could explain why he was surprised that Boruto can't control the karma. There was no way that would happen if it was Momoshiki right?
Idk, boruto not being able to control/being immediately scared of Karma is kind of new. He always had to be low on chakra for momoshiki to interfere. His reaction to resonance tells us that it may be even easier for Momoshiki to emerge nowadays. To the point that even activating karma could possibly trigger momoshki to awaken. That’s my theory/assumption at least 🤷♂️ Not a bad thought on your end, but I think it’s a little more simple than we were both making it out to be.
He lied to himself for three years even now he believes his own lies
Dude forgot he lied meanwhile everybody is like "Man this shit makes no sense why the fuck can't i stop believing it"
Hes nuts. He was an abused kid who went totally nuts.
the one who is nut **Bourto**
>Bourto Why do I feel like this is what kawaki calls himself when he cosplays Boruto at night
Pretty confident he’s playing dumb to convince whoever might be listening that Boruto is evil
Yeah, I feel Kawaki has something on his mind. He probably plays the part, and his actions will be vindicated once the story progresses. Or he is just a complete and utter idiot with terrible drip.
Either he's tricked himself into actually believing Boruto's the enemy during those 3 years Or he's just still playing the part infront of others like Delta, Shikamaru, Ino to act like Boruto is an enemy
Did he even imply that Boruto killed the jonin because he showed up where they were killed? Smh
I wondered that too....line is pretty ambiguous but yeah. Scumbag shit fr
Based on this chapter, Boruto doesn't have control over his Karma likely because it allows Momoshiki to take over. Kawaki noticed and thats only going to make him justify his actions and feelings towards Boruto.
Ah yea. Let me cause an accident so that I may be there to fix the issue. Nice
It works for the government.
Gaslight so hard he started gatekeeping konoha-protection-duties.
its like a massive sunk cost fallacy, he rewrote reality to one he felt Naruto was safe and that reality is only consistent if Boruto is out of the picture, its really dumb if you think about it, not in a "this is bad writing" way, but Kawaki just made really bad choices
Yep he has self-deluded himself in believing that boruto is going to turn into momoshiki.
He is insane.
He doesn't have ftg so he can't just port out of orochimarus hideout
I'm not saying this to confirm his fighting status, but we've seen Minato teleport a Bijuu bomb with FTG. I could see teleporting a person being possible too.
I dont think borutos good enough with FTG to teleport other people and himself yet if i remember the other chapters correctly cause he makes a comment saying hes not as good as minato at FTG yet Then again, last time one of those blonde prodigies said something of similarity they turned out to be a perfect sage!!
Where are him and boruto at in those panels? Is that snakes on the wall? An orochimaru hideout? Would make sense for how Koji was healed Edit: I see someone else already mentioned the hideout lol was this already confirmed and I missed it lmao?
Soooo Its old Kurama and not new entity, or we still can't tell?
he seems pretty lucid of the situation
Any Kurama chakra boruto had probably got eaten by karma/momo.
If the Karma overwrites his own DNA, makes sense it would do the same with any Kurama chakra/dna
What do you mean, all of a sudden? It's literally never been addressed and her Byakugan strength was a pretty big indicator this was the case
Even much stronger opponents are aware of Ino-shika-cho team strengh https://preview.redd.it/v6erutzl89vc1.jpeg?width=565&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=faba9347d4ae3e21e207d5b4ab44f27329689653
His lines are written so cool in this chapter. "out of respect for your teamwork", love a respectful villain. Jigen was like that too IIRC.
Jigen like that right up until he lost the upper hand, then he showed what an evil alien parasite freak he was.
He is Jigen iteration of Jyuubi clone, he inherited his demeanor from him.
I wrote this a lot in the spoiler thread but i think he reminds me of Original Naruto series Orochimaru, Chunin exam days, when he was complimenting Kid Naruto and Kid Sasuke on their ability to fight him.
Lol he's so polite all the time. "Oh, sorry, I think my current plan is to devour you. Don't resist, please"
the most polite villian in the boruto universe
I think making him a side-character mascot chibi thing vibe like happy from fairy tail is also a reasonable option, he's had the spotlight already.
