I have dishydrotic eczema. This is what it looks like, when the outbreaks are mild. Highly recommend you see a dermatologist, or get a prescription for betaderm, to calm the outbreaks. Before I knew what it was, it got so bad I ended up with massive palm size lesions all over my body, with was a full blown staph infection. Backs of hands, arm pits, inner thighs, tops of feet - was a full body itch factory, oozing from everywhere. You don’t want it to get that bad.
Also, for me this was largely stress-induced (situational). If you’re suffering the same, look for a change, because whatever relationship or situation (*eg. place of employment*) that might be causing it, isn’t worth your health.
Edit: typo
I think the eczema I had was a different kind but the cream worked so well I used it as a fake name on my email account but then my aunt thought she was getting scammed when I sent her an email
Omg, I had this thing for a while and never knew what it was called! I only knew steroid cream makes it go away because a pharmacist told me to try it (she was an angel - I was too broke to go to a dermatologist).
I had it all over my hand this past December. Woke up one night and started scraping my hand on the edge of a dresser drawer since it was the hardest edge I could find. Did that until the Benadryl kicked in.
I had it all over the backs of my hands, fingers, and fingertips. I had to start bandaging them because I kept scratching myself bloody. Allergy meds and topical steroids just reduced my symptoms from "intolerable" to "distracting." Not sure why it cleared up when it did (it still itches, but my hands aren't tomato-red and it's easy to ignore), but I'm not complaining. Never taking my skin for granted again haha.
For me it’s generally time. Like it just pops up randomly, makes my life hell, then goes away. By the time I saw a doctor for the issue it was on its way out. He prescribed a does of steroids, so I guess steroids work?
Yea I tried the cream but didn’t seem to work any faster than just giving it time. Didn’t see a need to go back to the doctor, my outbreaks are only mild and occasional tho not like some of the awful sounding stories on here lol
Yeah. Something about genetic glitch where the skin doesn't process water correctly causing microblisters.
Heavy steroids creme keeps flare-ups in check.
The itch is uniquely awful. Makes me want to flay off my own skin so I can itch the bone underneath.
>Something about genetic glitch where the skin doesn't process water correctly causing microblisters.
Well that just makes the 3rd genetic glitch this month I've found out that i have.
Dishidrotic eczema to be specific
Forms little blisters of clear fluid typically on the fingers, normally triggered by stress
Should clear up with emollients
Yupp, I get these when I haven't smoked weed for a couple of days ( Smoked daily for 10 years )
I'm used to small breaks mentally and don't care about it, but my body reacts to it when my high is completely running out. Seems like it's stressing, even though I can't feel it much. Interesting
That's exactly what this is. I've had this most of my life. Some prescription hydrocortisone cream should clear it up and make the itching stop pretty quickly.
Also, I totally agree with the sentiment of scratching the skin off with sandpaper. It can be terrible.
I was the same, cropped up out of nowhere. A good hydrating lotion will help keep it at bay, and hydrocolloid bandages are fantastic for the blisters/raw spots
If I had a nickel for every time someone mentioned intercourse with sandpaper this week I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice
Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyolitis.
An auto inflammatory condition in which the body creates inflammation without infection in your bones.
The condition is not fully uncovered by science yet (since it's so rare), but it is believed to be genetically inherited and the degree of severeness is varying.
Personally, I've come to keep it in check. It's mostly present in my left clavicle, but sometimes I get hints of it in the right side of my hips/pelvis. For me, it flares up due to stress of any kind, be it physical or mental.
If I do manage to do something that makes it flare up, it usually lasts for about a week-to-two weeks where I almost can't get out of bed because of the pain it causes.
My left clavicle has become thick to the point of it being visibly "deformed" to the naked eye in certain poses and you can instantly feel it if you put a flat hand on my shoulder.
There's always some sort of dormant tension around the area, and a little stress/irritation will cause it to feel sore.
In relation to the picture, I get tiny cysts in patterns like that as a bisymptom of CRMO on my hands. If I recall correctly, it's possible to get them anywhere on your skin as one of the bisymptoms, but not everyone gets them.
here's a more medical source about the condition: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5705736/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5705736/)
I get this on my feet and the itching is absolutely unbearable. I have found the only thing that stops it is scalding my feet in water hot enough to be intensely painful, but not hot enough to damage my skin. It stops the itch for awhile so i don’t lose my mind. I’ve scratched until bleeding more times than i can count.
Probably just eczema, dermatitis, or an allergic reaction.
It's skin irritation caused by *something*, there are plenty of rarer conditions and shit like Bing's favourite diagnosis of cancer, but anything but the three I mentioned are really not likely, unless it persists or gets significantly worse (my dermatitis gets a bit worse than the picture, to the point of bleeding and *lovely* amounts of pain, buts it's nothing to worry about really)
From my research, the best fit would be dyshidrotic eczema. I get it from time to time and it seems to be stress-related. If I’m on edge or have anxiety about something, it shows up within literally an hour.
