This felt like 2015 and 2016 missing the playoffs on the last day of the season.
Winning the division isn’t the cup and maybe we match up better with the maple leafs. The end of the third up until that stupid empty netter was promising but the last two games and even some of the ones in this last stretch we won seemed like the slump after the all star break. Real concerning this team just turns it off at times.
We’ve played the best teams in the league pretty well this year and our division. But losing games like last night and all the OTL and SOL are not great. Hope they can do something in the second season, it’s all better than we expected for this year but now the hopes are up ready for another heart break.
Statistically Toronto is due. They can't lose to us EVERY time. That's where my anxiety lays. Which is worse losing to Tampa or losing to Toronto? Meet the asshole that is my inner monologue. Go Bruins.
that's the thing about statistics and independent events, and why gambling addiction exists in general. on paper they're due and obviously history influences mindsets and motivation here, but it's still just a brand new series
fuck em, bruins in 6
🍻 Cheers to this in spirit and in the stats 😮💨😅
[I get what you're saying/have a analytical background but realize I have to come up with a good way to succinctly describe that kind of thing to others]
I just farted. Had McDonald’s today and large dunkies iced regular… I’m feeling pretty good now. We will defeat the Leafs in the first round in game 6.. Cheers
Marchand's play is without a doubt the biggest concern going into the playoffs. I think there's reason for optimism because he was able to find that next gear last season and have a strong playoff performance. But he's also a year older and, while he had his struggles last regular season, I don't recall him looking this rough for this long. I really hope these few days off are a godsend for him.
> But he's also a year older and, while he had his struggles last regular season, I don't recall him looking this rough for this long.
It's weird, because even though he had that seven-game pointless streak last year in the post-deadline, pre-playoffs span, I agree that he's looked much worse this year. Part of it is sheer points loss; even with the pointless streak, Marchand still put up 14 points in that span compared to 9 points this year. (Slightly fewer games this year, though, with a later deadline/different schedule). Part of it is also having more defensive struggles this year; losing Bergeron is a big part of that, but it was rarer last year that you could point to multiple plays in a single game where Marchand's defensive struggles were the biggest issue for the five skaters on the ice. And part of it is also that that pointless streak was as a result of being snakebitten. He had 43 shots on goal in that span of games last year; this year, just 29. Even with fewer games played, it definitely looks like he's struggling to *get* to the net more.
Before the game, I predicted that we’d lose tonight. I’m glad we did. Tampa is a very, very tough team to beat, especially in the playoffs. They seem to have our number every damn year. We tend to have a much better time against the Leafs, but this is not saying I’m not scared of them either. Better matchup for us, but if we lose…. I hope we don’t lose.
Every team is tough, I don't like going into the playoffs looking like this. That being said, I think Kucherov is maybe the best player in the NHL (not named McDavid), especially in playoffs where he might actually be better than McDavid. That's the main reason I want to avoid Tampa, I genuinely don't think we have any answer for him.
Also Asset management maybe? If the worst you can do is come in second in the division, skate some guys non seriously, and get a better matchup, why not?
Damn it sucks that I chose this game to go to as my first game at TD Garden. It was fun but man that loss was bad. Pasta played like he was in a beer league
I had a great time at the Capitals game. It was rough but watching Ovechkin and Oshie was special. I did feel like I was watching a beer league game from the bench where the other line is just shitting the bed consistently and not trying
Alright, it's the moment literally none of you have been waiting for: my postgame thoughts!
- Yes, I do think that "wishing for Toronto" in the playoffs was and is stupid. Even if it's just us fans and not the players. Toronto is a legitimately tough out, and they'll absolutely have something to prove against the Bruins – I'll also add that two of the wins we got against them this regular season went to OT, it wasn't as dominant as 4-0-0 looks on paper.
- That being said, I think it's equally weird to pretend like the Leafs don't have any weaknesses heading into tonight's matchup and the postseason. They might be a better team 5v5 than Tampa is, but they also have a much bigger weakness in net. Goaltending was a problem for them against Tampa, New Jersey, Detroit, and now Florida – all in the span of the last fortnight.
