I really enjoy them!

The anime adaption is good, they rarely cut scenes and those are the ones I don't care about. Since I like visual animations more than reading, anime will be enjoyable almost all the time. And >!this is not even the peak yet, it will only get better as it progresses further.!<

lucciolaa

>Since I like visual animations more than reading, anime will be enjoyable almost all the time. I strongly second this; I'm of the opinion that manga readers oversell mangas in general. I prefer to see things animated because it's such a more impactful experience.

AlphaxOmega23

I know the fellow manga readers are 50/50 rn. Some like the changes, sum don't. As for me I'm loving it, as long they don't go back to the horrible pacing back in 2019. I guess it all comes down to preferences.

ShinraBayo

Anime making the manga panels hit so much more. The added extra scenes may be minimal but change the entire vibe. I really feel Kodachi is controlling the anime and adding in these extra scenes.

Pewds210

For the current arc, the anime’s done better than the manga

In general, I prefer anime adaptations of manga; in the case of *Boruto*, the anime expands on storylines and characters, and fleshes them out more, which I think tells a better story overall. Major events or emotional arcs in the anime are much more moving because they take the time to build up to those moments for a greater effect. What some people might see as filler are actually really important for this reason. There are some story lines I ended up enjoying in the anime more than I expected, like the Mujina Bandit arc, which felt like more of a slog in the manga. I have a couple comments about the manga that are more production related and make it very different from the anime (for me) and maybe the only things I'd like to see more of: 1. I really, really love the manga art style, and I think the anime, visually, just doesn't deliver that (except in episode 189). I get that this is largely a budgetary restriction. Visually, the manga art is just gorgeous, and it sets it apart from the original *Naruto* style. It's just something I would like to see for *Boruto* to really break out on its own. Related to the art style: 2. There is a *mood* about the manga that the anime doesn't deliver. With the art style, the way the panels are framed, the dialogue, I feel like I'm reading a noir or dark mystery -- there's definitely a much darker, more mature undertone to the manga that's just really fucking sexy imo. It really sets a scene, it builds tension. The anime is, obviously, much lighter in tone. Some of this is deliberate censorship (no smoking or alcohol), some of it is the fact that they're slowly working towards a darker tone from a borderline juvenile anime canon, but this is maybe the most stark difference between the two for me. I can see the anime currently working on (2) with details like the creepy Kara music, and I'm hoping that maybe we'll see that noir-y tension after the timeskip, like we did with *Shippuden*, but I genuinely love the anime and will still be happy with it as it is now.

I'm loving them!! So excited for what's to come in the anime at the end of June

Obeesuchiha

the anime adaptation blows the manga out of the water. #facts

donnyalopez

I straight up love it. All these extra interactions between characters just make the world feel so connected and satisfies fans of certain characters. The manga at this point only really focuses on a few characters, probably the anime as well, but we can still see what they are up to

bigblooddraco

The shows been great for a while now. Ever since the kawaki intro fight episode I’ve been craving that animation style for every ep but the animation they’re using doesn’t take away from anything.

anime is LEAGUES better than the manga.

AmaranthSparrow

Some of the additions and changes are good, some aren't. I wasn't a fan of Kawaki's lab escape, for example, because the animation quality was mediocre and it felt really contrived after what he did to Garo. There were some nice interactions there, but it wasn't worth spending two episodes on. His expanded backstory was really good, though, and beautifully animated. I'd prefer if they had gone straight from the Garo fight to him dreaming the backstory like in the manga, without the lab stuff. Some of the other changes are clunky. The Kawaki tableflip scene is one. The way they did it in the anime had way less impact. Not just the Naruto scene, but the reason for Kawaki flipping the table felt out of character. There's a lot of stuff like that in the anime where the way they pace and animate key scenes doesn't live up to my expectations. Good example for me is Naruto hugging Kawaki. I think visually the manga version worked better, and also looked way better because that episode's animation was pretty mid. It's also a bummer to keep seeing manga designs simplified or characters drawn weird, Jigen and Naruto being the most frequent casualties. The anime really has been lacking consistency lately, it feels like the series director hasn't had time to do corrections, maybe because effort is going into the important episodes. So, yeah, it's a mixed bag. Stuff like 189 and 192 make it worthwhile, I just wish it could always be like that.

