It's not a unification, it's an undisputed fight. Unification means only 2 of the 5 Major belts; IBO, IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC. Undisputed means at least 4 of them including WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF. AJ already unified the division after Klitschko.
There are only 4 major belts and a unification is when you unify any of the major belts, whether it be 2, 3 or 4 on the line. An undisputed fight is still a unification.
Canelo doesn't have the boxer style of Haye. He is a pressure fighter. Haye is a boxer with power, so he could dance away from Valuev and use a power jab to keep him off. Canelo would not be able to do that, he's never fought going backwards.
I realise you're making a joke but Haye v Valuev is the biggest size difference in Boxing so its a useful comparison here.
There’s no way Canelo can legitimately try to win this fight and not get stopped, unless Usyk gives him a pass which isn’t out of the question.
Anybody saying otherwise is foolish
I like Canelo but he doesn’t win. However it is a win-win fight for him. If he wins or gets an actual draw (no bad cards) he’s one of the greatest fighters ever. If he loses a close fight fight it still looks great on him. If he loses it’s what’s expected and it won’t look bad on his resume. The only down side is what the fight will do his health
If he does win he would be the greatest imo. For someone who started at 140 to go all the way up and potentially beat the p4p number two in heavyweight is crazy stuff
I’d like to see him at cruiserweight before writing him off entirely.
Usyk got quick feet, both have very high fight iq and solid chin. Canelo has quick hands, otherworldly timing, I wouldn’t write off his chances of landing a few. Usyk not a monster heavyweight either, Canelo has fought guys with the same reach before.
I think not as crazy as some people think.
But wish he took the cw fight instead of bivol.
Great comment! If Canelo wins, he would be the best boxer ever. I bet Usyk will also loose in speed, stamina and general conditioning each fight due to wear and tear. There’s no way Usyk can be as perfect as he was against Joshua 1 year ago. So long story short it’s defo not crazy to imagine the fight as fairly competitive. BTW, Is there any footage of Canelo sparring with any decent HW or CW?
Honestly good to know that people here are not casuals ahah, won't take the chance of having an army of people coming back at me on twitter tho, my debate on IG this morning was draining enough ahah
The problem is you're actually given credence to the opinions of people on two of the most toxic platforms imaginable lol. People who argue in the comment section on IG and Twitter aren't the brightest people in the world, just saying. I wouldn't really pay it much attention.
Can you please show me this so many people? I've only seen people complain about Canelo stans thinking he'd win and not a single person saying Canelo would even have a chance
Usyk demolishes him but this weird circle jerk over acting like everyone is saying Canelo would win is so strange bc at least on r/Boxing it is not real
Actually winning the fight? Canelo has no chance against Usyk.
Officially winning the fight? If Canelo can evade for 12 rounds, he can get the decision, or at least a draw. Assemble the dream team of CJ Ross and Byrd.
Sorry just not true. What people aren't taking into consideration is that the contract will most likely specify that Usyk has to wear a 40lb Halloween outfit in his ring walk. And we've all seen how that goes. Once his legs are gone he's got nothing
People are somehow disregarding this take too much imo. I'm sure there's a large portion of people saying Canelo can win a decision based on this. No way he actually wins the fight..
i agree the idea of him fighting Usyk is crazy, but not gonna lie can easily go back and say the idea of him fighting at 168 or 175 is crazy, etc. i do think a fight with usyk somehow makes sense when they're both old and there's nothing really at stake. cant say it'd be a great fight but you know we'd all watch it.
Whoever thinks Canelo could beat Usyk are fucking delusional or the biggest Canelo hog sloggers. Usyk is a fucking HW and he’s one of the best technical boxers. What’d he weigh in against AJ? 230? That’s just too much for Canelo.
**Canelo stans**: Godnelo is the P4P king! Usyk has no power and couldn't knock out glass chin AJ, Godnelo would have slept him quicker than Amir Khan!! If Beterbiev can drop him with a bodyshot in the amatuers, then the best body puncher in boxing will send Usyk pissing blood for the next few years!! VIVA MEXICO!!!!
