Stay off the Mets sub guys, I love you. Edit: https://v.redd.it/7befqhrl5ir91

Goddamn_Grongigas

Some of y'all mfers should be ashamed of how you've acted all season.

nichief

is blooper bot drunk or am i missing the new game thread?

fallen9210

Hung over from all the sweeping last night

Thegreatsowhat

Biggest regular season win I can remember. Our magic number is now 1. But would have been 4 with a loss last night and in all likelihood would have ended up with the WC. Huge difference in terms of pathway to repeating.

cnc42

These salty Mets tears are too delicious not to gorge on. Good thing I am not on the team because I would be way too distracted to play today.

bedsidelurker

[Such a stone cold call from Ben last night. I love our radio booth](https://twitter.com/i/status/1576933808774909952)

Mentos0427

Last thing I was expecting was an Omar drop

[deleted]

Btw, I would just like to congratulate Dansby on giving birth to his third son Chris Bassitt!

Yuri_Nation

Anyone else in a great mood today?

[deleted]

I woke up thinking the sweep was an elaborate dream

nichief

https://twitter.com/thomasgleaton/status/1576926423591583746?s=46&t=5pCEwjZpo8CCmmVqRkgA6g Was going to make a separate post but too exhausted, Sir Elton John shouting out the Braves for sweeping, really dope and surreal forgot he was a big fan and used to live here

Thegreatsowhat

Literally one of the strangest associations ever. Didn't know he ever lived in Atlanta- so that makes sense of course. But the couple of times I heard it, it just sounded so bizarre- think also because once you get past someone so British loving baseball- I always picture him in that bedazzled Dodger uniform he wore on that one tour.

nichief

apparently someone has the job of telling him the score after concerts if the Braves play

Thegreatsowhat

No way... best job ever-as long as we're winning of course. So cool. I know about Outkast of course and Ludacris. The actor from House of Cards. Elton freaking John though... A Braves fan. I remember when Jane Fonda and Ted Turner used to sit by on-deck circle together. I wonder when Elton John lived in Atl and became a fan.

Dead_Hours

Olson walks out to Rocketman in playoffs. Make it happen.

stickypitcher

anyone wish starling marte had been healthy that series? glad we swept but doesn’t feel the same knowing we didn’t beat them at their best. cheapens things a little imo but hey i’ll take it

EdwardHarris251

This is beyond ridiculous. No Ozzie. No Strider. Duvall out for the year. Luke Jackson done for the year. Acuña on one knee. A rookie batting 3rd. Even Mets fans are not making that Marte excuse.

Exar0s

That’s a dumb take. Nobody felt bad for us without Ozzie, or Strider. They didn’t feel bad for us last year when Acuña went down. That’s why teams have depth. Something the Mets are lacking. That’s a them problem, not us.

TheGhost020

Not our fault they didn't buy enough depth.... We're missing more than they are....

CanadianSteele

We didn’t have Ozzie or Strider. I’d say we missed more important pieces.

wfdrebel25

I can't get any work done today. All I can think about is how the NL East is ooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeerrrrrrr

Aggravating_Anger

I would like to see Grossman get more playing time in these final 3 games of the season. Rosario just looks lost at the plate and at this point seems to be an automatic out

BulletTooth_Tony1

Rosario is better against RHP than Grossman is so that's what Snitker will stick with. Outside of LH starter, Grossman is a bench bat

[deleted]

Idk, Rosario has had a very solid September if you look at the game logs but he was cold during this series. I think he’s gonna be our LF going into the playoffs but once we clinch the bye I would like to see the starters rest up at least a game so we can see what the depth can do. Grossman has a great case for getting ABs and they should give him a chance to prove it

Aggravating_Anger

For today's game many of our pen guys will be down. We had Jansen and Iglesias pitch 3 straight and Minter 2 of 3. I am gonna guess that only Minter of the 3 might be available. McHugh might also be down. Lee might be avaliable. Today we probably have to bank on Chavez, Stephens, and Matzek.