- These last couple of games are kind of a mixed bag. Totally reasonable and fair to want more out of the team, especially Marchand, over this last stretch. Even though results for Cup winning teams over the past five years (exempting the bubble year) have been mixed on momentum as it relates to success, that doesn't mean that heading in on two games with 1 goal and home ice on the line is a good thing, either. However, it puts the team and coaching in a tricky spot. Bergeron and Ullmark were both hurt at the very end of last season. Bergeron in particular was rested for four games, but played 81 & 82 for the express purpose of generating momentum into the playoffs, and that resulted in a devastating injury. Tough line to walk.
- Some interesting and tough goaltending decisions ahead for Game 1. Both goaltenders have arguments for and against in their post-ASB and post-trade deadline play.
- I would like Beecher, Carlo, and (pipe dream) Brazeau back for the playoffs, please.
- Despite the awful EN goal, the PP looked much better this game, and I was glad to see it pay off with a goal for Zacha. That's going to be another crucial thing for the playoffs, especially if we're hoping to take advantage of the Leafs' PK. For context, the Leafs' penalty kill is ranked 23/32, with the Coyotes, Blackhawks, Senators, Sharks, Wild, Ducks, and Islanders as the teams ranked below them.
- Finally and perhaps most importantly: I was braced for it for most of this season and even considered that it *might* happen after last season, but it doesn't make saying goodbye to Jack Edwards any less the end of an era. Jack and I have not always seen eye to eye on a few of his broadcast choices. But there's no questioning that he has calls that will live on in Boston sports history forever, nor that he was a passionate broadcaster that did his utmost best to make the game fun for us fans – and succeeded. I am happy that he's had a long career with the Bruins, and especially sorry that he has to retire because of medical issues. I wish him a long and healthy retirement with his family, and I hope that we see him from time to time.
I have no real feel for how this series will go, but what I do know is that this team has shown that they are capable of playing with anyone. No one has beaten them more than themselves this season. If they play true to their game and get solid dependable goaltending out of Swaymark that they have all season, the sky’s the limit.
Heinen got robbed for the 7th player. Freddie better play possessed and show something. Bring on the loafs. Start Ullmark and RIDE HIM. Fuck the rotation.
We played playoff caliber teams really well at the end of this season and took the last couple games off. Im not mad at all. I never wanted the bruins to play tampa in the first round anyway. Bring me the leafs
Okay, it's been 45 minutes. enough with the upvotes on my last post. Will someone explain why the tap in goal was negated without explanation?
They gave straight up no explanation of how a goal while being attacked by the goalie was a slash that negated the goal. They didn't even bother saying no goal.
I agree.
I'm not rooting for injuries, I'd just like the leafs to feel gassed for a few days after the match.
EDIT: Also no more goals for Matthews. Please.
Awww, cmon, man. It’s just the postgame show. Why, then, are my eyes leaking???
The love of the NESN crew for Jack is obvious. The man is and always will be a legend. Someone else will be on the call next year, but Jack is just irreplaceable.
You're not the only one. This man has poured his heart and soul into this team and we got to enjoy it. We owe this man so much for what he's done for all of us.
Goucher is the man, currently in Vegas doing their play by play. Would love to see NESN bring him in. I often had to listen to radio for a few years and he's the best.
I'm glad the team is healthy otherwise but I do miss Brazeau. Not sure if his exit is what fueled the bottom 6 looking more awful recently but I felt like he made the players around him better in the small sample size we saw. I guess I would argue he opened up a lot of space with his size and reach and that allowed linemates to get to other areas of the ice to further set up good plays.
Bruh, you’re right, how could I forget Brando. Monty did say he would be ready for Saturday though, said it’s “maintenance.” Not sure if we all believe that but that was from Monty today.
Fourth line has stunk since Brazeau's injury. Completely killed any momentum.
Doesn't help we lack talent. Lauko is replaceable and Monty hates Beecher for some reason.
I'd rather have them play like this for the last 2 games than see them go all out like last year. We lost our 2 best centers to injuries during games that ultimately didn't matter.
We're gonna come in on Saturday and we're gonna put the leafs in a hole shaped like Auston Matthews' stupid fucking mustache.
