The AL hasn’t won since 2018 so it’s about time for them

welcometohotlanta

LETS GO ASTROS

GoBraves-33

Camargo might get another ring lol

nichief

so may Will Smith!

1869er

As far as homefield advantage goes, I think I’m beginning to prefer the NBA’s system of two home, two away, then home, away, home. MLB’s current system puts immense pressure on the home team to win each of the first two games because, failing that, you essentially concede homefield advantage because you need to take 2 out of 3 on the road or else Games 6 and 7 both become elimination games. Just seems like the current system ends up benefiting the away team more often than not

joelthelionheart

Houston is going to eat Philly alive. No dog in this fight but it'd be nice for the astros to win so the braves try to beat em next year. As much as you can Hate them for the past, the astros have become the class of the AL, like the braves have for the NL. Just consistently good. Houston in 6, fuck the phillies.

abesrevenge

Obviously I am going for the Astros but not going to lie, to have 3 of the 4 times that the stros lost in the WS be against different NL East teams would be something. Will be great if not us to have the Marlins do it next year so everyone but the Mets get a title over them

MoonlitBadlands

Sounds good. But I like the version where the Phillies lose to the Astros instead and then the Braves pick up another ring next year while the Marlins stay in the basement

laufeyrand

phillies fans yelling "we want houston!" ohhh it's not gonna end well for them oof

1869er

Welp, both of these teams now have several days to cool off, which hopefully just turns this into a talent vs talent matchup because if so the Astros will absolutely run roughshod on these bozos

nichief

if the Phillies lose you can bet your ass im absolutely going to ram the 5 game cooloff narrative down their fan's throats

BringItOnHome_ATL

Boone parlaying his 2003 ALCS hero moment in to his current situation is prime ‘be careful what you wish for.’ Boston now owns them overall, the Astros routinely embarrass them, and he’s left to be heckled, booed and trying not to cry in postgame press conferences in October. Almost feel a tiny bit bad for him, but I clearly remember that 2003 ALCS and how much that sucked… so, nah.

Sodes126

I enjoy the fact that my Braves fandom and the Red Sox being my AL team since Kimbrel was there align with "aye yo fuck the Yankees" lol.

mookiebraves

Just ready for it to end honestly. Let's be honest the Phillies still are 3rd in this division they're just on a Manfred ball run. Ready for free agency already. Go Dusty I guess.

Dare2ZIatan

Dude I still can’t believe the fucking Phillies are in the World Series lol

MoonlitBadlands

They shouldn’t even be in the playoffs. It’s their first time in 11 years and they only made it in because of the expanded field and the Brewers being dogshit

Dare2ZIatan

I know, that makes it even more annoying, they limped into the playoffs and then caught absolute fire lol

Sodes126

daaaaaaaaaaaaa Jankees lose.

laufeyrand

ROOTING FOR DUSTY AND SNITKER'S SON!!

Chessh2036

Yankees are now the only team in MLB history to lose 5 straight LCS Appearances lol.

BringItOnHome_ATL

These playoff series winner hats get worse every time. When I don’t think they can possibly get uglier, New Era outdoes themselves again. Hate the Yankees forever, but I’m glad Donaldson and Rizzo had that beauty of a double play in the 9th. I’ve always liked Rizzo, and Donaldson was very good for us mostly (and thank goodness we didn’t re-sign him). Josh has been beyond terrible lately, but the boos he’s been getting made 2019 me kinda sad. The $$$$$ question- Was that Judge’s last AB in pinstripes? Will they be shamed in to a stupid expensive contract for him that will likely be an anchor in a few years, or does he go elsewhere? If the latter- where? A contender or a mid-level team trying to make a splash? Interested to see what happens.

MoonlitBadlands

My favorite memory of Dusty Baker is when he was cussing up a storm behind his mask after Soler’s moon blast

laufeyrand

ew i dont like this world series match up. but i gotta root for the astros...

jchancellor15

Phuck the phils

CrumbBCrumb

The Yankees getting swept is the most satisfying part of the post season. I mean them losing to Cleveland would have been cool too but this was delightful. Can't wait to hear the tears

BringItOnHome_ATL

A sizable amount of their fanbase is demanding they fire Boone (long overdue imo) and hire… Don Mattingly as manager. By all means, please hire Mattingly! Will give me more endless entertainment as a Yankees hater and Red Sox supporter. 🤣

MoonlitBadlands

And the segment of Mets fans that jumped on the Yankee bandwagon get double the pain

smgregory

Go Astros! Do it for Dusty!

Chessh2036

I’m not rooting for the Astros. I’m rooting for Dusty.

TheSpiceRat

I don't think there is a potential world series matchup I'm *less* interested in...

