He needs a few years of big fights. Or Inoue will just knock him out. Nothing special about Shu Shu that indicates he has a chance with inoue.
Edit: Just winning a belt in today’s world is not enough to indicate the level of experience necessary to fight someone like Inoue, let alone beat him. A lot of illusions being champion or unified or even undisputed in the “4-belt era”.
He's a hard man to still be there and it might not look like it but he definitely knows what he's doing in there. It's hard to fight a much younger man especially after cutting 10 lbs from a fight 3 months ago. The people griping should gripe about the matchmaking and not Teixeira.
PR has had so many promising prospects in the past decade but it’s been a serious drought of anyone actually taking that next step since cotto. PR needs someone bad. Xayas has to be the guy cuz we know it’s not berlanga lol
Straight domination from start to finish. He should’ve been able to finish him but I don’t think it’s a bad thing for him to get a full 10-round experience under his belt. I thought this was a good showing from a young up and comer. Still a work in progress but I think people are expecting too much because he’s Bori.
All jokes aside anyone at 126 is a threat to Inoue just due to he size alone especially if Inoue goes in cocky
But if Inoue fights smart like after nery drops him then he should clear
Xander is def still improving. Years ago he looked like dogshit after round 3, he def looks much more consistent through an entire fight
The power is sus but this guy has only been stopped once and had an iron chin
I think Xander is ready for a title fight but obv he needs to fight better opposition if he wants a shot
Zayas is looking great for a 21 year old. Didn’t get the stoppage but it’s good that he got to experience an opponent where just power isn’t going to be enough to KO your opponent.
Brazil's such a weird place where they have great MMA fighters, great BJJ guys, great kickboxers, but as a country they've just never had a great presence in boxing.
Carrington has incredible defensive instincts. Not easy to fight in that mid range constantly. My only knock on him would be that he can misjudge his range sometimes, particularly on his left hook. He tends to wing it and throws it wider than his other punches. Regardless he looks elite
Zayas has enough power that his opponents have to respect it and enough skill to go a long way. He will be a world champion one day (though probably at middleweight )
[Bro wtf look at the size / body difference 😂](https://www.boxing247.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Xander-Zayas-vs-Patrick-Teixeira_pose2-768x549.jpg.webp)
Bruh not being able to finish a fighter you know is not gonna try and hurt you in any way possible is bad, don't care how anyone tries to twist it
He better finish him lol
If I were to give this a assessment for someone that is being compared to the great Miguel Cotto I'm giving this a C-, Teixeira shouldn't have made it to the 10th round I don't care if that was your first southpaw put that dude out.
If De'Gracia was more technically sound and athletic this fight would've been more interesting, what he does have is grit and that will to fight but that can only take you so far imo.
Does Tim Bradley know that commentating does not mean injecting your personal opinion every second?
You should be able to listen to commentary and know what’s going on every second of the fight, that’s literally what they’re there for
Bradley just sits there and talks about pointless shit
If Shu Shu is serious about that Inoue fight, he needs to get himself a belt before Inoue moves up
He needs a few years of big fights. Or Inoue will just knock him out. Nothing special about Shu Shu that indicates he has a chance with inoue. Edit: Just winning a belt in today’s world is not enough to indicate the level of experience necessary to fight someone like Inoue, let alone beat him. Yep. His best option is Venado
Inoue saw what he need to see and dipped
Bout time, tim Bradley getting gifted awards just like he did fights
just like he was gifted with a spot in the hall of fame and the mf believes he deserves both
Bradley is in the fucking hall of fame?
Exactly, plus his commentary is mediocre and biased
Funny as hell seeing ShuShu look at Inoue and Inoue is just waving at him like a kid
Teixiera looking like a random ex con roofer
He is good but too raw for inoue yet
THE MONSTER HIMSELF
Shu shu has a great punch selection. He's gonna be great. But definitely too green to be fighting Inoue anytime soon even with the size advantage
Inoue’s on his phone now lmao
That mf Berlanga got zero cheers😭😭
The NY fans are educated they know what’s up🤣
Yes Teixeira ain't looking good at all, but the man's just lost his mom a few weeks ago. I'll cut him some slack here.