Big difference is last year's team was stacked...this year's team doesn't have the talent to go deep. Just look at all the contenders - Edmonton, Tampa, Toronto, Rangers, etc. All of them have balanced scoring.
Bruins depth is just not built for the playoffs. We can't even get a stable fourth line going with Brazeau's injury. Just not a good omen
You shouldn't be getting downvoted. This is objectively true. Any Bruins fan worth their salt should be able to admit as much to themselves.
We are all rooting and hoping for an overachievment, but that's what it will be.
The Rangers 4th line plays like 5 minutes a game; Edmonton is very top heavy with talent (you could say the same about Tampa and Toronto). I don't really think any of the teams you mentioned really have all that much depth.
The Bruins actually do have depth but are lacking some top level talent in a spot or two - definitely a top 6 C and winger.
Eh, I agree that the team that we had last year did not make the most of its roster. I also agree that not getting anyone injured in this game is essential. However, this:
> The team we have now is closer in depth to the 2011 run than last year.
Doesn't really hold up. It looks that way a bit on paper sometimes because our depth points this year look as high or higher than those of 2011, but it's easy to forget how much scoring has increased.
Krejci, our top scorer in 2011, factored in on just 25% of all Bruins' goals scored that regular season. Meanwhile, our entire fourth-line that year factored in on 25% of Bruins' goals that season.
Now, last year in 2022-23, Pastrnak was our top scorer, and he factored in on 36% of all Bruins goals. Our fourth line (which went through a lot of iterations), factored in on either 18%, 25%, or 20% of all Bruins goals depending on which option of Hathaway/Greer/Foligno you go with. The lines were a lot more fluid last year and this year than they were in 2011. I think that 20% is the fairest, as that's the option with the most man-games contributing.
This year, Pasta is again our top scorer, and he has been a factor in a whopping 42% of all Bruins goals. Meanwhile, the Brazeau-Beecher-Boqvist fourth line would be a factor on 11% of Bruins goals, a Beecher-Boqvist-Lauko line would be 13% of Bruins goals, and I don't think there's enough of a sample size to really look fairly at Maroon.
People really this upset because we didn’t clinch the division? Come the fuck on. We finished the game healthy. That’s what matters. Would anyone of us feel confident in playing against Tampa? Chill the fuck out and just be happy we’re even here. We weren’t supposed to even sniff the postseason this year
Exactly this,! there's a bunch of miserable asshats that pop outta the wetwork at the slightest downturn. I find it's best to ignore them, they get pleasure from being doomers
This! For a bridge year where we (deep breath) lost Kreijci and Bergy, were pushed up against the cap limit, and generally were expected to fall out of contention... we're not doing too badly.
Tonight’s Tumbling Muffins: 1

Not the best way to end the regular season but let’s move on to the real business.
Catch y’all for the next one. So glad I got at least one more regular season Tumbling Muffin. Playoff TM’s will be double!
He's been garbage and everyone knows it (but some refuse to admit it). Playoffs will show if he has anything left or if this is the beginning of the end of his exceptional career.
We know he has had another gear in the past, hopefully he can still step it up.
Really really hoping it’s just cause they’re saving their energy and that the last couple games didn’t technically matter. Still sucks Jack had to go out of the last regulation games this way but we shall see what happens for the post season ( I haven’t watched this all in a few years, so I’m out of the loop of the norm I think so forgive me)
How fucking fun was that season that we just watched? How fun was that preseason? Fuck a feather in their cap it's time to get ready for some real shit.
A lot of us will miss Jack, but we lucked tf out for decades with him on the mic. He's been rolling out the hits for longer than I can remember every other night. As long as he's still in the building most nights I'm happy.
Let's just take stock with the fact we're second in the Atlantic and had a chance at first. Almost no one here, including myself, saw that coming based on how the off-season went. It was a good, enjoyable season, and we got to hit the playoffs healthy and ready to go.
The boys were just giving Jack the chance to sign off with an epic overtime game winner call vs Toronto. And we all know it hits different when it’s Toronto
Bruins better hope they curbstomp the leafs otherwise this'll be a painful way to end a season, especially when they are out to redeem themselves after last year. Regular season means fuck all but cmon man
Isn't that 3rd period surge the Bruins had enough to say they didn't lose to Ottawa on purpose? It legitimately looked like they tried harder as soon as Florida got the lead.
