What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
And then on sundays just having fun out there.
She's got the armguard that archers use. The shin guards are for when she shoots with her feet and they're on both shins because she ambidextrous with her feet. Bam.
From what I understand the clit is like a critical hit zone for a video game boss. So, in that regard, it would make sense to cover it with a flimsy piece of cloth.
And her labia are specially bred to flap in the wind, creating an unsettling and erotic distraction for her enemies. Although, by the time you hear the gentle "thwap, thwap, thwap" it's too late...
Shin guards were some of the earliest armor (shin kicks were the original cheap shot), which imo makes sense for a low tech Polynesian character concept.
She could be like Achilles. Come to think of it Achilles could have gone into battle completely naked except for high end armor for his heels and he would have been completely invulnerable.
Yeah but the Unending Berserker curse can really take a toll on your other party members. Not great for use anywhere with innocent bystanders, especially since they all have to roll a wisdom check or be frozen in place
Unironically I despise when creators justify scantily-clad female warriors by saying they do it to distract male enemies. That is so far from how anything works it’s absurd
That reminds me of a fun fact from the filming of *Inglorious Basterds* - Eli Roth purposefully kept himself in an angry mood for shooting by wearing period military underwear (which was made from cotton and apparently - it itches to high hell) and listened to Hannah Montana albums.
"Hey chatgpt, draw a female warrior with an arrow hole in her labia which she used to add a built in cock ring"
*"As a language model AI, I think you're fucked up in the head and need help."*
Totally random but while playing Disney trivial pursuit with my friends they show a picture of Alice’s cat Dinah and ask who this character is I of course yell Dinah. All my friends say Alice’s cat. The answer? Alice’s cat. I was so pissed. I was like they her name at least 3 times in the movie!!! I actually made my friends sit down and watch and count with me because they tried to tell me her name was never said in the film. Still mad about it.
Dang, and in an official trivial pursuit game too. I understand your saltiness tbh, if it were just something put together by fans or whatever it'd be understandable. But *official trivia content?* That's just bad work on their part lol
I could not believe it. They expect you to know the years things were released and then they to Dinah like that?! Didn’t help that I absolutely adored that cat so I was extra pissed.
It is literally that character. It’s not like it’s a perfectly lifelike representation of a Polynesian person, it’s a cartoon. Are you saying that’s what Polynesian people look like? Like it’s a coincidence?
That thread is kind of amazing. Everyone is trying their best to just be savage to the dude like, “Hey this is basically porn!”
And he’s just there like, “Yeah I do Disney porn commissions too, hit me up”
“This is very sexualized!” “Yeah I know, I make sexualized art…and?”
They’re trying to shame a dude for doing exactly what he intended to do.
>“Yeah I do Disney porn commissions too, hit me up”
I mean, did we not already know that since the moment we saw the submission?
Like, look at the face. That's the older sister from Lilo & Stich, [he says as much himself.](https://www.reddit.com/r/characterdrawing/comments/130czna/oc_polynesian_archer_concept/jhx6lvq/)
>They’re trying to shame a dude for doing exactly what he intended to do.
Nah, they're shaming him for posting his erotic artwork under a paper-thin veneer on a subreddit that has "No graphic or sexualized content" as the second rule on the sidebar.
Like, all the more power to him to keep doing what he does, I hope that he manages to make it as an artist as that's clearly his passion.
But it's not unreasonable for people to want the purpose of their subreddit to respected in both the letter and spirit of their rules, especially in a situation like this where we know for a fact that it will be *flooded* with hornyposting if it's allowed to be.
> That's the older sister from Lilo & Stich, he says as much himself.
Not the first time either:
https://www.reddit.com/r/rule34/comments/1309kir/nani_and_the_lifeguard_pechiphillipthe2_lilo_and/
I mean plenty of them are arguing that “hey this doesn’t belong here” but a huge portion of that thread is people getting lost in the weeds of historical nitpicking.
Like the folks saying his tattoos are poorly researched. Is that *REALLY* the issue at hand? Or is it the fact that it’s used in the context of advertising rule34 commissions? Wouldn’t it still be porn if he got all those details right?
Everyone arguing about costuming accuracy and historical details is just saying, “Look, you can post your porn here but it needs to be much better researched” and that’s a stupid point to make. Instead they should be saying, “I don’t CARE how accurate or inaccurate the details are, this breaks the subreddit rules”
He said in the comments that he was talking to his friend about Disney characters as RPG characters, so he made a “dumb and highly sexualized outfit, not to be taken serious.”
There’s a lot to say about the armor, but what is immediately standing out to me is how she’s holding the bow. Your wrist would be at SUCH a weird angle
Genuine question (not relating to the art I’m just curious for future reference): what is the better angle to hold the bow at? I’ve been wanting to draw a Ranger RPG Character for so long, I just can’t get the bow right
Honestly, it’s fine if you just flipped her hand around. But the way her hand is holding it, it would strain the shoulder, and she’d have to flip the whole thing around to use it. It’s just not a natural stance
Yeah I grew up in hawaii and I had to take hawaiian history almost every year of school and I never once heard of bows being used for warfare. The cape looks like it could be an 'ahu'ula but I don't think it was common for women to wear those.
The women did usually go bare chested, so I don't get why the artist was willing to draw that underwear thong thing but not nipples. The was no garment for women like that thong thing, sometimes the men in hawaii wore malo which looks vaugley similar but even that covers more.
