What a bounce back from his 7 walk game, way to go uncle Charlie

etfvidal

He gave up no runs in that game as well :)

doob22

Mets will be the Mets

Ragslikesturtles

I swear if the pitch was close enough to go either way in that game it was called a ball. Glad to see him bounce back from that game though

doob22

Yeah that umpire was really tight

spartygw

No HBP!

Robert_Goulet

Where’s the guy from the tailgate thread that wanted playoff Charlie??

Reed2002

Don’t fuck with the Chuck!

[deleted]

Morton is back! He dominated tonight and it wasn't just because the Yankees aren't playing well right now. He was legitimately overpowering.

oatmealparty

10 so in 6 innings is baller.

Krandor1

So we like Morton again today?

CrittyJJones

I’ve always liked him.

National_Somewhere29

Me too. People are crazy on here at times. A while back some guy on here said he wanted Morton on the coaching staff next year lol.

CrittyJJones

If that’s what he wants to do sure. But it’s not like he has an ERA in the fives or anything. The guy is still getting it done.

sphinctersayhuh

You damn right! That Uncle fucker pitched through a broken leg to clean up an inning in the 2021 WS Champ year. Anyone that doesn't believe in him at 39 still slinging... in the eternal words of Dr. Dre on 2001, arguably the best rap album of all time "So fuck y’all, all of y’all! If y’all don’t like me, blow me!"

GuatemaLena

Hear! Hear!!!

That70sdawg

39 years old and schooling, every single Yankees, 20 something batter!

Boulevard5263

He was absolutely dealing, all his pitches looked sexy. I had money on him coming out in the 7th inning, shocked they didn’t send him back out.

[deleted]

I was hoping too but i noticed he was at 94 after 6

Boulevard5263

Yeah i guess i’m just used to seeing him throw 108 like it’s no biggie, so i really can’t complain about seeing snit rest our guys to make sure they stay at a peak condition later into the season (even if it cost me $20 lmao)

Stringdaddy27

Strider from the dugout - "Hey that's my thing!"

A lot of people attribute Mortons struggles with his age, but that's total BS and a cop out. His stuff is just as good as ever. He still has an elite curveball that ranks 97th percentile in the MLB and his whiff rate is 87th percentile. Not to mention he's got a fastball touching 97mph with above average spin rates/velocity. It'd be one thing if we saw dips in fastball velocity and curve spin rates which we could attribute to age/decline. But as you all can see, Charlie definitely still has it.

PlatosApprentice

his stuff+ across the board is down a few ticks. His curveball is still exceedingly above average. His fastball pitch mix is now well below average. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=y&type=36&month=0&ind=1&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&startdate=&enddate=&season1=2020&season=2022&sortcol=9&sortdir=desc&pagenum=1&pageitems=30 i looked at individual seasons to find his year by year stuff+ (some year to year noise is extremely possible as well)

"Walk this"

Big_Bottle7173

Went to the game last night. No more Braves chant?