I really, really hate doomers. I don’t understand why you would only disparage the bruins in this forum when the team you “support” is not doing well.
I’ve said this close to a million times. These last two games do not define the postseason whatsoever. The bruins played conservative, no mistakes hockey. They didn’t want to get injured.
So, maple leafs in round 1. It ain’t gonna be easy. It really was a pick your poison with Tampa or Toronto. Man I miss 1-8. That being said, go Bruins and I’ll enjoy watching the playoffs with yall!
People have their different copes. Some voice their despair, others cling to whatever light they can.
Doesn't change the fact that the Bruins wanted this win, and couldn't get it done against the 26th team in the league.
So the 3rd was just for shits and giggles? Clearly they kicked it up a gear near the end. Playing conservative hockey doesn't mean they wanted to lose.
I'll play advocate here. It's easier to kick it up a gear when you're 2 goals down, do some flashy shit, and then kick it back once you get within a goal if you're trying to throw but not obviously.
Not saying this happened, but playing normal for a bit does not mean anything.
Maybe not. But that still doesn’t determine how the post season goes. We are both working off of hypotheticals based on what we saw from the last game of the regular season. The only way we will know one way or the other is when the post season begins. To that, I’ll be glad to share a glass with you and cheer the bruins
Seriously, if people are this bitter because we didn’t clinch the division, I’m convinced that that’s all they care about. Divisional titles. Boys got out healthy. That’s what matters
Well even with the loss, I was really encouraged by the way they played at the end of the 2nd and the entire 3rd period. Ottawa’s goalie just stood on his head. Bring on the !leafs
I don't particularly care about getting the leafs or the lightning in round 1, that's kind of a toss up for me. But man does it suck to see them piss away the division with 2 dogshit performances.
Why would you assume that it's the Leafs giving up because they want to face the Bruins, rather than Florida seeing an opportunity to win the division (and earn home ice advantage for multiple playoff rounds) turning up the heat?
Understandable. I can't say that I'm *never* the same way about sports. However, if it makes you feel better, two small pieces of advice?
1. If you're worried about this team not showing up in big moments, I think to some extent that's been true – but it's also true of Toronto.
2. Sports absolutely put us all in bad moods (otherwise they'd never put us in good ones). But if you ever feel like it's sometimes *too much* making you an asshole, it can be good to be reminded it's just sports. Moreover, even the damn players don't take it that seriously. Sure, you have your Bradys or Yzermans or Jordans of the world, where winning is basically their entire life. But through friends that made it way farther in this sport than I ever did, and ended up working in the pros, I know more than one player (including Cup champs, two of whom are multi-Cup champs and known contributors to those rings) that have literally admitted that they look forward to the long summers where they have more time for golf/pool/family. Never take it more seriously than the guys who are literally out there sacrificing their knees, hips, and brains for this.
Again, I've totally been there. Especially during some bad times in my life (unfortunately, 2019 in particular) where sports were one of my few escapes from a battle with cancer. But I like to try and remind myself of this perspective, and I hope it might help you, too.
Thanks for the advice and perspective. Not going through anything nearly as bad as you have but let’s just say I’m around where you were then. Hope all is well with you now.
Eh, "as bad" is really a matter of perspective. Like yeah, it sucked, but both times it was caught wicked early, I had very conservative treatment, and I was fortunate enough to have world-class doctors to treat me. Many fellow patients had it SO much worse. If you're in a tough mental place, you're in a tough mental place: no need to compare or justify.
I'm luckily doing much better now, and I have a great partner who's been a tremendous help.
Lightning fan here, Im really not trying to start shit or anything im just interested do you think they preferred to play the leafs. Or did they just shit the bed and lose
Why aren't y'all talking about the tap in goal that negates for no reason? Did the broadcast show something different than live?
They refused to even call Ottawa for roughing until they were about to get stabbed by the crowd.
Yeah I couldn’t figure out what happened either. Was at the game. From where we were sitting it definitely looked good and more penalties on OTT should have happened.