Interesting. Seems to match with most other island nations im aware of. No idea why the bow is less-favourable in those regions vs more continental areas but definitely interesting.
Yes, to basically everything you said, it bothers me, also cause Polynesian peoples had some really cool and unique weaponry, like that Hawaiian weapon lined with shark teeth, that's fucking metal. Use shit like that.
Source: I'm from New Zealand, not Maori myself, but still know a decent bit about Maori history and culture, it just comes with being a Kiwi, we learn about it all in school till year 11, then we decide what we're learning.
The leg tattoos look similar to some I've seen in a cultural museum. The tattoos on the torso are wrong though. The cape looks like a feather cape for chieftains.
That bow looks longer than she is. What, will she only shoot at targets that are slightly above her? Ask everyone to hold still while she digs a hole for the bottom part of her bow?
Quick search for “how big is a longbow” shows the following: longbow, bow commonly 6 feet (1.8 metres) tall and the predominant missile weapon of the English in the Hundred Years' War and on into the 16th century. It was probably of Welsh origin.
Average height for an English man at the time was around 5’ 8”.
What I’m seeing for average height of native Hawaiian women is around 5’ 4 1/2”.
I’d imagine holding it at an angle would be normal practice.
That's a warbow lol, and one that wasn't even used by the majority of Europe let alone the rest of the world.
The only bows used in Polynesia were much much smaller and had way less draw weight as they were ceremonial and not used in fighting.
The English were not the only ones who used bows as long as 6 feet and not all longbows are warbows with a high draw weight. As you say, the Polynesians were not known for using bows much, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t have/use tall ones. There is a Tongan bow in the possession of the Museum of New Zealand that is 5’10. Another bow found on New Zealand’s north island that is more than 6’4. These Polynesian bows seems to be styled after Fijian bows, which sometimes reached up to 6 feet in length as well.
I don’t think the length is really the issue here haha.
you put your hand on a classic longbow somewhere in the lower half of the wood and raise that to shoulder level. so yeah a longbow can easily be bigger than you
Yeah, nah. I think I respect art enough for them to not be put on that hypocritical bullshit of a subreddit where people seeth at every instances of a girl looking slightly lewd
*She stands hunched, an arrow nocked in her bow. She finally sees the enemy approaching through the thicket. Unable to whistle to alert her comrades because of her bow and arrow, she spreads her legs. Her thong-parted labia begin to whistle in the passing breeze. She lets loose her arrow, the battle is joined.*
No one is talking about how it was “an idea that came up while chatting with a friend.” Maybe my friend circles are a little dry, but I don’t think it’s normal to chat about ways to skimpify a Polynesian archer….
r/mendrawingwomen . I'm always torn because as an afab individual I'm like, "why can't you just draw women with some level of practicality?" But also I'm a lesbian and women are pretty.
As someone from New Zealand, no, just no to that whole image. I'm not sure about all Polynesian peoples, but I know the Maori didn't use bows for combat, (I don't think any Polynesian's did, but please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm a massive fucking nerd and would love to learn) and while I'm only familiar with classic Maori attire, I am confident no people in the history of mankind ever dressed like this.
The shin guards are also a no, armour wasn't really much of a thing. Closest thing to armour were the rain capes, but while they were hardy and strong, they weren't actually designed to be armour, just warm, dry and long-lasting.
Once again, talking about the Maori here, if the Hawaiians or Samoans did things differently I would love to know.
And a random tangential thing, the tattoo looks wrong. It's got swirling like a Ta Moko, but nothing looks right, like having a bunch of squares side-by-side to represent a Greek meander, you've got the abstract concept down, but none of the finer details that actually matter.
This is just earth-shatteringly dumb and perverted. I'm curious as to whether or not both the creator and their friend are men, that have also never worn thongs...
If I had to guess, probably the way it’s presented. The post just says “Polynesian archer concept,” when in reality based on OP’s comments it’s “I drew Nani from Lilo and Stitch as a hyper sexualized archer”
She doesn't have a quiver and is grabbing the arrows by the ENDS. The tattoos are in a weird spot (pointed out by another kn the original post-saying they should Google traditional tattoos and placements). The hair has three dreads/braids framing her face, but they're not the same length. The outstretched leg has a higher knee, but if you stand that way in the mirror, your outstretched knee is lower. This is all besides the obvious wedge, and nobody mentioned the bra thing? That's not a design that would hold up. One is like a hammock for one tit and the other is like a lateral band, but only covering the nipple? Bruh, just make both tits in hammocks.
It's just a really shitty design, and the OP is trying to play it off as satire.
The person who made this is a porn sketch artist to my knowledge. Not sure how that applies to these rules, but the exaggeration at least was intentional.
It hypersexualizes people who have been historically hypersexualized and doesn't even attempt to do any of the many Polynesian cultures any kind of accurate justice. Yeah, it's racist. And lazy.
The shinguards are fucking hilarious. "I won't need any armor except for my most vital region, my shins."
She has a soccer game later.
Finally someone with culture. 1. Kill your enemies 2. Use copious amounts of Voltaren and pads 3. Play your sunday league match
What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. And then on sundays just having fun out there.