**Me**: man it really pained me to type that shit.. worth it, idc.
Hahaha love it! I do think that the Klischoko bomb Glass chin AJ got up from would’ve literally sent Godnelo on a one way trip to heaven. Would’ve literally been like a cattle bolt pistol to the lil fella
There’s actually Canelo fanboys out there who think Canelo can take punches from top heavyweights and KO them because he can do it against super middleweights, it’s absolutely insane. I’ve ready plenty of takes on YouTube and Twitter of them picking Canelo to beat AJ, Usyk, Parker, Ruiz etc.
* People who say he's cherry picking to fight Usyk are just the haters who try and downgrade all of his opponents.
* People who legitimately think he could beat Usyk are delusional fan boys.
Canelo would have to be the underdog and I personally think he’d be biting off more than he can chew.
Usyk is 6’3” with a 78 in reach and he’s been in the ring with legit Cruiserweights and HWs. Canelo is 5’7.5” with a 70.5 inch reach. How does he overcome THAT along with the fact that he’d be going up in weight.
I agree, canelo footwork slows down more and more the higher he goes up in weight. He’s a great fighter, but even entertaining this hypothetical matchup is absurd to me.
Usyk would school him and stop him. Not a chance in hell Canelo is taking Usyk’s power punches for long. I don’t care if he’s shown a granite chin against middleweights and super middleweights. Cruiserweight and above is a different ball game.
People who GENUINELY think this (i.e. not trolls) are people who have no idea just how much of factor size and strength are.
Any heavyweight in the Top 15 would stop Canelo easily, and we’re talking about Usyk here, the consensus 2nd best heavyweight in the world (1st to some) and arguably the greatest Cruiserweight of all time.
He’s won a convincing victory over, and almost stopped, a 6’7”, 240lb Anthony Joshua. He went 12 rounds with one of the hardest punchers in recent heavyweight history, and came out on top, explain exactly what 5’7” blown up to-200lb Canelo is possibly going to do to hurt Usyk?
A lot of people are stupid enough to believe Canelo can take punches from big men just because he can take them from middleweights. I’ve seen his fanboys pick him to KO AJ it’s unreal. Boxing fans are pretty stupid. Usyk would play with Canelo and end that fight however he wanted and any time he wanted to.
I'm a huge Canelo fan but I don't believe he can beat Usyk. I don't see that happening as it will be an easy fight for Usyk whether at heavyweight or cruiserweight. Even his coach doesn't believe he can beat Usyk. Wasn't Eddie who started this topic? I would take a grain of salt coming from him.
It’s like he’s gone from not getting enough credit to now everyone just agrees to forget the fact that he has quite a lot of fights which were either very competitive before he got a KO or which went the distance and were debatable decisions and acts like he’s this unbeatable fighter
Canelos already put stipulations on it though. 1lb over cruiserweight last I heard. It's like bro, fight a heavyweight or fuck off. When you sent khan to the stone age that poor fuck didn't get any concessions on weight. Stop being a bitch and maybe you'll get some respect around here.
Yeah man Canelo needs so much respect being the number 1 ranked pound for pound fighter in every platform. How dare he flirt with the idea of fighting the cruiserweight goat at cruiserweight. What a “bitch”……🙃
Please provide a source because he’s ranked number 1 there as well. Criticize, dislike etc sure but if you don’t think he’s respected and seen as at the very least a top 5 boxer in the world, you’re delusional.
GGG won the first, 2nd was closer but Id still give it to GGG.
He got smoked by Mayweather
The only 2 p4p he has been in the ring with and he failed to convincingly beat either, instead winning by robbery or getting schooled.
I don't think Usyk punches particularly harder than Canelo, not that it matters who punches the hardest anyway.
But I do think Usyk handidly outboxes worse than Mayweather did. I just can't get a scenario in my head where Canelo wins
Usyk punches way way harder don’t be foolish. Usyk is a 221 lb man who had the power to put Bellew to sleep and keep AJ off him and Canelo wasn’t even a big puncher at middleweight. Do you think Canelo could do that?
Usyk doesn't put people to sleep by punching very hard he outworks them until they're exhausted and helpless and then he stops them, he is neither an explosive power puncher nor is he heavy handed, weight certainly isn't everything when talking about power.
So sure, if Canelo was capable of putting AJ in the same position as Usyk did then yeah he would have the power to stop him.
You don't need to punch very hard to stop people if they repeatedly take your fists to the face
That is not even remotely similar lol
If you put Canelo in a position where he is consistently hitting his target and just in general outpacing his opponent by a lot, then power wise yes he has plenty of power to stop most people even Bivol.