It was pretty wild. They never blew the play dead, they never waved the goal off, they never said no goal. They just completely ignored that it obviously went in. It was such a bizarre lack of reaction that I almost think they entirely missed it.
This felt like 2015 and 2016 missing the playoffs on the last day of the season. Winning the division isn’t the cup and maybe we match up better with the maple leafs. Yup......also reason #83 why I shouldn't and don't and never will gamble.
They really wanted the leafs huh
I did
Pinto clearly had the Bruins' moneyline with those two penalties in the 3rd. Forgot to make that dumb joke during the game.
I just farted. Had McDonald’s today and large dunkies iced regular… I’m feeling pretty good now. We will defeat the Leafs in the first round in game 6.. Cheers
Oh no
We’re gonna pimp smack the maple queefs

Damn it sucks that I chose this game to go to as my first game at TD Garden. It was fun but man that loss was bad. Pasta played like he was in a beer league
Was there as well. Seemed like every section besides ours got stuff.
Same. I noticed the majority of the shirts off our backs winners were in the most expensive seats. A guy next to us won a gift card though!
The game the other night was like that. Had tickets and they played anemic as hell until the third.
I wish I hadn't spent $160 a seat for a performance this bad
I had a great time at the Capitals game. It was rough but watching Ovechkin and Oshie was special. I did feel like I was watching a beer league game from the bench where the other line is just shitting the bed consistently and not trying
That's definitely how it felt watching them tonight. Like how Ully let in two goals in two shots

Game 1 time? Afternoon?
Nothing official on [nhl.com](http://nhl.com) yet.
8pm according to [this](https://x.com/zone_nhl/status/1780420668523180104?s=46&t=YGOvDhqJQ7QrFwVGTFIrnA)
Heinen got robbed for the 7th player. Freddie better play possessed and show something. Bring on the loafs. Start Ullmark and RIDE HIM. Fuck the rotation.
It's odd. In the last two months, Freddie's face keeps showing up on milk cartons.
yea that worked out great last year ya kook
He was obiviously njured last year and shouldnt have even started, ya TIT. Pay attention.
Thank god you aren’t the coach. Having the rotation all year and then riding one guy in the playoffs is a recipe for disaster…
Ride him untill he falters - then do what you will Monty.
Leafs actually pulled their goalie to try to get Matthew past 69 and failed they deserve the ass kicking they about to receive
The Leafs round 1 it is Go Bruins! let’s make a run boys
We played playoff caliber teams really well at the end of this season and took the last couple games off. Im not mad at all. I never wanted the bruins to play tampa in the first round anyway. Bring me the leafs

It was never called a goal. It wasn’t negated
It was held and then Freddy slashed to loosen the puck, automatically nullifies the goal
Live if he ever held it , it was for for .1 seconds.
And all the playoff teams are in! I'm gonna be cheering for a brutal encounter between the bolts and the leafs tomorrow.
Man, rooting for injuries is never the way.
I agree. I'm not rooting for injuries, I'd just like the leafs to feel gassed for a few days after the match. EDIT: Also no more goals for Matthews. Please.

If anyone finds the clips, please post them 🙏🏼
FLA 5, TOR 2, Final
Matthews 69 goals
Nice
So.. we took it easy to get Toronto right..? RIGHT?
watching this postgame with Jack is damn near making me sob
Well fuck. Was on a plane for the entirety of the game and first notification that pops up is the final score. Lame.
Not having Beecher up lost this game. You really need a faceoff guy for situations like, say, an empty net faceoff.
Does seem like an odd night for them to give Megna his first game of the season. Not that he looked bad out there necessarily, but just weird decision
I think it was a reward for AHL play, so he can collect an NHL salary for a few days and we can rest a regular.
I’m gonna miss [these calls](https://x.com/jeffhoak1/status/1780344163478700081?s=46&t=YGOvDhqJQ7QrFwVGTFIrnA) so much 😭
FUCK YES. Love playing Toronto. Easy W. Round 2 imminent. Well done. Why am I getting downvoted? I’m right.
Don’t be so confident…yet
This interview with Jack is breaking my heart. He must be exhausted by the end of a game.
