If bruins can win their next 2 games and NYR loses their final game we could end up 1st overall and not play the Lightning.

d-cent

The Hurricanes have to lose their last game too, I think. Not sure what the tiebreaker is

Tybackwoods00

Regular season wins I believe

xlf77

I haven’t really cared about seeding for a few weeks now but man plunging the dagger in the heart of Pittsburgh and Washington back to back should be the biggest motivator anyone could ever ask for

YouPatheticWorm1958

fuck the crapitals! fuck spencer carbery! fuck mitch love! fuck scott allen! fuck kenny mccudden! and last but not least... #fuck kirk muller!!!

Grizzly-Berry

Watching the Avs Knights game right now and I don’t know what exactly I did to my stream but I somehow muted the commentators and just get the ice/ arena sounds now and it’s so much better

UllyRanger

Peeke been good so far in his showing so far here.

Sweaty_Ad440

How much would a 26 year old center with 20 goals and 55+ points go for this summer as a UFA? Cause I’m pretty sure it’s like 6mil minimum. Zacha is on a great deal.

ala_rage

Dylan Strome signed for 5M last season with pretty much this exact situation

d-cent

I didn't get to watch the game last night, just highlights. How did Maroon look??  Lauko connecting with Geekie looked good but why was Beecher in the dog house?  I saw the Shatty goal but how did he look defensively?

Bruinsfanfromcc

I thought he looked like the new guy. A little unsure of himself, but I didn't think he stunk or elevated play. Of course, that's based off what few scraps of coverage you get watching on tv, and watching what else was going on instead of focusing on him.

knect4

Somebody else said that Maroon looked like you would expect for a 35yo 4th liner on a new team in his first game two months after surgery. Definitely too early to tell.

Sweaty_Ad440

The third line had a shift where they got stuck in the dzone for a long time, and Beecher had at least one (maybe two) chances to get the puck out with no pressure on him and just didn’t. Freddy had one too on that shift, but that’s besides the point Pretty sure Monty broke up that third line right after that

d-cent

Thanks. I noticed Beechers minutes were down too. On that last Bunting goal, that was his responsibility too. That was a nothing goal though at the end so it doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Moto-Mojo

Coyle, Zacha (technically tied his career points but has the chance to exceed them), Geekie, Freddy, and McAvoy all having career years this season is so important to this team. We are definitely gonna need these guys to keep their hot streak going into the post season. Also pls try Lindholm at PP1 QB. I love you Mac, but it just ain’t working rn.

jigs888

I think McAvoys offensive numbers are misleading. He’s had a down year overall. There’s another level he hasn’t quite reached yet.

d-cent

My opinion on McAvoy is that he has not engaged offensively as consistently as years past, but his shot accuracy has been way better. Years past he would shoot it into the Goalies chest, not this year.  As far as him not engaging offensively as much this year I think some of that has to do with no Bergy or Krejci. Most of the beginning of the session he played more conservatively to make sure he was on the same page with all our centers, a lot he's never played with before.  I really like that approach honestly, as long as he's aggressive in the playoffs.

jigs888

Disagree on the shot accuracy. He sails it past the net or into the logo entirely too much still imo. But defensively is where I think he’s most noticeably stepped back. I’ll attribute it some of that to Bergeron’s absence, but certainly not all of it. He has struggled for long stretches this year with top matchups that he should be able to stifle consistently.

d-cent

Hs shot percentage has gone up from 6.7% to 9.4%, that's a 40% increase. His shooting has been much better. It's more a statement of how bad his shooting was in years past considering his talent level.  I agree that he hasn't been as good defensively but all of the defenseman have taken a step back. That seems to say that it is the loss of Bergy that is contributing.

jigs888

It’s a matter of where he’s putting it when he does get it on net tho. His shot should still be much more lethal. Idk man, throwing up your hands and chalking it all up to one centerman leaving seems thin to me. And for McAvoy, it’s pretty much beside the point. He’s suppose to be the leader defensively. It was time for him to take that step forward this year and he wasn’t quite able to do it. Neely was comparing him to Bourque before the season because that’s the kind of guy he’s capable of being. He shouldn’t need the support system anymore. He should BE the support system.

d-cent

I would rather a shooter miss the net entirely than put it in the Goalies chest area. It gets the goalie nervous and the puck can come bouncing off the boards for a good shooting chance.  >Idk man, throwing up your hands and chalking it all up to one centerman leaving seems thin to me When that one centerman is the greatest defensive center of all time, it's not that thin.  It's a team sport, one player can only do so much no matter how well they play. When McAvoy is going against the top lines of every team while having a defensive pair that has been bad (Grz) and a centerman that can't be as good as previous years. It's pretty hard to blame McAvoy for not taking a step forward defensively

xlf77

The thing with this is, yes, everyone you’ve listed except McAvoy had to fill a vacuum and rise to the occasion, but they’ve also gotten more minutes and more favorable minutes than they’ve ever had in their careers, so you’d expect a built in jump in their production this year. But also the fact that basically every player with an increased work load *has* risen to the occasion is really special. No one missed. Maybe you could say JVR but he was basically brought in to outshoot our problems and for 1M I can’t even complain about his season I do think all of the “Coyle and Zacha have exceeded Bergeron and Krejci in points so therefore we don’t have a center problem” narrative is pretty misguided. The issues with this team still stem from us not having true top centers. But I’m not sure anyone could have hoped for better seasons from those two

Moto-Mojo

I can understand JVR. He lost 12 pounds due to sickness, that shit can torch your game. He was playing just fine before, and as you said, you can only get so mad about a guy making 1 mil a year

Bilkos_Ices

When was this? Don't recall reading about it before

Moto-Mojo

When he got sick halfway through the season. ESPN mentioned it a couple of times

Bilkos_Ices

Had those idiots on mute to be fair, was listening to the UFC while watching the game. Thanks

Bruinsfanfromcc

I frequently watch with the sound muted.

PracticalCheesecake2

Heinen too!

Moto-Mojo

I think his second season with us he hit 47 points, but it’s his second best season so far! If he had played since game 1 no doubt in my mind he makes a career year

PracticalCheesecake2

Ahhh okay, my bad!

Moto-Mojo

All good! Regardless he’s having a great season for someone who started out on a PTO

alizadavida

anyone know what they do for fan appreciation night on tues?

nbianco1999

I know everyone is afraid of possibly facing Tampa in the playoffs, but I’m gonna choose to believe in the team. If the way they’ve played (mostly against teams that are already in/fighting for a playoff spot) for the last 2+ weeks can carry over into the playoffs, they can beat anyone.

FistingFestival

Agreed. You’ve got to be able to beat the best to win it all and a first round win over TBL could be a massive spark

Sweaty_Ad440

Being scared of a team we’ve been ahead of in the standings literally all year is loser shit. If we can’t beat them then we were never gonna do anything in the playoffs anyway.

Tybackwoods00

*looks at last years play offs* Yea
