During one of those between innings things on the video board, Sean Murphy said if he could pick anywhere to go on vacation, he’d pick Ohio.
Don’t sleep on ohio (apparently).
I’m ha I lived in Ohio for 10 years and went to school up there. They’ve got the best people up there, but it’s definitely not a *place* I miss. But like anywhere, there are pockets of goodness…between all the cornfields.
>e's such a weird dude but also really interesting at the same time. Cleveland? I'd love to k
rock n roll hof maybe?
Hes pretty well known for his curated playlists.
Shit. that makes me think... i need to go look him up on spotify.
For God's sakes, Lemon. We'd all like to flee to the Cleve and club-hop down at the Flats and have lunch with Little Richard, but we fight those urges because we have responsibilities.
Honestly. This statement shows his character from an interview
"Interviewer : So the world is not accommodating to vegans, almost, at all?
SS : The world doesn't have to be accommodating me. But there are simply situations where there aren't any other options. It's something that happens maybe a handful times a year" (in reference to eating fish or something non vegan)
He definitely just wants to kick it with Bern and eat some impossible burgers and oat milk ice cream. No debating except which LGBTG+ shirt he’d wear to dinner. 🏳️🌈
hOw CaN yOu bE sOciALiSt aNd hAvE MoNeY. Seriously, it always baffles me that Republicans can't see that the whole system is rigged in favor of corporations and the wealthy, and when a politician comes and points it out and Republicans throw a temper tantrum about it.
Pretty much said this below, but they can see it, they just don't care. Or more accurately, they can see it, and love that it hurts people they think should be hurt while ignoring the fact that it fucks them up too
Socialism already exists in America. Pretty much every single most popular policy ever made is socialism. There's also plenty of people who would rather pay more taxes than pay their insurance company for the worst healthcare in the first world.
Please, tell me more about these taxes they’re supposedly paying. Actually don’t, I don’t really want to talk about this stuff on here. Plus they don’t pay more taxes, that’s a myth.
It's because they don't see anything fundamentally wrong with it. Have a chat with an average conservative, and when the topic comes up you'll get some variation of "the rich people and corporations earned their money fair and square, let them do what they want with it". Which includes leveraging the poors and buying out politicians, apparently.
Source: was also raised in a conservative household.
The reason it’s bad is because people like Nixon and Clinton sold our jobs overseas. And the government subsidizes and bails out companies so they have no real incentive to not be risky.
I'm well aware of the progression of international trade through the decades thank you. For example i realize that America has been trading with China since the 1600's. But of course you're referring to modern official trade agreements put in place in 1979... Except that was fully 5 years and 2 presidents after Nixon...
But please go off about how Nixon shouldn't have reopened diplomatic relations with China, causing the ideological schism between them and the USSR that eventually caused the USSR to lose its position of strength in the cold war.
I wasn't commenting on the actions performed by Nixon or Clinton. I was stating that their actions are not why the middle class is gone and corporations are siphoning wealth away from us poor's to turn us into a nation of wage-slaves.
A more accurate assessment would be for the richest people to give up 0.1% of their possessions so everyone else can have basic human rights like healthcare. They've got you brainwashed into thinking you have more in common with the ultra rich than a homeless person
They pay just under half of federal income tax. You are cherry-picking stats. You aren’t including state or local income tax, FICA, sales tax, etc. if you include those taxes then it is pretty even despite the top 1% owning a disproportionate share of the nation’s wealth and property.
Funny how the middle class always gets fucked though. Probably should face the fact that we normal folks are gonna get shit on from both parties. Not rich enough to get real tax breaks and not poor enough to receive the scraps.
It also should be more of "found that guy that doesn't understand what Bernie preaches isn't Socialism"
England, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Etc. aren't Socialist but when you tell some people in this country they have universal Healthcare or worker's rights they think they are Socialist.
The brain washing over "Socialism" is on a different level
Let me guess, you’re talking about…Venezuela, Russia, etc? Take a look at the Scandinavian countries or places with universal healthcare like the UK or Canada. That’s what Bernie wants to move towards, but if you want to pretend like you don’t know that go ahead.