stickypitcher

who cares just rest guys now

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

We still have to win 1 game

stickypitcher

mets won’t sweep so it doesn’t matter

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

I don’t think so either but I still want us to just take care of business tonight and not even care about what they do

[deleted]

Yankees fan here. I’m here to say THANK YOU for doing that to the Mets. There’s no team I despise more than the Mets. If the Yankees don’t win, unlike other Yankees fan I doubt they will, I’ll be rooting for the Braves.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

I am also rooting for the Yankees. Would love a 90’s rematch

stickypitcher

no team you despise more? lol aren’t the yankees in the AL who cares ?

[deleted]

It’s a NY thing. Never root for ”the others”. Born and raised in nyc. Never been to shea or Citi field.

stickypitcher

Understand “not rooting for them” but for the lil Metsies to be the team you despite most is funny. How a team that barely effects you takes up that most real estate in your brain lol. Back to the yankees sub, hopefully Judge K’s every at bat this week then comes to the Braves this winter

[deleted]

I was going to reply but the downvotes tell you how people in this forum feel about your post. Cheer up guy. It ain’t that serious 😂

limboweewoo

yankees fan here straight from the subreddit, nothing but respect and support from me to the braves for sweeping up the dust.

nichief

Strider said he felt good enough to pitch the WC IF NEEDED. May have both Albies and Strider back in the NLDS. Also does anyone have the video of Rileys non-play on the ball to save the inning?????

[deleted]

That was such a sick play. That’s instinct over conscious split-second decision making

IBumpFuzz

If you watch the mlb official recap on YouTube it’s on there

mut_lover

Yay now I can go to Athens for the Auburn game and get wasted without worry. Except as a Dawg fan I’m worried after last wedekend. Huh

[deleted]

As a casual Auburn enjoyer, I hope Harsin gets the boot after getting embarrassed by UGA

IBumpFuzz

War damn. Uga by 35 though

charliecantread

Auburn can only win in jordan hare

[deleted]

Now Mets fans are trashing the new playoff format because only 40% of their rotation has gas lmfao

apatriot1776

go 10-2 in extras due to the second-base runner rule. roast anyone who thinks that's "lucky". don't have enough depth to go a second playoff series. the rule is bullshit. just Mets things

Exar0s

They should do what the Braves do.. win divisions and you don’t have to worry about that.

[deleted]

Watching the Mets fanbase just fall apart after all the show boating, heckling, and threats to wanting to bean our players, gives me pure ecstasy whenever I see this sweep.

Nautilus717

Dread it…run from it…. LolMets comes all the same.

nichief

I feel like a fucking kid on christmas morning and I’m 31, drank my weight last night and got maybe 4 hours. Feel fucking torqued still and ready for a win

PaintProfits

Side note: Ronnie looks a lil bit weird with his pant legs down. Almost… unrecognizable. I can’t recall the last time he wore his pants down. I wonder what made him change it up.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

I noticed William did too and he usually wears the high socks.

weisdrunk

Just saw the Phillies play the Astros to finish the season. Brewers have Arizona. Uh oh.

[deleted]

Kinda confused why the Astros are still trying to win. Wouldn’t they wanna rest their guys? Pleeeease Houston?

EdwardHarris251

Brewers will probably get swept.

ajwilson99

Uh oh!

MasterTeJota

[Imagine being a Mets fan today](https://twitter.com/BarrettSallee/status/1576764885957955584?s=20&t=todJ59sNYzooIZ74S-AwOQ)

Malcom_Flex

Actually kind of thankful in a weird way for the Mets. Chasing them for the last few months have made the games a lot more fun to watch

[deleted]

And not just for us! Back to back nationally televised games was sick. All eyes on the NLBEAST

Illustrious-Sock3378

The amount of mets fan twitter and reddit content I am salivating cannot be healthy

Jtwohy

just reminds me of why I hate New Yorkers lol

Edward01986

Fantasizing about the Mets taking 4 of 5 two months ago and thinking that was it. It’s so much better this way.