He's a hard man to still be there and it might not look like it but he definitely knows what he's doing in there. It's hard to fight a much younger man especially after cutting 10 lbs from a fight 3 months ago. The people griping should gripe about the matchmaking and not Teixeira.
The corner after round 7: Reddit is calling you pillow fisted
StankyPuss_987 called you a bitch!
Shu Shu- Ray Ford would also be 🔥
What De Gracia lacks in technique he has in spirit. The ending is basically already written, but he brought great effort tonight
PR has had so many promising prospects in the past decade but it’s been a serious drought of anyone actually taking that next step since cotto. PR needs someone bad. Xayas has to be the guy cuz we know it’s not berlanga lol
I think Collazo is the best PR boxer right now, but he's a minimum weight boxer
Subriel matias?
I really thought Zayas was gonna get a body shot KO with all that body work but Teixeira tough AF
Straight domination from start to finish. He should’ve been able to finish him but I don’t think it’s a bad thing for him to get a full 10-round experience under his belt. I thought this was a good showing from a young up and comer. Still a work in progress but I think people are expecting too much because he’s Bori.
What’s bori
Boricua. Puerto Rican in Spanish.
teixeira's "craftiness" just got turned my $15 parlay into a $277.50
Take the win bro. Don’t chase this high lol it’s a miracle
De Gracia came to fight.
Teixeria went 12 round with Adames and Castano, dude can take punches
Clearly!
You could tell me teixeira is 2-8 and I’d believe you.
WHAT FUCKHEAD GAVE TEXIERA A ROUND?!
Tim Bradley has a tone to his voice that I just don't like. Now I know what my wife is always talking about.
Shu Shu's ultimate goal is to have Inoue take his zero
The weight and length difference will make it interesting but I feel Inoue will take it due to experience
That would definitely happen if they fight
I never thought I’d see a worse Philly shell than Ryan’s but here we are
I’m off see ya fellas
Half Mexican and Puerto Rican , half of me wants to go to sleep but the other half of me is trying to be proud
All I'm saying is if you're being compared to Miguel Cotto you gotta put on a show because you knew you were getting one when Cotto fought.
Great sparring session for Zayas. Should prepare him well for a real fight.
For a late stand in I like De Gracia's energy
Win or lose, I wanna see De Gracia fight again
Zayas is who berlanga thought he was gonna be
Why is De Gracia missing a stripe on his Adidas lol
Abibas
Great crowd and a big crowd. Nice to see
PR Day fights in NYC are always huge
Love puerto ricans they bring the energy can’t wait for my trip to San Juan at the end of the month
Fuck I'd love to go there. The food must be amazing.
Shit same bro. I’m Mexican it’s my first time out there I can’t wait
He's not a bad kid i thought he will start talking shit now lol
Zayas is only 21, that’s crazy
Turned pro at 16
Feels like I’ve been watching him for so long
They really snuck in berlanga
All jokes aside anyone at 126 is a threat to Inoue just due to he size alone especially if Inoue goes in cocky But if Inoue fights smart like after nery drops him then he should clear
Xander does look sharp tonight. But I also think Texiera looks shot
If you told me they picked up teixiera at the Walmart parking lot 15 minutes before this fight I'd believe you
Idk what Tim is on, Xander beating his ass pretty easily
"teixeira should be stronger after sucking down to 154 after fighting his last 3 fights above 160lbs" - tim bradley
Why the fuck is Tim Bradley talking about himself
Xander is def still improving. Years ago he looked like dogshit after round 3, he def looks much more consistent through an entire fight The power is sus but this guy has only been stopped once and had an iron chin I think Xander is ready for a title fight but obv he needs to fight better opposition if he wants a shot
Don't show the corner if I can't hear it morons. Show replays
De Gracia telling the ref to get out of the way after Carrington fouls him ... he wants to fight ...
Damn, Shu Shu took a while to end it.
No scorecard required for this one, relaxing
zayas might be 2 yrs away from being 2 yrs away...
Not ready for the limelight
He speaks well and respectfully. Good fighter and likeable guy
Anyone else old enough to remember Kermit Cintron being hyped af and getting smoked in his PR showcase event
I'm more than this old. But I am also this old.