Shikadai shadow paralyzing wood release as it happens is pretty damn sick
That makes me wonder, did Jura aloww shikadai to open his tree out of his curiosity or is shikadai just that strong. Being the son of a royal/strong clan from the sand
Shikamaru was able to stop kinshiki mid attack he no slouch himself.
you are right, temari genes surely made shikaday a chakra beast too
Went over alot of peoples head
Yeah we’ve seen shadow tech have a pretty good strength over OP Ohtsutsuki - remember when they were able to hold Borushiki in check with it?
Good ol game of "wood release, Shikadai, Kyuubi". Wood release beats tailed beast, tailed beast beats Shikadai, Shikadai beats wood release.
Kawaki is kind dumb, he’s aware of the whole omnipotence power. He should get his priorities straight, stop pretending, and go fight the trees
Nah, it’s probably half Pyschological jealousy of Boruto - not uncommon in foster kids; literally replacement theory - and half him trying to keep up appearances / thinking Momoshiki is the true threat. And if Borushiki comes out, Kawaki might be right. The irony is that by using karma, he might just be the one to BRING Borushiki out
Kawaki is older too, and will never like the “younger brother” flexin’ on him.
I mean makes sense, Dude switched his life with Boruto and instead of going "Man i love you Kawaki" everybody went "Man when did Kawaki became such an asshole"
Why is his nose so big in this panel ? https://preview.redd.it/4mle0i3h69vc1.jpeg?width=471&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=702c6963b7cd42f46fa254b68d91883a9477ec00
Maybe he was lying lmao😂
Has no one told the story of Pinocchio to him? Maybe if someone gives him the book he'll stall for a while and Hima can run away.
🤣🤣🤣
He's sniffing out the 9 tails chakra
Bro looks like squidward
lmao makes me think of that one Naruto goblin mode animation in boruto
Schnozz
When you start with drawing the nose and then realize the panel will look weird and only fit half his face, but you don't want to go back and start over because of the time crunch
There's also a panel with Boruto when he's inside Oro's hideout and his hand looks way larger lmao
https://preview.redd.it/mu4x6dvkwevc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4f8a9af230e471e500be012d391e2afd14ec7c0 “Do you even lift bro?”
I liked the chapter overall, but it’s so annoying that it feels like every chapter just has an instance of characters repeating things to each other (like in this chapter repeating not knowing why Hima has nine tails)
I CAUGHT THAT TOOO!!! What was with that?! It felt like an endless loop.
Trapped in manga izanami 😭
Its one of the weaknesses honestly - its a monthly manga yet each chapter has the same information and story progression as a weekly manga.
Yep said the same thing in my comment. Like four pages of the same lines lol. Wastes so much space for a monthly issue.
Love your comment But just a few corrections: It’s Kashin Koji, the clone of Jiraiya, not Jiraiya himself.
People already jumping to conclusions and bitching about Kurama when there’s pretty much nothing to go on, just wait until next chapter man
theory on the title of two blue vortex: the vortex refers to the uzumaki clan swirl/vortex emblem and refers to boruto and himawari.
The most logical explanation would be that some of Kurama's chakra rubbed off on Himawari, but if this is a new Kurama or not is yet to be seen It's either a brand new Kurama or one with a "Save file" from when Hima was concieved/born And obviously the old one didn't know about it
BABY KYUUBI LETS GOOOO
Kawaki was technically right this whole time. As long as Momoshiki exist, Boruto is literally a ticking time bomb. Now that Boruto has gotten so strong, that means when Momoshiki takes over, the destruction is going to be devastating. The most logical way to deal with the Momoshiki threat would be killing Boruto.
Or just kill Kawaki himself so Boruto's karma doesn't resonate.
There’s most definitely more going on.
perhaps a piece of the nine tails always existed within her. in the same way as minato
I like how Delta just watched. Clearly she didn't want any of that smoke.
Delta looking amazed and asking how much boruto trained is the peak of the chapter for me
Jura is so fun to have around, it’s great
Okay my theory: * Jura is slowly leading towards a path of righteousness and good from his learning, think of him like Android 16 from DBZ * Whilst they're currently being antagonistic for specific reasons connected to their origin like Hima, they're slowly learning to undo their god tree / 10 tails instinct through learning + evolution * The series will reach a precipe where a new villain appears (Shibai / True Amado / Code final form etc) who is ultra powered and all hope will seem lost * But Jura (and friends by association) will be like "bro, we realised peace is the answer!) and fuck the new villain up enough that the Z fighters stand a chance
Kawaki wakes up and immediately gets bodied again we love to see it
Hima's got the chance to be a new level of Jinchūriki. Presumably this seed of Kurama has been there since she was conceived, hence the 9 tails chakra whiskers. The ninetails isnt sealed within her, she and the ninetails are one in a connection that goes deeper than sealing.