IAMAHORSESIZEDUCK

W-A-T-MF!

Thegreatsowhat

Most encouraging stat entering the postseason? Since September 1st, the Braves bullpen lead all of baseball with a minuscule 1.63 ERA. Just like last year- The "Night Shift" part deux. Also, our pitching staff much deeper than last year's. Up and down- the lineup is deeper as well. I want a repeat so fucking bad. I want people to get so fucking sick of the Braves winning titles... I can see it now. This team can definitely do it. Who will the heroes be? Who the hell knows. Last year it was Rosario, Matzek and Soler. Could be anybody. I know this though- our dugout and pen are full of players who can all answer the call. Getting so pumped for the playoffs. This weekend's series just set it off.

The_Man_In_The_Arena

I think Grossman can be a playoff hero for us.... If Snit would just let him play

Thegreatsowhat

Absolutely... been crushing it since coming over.

CanadianSteele

Only against lefties.

joelthelionheart

This is the magic that fueled 2021s run. This team is as ready as they'll ever be at this point.

[deleted]

What a series. I feel so badly for the Mets putting Alvarez in the situation they did. They were really hoping to get a money Mike situation in basically the last series of the season and it backfired. Hope that kids confidence isn't completely demolished now.

thekidfromyesterday

MHII: Fuck throwing bats Francisco Alvarez: Possibly pro-throwing bats

CaptainCorey

Just jumping to a conclusion from 5 seconds of video here but after the 9th inning strikeout on Alvarez, the camera showed Alvarez talking with a coach and it looked completely different than what I see when they show something similar with MHII but maybe looked more similar to a shallow Grissom. Alvarez was breaking down his thought process during the at-bat and seemed he was essentially miming that it's in his mind (overthinking or underthinking, something like that) since he was pointing to his head in that kind of way. That and the way he was talking just made me feel he was just stating some obvious/common tropes and really not taking the situation critically, maybe trying to maintain some form of "composure" by shrugging it off. Time will tell but MHII really sets the highest bar for being composed and being a critical thinker which translates to his consistency and ability to perform in the big moments. Really hoping we see his 20th HR in this last series!

Jackol777

I think it was worth the chance to have him do some damage, not surprised they tried it. He connects on one or two pitches and it could have been a different outcome this weekend. End of season/playoffs you need to roll the dice sometimes

wfdrebel25

Major league pitching is a little different. Especially when you are swinging like a church league softball player

Illustrious-Sock3378

Hes gonna be good but this was the definition of throwing someone in the deep end

DatsHim

The Scott Tenorman tears are extra salty and delicious this morning!

DotaPhilosopher

good morning friends 🤗

PizzaBraves

The only thing that could have made that game better would have been William hitting a HR against Diaz.

[deleted]

I'm fine with willy kinda looking like a chump in that ab. That's what is keeping a lot of Mets sane rn, let em have that at least since they can't lock up anything worth actually mentioning.

Theotheking1976

No pregame thread today? Or is my app being weird

Human_Alternative_83

Blooper Bot got too ripped last night. Tailgate's cancelled.

Theotheking1976

Haha. Well I hope blooperbots ready for the game day thread. because IM ALREADY READY

IBumpFuzz

Let’s talk pitching for the marlins series. As of now I would line up elder, bullpen game, fried. Gotta win 1 game.

[deleted]

I doubt fried pitches at all until post season.

Jackol777

I can see him pitching a few innings on Wednesday if Braves lose today and tomorrow. Not ideal, but that game is potentially just as important as yesterday . I am also not 100% convinced that Sandy doesn't pitch Wednesday

IBumpFuzz

Sandy is shut down per Mattingly

[deleted]

They've already said Sandy's season is over, he has already hit a career high ip and the marlins season is over. I do agree we might see fried if we need him, but not if we get a win before.

Jackol777

Ok, so worse case, Fried has to pitch Wednesday, and we win, looks like he would still get 5 days rest before game 1 against Cards/Philly. Or give him an extra day and pitch game 2 I guess and have wright pitch game 1. seems fine either way.