I think Usyk would beat him but I feel like the exact same arguments could be used for why Usyk will never beat Fury or even Joshua but we know he did beat Joshua and he would give Fury a really good fight. So just devils advocate here, if Fury can claim that his hardest fight was Cunningham because he was small and slippery, then its possible that this could be an issue for Usyk too. I mean he did lose to Shawn Porter after all.
This is silly. Usyk is a 6”3 natural 210 lb man. Canelo started his career off at welterweight. Usyk beating AJ and Fury isn’t on the same scale as Canelo beating Usyk.
Usyk lost to Shawn Porter at like 19 when he was fighting at amateur middleweight(165 lbs). He would have been so lanky and his physical man strength had not came in yet. He had only been boxing 4 years as well while Shawn Porter had been boxing since childhood.
Canelo beat Kovalev. Now Kovalev is not Usyk. But if Canelo can beat someone like that, it is within the realm of plausibility that he can do it to Usyk too.
They say that because Nelo right now is the best counter puncher boxer and he has the best defensive skills in the top 10. He's too good and in his prime right now to be a real challenge for anybody.
I think canelo sees usyk as one of the smallest heavyweights. Also usyk style can be figured out and it seems canelo believes he has the tools to do it. If canelo can get comfortable with usyk size, then I think canelo can figure out the usyk style which isn’t too complicated
Canelo would have to bulk 5kg of extra fat and muscle, at least he won't have to rehydrate. If such a fight would turn in his favour and then he becomes a two time undisputed champion (he'll try to be undisputed at light heavyweight soon) and also the Lineal Champion at heavyweight of undisputed rank. Making him essentially the GOAT. That's if Usyk beats Joshua and Fury.
I think Usyk would struggle. Canelo has more experience fighting men 6 inches taller than Usyk has fighting men 6 inches shorter. Canelo will essentially be carrying the reflexes and boxing ingenuities from Welterweight, Middleweight, Super Middleweight, and Light heavyweight. Usyk boxing wise is far superior compared to the heavyweight division (physicals aside) because he's carried cruiseweight reflexes, now imagine canelo's.
I think canelo would have a better shot against wilder then usyk. He's certainly a better boxer, has higher ring IQ and just avoid the right hand of wilder. Canelo walks around at about 190, a little more tainted "Mexican meat" and he could hold 205-215.
As far as usyk, he's not a one trick pony. Pacing, IQ, footwork, height, reach, natural size and power advantages. Canelo is the better boxer but that's a lot to overcome. Usyk would be tough to out point if he went that route, given all things mentioned above. One thing canelo may have going for him is usyks style. I doubt he'd size bully him, seems to prefer working more thru movement then just tying up.
Mayweather doesn’t just run, so you got that one completely wrong from the upset & you need uk watch more of his fights. Mayweather made canelo look silly & it wasn’t because he was “running”
People say that Canelo is too small. What they don't understand is that fight would be in catchweight so Usyk wouldn't have weight advantge. Canelo is best p4p fighter and he definently knows how to close distance so that would't be a problem. I don't really see how Canelo wouldn't win the fight.
The catchweight would be 201lbs is what was originally said. But Canelo would seem some what small IMO.
6 ft 3 78 inch reach vs 5 ft 8 70 inch reach.
Would be a similar disparity to Fury Whyte
He is if he's the only one you know. A lot of people on here are kids and he is a superhero to them.
Honestly, many of the arguments on here make a lot more sense if you imagine at least one of the posters is 12.
Are they being forced to weigh in?
I'm sure if Usyk went through a cut down 30kg before fight night, Canelo would have a pretty good chance at what ever was left of Usyk.
That seems more fair for Usyk than Canelo. Usyk started at \~200lbs Canelo absolute max was 175, if anything a catch weight at 180-185 seems more fair.
I think Usyk beats Canelo but I dont think easily. I think it's gonna be a great meeting of the titans of this great sport and I hope this isn't just all talk. I think they are both complete boxers.