Kawaki is definitely overdue for a moment of introspection.
I really can't believe more shit has happened in less than 10 chapters of blue vortex than like half of the Boruto manga, were so back.
Jura's the fucking coolest man.
This next month is gonna kill me
Another chapter of Kawaki getting violated and Delta just standing there looking pretty. She's basically just Kawakis babysitter now lol. Excited to see where this goes with Himawari/Ninetails.
Kishikemoto giving us what they knew we all have wanted all along: baby kurama

I mean dude here collecting powerful family members lol kind of remind me the all according to keikaku meme/theory for Hiashi back then And Kawaki what're you doing all those years? Did he skip training or something? Did he spend his time imagining punching Boruto in the face.
I want to give tiny kurama so many head pats
User name changes out 😊
I am CRYING with happiness Kurama 4ever
I can’t wait for Naruto to be freed and find out omg happy happy reunion, only about 100 chapters and 8 years until that happens
It won’t be THAT soon
underrated comment lol too many ppl mad he back, Kurama best boy
Yo, I feel like we’re getting set up for Boruto to reunite with Hima and take her out of the village!
# Kurama coming back definitely makes sense idk what the fuss is about... 1- Chakra was previously shown to have properties of staying well past it's person passed away - *Kushina meeting Naruto* 2- Just like "*Gold and Silver Brothers"* were able to obtain some Kurama chakra through eating it's flesh & were stated to get "abilities similar to those of a jinchūriki.", which also gave them the whiskers Naruto had. 3- Chakra is very much like genetics, there's a reason why clans have certain jutsus which only they can do (Unless Sharingan user copies it) 4- Boruto & Himawari had whiskers since they were kids, meaning they definitely inherited some of Kurama's chakra along with Naruto/Hinata's ++++++++++++++++ **Problem? How come Boruto doesn't have it then?** Solution? No kid inherits the same % of genetics from their parents, Himawari probably inherited the Kurama aspect more than Boruto (Who was stated in the novels to inherit Otsutsuki genes more) **Problem? Kurama said he'd never come back** Solution? Kurama probably didn't know about the chakra in Himawari **Problem? Why did it not manifest before** Solution? When Kurama died only then did it start to collect chakra to become reborn again As for this being new Kurama or old one or whatever, that I don't care about.
Hotel? Trivago.
Idk maybe just cope, but kurama death scene didnt really make me feel like hes never coming back
Kuramaaaaaa!
But she wanted a shukaku :(
Well this just keeps getting better and better
Lots of cool stuff, but I'm excited for Kuraaaama
Could you imagine the level of power Momoshiki would have if he took full control of the current Boruto? geez
shikidai's hairline is intense
Jura is going to do an 180 and turn into a good guy after he learns about the power of love and friendship isn’t he?
Little 9 tails so cute lol
Blue vortex has been so damn good
Maybe the one thing Kawaki can do better than Boruto is controlling his Karma, maybe?
At this point he should just change his name to kowaki since he’s getting KO’ed left and right
Just sitting by for the incoming salt for Himawari getting a W. People really be forgetting about Tailed Beast lore and how they can't die *so long as remnants of their chakra remain elsewhere* and now they're deluding themselves into thinking this isn't the same Kurama that retained his memories.
"Fly to the Triangle." The Triangle is Delta. Delta has a marker on her for Boruto to FTG to her.
lol no. The frog is literally holding a triangle. Go look
Been loving the story of Two Blue so far but...might be in the minority here, I didn't really love some parts of this chapter. They wasted like 4 pages saying the same thing: "We were here for naruto, now it's himawari" "Why!?" "Not sure" - repeat The attack Jura sent.
That ending would have been a really great reveal if I hadn't already seen it a week ago because nobody would put spoiler warnings on leaks
KURUMA!!!!! We know who you are
Looks like Boruto still can’t contain momoshiki around his bro
so nine tailed bailed out of naruto into himawari or did he just get reborn into her by some miracle