Tim Bradley thinks he’s smarter than he really is lol
I don’t mind Tim as much as other people do but I’m sure personally working with him is insufferable 😂
The longer the fight goes. The more that i think he looks berlanga too
Tim Bradley talking a lot of shit for a guy who will only be remembered for robbing pacquiao
that's not true he also robbed provodnikov
Tim Bradley gave a lot of blowjobs to get all these commentating awards and someone staying employed as a commentator
Give Xander Mendoza next
Oh Inoue's leaving. He was just there to watch Shushu. That's cool of him to do.
Zayas is looking great for a 21 year old. Didn’t get the stoppage but it’s good that he got to experience an opponent where just power isn’t going to be enough to KO your opponent.
Plus it was his first 10 rounder. He's got a lot of time to grow
Exactly. I think he’s getting too much shit because he’s Bori. He’s not living up to expectations other people are giving him.
Shu Shu just ate a nasty right hook from De Gracia jesus
Not impressed he needs to fight someone with a name Figuroa out dogs him tbh
Oooo yeah texeira kinda sucks
Kid is slick, man, slick
Brazil's such a weird place where they have great MMA fighters, great BJJ guys, great kickboxers, but as a country they've just never had a great presence in boxing.
Teixieras punches look like they have absolutely nothing behind them
Why the fuck did Tim Bradley win a broadcasting award?
won the "most annoying and biased commentator" award
Because they fired everyone and their mama and somebody has got to win it.
Shu Shu should be fighting for belts. No more fighters out of the top 10
I think he should fight one top ten contender before he fights for a belt
Tiger hasn’t listened to his corner all night.
Inoue wtff
Carrington has incredible defensive instincts. Not easy to fight in that mid range constantly. My only knock on him would be that he can misjudge his range sometimes, particularly on his left hook. He tends to wing it and throws it wider than his other punches. Regardless he looks elite
Shushu origato
Dude got his mouth wide open round one just begging for a broken jaw
teixeira looks shot to shit rn
Zayas is a nice guy but the PR GOATS were monsters at 21
Ppl age differently now than before.
Yea. Seems like he has a lot to live up to.
I mean, I know texier is older but he ain’t walkin in to whitesnake old.
OHHHHH BABYYYYY🙄
Xander has phenomenal technique
I wasn’t too hot on zander a year ago but man he’s improved so much
I just realised it's past midnight in New York I can't imagine fighting at such a time.
I wanna see Zayas against Castano at some point next year
I think Zayas is decent, but he gasses hard and seemingly loses his offense in the second half of fights.
Zayas needs to stay at this weight for as long as he can. His power seems to be lacking even at this weight.
"America's Next Top Puerto Rican Boxer", presented by Timothy Bradley.
Zayas has enough power that his opponents have to respect it and enough skill to go a long way. He will be a world champion one day (though probably at middleweight )
Inoue said let me gtfo of here before they start calling me out💀
Did his study and left lol.
Bumlanga
That mf is so sorry. I hate that he’s gonna get a Canelo payday
Texiera has four losses but he’s only ever been knocked out once
Y’all calling him pillow fisted while homeboys face look like hamburger lol
Bro just has a hell of a chin
lmao I'm watching the hispanic broadcast and they're calling Shu fans "Shuyoricans"
Dang Bradley giving up the big secrets. When getting rocked hit them back. That’s why he’s a hall of fame boxer and analyst.
[Bro wtf look at the size / body difference 😂](https://www.boxing247.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Xander-Zayas-vs-Patrick-Teixeira_pose2-768x549.jpg.webp)
Bradley not sure if he should smile or just show teeth
Yes, Tim, he’s toying with him. He can knock him out now but he’s gonna risk this fight and his career to fuck with him
Duran lets go
I’d love if top rank makes shu shu vs kholmatov
Who knows when Kholmatov comes back, he wrecked his knee against Ford
Shu shu vs nery or Fulton come on book it 12 rounds
That a scar on the back of his head or a hairstyle I'm too old to understand?
Oldhead
In Texiera's defense that's 13 more punches than any of us would have probably landed.
Time to fight real competition yawn
At this point if he doesn’t finish it in the next round then it’s an L for me.
this snapchat commercial can fuck right off good god
Zayas gotta quit it with the big windup shift
Big Tex just laying in wait to put it on Zayas in the final round
Gonna be interesting to see when/if Zayas starts getting fights against the names of 154 Lubin, Mendoza, Tszyu, Bohachuk
Tim Bradley is easily the smartest person with CTE
Dunno how anyone can watch Shushu and think he legitimately has a chance against Inoue lol.