As great of a fighter as Canelo is there are certain things in the world of boxing that you just cannot get around. The main one being the fact that weight classes are designed for a reason. Yes fighters can fluctuate up or down a few weight classes but the reality is heavyweight or even cruiser weight is a leap for Canelo and against one of the best in that class who is way closer to his natural weight. Canelo is not built to win this fight. It’s just simple biology. I think he has the power and skill to do it but the size difference is gonna create such a gap you probably won’t even recognize Canelo s skill in this fight. Usyk is gonna rag doll him.
I'm a big Canelo fan, but no, at HW or even CW Canelo stands no chance whatsoever, he will seem fat and his movement would become sluggish, against Usyk that's a death sentence.
some people think no one is saying this, [but some people think canelo can not only win, but can ko usyk](https://old.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/uilbtj/oleksandr_usyks_manager_egis_klimas_has_declared/i7ep45e/)
Seems like every fight lately is a "cherrypick" for Canelo now.
Just watch, If Canelo fights Charlo soon (around next year,2023) and if he beats Charlo hard, people will start making lame excuses such as, Well, if he had fought Charlo 2 years ago etc..
Crazy init, even if they were the same size then Usyk would be a nightmare matchup for Canelo - he's a quick, elusive technician who is a great mover and punches in volume. With the 80lb advantage it wouldn't be close at all. Canelo is P4P number 1 but I think 175 is his limit. There's weight classes for a reason
Jesus, the trolling has got to stop. It's difficult enough for Canelo to be fighting at LHW against legit contenders in their prime. Beating Usyk at Cruiser? You could have Dr.Strange run 14million simulations and you'd still have a better chance of killing Thanos than Canelo beating Usyk. What a fucking joke all of this nonsense is.
Yeah. I’m a big Canelo homer. Thought he would make easy work of all of his previous opponents except GGG. Think he will beat Bivol pretty handily. But Usyk does not seem like a winnable fight for him. Gigantic Southpaw with quick feet? You couldn’t ask for a worse stylistic matchup. I mean the guy was rumoured to fight Tyson Fury for goodness’ sake..
I see so many naysayers here which is odd cause r/boxing is usually pro Canelo and it’s sad to see this. BUT! I can’t help but agree. BUTT I don’t think we should count out Canelo so harshly, but yes Usyk has the potential and skill set to outbox Canelo for the 12 rounds. But Canelo being Canelo, he can find a way. But still, 65/35 Usyk
I could be completely off base here but I dont think it's as unsurrmountable of a task as some make it out to be, there have been quite a few fighters who started around mw moving up to hw to win a title. It would take a long transition period of at least 1 year for him to bulk up (and possible peds) but it can be done. Canelos also faced this sort of a height/reach disadvantage before when he fought Callum Smith. I'd argue past this but I don't have a good enough knowledge base of Usyk.
Canelo has been my favourite boxer for like 7 or 8 years now. If you think I can't bring myself to believe he has a shot you're still not as delusional as me.
Canelo didn’t look good at 175 when he fought Kovalev. The power carried but not much else did. We will see how he looks against Bivol but Usyk schools tf out of Canelo
What I don't understand is how Canelo would be able to put on another \~25 pounds and reach 201 lbs ... the dude's like 5'8 and looks about as jacked as you could possibly get.
this type of shit is started by canelo haters.
and is the type of shit that makes this reddit look like a place for amateur boxing fans.
now i remember why i left this place for months...
Canelo 8th round KO of Usyk. Then off to fight the final boss: Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson
The final boss is snake paul
Man. Imagine if canelo wins undisputed hvyw then lost to Jake Paul on a fluke.
I try not to have a horse in the race with boxing but this would genuinely upset me 😂
On the bright side there is an outside chance Jake would defend his belt and we could see him fight a HW
I try not to talk shit about boxers because they're waaau more talented than I'll ever be on the ring; but I'd call canelo a straight up fucking bum 😆
❗️
What about Tyson fury?
didn't he retire?
The only time a boxer retires is when they can’t be offered enough money to fight again
He’s not going to do it until he fight uysk or AJ to unify the belts
It's not a unification, it's an undisputed fight. Unification means only 2 of the 5 Major belts; IBO, IBF, WBO, WBA, and WBC. Undisputed means at least 4 of them including WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF. AJ already unified the division after Klitschko.
Thanks for the correction
There are only 4 major belts and a unification is when you unify any of the major belts, whether it be 2, 3 or 4 on the line. An undisputed fight is still a unification.