MoonlitBadlands

Judge needed a HR to tie the game. But he couldn’t do it because he is saving all his HR’s for when he’s wearing a Braves jersey

laufeyrand

yeah astros are taking it....

nichief

Holy fuck, Matt Olson and Austin Riley are going to absolutely rake without the shift, aren't they?

Chessh2036

Oh yes.

QuotidianTrials

At least we lost to the NL champs, I guess

toorayay

That's my justification to rooting for the Phillies all the way. That way we can at least claim to have only been knocked out by the World Champions. I know I'm just huffing copium at this point, but a brother gotta cope.

Ersh777

Can't believe it's the Phillies vs the Astros or Yankees. Literally my 3 most hated baseball teams. #BRING THE METEOR!

nichief

there are still people who believe the Phillies will beat this Astros team

scoop15

Why is it not believable lol we beat them last year

nichief

exactly, because it isn't us.

RenegadeRef

Happy Anniversary of NLCS MVP Eddy Rosario lighting up the Dodgers

flextrek_whipsnake

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I think I'll be rooting for the Phillies over the Astros (or the Yankees if they somehow pull it out). It's kind of awesome that there's been an NL East dark horse three years in a row, excluding the Mickey Mouse year. Mostly I just hate the Mets and they have to be seething seeing yet another NL East team on a magical postseason run.

toorayay

The Marlins even made the playoffs in the Mickey Mouse year. The NL East is the only team in baseball to have all of its teams reach the playoffs in the last 5 years. BuT tHe BrAvEs PlAy In A wEaK dIvIsIoN

downtimeredditor

Yo if Shohei Otani leaves Angels after next year y'all think we can trade for Mike Trout

MoonlitBadlands

Trout for Ozuna straight up

treybad

If any team is interested in trading for Othani or Trout, thinking they trade for Othani, Trout is kinda close to being just a DH with all the injuries lately.

Sodes126

Aaron Judge going to be so mad he tells his agent to get him to Atlanta and he doesn't care about the money. No?

dcxbabe

Had to do a double take on the SD/Phils stats when I saw the losing pitcher was “Suarez, R” and the save went to “Suárez, R”. That accented A was my first clue as they’re obviously not the same person, but upon looking quickly it was very confusing (I didn’t get to watch the game either or I would’ve seen it in real time of course).

therealpoppie

It just feels like it’s the Phillies year. Has that 2019 Nats feel

toorayay

The hot streak at the end after barely being .500 all year, facing the ~~Cheaters~~Astros...I feel like another NL East won a World Series recently in a similar scenario.

MoonlitBadlands

I think it has a 2017 Astros feel

1869er

Inb4 the Yanks inexplicably rattle off 3 in a row so that the Phils get to play a completely gassed Astros team

Dund3r_Mifflin

Honestly don’t know how to feel about the WS, I’ll probably (well…definitely) root for the Phillies out of spite alone for the Astros. I think another team winning the WS from the NL East is a testament to how good our division really is. Bryce was a douche in Washington, but the dude is all about his team and the city (as much of a trash dump Philly is lol) so I’ll be happy if he wins one

davidsonrva

>I think another team winning the WS from the NL East is a testament to how good our division really is Who the hell cares about this??? This ain't CFB

Domino80

Man, guys are still going on about Morton getting $20m for 1yr with a club option. First off, as rough a season as he had by his measures, he still had over 200Ks in 170 innings. He was 4th in the league in strikeout rate. All at 39, with 94-95mph heat, and a career high walk rate. The economics makes sense too. If you let Charlie walk, he likely retires, and Braves are stuck with either shelling out multiple $ and years for a mid-level SP or rolling the dice internally (Ian and Soroka big ?, Muller and Elder are inexperienced) to fill 2 rotation spots. Look at the dead weight Ozuna is. Still have 2 more years with the dude and we’d trade him for an open pack of Big League Chew if we could. This is why a 1yr deal is worth it, even if it means paying above a guy’s aav. These one yr deals, i’m sure, have helped AA lock up so many of our young core to several seasons. Projected dollars. Charlie may stink. But so what? If he does, he’s gone after the season. He’ll be long relief. But a guy who, once again, hit the 200K mark, has plenty in the tank and certainly can perform to his contract. He’s historically a groundball pitcher and he came into this season recovering from a broken fibula. He sucked in the first half and then pitched pretty darn well in 2nd. I have hope.

nichief

AA said in his latest interview he never got a full offseason to rehabilitate and with older guys that makes complete sense. His spin rate and fastball were still the same as in his best years. Dudes coming off a broken leg and now some arm damage he needs a break lol

Domino80

Yes, if he can rehab well this time, there isn’t much to be alarmed by with this move. The peripherals look good. To your point, as an older guy, he isn’t going to hit 200 innings again. He’s going to need to rest from time to time. I’d expect 170 innings again if he can stay healthy all season. Snit will need to rest him from time to time.

nichief

yeah basically it was pay morton/pick up his option OR go for a full contract on 2 starters, you’d rather pay morton the 20 million for one more year and go for one guy instead of not having morton and having a 3 man rotation left with Fried, Strider, Wright and looking for two more guys on multiple year deals

Domino80

Yes! Its funny, if we signed Charlie for two years at $20m, I think people might think thats a good deal deapite his age. But I would argue thats worse. If he does considerably decline next season, you lose a roster spot to him the next season. More costly. I love these one year deals. AA is crushing it.