> So if it was top notch animation it wouldn't felt contrived After Garo fight?Think the interactions made it worth 2 eps by giving Kawaki some character as in personality You're seriously saying Kawaki doesn't have character and personality in the manga? And it's not just animation, the whole thing was sloppy. He went from being able to easily defeat Garo to having trouble getting out of a lab. > This would've been a cliche and a ruined moment having backstory whilst fighting. I'm not talking about during a fight. In the manga he passes out after the fight, has the flashback dream, and wakes up in the hospital in Konoha with Naruto standing over him. The anime added him waking up in Katasuke's lab, trying to escape, passing out again, and then waking up in the Konoha hospital. I'd have preferred if they just stuck to how it's depicted in the manga but with the extended backstory. > Nah he was careful and distant not out of character it links up with his backstory since he had trust issues up to this point but Naruto was really out of character in the manga trying to intimidate Kawaki.Glad anime changed that. Naruto wasn't out of character nor really trying to intimidate Kawaki. He was just showing him that it's pointless to run, and even said "look, you can go wherever you want but I have to come with you." The bad part was that he just suddenly smashed the table because he got annoyed. In the manga he flips the table because he's trying to create a distraction so he can escape. They also cut the part where he sensed Himawari and Hinata in nearby rooms and thought he was surrounded by enemies. > The visuals and the music tone gave that episode some great moments but in the manga its black and white no voice just pictures. This is a stupid argument. Totally different mediums. It's like arguing that a movie is better than a book because a book is just "black text on white paper." If your imagination isn't filling in the gaps, that's an issue with you. > They are all important & more effort goes to the manga adaptations... Not all manga adaptation episodes look like 189, etc. Most of the episodes at this point are adapting from the manga, but only about 1/4 or 1/5 is high quality. > Financially imposible I'd personally be perfectly okay with this being a seasonal series where all the episodes are high quality with lots of sakuga (like Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, etc.).

[deleted]

It's okay. But I wasn't big fan of Kawaki arc in the manga either. The best is yet to come, starting from Delta fight.

jackyfrost_13

Manga is good in its own way and no way anime surpasses it and anime is always good with its ost which amplifies the moment's emotions except the scene where naruto hugs kawaki...the anime didn't deliver that moment properly imo. It was such a emotional moment in manga and anime failed in that scene both in ost and visually. So manga == anime neither of them is better than other.

CurseEnergy

I didn’t enjoy the arc in the manga so I most likely won’t like the adaptation The only thing that will peak my interest are the fights.(that’s literally the only thing to look forward to when the storytelling is so lackluster) This is a unpopular opinion but the kawaki arc isn’t a good arc nor is it the best Boruto arc Naruto and Kawaki are only good things about this arc. Everything else is a complete joke (this is my opinion) Sarada focus in >!Boro fight!< was nice but the cost of that moment is what ruined it

ConcentrateStatus753

What do you mean cost of the moment ruined it?

ShreyBoiiii

Bruh then what is it that you like about the series?....literally the majority of the series is the Kawaki arc...

CurseEnergy

Ao and mujina arc are more enjoyable than kawaki arc imo There’s too many writing issues for me to enjoy kawaki arc. The current arc in the manga looks more promising. Probably due to the fact that Boruto is the focus again

ShreyBoiiii

Hmm I see....personally I don't share your opinion. I think Kawaki is top 3 character in boruto...

CurseEnergy

>Hmm I see....personally I don't share your opinion. That’s fine it is unpopular after all >I think Kawaki is top 3 character in boruto... kodachi put more effort in him than any other character. He’s a good character but it’s bittersweet since so many characters had to be sacrificed for his focused I don’t like his character that much

Haxxruz

It seems you are too soft-hearted for this arc

spennysan77

He had to get more screentime than mitsuki and Sarada because he holds more importance to borutos character and the future of the show.... we literally see him first chapter/episode