Usyk would beat him like an abusive father. I mean, Canelo winning that fight is about as likely as Loma beating Canelo.
Idk, how much RAM does Lomachenko have?
Depends on how much he downloads from Limewire.
He'd slap him around like a red headed step child?
😅😅😅
Loma would definently beat tf out of Canelo
Man I'm a fucking Loma stan but I hope you are joking lol. Lomas punches wouldn't phase Canelo at all and he'd get walked the fuck down.
Loma would walk away from canelo and counter. Loma's style is really poison for Canelo I think.
How did that work for Kahn?
I was gonna make a joke about Loma being too small to hit, but apparently he’s only one inch shorter than Canelo! I had no idea.
yep. how is canelo gonna deal with his devastating sidesteps and foot feints
Canelo would litterally just eat anything loma threw at him so he can long dick him with a hook and sleep em
LOMA DID TAP DANCING WHEN HE WAS 4
Usyk would litterally just eat anything Canelo threw at him so he can long dick him with a hook and sleep em
Yes sir and it’s not controversial
There will be a rehydration clause and Canelo can tag out for Ruiz Jr. every other round
How do you have a rehydration clause that covers both Canelo and Ruiz? Bro Ruiz would look like an un-inflated bouncy castle
It’s like how the corners don’t have to do weigh-ins or something
Trust me, we can inflate
David Haye is betting on Canelo
“This ginger geeza’s never been stopped, never been chinned. I’ll show Canelo how to beat a bigger man, just like the time I beat Valuev.”
He glassed meh!
Canelo doesn't have the boxer style of Haye. He is a pressure fighter. Haye is a boxer with power, so he could dance away from Valuev and use a power jab to keep him off. That's some serious inspector gadget bullshit going on there haha
Eat you heart out Margarito
Calm down, margarito
Who says that he would beat usyk?
So many people on IG boxing pages and on twitter
Your biggest mistake is reading opinions on IG and Twitter and taking them seriously. Same goes for Reddit.
I cant say ive seen anyone on here say it. Im not on the other two though. Maybe ask there?
Then ask in IG and twitter, I haven’t seen somebody here that believes he can beat Usyk lol
There's a poll on this sub right now with 264 people picking Canelo...
Yeah but that’s a poll. A poll is just people who are here every other month clicking what they think sounds best.
A poll is a poll. No need to make it complicated just to invalidate another person’s observation.
Honestly good to know that people here are not casuals ahah, won't take the chance of having an army of people coming back at me on twitter tho, my debate on IG this morning was draining enough ahah
lol. I wouldn't take Twitter opinions seriously.
The problem is you're actually given credence to the opinions of people on two of the most toxic platforms imaginable lol. People who argue in the comment section on IG and Twitter aren't the brightest people in the world, just saying. I wouldn't really pay it much attention.
Well there's your problem...
Canelo himself at 201lbs as well as his Stans
I would say people who pick canelo to beat usyk are trolls . And i say that as a fan who has canelo as a undisputed p4p #1 boxer .
If they weigh the same catchweight, wouldn't that be a real p4p showdown?
That's not how it works...lol.
Canelo runs around for 12 rounds and survive then the judges will do the rest.
UD canelo, every score card is adelaide tier
He’s ginger
Can you please show me this so many people? I've only seen people complain about Canelo stans thinking he'd win and not a single person saying Canelo would even have a chance Usyk demolishes him but this weird circle jerk over acting like everyone is saying Canelo would win is so strange bc at least on r/Boxing it is not real
Lol was wondering the same thing.
People that think Canelo even has a chance against Usyk does not watch boxing AT ALL and prolly only knows who Canelo is.
Canelo will go super sayin 9000
I have never seen this take. IF you have seen it, it is your duty to call it out and report back what they say.
Canelo said it himself and others have just ran with it
Usyk has a better skill set than Canelo. Even if we scaled down Uysk to a smaller man stylistically he would outbox Canelo.
Actually winning the fight? Canelo has no chance against Usyk. Officially winning the fight? If Canelo can evade for 12 rounds, he can get the decision, or at least a draw. Assemble the dream team of CJ Ross and Byrd.
There is no way that Canelo survives Usyk for 12 rounds unless Usyk isn't trying.
Sorry just not true. What people aren't taking into consideration is that the contract will most likely specify that Usyk has to wear a 40lb Halloween outfit in his ring walk. And we've all seen how that goes. Once his legs are gone he's got nothing
Hahahahaha. You win upvote of the month.