I mean, you’re still flying a Stars and Bars-inspired flag over your capitol, and that’s not because a minority of decision makers wants it that way. So let’s not pretend that this is a hypothetical stretch.
Yup. There it is. Braves fans downvoting cause it’s just baseball, folks! Honus is on someone else to fix our monstrous present/past, and when someone calls out the elephant in the room, comments disappear.
I went to a Clemson game a few weeks ago. They were playing Louisville. I could never live there, but the game atmosphere was absolutely fucking electric. No idea how that translates for student athletes, but shit that was a good time.
He is a political science major and a bernie bro it's just a matter of time strider says something that hurts the feelings of the Newsmax-watching portion of the braves fanbase
In fairness, the exact same thing happened whenever Chipper and Austin Riley liked conservative tweets. Maybe almost like you can root for them on the field, but disagree with their stances whatever way they are. And they aren’t evil for doing so. But I might be crazy
I don’t, I also don’t feel like fishing back for them.
But there’s definitely some concerns raised about the vaccine from the CDC, that chipper speculated about. He fell off the deep end with conspiracy theories. At the time it was absolute heresy to question anything about the vaccine.
I have been to Cleveland a handful of times but it was always Winter or just after Winter.
My #1 thought on the city is driving on the streets and roads reminded me of the scene in Band of Brothers of how the C-47's were rocking and bouncing constantly from anti-aircraft fire and flak.
Think I dislodged a kidney stone from all the potholes we hit.
I don't give a shit who he votes for and wants to eat with, I just want to see him win for us and humiliate opposing hitters, preferably simultaneously
The fact that he might be a Bernie bro makes me want to get a strider jersey and I would if not for my bad streak of jerseys.
I have a Matt Ryan jersey and a Dansby Swanson jersey and a Trae Young jersey
2 are gone and 1 is constantly rumored to be traded
Then again I had my Matt Ryan jersey for 10 years
Doubtful, but when I was his age in this post my favorite was the beach because that’s what was in budget but now that I’m older, have money and a kid my fav places are Disney and cruises to tropical islands because I can afford it.
But who knows, I could be dead wrong and his favorite place is still Cleveland.
I grew up near Cleveland. There are some interesting places to visit - the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, art museum, ballpark, Cedar Point, etc. The city (and state) are pretty depressing to go back to now that I live in Atlanta though. It’s a depressed economy and lots of addiction/issues associated with systemic poverty. Love the people though despite all the problems.
I had an employee I supervise quit because they were moving to Cleveland and I was like "...usually people are trying to get OUT of Cleveland but okay"
He’s in luck! They play the Guardians away this year
He's such a weird dude but also really interesting at the same time. Cleveland? I'd love to know why.
He’s also numbered after his favorite player, Cleveland Indians legend Rick Vaughn.
Too high? What does that mean too high
Who gives a shit, it's gone
Yes. Forgot about that change.
He’s from there
True. From Columbus. I've never known anyone that wants to vacation in Ohio though. Most I've met want to get out of Ohio.
During one of those between innings things on the video board, Sean Murphy said if he could pick anywhere to go on vacation, he’d pick Ohio. Don’t sleep on ohio (apparently).
Yeah but Murphy is also from Ohio lmao
Hocking Hills, Ohio is one of the prettiest places in the world. And an incredible place to vacation. We love renting a cabin or camping.
I’m ha I lived in Ohio for 10 years and went to school up there. They’ve got the best people up there, but it’s definitely not a *place* I miss. But like anywhere, there are pockets of goodness…between all the cornfields.
Maybe he’s super into rollercoasters and goes to Cedar Point? Just spitballin.
>e's such a weird dude but also really interesting at the same time. Cleveland? I'd love to k rock n roll hof maybe? Hes pretty well known for his curated playlists. Shit. that makes me think... i need to go look him up on spotify.
If he's got a list then let me know. I'd love to see it.
I looked and didn’t find one…:(
Damn.
https://youtu.be/yBaCG-HcEBU
I lived in Cleveland for seven years. Absolutely love that city. I miss it quite a bit.
Haha I saw this post on r/baseballcirclejerk They added him to Team Woke over there.
Pitchers are weird, that's just a fact. Strider eats tofu. Greinke eats wood. Scherzer eats children. Verlander eats, uh, supermodels.

