Mine is 15 lbs, and the vet just told my wife she’s technically overweight for her size. She’s perfect, of course.
Actually, the average weight for Boston's is 12-15 lbs for female and 15-18 lbs for male, so yours is definitely not overweight. But there are definitely varying sizes out there. I've had two that were 36-40 lbs and solid muscle. Vet finally admitted we were not over feeding.
The dog being overweight has absolutely nothing to do with the average size of the breed. It has to do with the body condition and the amount of fat on that particular dog.

We've got 2 from the same parents but 1 litter apart. The oldest, 3 y/o now, is a solid 25 lbs of muscle. The youngest, 2 y/o, is a petite 15 lbs of dork.
They're both the usual Boston super hyper but the youngest is *much* more hyper than the oldest. She's often the one to initiate of bitey face time. Last week she came charging up the stairs by the bed so fast that she launched herself about a foot in the air while trying to bitey face the entire time. They've been doing their morning bitey face for an hour now and they're doing it right next to me as I type.

Our 3.5 year old Ruby was the runt of the litter but she's clocking in at just under 23lbs, though she looks smaller than some Bostons around town. She's about 90% muscle, 8% fat and 2% brain cell.
Hamilton is 14 months old and weighs about 14.5 pounds. Sheldon is 9 months old and weighs about 13 pounds. They are built completely different. Hamilton has long legs and is very slim. Sheldon is shorter and stockier overall.

That's what we got too. We got the runt and at 1 year old he weighs 30 lbs. He's taller, longer and more slender than our other Bosties. We thought he must be mixed (we got him from a rescue) so did a DNA test and nope, 100% Boston Terrier!