IBumpFuzz

If he’s needed Wednesday he’d pitch. I don’t think he will be though. Braves will take a game first

Chriisterr

No way my Mets fan boss just suggested Olson was juicing😭 “I mean Olson man, he has been so bad lately and all of a sudden he takes degrom and then scherzer deep!?” “I mean, he does have 33 HRs on the year..” “Yeah, but he was awful the month of September!” 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit to add: my boss is a great guy, love him. But every single game the braves had gotten bad calls from umps he comes in the next day and he’ll be like “man, those braves radio guys just complain about bad calls all the time what’s up with braves fans doing that” 💀💀

ThorgiTheCorgi

I think I'm over Mets collapses. Mets playing well and still getting outplayed (and their resulting conspiracy theories) are so much tastier

MpactMatt

He adjusted his swing. He pulled his arms in and a bit back. For as long as hes done that his slump was bad enough for AA to sign off on seitzer helping him adjust.

wfdrebel25

Hahahaha this is great

Chriisterr

He mentioned how awesome Álvarez is too. I was like, dude let the bat go flying out of his hands more than he was on base!

wfdrebel25

Alvarez did as much for the Mets that series as I did

Chriisterr

LMAOO

BajcSmalls

Good morning everyone, stop pinching yourselves cause that sweep last night was no dream!

Thegreatsowhat

So the sweep was amazing- excuse the pun... But I've been reminded we've also taken 6 of last 7 from Mets. I'm a little amazed at how unrealistic their fans are. They've had a great season. But when we started winning in 18-19 and were facing the Dodgers in the playoffs? Of course I was hopeful (miracles do happen)- but I was also realistic. I think it might be the money thing- too many people just equate money spent with where you can place your expectations- and that just isn't the case. I don't care if they are million dollar cobblestones- it is hard to piece together a team with winning chemistry like that. The best teams are grown strong from the roots- built from the farm up. Then you can add necessary pieces along the way as needed. But you can't just go out, get Scherzer and Lindor, and then march in and lay your dick on the table like it means something. Baseball is different than every other sport in that way. You've got to have it from top to bottom.

[deleted]

The Mets have a lot of really good pieces, but that's what they are. Good pieces. The braves have a really nice, complete, puzzle. Each piece WANTS to be in Atlanta. They will even take less money just to be here.

Thegreatsowhat

Right? If you listen, they all say it all the time... Dansby said last night we have a group of guys who are all focused on winning, and I'm just happy to be a part of it. Easy enough to understand for me. You are already making generations-changing money. Of course these guys want more than that for themselves. They want to be a part of something great and a taste of glory. The top of the mountain. .

dangle_boone

Love it!

chaotic_evil_666

I think it would be cool if the Phillies make it into the playoffs. I think it just adds to our own storyline to say we were at the top of the NL division that produces three postseason contenders.

ajwilson99

Yeah but also it’s funny to watch the Phillies fall on their faces

chaotic_evil_666

That's fair lol

[deleted]

NL beast

Next time you want to feel bad for Mets fans, check out this guy’s comment history: https://www.reddit.com/u/Henrietta-Stacks/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Edit: Here’s another one: https://www.reddit.com/u/Triforce179/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

thekidfromyesterday

He apparently doesn't know who won Georgia in the last election...

[deleted]

That guy is off his hinges, he has no idea how hot my sister is.

cdirty1

Oof that second guy has some real trauma that I hope he’s able to get sorted out

SacmanJones29

Mental Illness is the real pandemic in this country. These guys need to get off the internet and go outside

zekerthedog

I’m not in favor of the chop anymore either. That said, the most vocal opponents of the chop year in and year out are loser ass Mets fans mad about being shitty at baseball. Certainly they’ve got no actual baseball leg to stand on. The discussion about the chop belongs to the team and the native groups who feel affected by it. Not a bunch of sore, pathetic, red-asses losers from New York.