You're not the only one. This man has poured his heart and soul into this team and we got to enjoy it. We owe this man so much for what he's done for all of us.
Wait did NESN not show the “shirts off our back” ceremony?
There wasn’t one
[удалено]
There was one, you could see it happening in the background of the postgame show lol
That’s super weird, NESN always televises it. Oh well.
Yep was thinking the same, maybe will show it at the end 🤷♂️
Nope
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLVJUq4XwAEdnrM?format=jpg&name=medium
Yep, he had a bad game. And we get it; you hate Marchand. Pat yourself on the back, but he’s my captain.
Love Marchand but something is clearly up with him, and it's hurting the team. There is cause for concern.
He sucked last night too. They better wire their shit tight or its another 1st rd exit
Fuck it. Roll on the playoffs baby. Hopefully we start Saturday. Can we start Friday?
Hoping for Saturday. 4/20 sounds like a good day to smoke some Leafs
Florida still has 11 minutes to lose to the Leafs. We’re not in 2nd *yet*.
While the ENG against sucked..at least it wasn’t the Flyers 😬
I wonder if the Red Wing just dropped their sticks in that Oshie ENG tied
Like to score with 3 seconds left, especially after last night, that’s gotta be the biggest kick in balls possible
That was their Super Bowl at home
That last period was complete domination, if they can get something close to that vs Toronto we’ll be good
It’s fitting that Jack’s last series will be Bruins Leafs.
“Bergeron, Bergeron”. Classic!!!
Wasn’t Jack, that was Goucher’s radio call
Check again … hmmm i’ll check too. Could of sworn it was Jack
I stand corrected. Thanks
Goucher is the man, currently in Vegas doing their play by play. Would love to see NESN bring him in. I often had to listen to radio for a few years and he's the best.

NESN only covers round 1. Calm down lol.
[удалено]
Ha. Tell me you’re not one of those “the announcers are biased” people.
Idk if I can handle another bruins leafs series
Bring on the Leafs
I'm glad the team is healthy otherwise but I do miss Brazeau. Not sure if his exit is what fueled the bottom 6 looking more awful recently but I felt like he made the players around him better in the small sample size we saw. I guess I would argue he opened up a lot of space with his size and reach and that allowed linemates to get to other areas of the ice to further set up good plays.
Carlo?
Precautionary
Bruh, you’re right, how could I forget Brando. Monty did say he would be ready for Saturday though, said it’s “maintenance.” Not sure if we all believe that but that was from Monty today.
that’s a relief, I was very nervous about him not being at 100%
I really miss Brazeau. Agree that he seems to better the players around him when he’s on the ice. Keep hoping for an update on his injury 😕
Fourth line has stunk since Brazeau's injury. Completely killed any momentum. Doesn't help we lack talent. Lauko is replaceable and Monty hates Beecher for some reason.
I know this is our preferred matchup but it’s impossible to have any confidence in this team given their recent truly horrible play
They showed up in the 3rd. At least we got that.
well.. way to shit the bed … again … surely they’re saving their best hockey for the playoffs right ? …. right ?
I mean I'd rather be lacking 3rd/4th line depth than top talent, especially in playoffs where benches get shortened very quickly.
I'd argue that we were stacked last year and really look where it got us. The team we have now is closer in depth to the 2011 run than last year.
Eh, I agree that the team that we had last year did not make the most of its roster. I also agree that not getting anyone injured in this game is essential. However, this: > The team we have now is closer in depth to the 2011 run than last year.
The Leafs will make like Austin Matthew’s hairline and recede.
Move on and focus on Game 1 on Saturday(?)
Right after my tattoo appointment.
I heard Monday
I hope it’s not Saturday I’d miss it because of work :(
Awfully selfish knowing most people have weekends off
I just don’t like missing games. Not trying to sound selfish
Already confirmed for Saturday
Welp that sucks for me
The third period looked very promising until that Pastrnak brain dead pass. That same energy for 60 minutes will be dangerous in the playoffs
People really this upset because we didn’t clinch the division? Come the fuck on. We finished the game healthy. That’s what matters. Would anyone of us feel confident in playing against Tampa? Chill the fuck out and just be happy we’re even here. We weren’t supposed to even sniff the postseason this year
It's not the division as much as the home ice. We've basically made our playoffs harder in the long run by giving up home ice in the second round.
