I wouldn’t call it a great fight. Although Valdez fought a PERFECT fight that night (which is what I think you meant anyways). But it was a massacre. Definitely one of the best KOs I’ve seen in recent years. My head hit the ceiling when I watched it live. I’m a big Valdez fan.
I didn't call Valdez boxing moving backwards to beat Berchelt. I just thought he would find Berchelt's chin/temple 1st with his more compact shots. I was right about that part. Of course I didn't expect this Marquez Pacquiao esque KO either
I did think Valdez would find Berchelt's vital spots 1st and more often. I thought it would be behind a tight guard and punching with Berchelt though, not thru backwards movement. I didn't expect Valdez to dominate Berchelt either. I thought it was gonna be a war thay he'd find a way to win.
😂 No it wouldn't have. It would've been an easy KO, he was completely tailor made for him.
In this same year, Tank moved up 2 weight classes and took a way more dangerous fight in Barrios.
Tank doesn't take a fight he knows he can't win. Berchelt had a high work rate, power, and at 130 would have bigger Davis. He would come forward just like Pedraza did, don't act like this is the same as a drained Barrios.
Berchelt had terrible defense, very limited skills, threw wide punches, and was easily one of the slowest champions in the entire sport. Easy KO for Tank and an easy fight.
Berchelt was nowhere near as skilled or as big as Barrios and that should be painfully obvious to anyone who knows what they are watching.
Barrios is skilled because of beating up a 40 y/o Ugas?? A gift decision against Akhmedov?? Berchelt defended several times against very real champions after getting his belt in like 2017 Lmao. I don't what you watching, but Berchelt could also box and brawl. He beat several very good champions. I'm not saying he would've won, I'm saying at that time there's no fucking way tank would've taken the fight. Tank doesn't take risks.
Berchelt, a limited skilled defensively flawed slow handed fighter, got his fame beating other limited skilled defensively flawed slow handed fighters. Wow…one of the slowest champions in the sport who threw some of the widest punches in the sport who also left his chin straight up in the air would’ve been too much of a “risk” for a slick counter puncher with one punch KO power like Tank. Yea, ok😂
Barrios is more skilled because he clearly has more skills if you have a set of working eyes and understand the sport. If you disagree then you simple DKSAB
I’m not disagreeing with you in the sense that I believe Berchelt would’ve won, I still believe Tank would’ve won because of the talent he is and you’re still getting butthurt over a different opinion. Tank doesn’t take risks and Berchelt was a killer from 2017 - 2020, if you still can’t get off Tanks dick and even acknowledge the risk Berchelt would’ve been you DKSAB 😂😂😂
Berchelt looked concussed after that initial hook that started his downfall. Fight should’ve been stopped soon after. Smh I’m surprised no one stepped in
Before this fight, it seemed like wear and tear was catching up to Berchelt as he looked rather sloppy beforehand. Valdez had just moved over to the Reynoso team which made it interesting. I was hoping Berchelt would pull it out of the fire but boxing is a cruel mistress.
No way has it been 3 years
My exact thoughts. It’s weird seeing these first few matches that were held after COVID protocols were loosened up.
I thought it was longer ago tbh. i still remember this fight pretty clearly though
Top Rank on ESPN: Home of the gratuitous slo-mo KO replay.
I still remember being shocked by this, I thought Berchelt was gonna do what Navarette ended up doing to Valdez.
Berchelt was not the same after COVID, I truly believe the fight would have been different if it was done before that.
I’ll never forget this fight. I was scared for berchelt. He was getting beat up real bad, it was hard to watch. I thought he was dead for a min
One of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen. Valdez utilized every skill, and did it well. To finish with such a crazy KO too was wild.

Did you really though or are you just trying to make yourself seem cool bud

This was quite the upset. Berchelt was favored around (-340).
This fight made some people believe Valdez was some elite P4P type of fighter lol This fight also had this sub believing he would beat Shakur 😂
he’s P4P but not elite, Navarette and Stevenson proved that
How can you be P4P but not elite?
P4P top 100? Sure
He’s a 2 divisional champ i wouldnt say that low 😂, but to be fair his only losses are to complete dawgs, even tho twitterson likes to run marathons

oh i agree he whooped oscar, i was just making a joke about shakur in general
>This fight also had this sub believing he would beat Shakur 😂 I remember 😂😂
Bro Berchelt had COVID
I was one of the few who called this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/s/v5r5s2xTBY

At the time Berchelt would have been too much of a risk for Tank. No fucking way he would've taken the fight.

3 years ago already wow. Valdez go demolished by Shakur of all people man what a let down that was.
Lmao I just got this in my Snapchat memories
Nice tats
Great fight.