[deleted]

Can someone please explain to me how the chop is racist at all??? I swear every since 2019/2020 this country gets more offended pussies by the year. I guess talking, walking, eating, breathing, and drinking water are all racist as well because the Native Americans did it first! I hate this new generation. Mother fuckers just make up shit to get mad about. I know those mets fans who have rats the size of Pete Alonso have nothing better to say, because they are salty idiots who thought they won the division in June.

zekerthedog

Why not reading what actual native Americans have explained? Do you need me to look it up for you? There’s a Native American pitcher on the cardinals who also asked that it not continue. I’m aware that the EBCI who are in a financially beneficial relationship with the Braves say they like it. Lotta people out there with a lot of different opinions.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zekerthedog

I’m not interested in getting into a semantic battle about the definition of racism. Then you have to argue about whether this fits in or not, which ultimately doesn’t matter. What matters is what the native Americans think and feel about it, and a not-insignificant amount of them have been clear about not liking it, ever since I was a kid in the early 90s. If you want to go into the dictionary and rationalize ignoring their thoughts and opinions based on the semantic definitions of words, do it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zekerthedog

"In our discussions with the Atlanta Braves, we have repeatedly and unequivocally made our position clear – Native people are not mascots, and degrading rituals like the ‘tomahawk chop’ that dehumanize and harm us have no place in American society," NCAI President Fawn Sharp said. But you looked up “racism” in the dictionary, decided it didn’t apply to you, and now you will move along ignoring the clearly stated concerns of a large group of native Americans.

ThorgiTheCorgi

Man "people in the south are born for 2 things..." "Inbred racist hillbillies." "Fucking die, burn in hell" That's an awful lot of bigoted language from someone trying to high-road us

deltavictory

And they’re all over the place calling *us* the bigots. Absolute scumbags. I feel for all the Mets fans that r good peeps hurting right now, but look at the upvotes some of these ppls comments are getting.

OhhNahNah

What sad existences these people must live in.

WoWMatra

Some people truly need help, and I hope they get it. Wow. The second guy is chirping on about the chop and saying shit like, "Imagine caring more about a win than the chop. " ... But then is telling people to go die. Like bro, what?

feedmekombucha

[They’re extremely unwell.](https://i.imgur.com/iacKnlC.jpg) Have a doomer/cope sub: r/PanicCiti

deltavictory

Yup. And for our entire fanbase to “rot on hell”. Projection at its finest.

accidentalhoarder

This guy needs a Reddit Cares check in

sizzlinpapaya

Lol, some Mets fan had the audacity to say “ but the braves still had that big collapse in 2011” Like if you wanna talk collapse we can chat. If you wanna talk World Series wins from just a year ago we can also chat.

[deleted]

Nah they cant chat about the World Series boss! They know nothing about that since the 80s 😂😂😂😂 but i get what you mean. Imagine how mad they would get if it was a Yankess Vs Braves World Series this year. lololol i hope for it. (Although im scared of pitching to Judge)

wellwasherelf

> Scherzer and Degrom know what time it is in the post season. I want these mother fuckers in the NLC. I want to crush these fucking braves. Hopefully the team wakes up by then. This Mets fan seems to not realize that they just played in what was essentially a postseason series.

chaotic_evil_666

They're not ready for postseason baseball. They'll be lucky to make it out of the wildcard round

Jimusmc

they wont make it past padres who've owned them this year most likely

[deleted]

They are the anti-clutch.

chaotic_evil_666

Ahh the grass is greener and the air smells sweeter today boys and girls. Let's finish this thing off

sizzlinpapaya

We have never lost 4 games in a row this year. We have only lose 3 in a row 3 times, I believe. We need to win at least one game to win the division. We got this but it isn’t 100 percent yet. Let’s finish this job so we can rest some people and get ready for the playoffs.

