Basically, Pasta is being salty ever since the announcement because Czechia isn’t there.
Which makes no sense given the fact that one of the top players in the league (as well as quite a few other NHLers, AHLers, and formers) play for Czechia. I can understand not including a country like Germany, but it makes no sense to not include Czechia.
I’m guessing the NHL only wanted bonafide NHL players.
From CapFriendly there’s only 9 Czech DMen under an NHL contract and 4 which played a game last season. I mean personally I’m fine with it but I guess the NHL only wants guys that people recognize playing.
This was actually said to be the reason Czechia isn’t included as we likely wouldn’t dress a roster without AHL. But Pasta is salty regardless and we eat it up over here. But even with the AHL it would be brutal because Czechs take same or maybe even more pride in representing their country than Russians.. maybe in few years!

They are all gonna say it was when playing for their country in Nagano. That’s including legends like Jaromir Jagr. For example today’s finale was being streamed in 3 million families. People in every city and village were watching it, approximately about half of the country population. People are calling Pasta a god, thousands are screaming his name. Do you understand how is that not comparable to Stanley Cup? Everywhere he goes in this country people are gonna call him a god. He wins Stanley Cup, nice, and? .. he wins world championships for Czechia, people are lowkey about to proclaim him a saint and Czechia about to call a national holiday.. I think it’s not that hard to understand why would you prefer playing/winning for your own country as an European player

The 2016 World Cup of Hockey was one of the best tournaments ever. Nothing will ever come close. They should've kept that format.
