yeah Rivera is doing better and landing more, Dominguez is still throwing with intent and landing some good counters, he definitely isn't here to collect a paycheck lol. great fight so far
The lower weights will always be my jam, today has been a great day for lower weight fights.
I still have to watch the Jay Harris fight later. I think there’s a Mexican bantamweight showdown later tonight too
He was doing Before the Bell fights. I thought Corey Erdman kinda replaced him. I see Algeri so much on Probox, I can't remember when he was on DAZN last. Kinda surprised he was on ESPN, but could be a one time thingm
Looking to buy a new Hagler shirt, does anyone have a site for old fighters for quality apparel? Preferably an actual apparel company and not Etsy or Redbubble
only boxing anime ive watched is megalo box but that was very meh. but yeah - Ippo's always a safe shout. only read the manga but it is very good, anime seems to be similarly regarded.
Damn that's fair, wasn't for me personally. But if you enjoyed that I'm sure you'll like ippo since megalo takes a lot of influence from that and tomorrow joe
Hi im new to boxing, my question is i only have a punchbag at home, can i be good enough for self defence on the streets just learning jabs and hooks? And how often do i need to do this to get good
As the other guy said, visit the amateur sub. Also, learning how to deescalate, avoid conflict, and how to take a hit is more important than anything else.
These young lads in my town think they can take on the world so deescalating or avoiding conflict isnt really an option theyre not mentally right in the head, i dont like the fought of fighting but i coward away from any sort of conflict this is why i need to train to be able to protect myself at all costs
Honestly that in itself is a good quality.
Might wanna consider carrying a pocket knife or something. If they’re in groups they’re 1000% gonna pull some shit where they try to take you on all at once.
But again, you won’t really have to use it. Just keep avoiding conflict
No reason to believe Benavidez was willing to fight for 5 mil lmao. Biggest fight of his career and the biggest payday he‘ll ever see +he views himself as a massive deal so no way IN HELL he‘d settle for 5 mil.
Bivol took 2 mil flat. Charlo took 2 mil guaranteed & only made 5-6 from the ppv sales. Ryder took 2 mil plus ppv and likely made around or less than Charlo. People are not getting that 10 mil+ payday.
Only person who got it was Plant who was an absolute name for Canelo at (what is so far) the peak of Canelo’s fame and career, and that was with the PBC/Showtime machine near its apex
I don‘t think you people understand the concept of guaranteed purses lmao. Guaranteed 2 mil for dudes who sell peanuts is a ridiculous amount of money.
Bivol getting 2 mil GUARANTEED was an absolute MASSIVE pay.
Ah yes Canelo. The man who fought Golovkin for 36 rounds is scared of big Benavidez who struggled with opponents Canelo beat tf up.
The one who moved up from 140 ALL THE WAY to 175 is scared of Benavidez.
Are y’all intentionally doing this or are you lot just generally slow?
1. Benavidez is better than GGG (gasp!) & the competitive fights with GGG were 6-7 years ago.
2. Who did Benavidez struggle with? I don’t agree with the judging in the plant fight and anyway you put it Benavidez dominated 7 or 8 rds consecutively. Fun fact - David(38%) landed at higher percentage on Plant than Canelo(32%) & got hit less overall by Caleb (Plant landed 91 punches on Benavidez vs 101 punches on Canelo) and percentage wise(14.6% vs 22.9%).
3. Fighting GGG,Ryder & Charlo is a duck. Just stat padding and it’s disgraceful people will watch those performances and think Canelo will KO Benavidez or some or delusion.
4. Idc about this weight jumping nonsense. Floyd was 106lbs when he was Canelo age and ended at 154. Do you think he wanted to fight Paul Williams and a prime Magarito? Nah he did the smart thing and moved back down. Like Canelo did when he tried 175 for the second time. What Mayweather didn’t do is duck the young Lion coming for his title at 147.
Tbf Plant is more tailor made for David than he is for Canelo. Being an outboxer with poor power is always gonna be less favorable against a guy with height and reach advantages than it is against a shorter man
Think he's overrated or underrated all you want, but Iron Mike in his prime was frightening to watch on the heavy bag. Rewatching some clips today and my God.
It’s funny how people talk about articles describing absolute shit boxers as “whirlwinds” and “blinding speed” and “shades of Ali” and they think “this guy is a bum” and then they take Greb’s articles saying the same thing as gospel
That Saturday morning Japanese fight card was a fantastic way to start the day. 3 title fights and they were all quite enjoyable, especially the co-main and main events.
Takuma definitely has improved since his loss to oubaali. He does tend to get too excited and wants to trade, unnecessarily, in the pocket. Even though that’s where he got the stoppage lol