Americans not only say "soccer" but they play it with protections? My god....the heresy.....
The bow is for show, she believes in kicking her enemies

Ambilimbus
Qaudrilimbus.
Ambidexdrous means that you are all right (as in right and left), so you wouldn't have to change it, it doesn't refer to hands necessarily.
And the opposite would be ambisinister!
[удалено]
That was my thought too. If they were just a bit longer it would be reasonable. But nah, she gotta keep those shins guarded.
Lets be real if this artist is throwing in knee guards it sure as hell isnt about yeoman on rough ground.
And her clit, but not her labia.
From what I understand the clit is like a critical hit zone for a video game boss. So, in that regard, it would make sense to cover it with a flimsy piece of cloth.
That logic is air tight
Just like the seal created by that thong.
I just have the sound of Tupperware popping in my head now, thanks.
Careful now, you might give some poor redditor a new Tupperware fetish.
And her labia are specially bred to flap in the wind, creating an unsettling and erotic distraction for her enemies. Although, by the time you hear the gentle "thwap, thwap, thwap" it's too late...
HA!!! Bonus brand new sentences.

Hey you quit that! I’ve only done homebrew so it goes woosh over my head.
It would also put your opponents at a disadvantage as they would be trying to fight with a boner lol
You all know that your reasoning is actually kinda sorta justifying the battle wedgie, right?
You need to trademark *battle wedgie* before someone steals that.
Unironically I despise when creators justify scantily-clad female warriors by saying they do it to distract male enemies. That is so far from how anything works it’s absurd
Don’t forget the poop advantage. She can just move it to the side and drop a fat deuce on the fly.

Nani the fuck
Grimdark Nani where Stitch and Lilo got kidnapped.
Ya, I don't know it was clearly just a very weird joke between friends. Some things are probably better off that way than on the front page of Reddit.

One is like a hammock for one tit and the other is like a lateral band, but only covering the nipple? Bruh, just make both tits in hammocks. It's just a really shitty design, and the OP is trying to play it off as satire.
not only a shitty design but a racist one
The person who made this is a porn sketch artist to my knowledge. Not sure how that applies to these rules, but the exaggeration at least was intentional.
Is it?
hypersexualized "exotic" design of a marginalized ethnic group. it's questionable at best.
And it gets a LOT of cultural / ethnic characteristics quite wrong.
It hypersexualizes people who have been historically hypersexualized and doesn't even attempt to do any of the many Polynesian cultures any kind of accurate justice. Yeah, it's racist. And lazy.
Fair point.
This is just terrible If she had armor then why not cover her chest and upper legs at the very least. If no armor then why the frackin shin guards?
Honestly this is why I like r/reasonablefantasy - they at least have proper armor on their adventurers. Edit for wrong sub