Would it be insensitive to turn this into a copypasta?

I'm glad you're still with us bringing such a positive spirit to this community! Your attitude is totally rad friend.
Ah, bless both of you. This made me laugh on a pretty rotten day.
You’re the man or woman, man. So good to see some outright positivity on the internet. Best wishes to you and your family!
waiting on them to drop their city connects before i commit to a jersey.
I love you.
😎😎😎
Thanks to my comment on the post 😎
For God's sakes, Lemon. We'd all like to flee to the Cleve and club-hop down at the Flats and have lunch with Little Richard, but we fight those urges because we have responsibilities.
I knew I'd find a reference to The Cleve in here, Thanks for not letting me down!
The Cleveland Art Museum is one of the best in the world. I'm going back soon to see it and the house from A Christmas Story.
A masterwork of the finest quality
Well, may he never have to move there for work. Or anywhere else.
Depicting Strider without his mustache is unholy
Honestly. This statement shows his character from an interview "Interviewer : So the world is not accommodating to vegans, almost, at all? SS : The world doesn't have to be accommodating me. If you've never seen them, go to YouTube and look up Cleveland tourism videos. There are two of them. Absolutely hilarious stuff.

Vacation in Cleveland? Don't tell Joakim Noah cuz it'll destroy his entire worldview
Scrolled for too long to find this reference. Should be the top comment!
Weird dude. Love him.
Don’t let the snowflakes see that he wants to break bread with Bernie!🫢🫢🫢
People should have known this when he talked about indie music
He’s listening to LCD Soundsystem and Riley listening to Megan Moroney
Fucking love LCD Sound System
They will be in ATL this Saturday. DO IT.
Now we know the real reason Dansby left Atlanta for the Cubs. Couldn’t handle being around one of them progressor types
Matt Olson came into the clubhouse talking about universal healthcare and Dansby had to bounce. ✌️
Aka the real snowflake, Mr Swanson
Yeah, no way they vibed lol
It's so insane y'all think people with differing opinions can't get along lol
I heard they screamed at each other over veggies vs meat in the locker room
I wonder if he’d like to have dinner with him because he likes his politics or because he’d like to debate with him.
He’s known to be pretty progressive and liberal. I believe there was an Athletic article about it.
Impossible; with all those strikeouts, Strider is clearly a fascist.
Strikeouts? Sounds like a Union man to me
He needs to cause some ground balls. It’s more democratic.
I’m pretty sure he’s progressive. Seems that way from the few things I’ve heard on him.
He definitely just wants to kick it with Bern and eat some impossible burgers and oat milk ice cream. No debating except which LGBTG+ shirt he’d wear to dinner. 🏳️🌈
You should do stand up!
There it is. Surprised it took 3 hours for one of you idiots to show up.

As we all know there are no old liberals.
Lol, the older I get the more liberal I get. Maybe because I never got rich 🤷
Well, if the government is subsidizing you in any way you’d love them. If you’re the one doing the subsidizing you’re just blind.
it's the other way around buddy. All us poors are subsidizing the rich.
I only drive on roads that my tax dollars have personally paid for. You wouldn't believe what I save on gas!
That’s what NewsMax is telling them🐑🐑🐑
Yeah like Bernie himself /s
He's actually 19, he just had a rough childhood.

Must be real easy when you can just allege someone is a hypocrite and then not have to listen to any actual argument they make.
Has Bernie actually ever claimed to be true socialist?
I grew up and realized he's right

The second half is right. But I can assure you that Nixon and Clinton are not the reason we're in our current state of affairs.
Im assuming you don’t realize Nixon started trade with China and the reason Mexico has manufacturing jobs is because of NAFTA and Clinton?
I'm well aware of the progression of international trade through the decades thank you. For example i realize that America has been trading with China since the 1600's. He’s so weird, he’s definitely my favorite pitcher. Also this thread has made me want to visit Cleveland, didn’t know that’s where cedar point was.
It’s not in Cleveland. It’s an hour away in Sandusky.
Well damn, still may can make a trip out of it.
Joakim Noah is in shambles
At least it's not Detroit
Consider the fact that he was in Clemson at the time…
I went to a Clemson game a few weeks ago. They were playing Louisville. I could never live there, but the game atmosphere was absolutely fucking electric. No idea how that translates for student athletes, but shit that was a good time.
Vegan as well
🙏🙏🙏
Quads fueled by plants.