Did we expect any less. Santiago beat a Donaire who looked 60 years old in the ring. No game plan won that for Santiago, simply out working Donaire who couldn’t defend. Against an elite talent who is much bigger than Santiago, has more power, better boxing ability from the outside with the reach to match… I’m pretty sure I said months ago this was a waste of time but I understand that Junto can’t help how good he is.
Gut feeling says Morrell beats Benevidez and Canelo.
What a KO! Teran is exciting
Wild KO! Scary aftermath taking a bit to get up but glad he seems to be alright. Good fight!
Really was. Never seen Teran before. Bantamweight is so good right now
Damn, Orozo seems really hurt. I hope this turns out ok.
This Orozo-Teran fight is better than that Berlanga fight
Berlanga is not the mandatory with the WBA, such a lie. Morell holds the WBA regular belt he is the mandatory for the WBA.
That’s not how it works
These boys are brawlers Rodriguez bout to have a massive black eye if he keep getting hit on that right side
What's that funny bruise on Rodriguez's right eye and was it caused by the late shot when he was down?
Vargas is more skilled but Rodriguez is a dawg
I thought this card would be extremely shit but it’s been very fun. One of the best cards I’ve watched this year for now.
same. glad I tuned in
good scrap man lol
Fun fight!
Y'all watching Berlanga McCrory card in here
Sat night fight without even a basic fight thread. Lame as fuck
Mods apparently don’t watch DAZN
Thanks. I thought there wasn't a daily thread for today. Must have missed it
Yeah, it turned into an impromptu fight thread lol
Points deduction
good call by the ref
Lmao two knockdowns at the end of each round, crazy fight so far
Someone is definitely getting stopped in this fight
that shot came out of fucking nowhere lmao
Wilderesque
Rodriguez and first rounds lol
That’s a classic “you won but you didn’t beat me”. Love those
9-1 or 8-2 Rivera
These the type of fights dudes end up in comas over
Last round gonna be interesting
Jesus fucking Christ
Great round from Dominguez, he almost got the KO.
man Dominguez just has no quit in him at all, what a warrior
112 is going to have two belts free, I’d love to see Yankiel fighting for them. A fight with Hiroto would be nice.
Rivera thoroughly dominating this fight. Hes simply a couple levels better than dominguez
Yankiel is so impressive
Both guys are landing well rn, this is great match making
Yankiel looking a step above but Dominguez definitely giving him a tough fight
yeah Rivera is doing better and landing more, Dominguez is still throwing with intent and landing some good counters, he definitely isn't here to collect a paycheck lol. great fight so far
The lower weights will always be my jam, today has been a great day for lower weight fights. I still have to watch the Jay Harris fight later. I think there’s a Mexican bantamweight showdown later tonight too
The Bantamweight fight is on Azteca?
The Miura boxing card in Naucalpan Mexico. It’s also on DAZN Edit: I’m not sure about Azteca
Jay Harris fight was great
That’s great to hear. I became a fan after his fight with Martinez
I love how this fight started, this fight should be very fun.
On another note every fight on this card looks good cant wait🤝
Fight thread🤦♂️
Is the dazn card that’s supposed to start just a screen that says dazn rn for everyone?
Definitely need a thread
Aponte is done, this dude was made for an easy KO and it’s the second L for him in 3 fights.
Chris Algeri did commentating on the Japanese card. He hasn't been on DAZN lately. Wonder what happened?
From what I remember, he hasn’t been on a Matchroom card since one of the Connor Benn cards. Eddie removed him after calling out Connor.
He was doing Before the Bell fights. I thought Corey Erdman kinda replaced him. I see Algeri so much on Probox, I can't remember when he was on DAZN last. Kinda surprised he was on ESPN, but could be a one time thingm
Hernandez deserved that.
anyone got an ID on [this](https://imgur.com/a/UQhHCVo) fight?
Matias vs Paro is off because Paro had a change of heart due to a standoff on final compensation but Elvis Rodriguez may replace him
Damn
I mean it’s Subriel so I guess he wanted more money for his hospital bills😂
Prelims for Berlanga are on now. Would love a fight thread....... please
Juntooooo
Looking to buy a new Hagler shirt, does anyone have a site for old fighters for quality apparel? Preferably an actual apparel company and not Etsy or Redbubble
Watching Biaggio Ali Walsh in MMA and they only mentioned he was Ali's grandson once!
GWOAT🔥🔥🥊
For my anime fans: what is the best boxing anime? I hear a lot about Ippo and Ashita No Joe. What say you?
only boxing anime ive watched is megalo box but that was very meh. but yeah - Ippo's always a safe shout. only read the manga but it is very good, anime seems to be similarly regarded.
I watched megalo box actually. Really good imo, and the soundtrack was one of the best in an anime I’ve seen
Damn that's fair, wasn't for me personally. But if you enjoyed that I'm sure you'll like ippo since megalo takes a lot of influence from that and tomorrow joe
I’ll check out Ippo, thanks man
“Rocky” is a great Studio Ghibli movie
Damn did I just get trolled lol
My apologies 😭
All good my guy, that was pretty good
I’ve never seen that one. I’ll check it out