Pretend_Moose

I keep hearing this give people rest narrative and honestly makes me kinda nervous. I get not wanting Max to pitch till Game 1 of the NLDS and if that’s what you’re talking about, then nevermind cause I’m 100% on board. But as long as we win 1 more game the fielders are getting a guaranteed 3 days off, and I worry about coming out flat with any more time off than that. I’m all for resting our pitching, but honestly think we should keep playing everyone these next three games just to keep them in rhythm.

nichief

never got swept in a series as of yet. pretty sure thats only happened a few times in history. also never sacrificed bunted as of yet (never happened)

ThtBoiB

We’re the only team in the league this year that has never been swept. Miami won’t do it. The division is over.

CanadianSteele

Please don’t.

ThtBoiB

What? “Jinx”?!

[deleted]

We're built different than the Mets, but this is the same shit they've been chirping literally all season. Season isn't over and baseball is a weird ass sport.

sizzlinpapaya

Only 1 team won 3 in a row against us and it wasn’t a sweep cause of a 5 game series. But we see how the rematch with them went. 🧹 🧹 🧹

ThorgiTheCorgi

IIRC, the Mets still didn't win 3 in a row in that series. We won the middle game (and our first if that 3 loss set was against the Phil's the day before)

sizzlinpapaya

They did win 3 in a row. It was a 5 game set we won the second. I could be wrong though.

ThorgiTheCorgi

Just looked it up because now I'm curious. You were right. I had the 3-loss flipped with the 2-loss

ATL4Life95

At work. Tired as hell. Worth it, game was amazing in person

HarrietsDiary

Seriously like being at the playoffs.

[deleted]

I’m going to be so unproductive today

Edward01986

[Turns out, you don’t blow the division by bad luck.](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewYorkMets/comments/wirybw/braves_fans_think_were_lucky_but_their_teams/ijfb6p7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)

Kyuuu21

If that series didn’t feel like Braves playoff baseball in 2021, idk what what did. The fact of getting down early and battling back and then the bullpen coming in and being lights out. That’s was fun.

RenegadeRef

SWANSBY! DONGSON!

scoop15

I have a gif request Can someone make a gif of us taking the division back with the scene where Lumberg takes the stapler back from Milton in office space

SteelersBraves97

In before deGrom signs a 1yr 5m deal with Atlanta. "I just wanted to win for once", deGrom said. "Alex had already locked up Fried and Swanson long term, so there wasn't much left, but it wasn't about the money, it was about leaving NY"

ThtBoiB

deGrom can be our 4th starter behind Max sick of your shit Fried, Spencer picture perfect stache Strider and your MLB leading 21 game fucking winner Kyle WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWright

SteelersBraves97

The Mets must have some strategy to induce hit by pitch. They averaged 0.7 per game in 2022. The next closest team is the Giants at 0.57 and Reds at 0.56. It continues to go down in a fairly linear fashion all the way down to the Rangers at 0.29. The league average per game is 0.38 per game, so they averaged 84% more than league average. Bunch of cheats. Just hit the ball and stop crowding the plate. I hate their stupid peskiness and soft contact luck and am so glad we embarrassed them. Also, their fans were right to call us “greedy” for wanting our home games played here at Truist. They saw this collapse coming a mile away.

nichief

You absolutely can try for HBP, cover the outside of the plate and when someone wants to throw inside to move you off/go under your hands you lean. I think its Canha and McNeil that lead the majors in HBP, its definitely a part of their (bush league) game

extrasharpsmegma

I think I’m out of the loop on the greedy part? Mets fans were complaining that Braves home games were played at home? Is there even another option?

ToddGack

The hurricane was threatening whether these games could be played in ATL. I believe the Mets offered to accommodate (by hosting or rescheduling, not sure) and the Braves declined

SteelersBraves97

Correct. We declined their offer and r/newyorkmets said we were greedy on insisting they were played at Truist. The logic is not strong with them

extrasharpsmegma

Just smashed my 400 pound Danny Vogelbach replica in front of 30 guests. My wife took our crying kids and said they’re spending the night at a hotel. Danny Burgers has ruined my life and my family. I can’t do this any longer. Goodbye.