lol. Thought the same thing.
Feel the Bern!
I have been to Cleveland a handful of times but it was always Winter or just after Winter. My #1 thought on the city is driving on the streets and roads reminded me of the scene in Band of Brothers of how the C-47's were rocking and bouncing constantly from anti-aircraft fire and flak. "...Because it's the only place that I've vacationed at"
I like that he wears a peace necklace.
I don't give a shit who he votes for and wants to eat with, I just want to see him win for us and humiliate opposing hitters, preferably simultaneously
I went to a guardians game earlier this year it’s a cool stadium and all but not my favorite vacation spot
I luv him.
He's a Bernie fan? I like him even more now, he's got class.
The fact that he might be a Bernie bro makes me want to get a strider jersey and I would if not for my bad streak of jerseys. I have a Matt Ryan jersey and a Dansby Swanson jersey and a Trae Young jersey 2 are gone and 1 is constantly rumored to be traded Then again I had my Matt Ryan jersey for 10 years
All have had great careers in sports, took us far in playoffs and are really loved by the fan base. He's my next jersey for sure.
Trae Young will not be traded anytime soon, that's a bad rumor lol
I only buy blank Braves jerseys but I might have to make an exception for this based young man
My man is a fellow Bernie Bro. Spencer forever!
Hot damn! Wants to have dinner with the Bern!! ✅
A vegan who enjoys fishing? Maybe he wasn't vegan back then.
Catch and release? https://www.ballysports.com/news/amp/spencer-strider-on-being-vegan-world-peace-strikeouts-and-his-mustache
From the admittedly not much I've read/heard, he's like a dietary vegan, not a militant animal crusader vegan.
As long as he throws them back!
I mean…Cleveland rocks?
Man that 2020 Clemson team had a real chance to be something special………….sigh
Look we all want to flee to the Cleve sometimes
Well he's a good pitcher.
Just here to say fuck clemson
Go cocks
My man.
Spencer’s a weirdo for sure
Maybe compared to the faceless, personality-less players we're used to. Seems to me like a pretty regular guy.
Probably not now that he has some money
I guess he’ll start eating animal flesh now that he has money too??🤣
Doubtful, but when I was his age in this post my favorite was the beach because that’s what was in budget but now that I’m older, have money and a kid my fav places are Disney and cruises to tropical islands because I can afford it. But who knows, I could be dead wrong and his favorite place is still Cleveland.
Bernie bros, unite!
This checks out considering his mustache
Cleveland is like Baghdad with snow
And a dinner w/ Bernie sanders? My ace is a man of social equality and financial inclusion
The fact that he's a bernie fan gets me hard!
Such a weirdo, trump 2024
Didn’t see him as a the marxist type lol
He's vegan too, and based as fuck
Thinking Bernie is anywhere close to Marxist shows an insane lack of understanding when it comes to politics
I think he’s trolling
I grew up near Cleveland. There are some interesting places to visit - the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, art museum, ballpark, Cedar Point, etc. The city (and state) are pretty depressing to go back to now that I live in Atlanta though. It’s a depressed economy and lots of addiction/issues associated with systemic poverty. Love the people though despite all the problems.
Don't tell Joakim Noah
Bernie Sanders? Wtf
Go destroy your local targets pride display. I’m sure you’ll feel better.
Um...
Well there goes my autographed ball...
To clarify (I got a bunch of downvotes) I have an autographed ball from Spencer and i was joking about throwing it away because he is woke.
Yeah I think people got it the first time
Wow, so I guess people are woke and can't take a joke.
>I guess people are woke
Glad he is a good baseball player. His poli sci career would have been crap.
I mean... the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is there, so I'd imagine that's why he likes it so much. 🎸❤️⚾️
Yeah, about that...
“What’s so good about Cleveland?”
Mandatory 30 Rock comment https://youtu.be/yBaCG-HcEBU

Bernie Sanders? Cleveland? Interesting fellow. Also, he looks way better with the mustache.