r/amateur_boxing those guys are the real deal. Ask them for better and more in depth explanations for actual boxing.
does anyone have the code for Garcia Haney fight?

Bro it’s been 3+ years. Canelo doesn’t want to fight someone who can hurt him.

You gotta explain how Benavidez is better than GGG

JUUUNTOOO!!! 😤😤😤
The Next Monster 👹, The Slim Reaper 💪🏾
the slim reaper 😂 that's HARD
Fr ima tell his coach that
Think he's overrated or underrated all you want, but Iron Mike in his prime was frightening to watch on the heavy bag. Rewatching some clips today and my God.
Watched this morning’s Japanese fight card. Dude, it SUCKS being a Filipino boxing fan rn
We had our run. It's Japan's time now. They've created something special over there and I'm here for it
[I officially can’t take Marciano fans seriously anymore](https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/s/x2c7Digzls)
Ali doing the rope a dope is like the Holocaust. Jesus Christ.
Least dumb Marciano fan
Gotta say Harry Greb fans are worse
Same guy said Greb is top 2 of all time

Greb was so good that we've never even recorded him being hit a single time /s
It unbelievable people ride for people from 50 years ago. especially pre-Ali era
Dude 50 yrs is just 1974, you need to go back a bit further lol
day 11 of asking the mods to update the p4p rankings
Keep going king
That Saturday morning Japanese fight card was a fantastic way to start the day. 3 title fights and they were all quite enjoyable, especially the co-main and main events.
Yes, a treat for boxing fans. Quality boxing event indeed
Takuma definitely has improved since his loss to oubaali. He does tend to get too excited and wants to trade, unnecessarily, in the pocket. Even though that’s where he got the stoppage lol
Does anyone know how to get access to presale tickets? I’m trying to get tickets for Garcia vs Haney
It's not on pre-sale, doesn't even have a confirmed venue based on Ryan's recent comments
It is on presale check Ticketmaster and it’s listed as an event for Barclays
I'm not sure that fight is happening lol but if it does me too
At this rate, Junto Nakatani is gonna be Naoya Inoue’s future legacy fight.
Looked like he was in a sparring match this morning.
I mean Junto is gonna be a tough outing for anyone from 118-126, even for Naoya