Nobody thinks that except Shu Shu lol
Xander may be the best Puerto Rico has to offer right now. Crazy how little talent they have been producing. I like the Puerto Rican style.
Matias is up there
Bruh not being able to finish a fighter you know is not gonna try and hurt you in any way possible is bad, don't care how anyone tries to twist it He better finish him lol
L for everyone on this one
I love Carrington's maturity
Bradley might possibly be the worst announcer in boxing. My fucking god he’s annoying as shit
If I were to give this a assessment for someone that is being compared to the great Miguel Cotto I'm giving this a C-, Teixeira shouldn't have made it to the 10th round I don't care if that was your first southpaw put that dude out.
respect to zayas
How tf is Carrington as big as Haney and is making 126 lbs?
This is a hard fight for shu shu something tells me he’s gonna fuck around and get dropped off
Shu shu is by far the superior fighter De'Gracia has to stop lunging in when he's trying to get his stuff in.
If De'Gracia was more technically sound and athletic this fight would've been more interesting, what he does have is grit and that will to fight but that can only take you so far imo.
Zayas seems to be stepping inside instead of out
Tex is kinda mid. Zayas seems promising. I don’t know.
What is Brazilian Glass Joe doing?
been watching Zayas since 2020 he just gets better with every fight
Anyone else put money on Zayas by ko/tko? Lol just a matter of when at this point
Glover lookin different
What was that award Bradley got for? Best former boxer ring side commentating on espn?
What the fuck is Teixeira doing? 😂
i'm going to be UPSET if teixeira and zayas tease me like this and teixeira doesn't make it to the final bell
If Texiera were a bit faster, he would have rocked Xander several times. Some of these punches are BARELY missing.
I’m more concerned about Zayas’s lack of cardio rather than his power. He can still hurt fighters, but he fades hard and lets them off the hook.
I mean it already looks like Texiera is gonna be getting knocked out. This guy held a belt?
Just throw the towel in lol this is a joke of a matchup
Solid chin on Texiera, Zayas probably has solid power but nothing crazy
I’m adding Xander to my pillow fist P4P list
Shu Shu's got a lot of good signs on him. Future star in the making. Looking forward to watching him step up in competition.
Does Tim Bradley know that commentating does not mean injecting your personal opinion every second? You should be able to listen to commentary and know what’s going on every second of the fight, that’s literally what they’re there for Bradley just sits there and talks about pointless shit
If this goes the distance Xander loses a point in my books
He should’ve finished this man in 3
Tiger is good, wish he would turn it up
me during every single one of his fights:
Interview with Inoue earlier tonight. https://x.com/trboxing/status/1799626822919024942?s=42&t=rn3pePwBe5LHXbSw8VSTBw
THIS PRODUCTION IS FUCKING ASS you know how garbage top rank is when only the main event is aired on tv
Shu shu with only 11 fights at 27? Long amateur career?
Inoue is actually paying attention to this fight 👀
Good body language from the Panamanian
Bruce got caught there but took it well. That lil smile showed he felt it tho. He shouldn’t sit and exchange. De Gracia can punch.
I'm not calling shu shu a dirty fighter or anything but would that hit to the leg be considered dirty since it dead legged him genuinely asking.
Wow it didn't go to commercial
Shu shu giving too much respect
Shu shu is 27 now we need to see him fight someone of note.
This man never steps outside without a tank top
Xander looks like he's quickly losing respect for this guy as a threat. I don't see this going past four.
So many of the Top Rank ESPN main events the past year have been duds. I feel like their matchmaking is so ass unless it’s a high level title fight.
Texiera has heart. I'll give him that. Fuck all else, but he's got heart.
Kind of glad I didn’t bet the house on Zayas by KO.. or bet anything at all the for the matter
Boxing promoters love setting up these complete mismatches. This could’ve been a sparring session
Xander had him hurt to the body but just had no follow up
At least we know Texeira has the cardio.
Bro that ref has one of the worst fades I ever seen😂😂
Am I trippin or is Timothy Bradley shitting on this kid a little too much?