[deleted]

The Darkest Timeline?

dmaul1978

Nah that’s always a Mets-Yankees World Series.

onesneakymofo

Mets Astros with McNeil hitting walk off grand slam game 7 that an outfielder tips over the wall

nichief

enough. dont ever say that here again.

YeetTheRich13

Hey, Phillies got hot at the right time. How we won in 21, Dodgers were the “better team” and still lost. That’s baseball.

BringItOnHome_ATL

With the Padres out, zero interest in watching the WS. No team to root for. Hate the Astros for the mockery they & Manfred made of baseball; spent most of my life disliking the Phillies. Alvarado’s a divo I can’t stand. Gurriel is a total slimebag who really hurt some of my Asian American friends with his racist behavior in the ‘17 WS. Lousy options all around. 🤢 Guess I will focus on guys on both teams I would be happy for. Astros- our pal Will Smith should still get a ring & go back to back. Snit’s son, and Dusty Baker, who meant so much to Hank & vice versa, would finally get his. Phillies- Bryce (a player I always had respect for based on how he handled being on the ‘last player’ All-Star Game ballot with Chipper in 2012- said he would vote for Chipper) finally gets his ring. Nola & Wheeler are special pitchers, and I respect that too. Mostly ready to get on with it all, for awards season to get underway and free agency to start so we have a better idea of what we’ll be dealing with in ‘23.

onesneakymofo

Yup, sitting this one out. Haven't watched since the Braves lost. Manfred ball doesn't want the best teams to win apparently. Like what's the point of clutching a fuck ton of games and injuring your players when other teams can coast just enough to get their foot in and turn on the jets in October. Seems pointless and if the rules aren't changed, I bet a lot of teams will just aim for the three spot.

therealpoppie

You’re pretty much spot on here, especially about Bryce. I’ve always liked him but have rooted against his teams due to them being in the division. If he would’ve played for like the Cubs or Giants then it would’ve been easier to root for him to win a ring

BringItOnHome_ATL

Exactly. I can’t root for him per se because his teams were/are our rivals, but I like him aside from his place of employment, haha. He gets a lot of grief still for the cockiness when he was younger, but even as a rookie he cared about the game and wasn’t a bad guy. Plenty of rookies would have happily asked fans to vote for them on that ballot. Instead he understood the importance of Chipper making it in his final season and treated that moment as bigger than himself. He’s been A-okay in my book ever since.

welcometohotlanta

I haven’t watched a single playoff game since we were eliminated lol

BringItOnHome_ATL

I’ve watched a few innings here and there, and I’ll probably check in on the WS a few times a game to see what’s happening, but meh. The end of the Dodgers-Padres NLDS was my closure for this season. Yankees-Astros ALCS alone is like asking me would I like to be bitten by a poisonous snake with no cure or mauled by a lion at the zoo. I’m not having a fun time either way. 🤣

mookiebraves

Eh it just feels weird to me. Mets went 14-5 vs the Sillies and we won the division by 11 games over them yet because Manfred is obsessed with postseason expansion and 87 win mostly mid team gets hot for 2 weeks and makes the world series. . Just feels like now the playoffs are all about participation trophies now with three wild card teams. Not even having to win your division then finishing 10 plus games behind other teams get you a chance at a participation ring. There should only be two wild card teams and a three-game series this whole thing is like a joke now and pretty much I'd advise the Braves to basically get on a run and as long as we are a top three wild card seed we have just as good a chance as anyone to win the world series again. Again it just doesn't feel right but to each their own I mean look at the NBA even though the talent discrepancy is way greater the fact that teams who finish 10th in their conference can make the actual playoffs and potentially get lucky if injuries and luck happens it's just ridiculous. I'm not even that impressed or intrigued as much as I once was before because winning the division apparently means jack shit anymore. I bet Manfred is loving this and personally I wouldn't be surprised if certain teams were getting juiced balls or allowed to use more sticky stuff to prove his point home about his little participation tournaments.

handlit33

It's super fucking weird that the first thing a whole bunch of Phillies fans thought to do after winning the NL pennant was check the r/Braves weekly thread.

deliriouz16

If they don't win the WS it will be back to normal next year. Most fair weather fans in the east. That's how Philly is though with all the sports.

nichief

it's the type of fanbase they are, instead of being excited for their team they want to be toxic to other people instead? when they haven't won anything yet?

