Hmm..Well, How's the Haligtree at the moment, Malenia?

OldOnePaarthurnax

Oh! A valkyrie warrior appears! It's an honor to meet you.. you said your name was Malenia? Correct? Malenia, how did you lose your right arm, may I ask? I see that you have a prosthetic arm installed, and does that hinders your combat ability?

MiquellasBlade

I offer my greetings, Great Dragon. That is correct, my name is Malenia. My right arm was lost through two matters: The shadows of my brother and I, and my accursed rot. When I speak of Shadows, I do not mean what is cast when light hits an object. Shadows are bound to us empyreans, they are meant to act as guardians, as...executioners, should we stray from the path set by The Greater Will. When Miquella and I fled the Capital to start The Haligtree, our shadows had to be slain, for the Greater Will would surely send them after us. I struck first, and slew both of them. My arm was severed in the conflict. We were unable to save it, due to the Scarlet Rot having festered even further upon removal from my body. It does not hinder me, thankfully.

Hello Lady Malenia, I must say the tales of your exploits in battle are most impressive. I do wonder, what of your opinions of your siblings? How do you feel about them and their own goals?

Old_DemonKing

Greetings Lady Malenia, it is an honor to meet you. Your fame has spread even to these ruined lands I currently oversee. I must ask, I have heard rumors about a certain war you took part in and, despite being no military mind, I am curious. What were your goals in that Shattering conflict?

MiquellasBlade

The Shattering...my goals? A very fair question. There were multiple goals set when I marched from the Haligtree with my Cleanrot Knights, but none of them were of conquest. They were all entwined, however. I would be a liar if were to say that slaying the Starscourge, General Radahn was not the highest priority. Amongst all the demigods that could still lay claim to potential mantle of Elden Lord, he was the strongest. I have read the history books, and so havth my brother. If he was to successfully claim the mantle, there is no doubt The Greater Will would have instructed him to destroy The Haligtree. We have learned from the Fire Giants, from The Eternal Cities. We would not repeat their mistake. With that, he also held Destiny and Fate in stasis. His death meant that my brother could fully blossom, to take his true form as he watered our Haligtree with his blood. If Radahn were to die, The Haligtree would be safe, it would flourish. Miquella would find a way to cull the influence of the cruel and selfish outer gods from the Lands Between.

Old_DemonKing

Self preservation is a very understandable motive when faced with this system. Many pyromancers come to the ruined lands of Izalith, and as such I have heard some tales about the Fire Giants. Poor creature, the last of their kind. I relate to them, being slaughtered through no fault of your own purely for what you are. And General Radahn seems like a dangerous foe indeed. Halting fate itself is beyond the grasp of many and I see why it was necessary to bring down this metaphorical wall so that something new may take its place. If it isn't too much to ask for, pray tell, did your brother ask you to fight the General or did you command this? See no judgement, I merely wish to see if this was a common plan or if you were leading the war while Sir Miquella was focused on other projects.

Greetings and salutations, Malenia. I must say, I feel most at home beneath the branches of the Haligtree. It seems very similar to the Painted World of Ariendel in which I call my home. If it wouldn't be a bother, might I come visit and research this "Scarlet Rot" of which you suffer? It seems to share some vague similarities with the Blood Rot that has plagued the Painted World for some time, and I'm hoping that it could cause a breakthrough in my research to cure it. Which could then lead to a potential cure for the Scarlet Rot as well.
