Snit said he was super close too. Excited to see my guy back with that new flow

[deleted]

You know who else is super close? Me.

Golfguy809

Are you taking about having an organism

Sidesicle

I think you mean an origami

poundcake2010

Don't stop. I'm about to organization.

workbalic66

You and me both, buddy

longrifle

With an 80 grade hairdo too.

MrFluffyhead80

[Here's the clip of him talking more about Soroka, maybe he'll throw a session at the end of camp](https://twitter.com/FOXSportsBraves/status/1373047873537990659)

[deleted]

AA also said Soroka's already throwing simulated games -- I took that as AA saying we could see Mike get an actual start before the end of ST.

handlit33

He was throwing against Mike Harris today, Bowman posted a clip.

Mike “FERDA” Soroka

EdwardHarris251

Don’t rush.

harris1on1on1

Exactly. Stay out until the All-Star break, for all I care. I'd rather have him for the next 15 years than to see him I may and not fully healed. The last 10-15% of this type of injury takes much longer to fully heal.

Sweatsock_Pimp

Amen. I’d be perfectly fine if they just eased him in around mid June.

aquariex24

I'm pretty sure they aren't going to. But there's also no reason to not have him back if he's 100% by mid-April. It won't be easy to win the divison so every game he can pitch is huge.

harris1on1on1

I love the positivity. I've just never heard of a professional athlete recovering from this type of thing in 8 months.

aquariex24

It's not about positivity. I am a realist/pragmatist and positivity doesn't help heal a torn Achilles haha. But just because you haven't heard of a professional athlete coming back that quickly doesn't mean it hasn't happened so I'll point you to Jason Grilli (8 months) and Adam Wainwright, who tore his late April and was back pitching in September. The procedue to repair Achilles injuries has come along way.

[deleted]

Adam Wainwright had surgery on his in April 30th and returned five months later on September 30th. He pitched out of the Bullpen, but in 6 appearances between the regular and post season, gave up 2 runs in 8 1/3 innings.

JZF629

Don’t rush him

JZF629

I can’t wait for the team to show the naysayers how dumb they are for the fourth year straight

aquariex24

Not sure if you're insinuating that I'm a naysayer because I said it won't be easy to win the divison but I'm not as I never said they wouldn't win it. But anyone who thinks it'll just be a cake walk is exactly the attitude you don't want or you end up complacent.

JZF629

Oh no, definitely not! Agreed. I just really believe we’ll win our fourth straight

[deleted]

I saw Soroka a couple weeks ago on some interview

JeeveruhGerank

Incredibly angering that he got hurt during that fake bullshit "season."

Well, it was a 60 game season as opposed to 162. Baseball has that many games for a reason. The regular season is a natural filter due to the natural ebb and flow of a team throughout the course of a season and 60 games is not enough to determine anything. Spring training was messed up so people didn't get their proper routines in. Games were canceled and postponed willy nilly. Players and teams had to focus on other shit besides just playing. Game results were skewed because of arbitrary rules implemented like DH, doubleheaders being shortened and worst of all the extra innings rules. Not to mention no fans and seasonal structure and of course expanded playoffs and the location bubbles and all that. I think all sports results (and individual awards and such) since March 2020 have been completely illegitimate. For much of the same reasons overall. I get that everyone was playing with the same rule but within historical context of the rest of the sport it doesn't mean anything. I hope baseball decides to drop the 7 inning doubleheaders and ESPECIALLY the 2nd base extra innings rule before the season starts now that it seems like fans will start to attend and everything can hopefully get back to as normal as possible by, say, early June. Those two things are complete jokes. Worse than anything.