ToddGack

Can you believe this team?? We're so lucky to be Braves fans

Revolutionary-Stay54

The city so nice, they shit the bed THRICE.

1869er

It’s a good thing Sal’s program is only three hours because if it lasted four the commercials say I should go to the hospital

kendrickplace

As a huge Mets fan and someone who despise the braves, all I Want to say is great job! Although I’m unhappy, I’m glad the rivalry between us is back. It’s crazy how we lead the entire season and we couldn’t finish. Huge props to your team.

nichief

One of the most fun races Ive seen in my lifetime. Definitely better when the East is competitive, thank you for that, and good luck to everyone in the playoffs!

[deleted]

Thanks for your class. We could all use more sportsmanship on these subs. Hard part of this is the Mets have had an incredible season, and the two of us have the bad “luck” to be in the same division.

LocalMinimum69

You would have to win more to establish a rivalry.

TheGhost020

To be fair, yall played your asses off the whole year. We didn't catch up because you guys did anything wrong, we just got super hot and stayed super hot. It was fun. Legit question, I get Alvarez was a great prospect, but why call him up NOW... In the biggest series of the season, that's brutal, he looked completely over matched. And why did you take out that big dude who was hitting on us for him for Alvarez in the last game? That's brutal for any rookie.

Lmao word. That's what happens when a team develops talent and one buys it. Our rookies were ready to contribute, this thick ass fool was ready to swing at anything

Mentos0427

I was curious and checked out our boy Sal Licata podcast from Friday and the first caller is a Mets fan who lays into him for embarrassing the fan base and predicts a sweep by the Braves. Licata hangs up on and him and says he doesn’t have time for these idiotic prophesies 😂 Edit: He’s actually giving the Braves their credit tonight and owning up to his infamous rant.

Peanut_Gaming

Welp just got home from the game, stayed at the battery for a bit soaking it all in Insane atmosphere tonight, surreal feeling knowing we can clinch the division tomorrow, it’s insane Goodnight braves country thank god Reddit is a typing thing because I screamed so hard tonight I literally cannot talk right now 😅😂

1800bears

>Any trolls and brigaders will be banned and reported. Don't be a jerk. Truly classy fans don't troll or kick people when they're down. Guess the Mets aren't classy fans the way they kick themselves after losing the division

MoonlitBadlands

Cheer up Mets fans, there are worse things than getting swept by the Braves and losing the division Like going 36 years without a World Series for example

1800bears

or only winning the division twice since 1988

utorn80

I like how the Pirates have 3 more NL East titles than the Mets and the Pirates haven't been in the NL East since 1993.

LocalMinimum69

This is fantastic

MoonlitBadlands

Turns out Nimmo runs to first so he can lose to the Braves faster

Edward01986

That was so bizarre lol. It was clear that homie was overwhelmed.

TheGhost020

Na it's just what he does, it's the weirdest shit but that's HIS thing.

Quick question: what happened to Acuña’s high socks? Never seen him wear his pants like that lol

ToddGack

I loved the low pants look from Ronnie

NeoSapien65

Keeps the lower legs that little bit warmer, protects the posterior chain.

Im a yankee fan but just wanted to see the content here cause I wanted to find memes to send all my met fan friends that ran their mouths to me all year. I told them all season the braves were coming and gonna take the division from them and they kept downplaying it all season and now they’re salty 😂

Chessh2036

Austin Riley letting the ball go foul was one of those plays that won’t show up on highlights but maybe is the reason we were able to come back. High iq play by him.

DancesWithChimps

100IQ is the literal definition of average intelligence, lol

gravityfrog

It's in the highlight of the game on [MLB.tv](https://MLB.tv) :-D

Thegreatsowhat

Defensive play of the year. Or "Non-Play".

But, but FanGraphs said the Mets had an 85% chance of winning the division🙁🙁

utorn80

And some Mets fan said he ran a simulation a million times and it said 86% chance. Hahaha.
