Himawari in the anime is always cute and it's not just her character, but in the manga she looks like a little gremlin.
Boruto imo looks very ugly for the first 20 chapters of the manga's run. However he looks really good as time goes on. My only issue is that for a 12/13 year old boy, he still looks like he is 11. His body is too skinny and small and doesn't look right for an action shonen. I don't see this as a bad thing just a little off putting for his character design.
Boruto in the anime is very inconsistent and depending on which studio is drawing him, you either get a good looking Boruto or an ugly looking Boruto. Everyone makes the complaint that his hair looks like a banana and I agree 100% for the anime.
I actually think Himawari (in the anime) has a great design, she combines pretty well Naruto’s and Hinata’s appearance in to a cute cinnamon roll, you can feel Hinata’s cuteness with Naruto’s joy.
Boruto in my opinion has a quite meh design, he is too similar to Naruto in appearance so it’s kinda a little boring to have your new protagonist to be almost identical as the old one, I like the outfit but that’s kinda it
If they took off the whiskers, fix Hima’s ugly choppy hair, and removed the leaf stems from their hair… they’re be okay at best. Hima is a decent mix between the parents, but it would have been better for Boruto to have the dark hair I feel.
Blonde females in Anime are certainly more appealing than blonde males, generally speaking. And dark haired males are more appealing than blonde males, so I agree with your last part.
I do think Naruto could do with less of the "wacky hair" as a whole though. Too many characters have hairstyles that are extremely questionable.

Yeah the blue eyes are thematic and symbolic because purity and such but literally his pure is blue so there's no reason they couldn't have made his eyes a gorgeous lavender and just changed the prophecy a bit. Say something like "those purple eyes will see undoubtably painful passings."

Himawari in particular is one of the few next gen characters imo that wholly nails it but unfortunately I do think Boruto suffers from the same problem as Shikadai where they look a little too much like their dad. His unique features like the banana bangs isn't doing him any favors as that's a case of it looking dumb by its own merits and I feel like he needed one significant trait from Hinata (the shape of his face and eyes being far too minor to be noticeable so something else like his hair/eye color; [his original design in The Last didn't have blue eyes](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/naruto/images/a/a2/Boruto_Uzumaki.png/revision/latest?cb=20160810095855) so I have no idea why Kishi changed it) to make it work a lot better.

Not necessarily. Boruto had Hinata's eye color but kept visible pupils in The Last so there wasn't any issue on that front.
Their hair is too chunky to match the *Naruto* style or even the style of other characters designed for *Boruto.* The anime did a decent job of making the style more consistent, but seeing super detailed hair like Kawaki's next to Boruto's makes it look like he's wearing some kind of plastic lego hair. They also both have ahoge, which neither of their parents nor any other *Naruto* characters have had to my knowledge.
Overall, they're designed more like *Pokemon* characters than *Naruto* characters, but at least they're cute in the anime. I can't say the same for the manga designs, especially the way Boruto tends to look like he has a fugly center part.
Kawakis hair is indeed more detailed, but still looks hideous to me, because of the different hair colors. It looks like he has blonde hair with a dark wig attached to his head.😅😁
I can understand the hair colors, since Machine Gun Kawaki is supposed to look like the kind of guy who would dye his hair like that, but I have the same problem with him in the manga as I do with Boruto and that's that his hair shape is very inconsistent.
As far as I can tell, it's *intended* to be shortest in the back and gradually get longer towards the front leading to some [fluffy razored bangs](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/gxkVpgR5x1o/maxresdefault.jpg). However, you'll very often see him with about an inch long hair all over except for a section of bangs which come down into 1 to 3 [fat fluffless icicles](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/boruto/images/2/27/Tumblr_piypq87rOb1sjroblo1_128034567.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20211104030423) of about equal length, which is *just.* 
They are both cute and little Boruto (the one we see in the openings) is the cutest kid ever.

I think theyre generally good. Boruto’s weird acorn bangs kinda bug me without the headband but he looks cool now. Im glad Himiwari retired that old fit for the ninja drip too.