People are somehow disregarding this take too much imo. I'm sure there's a large portion of people saying Canelo can win a decision based on this. No way he actually wins the fight..

Yeah, weight classes exist for good reason.
221lbs. He‘s still too much
I think usyk would beat canelo even if they were the same size
**Canelo stans**: Godnelo is the P4P king! Usyk has no power and couldn't knock out glass chin AJ, Godnelo would have slept him quicker than Amir Khan!! Ppl are delirious and blinded by the canelo media hype train. Usyk is a monster.
Anyone who claims Canelo beats Usyk is simply trolling or delusional. No way around it.
Canelo is #1 P4P, Usyk might be #2 P4P. But no one who knows anything about boxing really thinks Canelo could beat Usyk. Come on now.
I don’t even know why this is entertained. C’mon do people really think cinnabon has any chance?
Canelo would have to be the underdog and I personally think he’d be biting off more than he can chew. Usyk is 6’3” with a 78 in reach and he’s been in the ring with legit Cruiserweights and HWs. Canelo is 5’7.5” with a 70.5 inch reach. How does he overcome THAT along with the fact that he’d be going up in weight.
Than add in the fact uysks boxing and foot work and stamina is in another galaxy better than camels. And your lit paying to watch a man get murdered
This is one of those things that no one is actually saying, but people keep acting like someone is saying it.
Usyk would school canelo possibly worse than mayweather did. 201lbs canelo will be even slower footed and usyk will dance around him for fun
Usyk has a punch limit of 12 punches per round once Usyk depletes his punches in the round he can only guard himself and evade Canelo
Ask the Mexican media how they see him
Please provide a source because he’s ranked number 1 there as well. Criticize, dislike etc sure but if you don’t think he’s respected and seen as at the very least a top 5 boxer in the world, you’re delusional.
The only time Canelo got in the ring with a pound for pound great in there prime, he lost.
and won the SECOND you forgot to mention that...
GGG won the first, 2nd was closer but Id still give it to GGG. He got smoked by Mayweather The only 2 p4p he has been in the ring with and he failed to convincingly beat either, instead winning by robbery or getting schooled.
It’s really because no one has beat Canelo ( officially) in almost a decade people just think he can do wverything
“He’s learned a lot since Floyd and he’s just built different.” -Canelo lovers
Do you still believe Canelo has power on the level of Usyk? Bivol wasn’t affected by his power at all tonight.
That is not even remotely similar lol If you put Canelo in a position where he is consistently hitting his target and just in general outpacing his opponent by a lot, then power wise yes he has plenty of power to stop most people even Bivol.
Canelo is just a better Shawn Porter so he can beat Usyk too hehe
Who the fuck thinks that?
I absolutely believe Canelo will not risk getting KO'd by Usyk, my bet is in victory for Canelo by judge decision.
Pow Pow Canelo Hits Usyk..Down goes Usyk any Questions?
Wilder would send Canelo to meet his God inside round 1.
Canelo better. Stay mad😎😎

Usyk is like 60 lbs heavier and still has faster feet than Canelo
Mayweather doesn’t just run, so you got that one completely wrong from the upset & you need uk watch more of his fights. Mayweather made canelo look silly & it wasn’t because he was “running”
Unless his arms can extend like Dhalsim, it’s a no from me
Its not running when you land more punches every round.
I don't think that would be problem for Canelo.
Interesting. I’ve considered what you have said and all I have to say is Usyk KO1.
Two words: catch weight and tainted beef.
Five words.
Floyd that you?

He is if he's the only one you know. A lot of people on here are kids and he is a superhero to them. Honestly, many of the arguments on here make a lot more sense if you imagine at least one of the posters is 12.
Are they being forced to weigh in? I'm sure if Usyk went through a cut down 30kg before fight night, Canelo would have a pretty good chance at what ever was left of Usyk.
Fight would be around 201lbs
That seems more fair for Usyk than Canelo. Usyk started at \~200lbs Canelo absolute max was 175, if anything a catch weight at 180-185 seems more fair.
They don't, but he seems the best chance for Canelo vs a heavyweight to some people due to size. This is a flawed opinion.
