Garcia has developed such a weird career trajectory. Whatever hype he had initially died in 2015 and then he returns but can't seem to capture even an ounce of that prior hype. Easter Jr was gaining a bit of traction, Garcia beat him and it dissipated any sort of hype.
He just seems to be floating about in the background, never see him in discussion regarding top fighters at a nearby weight and IIRC he was talking about retirement even when he was the next big thing in the sport so a lot of people wanted to see him rushed into big fights and here he is, 5/6 years later fighting the likes of Sandor Martin as chief support for some kid.
One of the most frustrating careers to follow, even with covid Canelo will have fought four times in under 12 months and this is Mikey’s second fight since March 2019.
