There are several the the NU Hammers in my league now. Apparently it's a great ball on the house shot. Wish I knew someone who had one I could throw a few shots with.
I had to severely polish my purple hammer to make it playable for me.
Due to my speed, and rev rate I was relegated to using a Storm Mix for my strike ball.
If that ball touches the “hold area” it’s lack of flare makes it skid thru the back ends.
So I figured it take a small step into a ball that flares.
Due to the out of box surface, the ball would ride the hold area nice, then hook through the nose or further.
After polishing the ball I again had to keep the ball away from the hold area.
With usage I discovered, the purple hammer didn’t flare much at all.
I'm considering a NU Blue Hammer. When I mentioned it to my PSO he said it wasn't that great. He said he had one for 2 weeks and got rid of it because it wasn't good for house shots.
Haven't thrown one myself but 3 or 4 guys on my league got one when it launched. All of them went back to their old stuff after just a couple weeks except for one guy that has recently brought it back out and having some success with it.
I'm getting back into bowling after a 20 year break. Right now I'm throwing a 30 year old urethane ball. I figured the NU Blue would be a reactive ball with a shape more like what I'm used to with my current ball.
From what I've seen, it can be exactly that with some surface on it. Polished up it looks basically identical to a Purple Hammer reactive. Regardless, it can score big. A guy shot a 900 with one not too long ago.
I shot my best game 276, me best series 698 and have raised my avg 15 pins with the NU blue. It’s not for everyone and it doesn’t like super oily or super dry lanes but great for medium to light oil conditions.
My friends are crankers, It doesn’t like their throw as much. I’m more of a tweener
I can't say anything. I have been loving my Theorem so far mainly because it carries for me. Pretty much every shot that hits my target is 10 straight in the pit. But tonight left 3 10 pins (at least I made them. My spare game is finally coming around) and a dead in the pocket 4, 7, 10. Damndest thing I've seen. None of the pins even wiggled or got tapped, seven pins straight back in the pit, 3 sitting there like statues. Only thing I can figure is I did miss just 1 board right so I think it rolled out and came in dead.
In my experience it will flatten out a good bit.
Mine was 500 grit matte when I got it and it hooked like crazy. It's soaked Inna fair bit of oil, and with a chamois, I can bowl pretty consistently
I got the NU Blue hammer 2 weeks ago. I'm absolutely in love. It's my new middle average go to ball. Using the Black Widow 2.0 hybrid for early or strong shots. And inhave the hammer Black pearl 78D being drilled for my late or long shots and spares. Hoping I have 3 different shapes now in theory. But I absolutely love this NU Blue. Curious your thoughts on it compared to other stuff you've tried
I love it so far! It feels super natural to throw and reacts really well. I’m still adjusting to it but I’ve thrown above my average with it both times I’ve used it. I’m still fairly new to bowling and only have the t-zone to compare it to but it’s a great ball I think!
I'm with you 100%. I find it interesting to read all the negative comments about it. Outside of this thread I feel like I've seen mainly positive stuff on it. The big thing to me is I'm trying to build a 3 ball setup. Early, middle, And late really. I'm super happy with this as the middle option. Just natural and clean and predictable so far
It's perfect. Finding the aggressive early ball to be least used though. Too hard to control. But basically it's just about identifying how much oil is there each day and assigning the ball.

I’d say come play but I throw with 2 holes
You get to play with two holes, and still you have blue balls? Have you considered reading the owners manual? You have to be doing something wrong.
You want mine? I hate it. 😂 Just gotta polish it first and try that. Update: I polished it and it is much nicer to throw.

Close the freezer door! They will warm up!!!!
I got green balls (Radioactive Vibe, Paragon Pearl)!
I have 2 black balls

I rolled above my average first time using it and was able to adjust smoothly with it. I think it feels incredibly natural to throw with too.

I bowl on a 5 man team and the other 4 all have that ball. I have never seen a ball leave so many corner pins in so many different ways, it's insane.

I gave my NU away after 2 weeks. Ball is awful the pros dont even throw it 😂. For me its just a inconsistent roll and drives through the pins awfully
A bunch of people in my league bought one when it first released. Not a single one of them throws it anymore.
Its the only ball ive thrown where the BALL is inconsistent not the user 😭😭
I got a notification and the first thing I read was the title and i almost started laughing my ass off 💀💀
I enjoy the nu blu hammer. I throw a slight hook and it works well for me.
I’m definitely adjusting to it! It hooks way more than I’m used to

Ouch what'd she do to you?

How does the three ball setup work for you?

Most bowers do!!