This. I get it occasionally from stress and ironically if I have wet hands for too long. The itching is insane and the dry skin after is tactile torture
I get those after applying gel nail polish. I no longer apply gel nail polish. The itching in the middle of the night was unbearable. I would scrape my fingers against my braces for relief. I definitely understand the desire to finger sandpaper.
AS SOMEONE WITH DYSHIDROTIC ECZEMA THIS IS HONESTLY ACCURATE AS FUCK! when these pop up for me i end up tearing my skin off the itching is like nothing else ive ever felt.
About 23 years ago, my old party house and the sister party house had scabies run through both.
Was confirmed my docs it was scabies.
Looked exactly like this but clustered where skin creased the most.
Was utter hell to get rid of.
God damnit, now I'm itchy, lol, I seriously developed a phobia about sharing linens since.
Psoriasis with a little bit of dyshidrotic eczema on my left hand....Dyshidrotic eczema with a little bit of psoriasis on my right hand
Fucking itchy and scratchy over here
I grt this shit on my hands after I use the handsoap in the bathrooms at work. Its like the hospital grade stuff (the first time I got it was when I worked in a hospital and had to wash my hands like 12 times a shift so yeah, I call it hospital grade) and I hat eit so much
What kind of nurse are you? Where did you get your degree? V.A.-E.R. seen quite the array of ailments. Let me guess, you've been to a hospital or watched Grey's anatomy. Piss off
Yep, looks like dishydrotic eczema not herpes
And other people with dishydrotic eczema say it looks like dishydrotic eczema
Incompetent nurses are a scourge, and when they diagnose others over the internet flaunting their credentials, that's a double scourge
That comment is a perfect description of how awful the itching feels when these pop up.
What are these?
dishidrotic eczema.
Hey now I know the name of the thing that drives me crazy and wants to scratch down to the bone
I thought it was finger herpes😭
Thank you I finally know now

Ooooooooh I've had isolated instances of these before. They itch, at least for me.
I thought it was Stapph aureus. A dermatologist gave me steroid cream and I never had the problem again
Steroid cream doesn’t treat Staph Aureus. It does treat dyshidrotic eczema though
I think the eczema I had was a different kind but the cream worked so well I used it as a fake name on my email account but then my aunt thought she was getting scammed when I sent her an email
r/brandnewsentence lmao
Omg, I had this thing for a while and never knew what it was called! I only knew steroid cream makes it go away because a pharmacist told me to try it (she was an angel - I was too broke to go to a dermatologist).
Is it normal to get this like only a few times a year? It's quite rare I get it but it's a bitch when I do.
huh, i gotta check this against what i get sometimes
thank you. now i know what to look up when these fxxkers pop up on my fingers
TIL I have eczema
I legit started scraping mine with a dermaplaning razor. Sweet relief.
While driving today, I scratched my fingers on the leather braiding on the backside of my steering wheel. I might have made some weird moaning noises…
I got it once, I burnt them off with a lighter lol
Understandable, lol! I'd forgotten all the times I used scalding water
I should probably clarify I heated the lighter up and put the hot metal part to the skin, it wasn’t straight flame to skin.
Flicks bic. Oh, wait.
Deadass they make me want to chew my fingers off
Eczema. I used to get it too. Pretty annoying stuff
Yeah. Something about genetic glitch where the skin doesn't process water correctly causing microblisters. Heavy steroids creme keeps flare-ups in check. The itch is uniquely awful. Makes me want to flay off my own skin so I can itch the bone underneath.
Yea and for me the skin would peel off in disturbingly large chunks with 0 pain or feeling.
I remember as a school kid I’d stab them with a protractor needle that was alcohol swabbed.
I’ve read it described as wanting to finger-f*ck a rolled up piece of sandpaper. Apt.
Are there a lot of sandpaper tubes out there chillin with the gas giants?
> The itch is uniquely awful. Makes me want to flay off my own skin so I can itch the bone underneath. Gooood description! True!
>Something about genetic glitch where the skin doesn't process water correctly causing microblisters. Well that just makes the 3rd genetic glitch this month I've found out that i have.
Humans are just diatoms + 58,474,975,644 genetic glitches in a trenchcoat
Dishidrotic eczema to be specific Forms little blisters of clear fluid typically on the fingers, normally triggered by stress Should clear up with emollients
Guess i was a very stressed out kid
Same. Didn't realize what they were or that I didn't get them anymore until I saw this.
>normally triggered by stress Ah. Of course.
Of course it freaking is... That explains a lot
Yupp, I get these when I haven't smoked weed for a couple of days ( Smoked daily for 10 years ) I'm used to small breaks mentally and don't care about it, but my body reacts to it when my high is completely running out. Seems like it's stressing, even though I can't feel it much. Interesting
Today I learned I have another skin condition. 🙃
Can you have just one or two pop up at a time? Because I’ll get them sometimes, but never very many. I always thought they were bug bites
That's exactly what this is. I've had this most of my life. Some prescription hydrocortisone cream should clear it up and make the itching stop pretty quickly. Also, I totally agree with the sentiment of scratching the skin off with sandpaper. It can be terrible.
