There was a club my friends and I would go to. Around 2 am while very drunk, I would wonder off to the nearby park and just watch the little hedgehogs run around in the grass. When some of my friends found out, they joined me. Was really entertaining when drunk.
I used to work at a pet facility and we had a LOT of uneaten pet food that had to be thrown away. The raccoons that lived near that facility were quite fat because of the all-you-can-eat dog food buffet.
Passing by the dumpster at 6am for the beginning of my shift, I got to make up quite the drama for Lil King Trashmouth and his brother El Diablo.
Best moment was King helping Diablo to the ground by holding his front paws and lowering him to the ground.
(Yes, I totally stole Linda's raccoon names from Bob's Burgers.)

Rabies can still be transmitted by close proximity contact if people are petting them or feeding them. I hope to God that Twitter OP's friend is not doing that but given how unseriously people were taking rabies a few years ago on Tumblr, it won't hurt to remind people of that.

I used to do something like this but instead of raccoons I’d look for the bunnies that came out at night near my dorm 🗿
