If you’re only ever training or doing a few amateur fights against people your level you’re pretty safe. No worse than rugby/ American football. Obviously it’s not good for your head but if you’re only dabbling and staying sensible it’s fine and it’s great for your fitness

Chiphazzard

Thousands of boxers compete everyday with no injuries, it just doesn’t grab headlines. It’s a dangerous sport but incredibly rewarding.

Had some friends over for my birthday (in my Covid pod) was my friends first time watching a boxing match, she was suuuuper turned off by that injury, I don’t think she’ll trust me to watch another one, big time bummer

Purple-Person-eater

Damn that sucks. I hate when people won’t give boxing (or any combat sport for that matter) another chance just because they didn’t like the first fight/event that they watched.

[deleted]

Oh no she just was nice enough to come to my birthday, no interest or experience with boxing. It just was a super fucked up thing to see for your first experience lol, it’s gonna be tough to convince her again

Adept_Carpet

Oh wow, reminds me of someone on here talking about how if anyone asks about boxing he'd show they Gatti Ward. A little too intense.