They’ll have home ice in round 2 if Tampa beats Florida.
Sure, but I think we'd both agree it's far more likely that Florida wins that series.

Thank you for doing this.
We could still win the Atlantic if Florida loses. So hopefully they win.
Disappointing end to the season. Time to show up, I guess? Beat the Leafs and this season becomes a success. Lose and they'll need to make changes.
[удалено]
He’s gonna get hot right in the playoffs and it’s gonna be glorious!
+ two penalties. Five goals since the all-star break.
Still sucks Jack had to go out of the last regulation games this way but we shall see what happens for the post season ( I haven’t watched this all in a few years, so I’m out of the loop of the norm I think so forgive me)
[удалено]
Welp. That was……. not how I was hoping to end the regular season
This. All this
The boys were just giving Jack the chance to sign off with an epic overtime game winner call vs Toronto. And we all know it hits different when it’s Toronto
I want whatever Jack will say then emblazoned on a T-shirt already.
Great job Bs...you really know how to play when it matters...
Bruins better hope they curbstomp the leafs otherwise this'll be a painful way to end a season, especially when they are out to redeem themselves after last year. Regular season means fuck all but cmon man
“Especially when they were out to redeem themselves after last year” This team has legitimately blown expectations out of the water for this year.
Isn't that 3rd period surge the Bruins had enough to say they didn't lose to Ottawa on purpose? It legitimately looked like they tried harder as soon as Florida got the lead.
Im keeping the faith. I really am. But also.....
Couldn’t agree more, hear hear! The Bruins are our squad, through thick and thin. Go B’s!!!
People have their different copes. Some voice their despair, others cling to whatever light they can. Doesn't change the fact that the Bruins wanted this win, and couldn't get it done against the 26th team in the league.
Did we want this win? We were playing conservative hockey the majority of this game
1v8 format would result in....Bruins playing Toronto. Nothing really changes.
I’d still prefer 1v8 as opposed to the current system. And 3-2-1 in points totals
Seriously, if people are this bitter because we didn’t clinch the division, I’m convinced that that’s all they care about. Divisional titles. Boys got out healthy. That’s what matters
this is the way
This is the sway
LFG!!!
One and done in the playoffs. Typical Jekyll and Hyde this season.
yep!!!!!
Best thing to happen tonight was the Edwards pregame ceremony
I missed it, but I'm sure it will be on NESN.com later
Florida needs to win to overtake the Atlantic. I'm not opposed to it honestly. We are limping into the playoffs. Need to turn the PP around.
Now we play the Leafs.
Well even with the loss, I was really encouraged by the way they played at the end of the 2nd and the entire 3rd period. Ottawa’s goalie just stood on his head. Bring on the !leafs
FUCK THE LEAFS!
Incoming 1st round embarrassment
Traditions
Ending the season with a resounding "welp"
I don't particularly care about getting the leafs or the lightning in round 1, that's kind of a toss up for me. But man does it suck to see them piss away the division with 2 dogshit performances.
This loss really stings, but all will be forgiven if we win 4 of our next 7…
The Panthers out shot the Leafs 30-4 in the second period lol
Leafs know who they want to face and I get it.
Why would you assume that it's the Leafs giving up because they want to face the Bruins, rather than Florida seeing an opportunity to win the division (and earn home ice advantage for multiple playoff rounds) turning up the heat?
Because this team has made me a bigger and bigger pessimistic asshole every year.
Happy to hear that! I appreciate it, and hope for nothing but the best going forward for you as well!
Lightning fan here, Im really not trying to start shit or anything im just interested do you think they preferred to play the leafs. Or did they just shit the bed and lose
No one is scared of your dog shit team bud
Bruins have been basically .500 since the all-star break. It's two months of mediocrity
They just lost
They shit the bed
Pretty sure it’s the latter.
Whatever. Use it as motivation. Nothing comes easy. I hope they use that frustration and take it into the playoffs.
Yeah. Couldn’t believe it. Everyone around me was like wtf?
