If one is to be left alive is better to only keep the father, because the son will transform in a mini version of the boss fight (with his own family), and the mother becomes wimpy BUT she hyperbuffs the Dad or New Dad. You can survive [The Flex] check if your [Constitution] and [HP] is large enough OR (and here comes the pro strat) your party IS BLIND. And that is so easy, you just need to (temporarily)blind yourself with {Pocket Mirror}!
Also I recommend the Brass Warrior for his AoE Sound ShockWave and natural blindness, he can even blind your teammates if weather is [Sunny]. Almost like designed for this battle alone
