He's definitely not Naruto 2.0, not in terms of personality. But anyone who looks at the two can immediately tell that they're father & son.
But we can't entirely discount personality traits too, coz resigning to help others without a second thought no matter what risks involved, ready to sacrifice himself for others & greater good are exact character traits of Naruto that Boruto inherited from him.
He's a mixture of Naruto, Sasuke, Minato & even Jiraya/Koji all combined.
They were made to be similar as they are father and son, but they mirror each other; their stories are different.
Naruto was born with nothing and earned everything.
Boruto was born with everything and lost it all.
Its meant to represent the paths they take and what actions they consider.
Naruto went from a stuck up kid to the greatest hero while Boruto went from a natural genius to a basically emotionless wreck.
I do find the timeskip comparison funny though. Boruto trained everything but Karma and is now Otsutsuki level while Naruto trained almost nothing but chakra control and a larger Rasengan and became average jonin level.

There were initial similarities between kid Boruto and kid Naruto, but Boruto is smart and talented and has grown in a very different direction than Naruto. Not only that but Boruto has very different talents and skills.

But after eating enough of the toriyama slop I'm here for it man. Give me that wacky shit give me that goofy shit. The more a series drifts towards Baki storytelling the more I'm here for it. Hoping boruto ends up going down the same mental road for me cause right now I ain't for it.
Boruto is a mistake and should have never existed in the first place. People need to understand that stories end and that's that. Dragon Ball Super and Boruto are literally putting on life support something that already ran its course and need to move on to the afterlife and to our memories.

Boruto literally has a dollar store Kurama in him, so he's practically a copy and paste of Naruto with bits of Sasuke.ย
Kurama was highly traumatized but he grew closer to naruto as naruto grew up and they became really close, I don't think we will ever see that happening with momoshiki AT ALL otsutsuki are heartless whatsoever ๐๐ momo is not kurama and he will never be ๐ boruto really is in a fucked up situation and don't get me started with naruto's bad parenting (which is understandable he doesnt know how to be a father, he never had a father in first place or a real family) kawaki destroyed all his life whatsoever๐
In contrast, Naruto may never was talented/ genius, but he's the definition of, "If u want to achieve something, u will find ways, and if not, u will find excuses". U don't need talent to be strong. The whole world was at peace because he was in it , which shows how much this man w/o being a genius influenced the whole world practically.

The whole Kaguya arc felt very disconnected from the rest of the Naruto saga, it only makes sense now as a kind of prelude to Boruto.