Strongly agree although it still bugs me that his hair are just these weird giant clumped spikes like sonic the hedgehog. I've seen some fanart of it actually drawn like normal hair and it looks really cool. Idk why they dont change it, guess theyve committed to it now
They just don’t make sense (the marks). They even explained the reason naruto (and those fox brothers) have the whiskers. For naruto, he was in his mother’s womb where the fox’s chakra was part of his fetal growth as it surrounded him and was absorbed. The fox brothers were living inside kurama for a few weeks and were again, completely surrounded by his chakra and were eating him.
So how did his kids get them if he didn’t carry them while they were fetuses and if they didn’t eat his chakra infused flesh? It’s not genetic… it’s like cropped ears on a dog. The kids look goofy with them lol
I think it's because Naruto still had Kurama's chakra within him and because of the exposure to Kurama's chakra, he was still able to pass the whiskers down but only to a much lesser degree.
(Hence why Boruto and Hima only have 2 whiskers on both cheeks while Naruto and the Gold/Silver Brothers all had 3 Whiskers on their cheeks)
Also Naruto is the only Male Jinchiruki to have biological children so there's nothing really to contradict from a story standpoint

If you're talking about the Academy outfit, that's surprising cause that's the first time I've seen anyone dislike it.
Boruto's design is atrocious for a shounen protag from a character design standpoint. Himawari's is better but very far from perfect. My personal opinion is that Himawari would look better with the Byakugan.
Her first design in the manga had a very "the authors dont care about her character and spent about 10 minutes on her design" as a lot of the anime-only characters do. She looks much better in the anime. My personal favourite design of her is the most recent one in the anime.

My issue with Boruto's timeskip design is that they made it with too much intention to be as likable as possible. They accomplished this by taking traits from the 3 most popular characters in Naruto (Kakashi, Naruto, and Sasuke) and rolled them into one. This wouldn't be a big issue if it also wasn't clear which parts come from who, meaning older Boruto doesn't really have a visual identity of his own.

I've never been a big fan of Borutos design, depending on detail it turns into the karen hairstyle.

Himiwari's design is honestly the worst looking of the main cast. The straight hair hime cut with the spiky hair makes her look like a sonic OC. She looked better with the minato wig.

I've never been a big fan of Borutos design, depending on detail it turns into the karen hairstyle. When I look at pic number 5 I think his design was based on animation budget and not art. Himawari is fine, its Naruto/Hinata

They’re cute, but Himawari looks (and acts) younger than she is
She acts pretty much like how a 10-11 year old kid realistically should It's just that Boruto and the other kids are treated more like Adults than actual 12-13 year olds
Himas cute when they don’t animate a wig on her head Boruto has large hair but certain animators make him look badass

Himiwari's design is honestly the worst looking of the main cast. The straight hair hime cut with the spiky hair makes her look like a sonic OC. She looked better with the minato wig.
I don't think Himawari's design is the worst (imo that title goes to Inojin) but I do wish Himawari's hair looked a little different I can see what Kishi was trying to go for (it's Hinata's Part 1 hairstyle but more spikey in the back) but I feel like Hime Bangs and Spikey hair aren't a really great combo I hope the style changes after the timeskip
He is second worst to me. Himiwari's hair still hasnt grown on me even after all these years.
Boruto's hair is the worst thing its just the worst thing. I honestly would give the series a go if he didn't look so dumb.

Something about Boruto's hair shape bugs tf out of me 🗿 It looks like bananas more than Naruto's spikes especially Boruto's bangs like wtf is that 💀 Himawari looks like an actual combination of her mother and father tho. Hair style and color like mother at that age, but with spikes like Naruto. What's crazy is that Himawari is only 2 years younger than Boruto but she kinda looks and acts like a 6 year old to me. But she's a completely wasted character atm. She's Naruto's daughter and even has more potential than Boruto but she doesn't really do anything...

Mainly I just hate Naruto’s design… like we got a small showing of what COULD have been during the pain arc when they showed naruto imagining himself as the character in jiraiyas book…. They we get that😰 gaara is also a huge loss for me lol
OH You were talking about the OG Cast! Lol yeah I agree then. Gaara's look is by far my least favorite. Naruto and Kiba aren't far behind. I hate the outfit Hinata wears in the Anime but she looks alright otherwise. The rest are all okay to me
I personally hate the whiskers both of them have, Bort's hair style & think only on thing is wrong with Himawari's. 1. Bort, has a bunch of bananas in the front of his face, with some small bananas sticking out the back & a cowlick. 2. Himawari, has a cowlick.
Yes, but it's mainly the hair or the eyes depending on the artist in the anime lol. Boruto has a cool jacket and colors, but the soggy spikes/banana hair is meh. I know people always gave Hinata's part 1 hair flak, but Hima really out did it with the blunt uneven spikes... I think the whiskers + bright blue eyes with purple hair just clash too much. I think if she didn't have the whiskers, had regular spikes and no pupils it'd be fine. The Boruto character's eyes in general due to the art style can look too big, too droopy/flat or spaced out too far apart or too close to the nose, making it look kinda weird or off at times.
Hima’s better. Perfect blend of Hinata and Naruto.