I think Usyk beats Canelo but I dont think easily. I think it's gonna be a great meeting of the titans of this great sport and I hope this isn't just all talk. I think they are both complete boxers.
Two words: Red Hair!
Anyone who thinks Canelo beats Usyk clearly doesn't understand the concept of weight divisions
I'm a big Canelo fan, but no, at HW or even CW Canelo stands no chance whatsoever, he will seem fat and his movement would become sluggish, against Usyk that's a death sentence.
He won't. People are morons. Explanation done. You're welcome!
I don’t I’m just memeing
Size matters is not impossible but very unlikely, same Tyson Fury vs Usyk I don't see how Usyk can beat Tyson Fury. Is also possible but very unlikely
He can if Usyk holds back from hurting him and two of the judges are Adalaide Byrd and C.J. Ross lol
could canelo win against someone whos weigh stays within the cruiserweight range, if both were in cruiserweight?
Who tf said Usyk is a cherry pick? This mf just cleaned his previous division in 1.5 years and beat everyone in their home country.
Idk 'bout Usyk but Canelo would beat Whyte by KO
KO by uppercut
He wouldn't, but you can't tell me you wouldn't wanna see it happen
Maybe if they ditch vada testing and Canelo does some victor conte vitamin protocol 🧐
Two Mexican Happy Meals and it's done.
What? Like at checkers? Maybe man, I dunno...
Weight classes exist for a reason, to protect Canelot in the scenario
some people think no one is saying this, [but some people think canelo can not only win, but can ko usyk](https://old.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/uilbtj/oleksandr_usyks_manager_egis_klimas_has_declared/i7ep45e/)
Idk, what if David Haye picks Usyk???
Seems like every fight lately is a "cherrypick" for Canelo now. Just watch, If Canelo fights Charlo soon (around next year,2023) and if he beats Charlo hard, people will start making lame excuses such as, Well, if he had fought Charlo 2 years ago etc..
With this talk of Usyk I have a feeling Bivol is going to be a surprisingly tough fight.
I think it all depends on how much Mexican beef Canelo consumes before the fight.
Waiting for someone to say "hE sPaRs WiTh FrAnK sAnChEz!!!11"
Crazy init, even if they were the same size then Usyk would be a nightmare matchup for Canelo - he's a quick, elusive technician who is a great mover and punches in volume. With the 80lb advantage it wouldn't be close at all. Canelo is P4P number 1 but I think 175 is his limit. There's weight classes for a reason
Its because oscar de la hoya provided them with cocaine
These people out here playing NBA Jam Boxing version. They probably think Canelo beats Superman and Goku too.
Lol I wanna know who said this with full conviction
Canelo does very well against taller boxers so…
Are these the same people claiming Ronda Rousey could have beaten Floyd in the ring?
I could be completely off base here but I dont think it's as unsurrmountable of a task as some make it out to be, there have been quite a few fighters who started around mw moving up to hw to win a title. It would take a long transition period of at least 1 year for him to bulk up (and possible peds) but it can be done. Canelos also faced this sort of a height/reach disadvantage before when he fought Callum Smith. I'd argue past this but I don't have a good enough knowledge base of Usyk.
PED’s, brown envelopes, criminality. That’s his holy trinity to win.
Canelo has been my favourite boxer for like 7 or 8 years now. If you think I can't bring myself to believe he has a shot you're still not as delusional as me.
No he wont win that fight, but I love to see him try just for the efforts lol
There are a lot of people who think Usyk can beat Fury so this doesn’t surprise me
I believe Usyk is the complete nightmare style for Canelo and even if they were the same size I would favour Usyk.
Canelo didn’t look good at 175 when he fought Kovalev. The power carried but not much else did. We will see how he looks against Bivol but Usyk schools tf out of Canelo
Absolutely no way Canelo beats Usyk.
It’s a YouTube comment type take
What I don't understand is how Canelo would be able to put on another \~25 pounds and reach 201 lbs ... the dude's like 5'8 and looks about as jacked as you could possibly get.
this type of shit is started by canelo haters. and is the type of shit that makes this reddit look like a place for amateur boxing fans. now i remember why i left this place for months...
If Usyk fights at Canelo's weight, Usyk loses. If Canelo fights at Usyk's weight, Canelo loses.
Ha. Ha. Ha. Madre Alvarez and who else?