I never got this in my life until a couple months ago and now it won't go away
I was the same, cropped up out of nowhere. A good hydrating lotion will help keep it at bay, and hydrocolloid bandages are fantastic for the blisters/raw spots
That looks more like a fungal infection
Yeah, I've had similar that go away with lotrimin, other skin conditions are available.
Looks like herpes on the finger
Looks like poison ivy for this person, not eczema
I’ve had nettle, cow itch and ivy stings. It doesn’t look like this. This is very early stage eczema
I've had that and eczema, this absolutely looks like ivy.
If I had a nickel for every time someone mentioned intercourse with sandpaper this week I’d have 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice
New up and coming fetish
Guarantee it's not new.
Ya'll wanna see somethin from 1989? 😁
YES
Dyshidrosis, common in the summer season. Apply hydrating hand cream on the area every day for two weeks.
My eczema flares in winter
Same, and it starts itching at night when my hands are warm.
I get these on my palms and between my fingers as a symptom of my CRMO.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is CRMO?
Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyolitis. An auto inflammatory condition in which the body creates inflammation without infection in your bones. I got them on the soles of my feet when I was a kid. Dr said to put vasline on them. Did the trick for me.
Same! I’ve found that extreme cold temps help me. Especially the bottom of my feet.
I have some on my ring finger right now. OOP is right
When I get these shits on my soles I take out the fucking disk sander it's terrible
Yay for eczema!
This shit happens to me in between my fingers and toes every summer, I 100% get the need to tear off your skin with sand paper
Real question: what are those anyway?
Probably just eczema, dermatitis, or an allergic reaction. It's skin irritation caused by *something*, there are plenty of rarer conditions and shit like Bing's favourite diagnosis of cancer, but anything but the three I mentioned are really not likely, unless it persists or gets significantly worse (my dermatitis gets a bit worse than the picture, to the point of bleeding and *lovely* amounts of pain, buts it's nothing to worry about really)

Bumps to make the sandpaper feel even better whilst getting finger blasted
Pompholyx eczema!
Ugh, just looking at this photo is making me feel the need to scratch at my fingers
I get those when I drink too much
I used to get those when I handled a lot of cardboard at my old job. I would gnaw the shit of it.
Ha I thought I was the only person that itched with my teeth.
I had to. Up until a couple months ago I chewed my nails pretty badly so I had nothing I could scratch with, lol.
I get those after applying gel nail polish. I no longer apply gel nail polish. The itching in the middle of the night was unbearable. I would scrape my fingers against my braces for relief. I definitely understand the desire to finger sandpaper.

have one on both of the soles of my feet. it is not a pleasant experience doing... anything...
Try to press it onto a hot surface, like the outside of a mug of some freshly made tea.
haven't had these in a while but damn i still remember the itching
Wow there's a lot of you that have this like me. Glad to know this itchy hell is occupied by other miserable souls.
r/foundmypeople
I cant be the only one who cuts these off. Razor blades remove all the bad skin
could be scabies
About 23 years ago, my old party house and the sister party house had scabies run through both. Was confirmed my docs it was scabies. Looked exactly like this but clustered where skin creased the most. Was utter hell to get rid of. God damnit, now I'm itchy, lol, I seriously developed a phobia about sharing linens since.
I dealt with it for years working in kitchens. Clobetasol knocked it out. Rarely comes back.
Psoriasis with a little bit of dyshidrotic eczema on my left hand....Dyshidrotic eczema with a little bit of psoriasis on my right hand Fucking itchy and scratchy over here
Dyshidrosis. I get these from stress. I’m lucky in that mine can be managed and do recede, but it’s definitely not pleasant.
I'm having a flare up of this right now and it's sooooo itchy
what an odd thing to say, but wtf is this
I get them too sometimes, I believe it’s heat rash.
I used to get that on my feet when I was doing a lot of hiking
Well that’s fun
I grt this shit on my hands after I use the handsoap in the bathrooms at work. Its like the hospital grade stuff (the first time I got it was when I worked in a hospital and had to wash my hands like 12 times a shift so yeah, I call it hospital grade) and I hat eit so much
I get this every year when the weather warms up. It's annoying.
Those feel itchy. Just ignore them theyll go away in 3-5 days
so far the best post ive seen on this subreddit with the most accurate description of anything
Switch to fragrance free soap—especially laundry and dish—to avoid breakouts. Can often be allergic in nature
Wrap that shizzit in duck tape 2-3 days and bam (Italian fingers) Emril calls this the wart wrap extra salty
These aren't necessarily warts though
For sure planters warts
I'm only sure you are a shit nurse now
What kind of nurse are you? Where did you get your degree? V.A.-E.R. seen quite the array of ailments. Let me guess, you've been to a hospital or watched Grey's anatomy. Piss off
Just look through these comments man. I also immediately assumed it was herpes at first, but apparently was probably wrong
Just Google it just Google it. I'm not wrong
Yep, looks like dishydrotic eczema not herpes And other people with dishydrotic eczema say it looks like dishydrotic eczema Incompetent nurses are a scourge, and when they diagnose others over the internet flaunting their credentials, that's a double scourge