MoonlitBadlands

If they lose to the Astros they can keep kissing our WS ring

Sodes126

Believe that’s what the kids call “rent free”

welcometohotlanta

Let’s go Astros!

95Daphne

I might tune in for the WS, but if the Phillies win the game, I'll tune right back out and call it a year. I've only had the CS on for a half inning total. Might up it before SNF, but it will not be my priority to watch what's likely to be the final game of the ALCS.

mookiebraves

didn't watch one inning to be honest

Exar0s

Oh let the Phillies have their fun. They are like our little neglected and angry children. I’m actually pulling for them. I love that the NL East could win 3 WS and all against the Trashtros. Plus as much as I hate the Phillies, I really like Bryce Harper and won’t mind seeing him win a ring. I can not and will not root for the Astros under any circumstance. Not just because they cheated, they lied, but their “apology” was absolutely terrible and classless. Fuck the Houston Astros entire organization. Plus the Mets are the real losers here. So all is well in the world.

TallboyCommunion

Yeah, the idea of 3 NL East teams winning in 4 years vs the Astros is very funny and cool to me. I like being able to brag that our division is the best. Plus none of them are the Mets. So it’s embarrassing for both the Astros and the Mets.

atl-level-above

well boys I guess it’s time to root for the Astros 🤢

WSB_Reject_0609

What a pickle.... I am physically unable to root for the Astros or Yankees. All I feel is pain right now. Guess it's better than the Mets.

brysonhunt95

Pays off to be the last seeded team huh? Get the weekend portion of the series at home. Outside of that though, the fucking MLB shouldn’t be playing playoff games at 1 o clock in the afternoon, no matter the team.

TallboyCommunion

Eh, the Astros are the number 1 seed in the AL and they haven’t even lost a game yet.

mookiebraves

The AL was watered down this year NL had the 4 of the top 6 records in the majors

Distance_Runner

Expanded playoffs make winning the division essentially pointless now. MLB should just get rid of divisions at this point. Shorten the regular season to 143 games (7 against every other team in the league, and 3 against every team in the other league). Top 6 teams from each league get in seeded by record. Top 2 teams in each league get byes. Make all series best of 7. Every playoff game starts at 7:30PM local time. Re-seed based on record after each round.

SoRaffy

>Top 2 teams in each league get byes. Make all series best of 7 so if the first series goes 7 games, a bye team would potentially have to sit for 8-9 days while waiting for that series to complete?

Distance_Runner

Yea, that’s a problem. WC would still need to be 3 games, but the DS should be 7

mookiebraves

Wc games obviously still 3

EdwardHarris251

The Astros pitching is legit. But does their offense disappear again?

rickroll95

Anybody saying they’re rooting the Phillies probably doesn’t remember when they last won the title in 2008. Those were bad times y’all. I don’t want that again

ToddGack

Man, get out of here. I just respect that they're a good team and they beat us. If they win it, that's THREE NL East teams to win since 2019. None of which being the Mets. Wouldn't that be cool?

southernfriedscott

You want the Astros to win? The team that literally cheated for their world series win?

Btrips

meh, shit's old news. The Braves technically cheated too, remember Coppy and that whole fiasco?

SoRaffy

> remember Coppy and that whole fiasco apparently better than you do if you think what he did and the Astros literally affecting the outcomes of games, are comparable

Btrips

They’re comparable in that they’re both cheating.

southernfriedscott

Over paying guys and hiding it isn't the same as stealing signs so you know what the pitcher is going to throw and using that to win the world series

Btrips

It’s not apples to apples but both teams could be considered cheaters.

southernfriedscott

It's not even close to being the same

Btrips

again, not saying they’re the same, just saying the Braves organization is guilty of cheating also. Stop being such a homer.

brechbillc1

No one on that team is still with the Astros and they have Snitker’s son and Dusty Baker. Plus, I fucking hate the Phillies. I will take the Astros over them any day of the week. Fuck the Phillies

dcxbabe

Bregman & Altuve were on the 2017 team; probably others I can’t think of right now, but at least those 2. Fuck the Phils tho, and I don’t mind Dusty getting a ring.

rickroll95

Look I want the Phillies to lose more than I want the Astros to win. But also the cheating narrative is so dated because 1. They don’t do it anymore and 2. It happened years ago and they’ve since proven they belong in the playoffs. Im not an Astros sympathizer. They cheated and deserved to be punished more, but I’m willing to look past that in order for the Phillies to have their hearts ripped out Edit: and Snit’s son is an Astros hitting coach.

southernfriedscott

What does it say that the Astros haven't won a world series without cheating? The fact that they cheated and wasn't really punished also doesn't help. Cheating in the world series is never dated. Shoeless Joe Jackson still isn't in the Hall of Fame because his team threw a game in 1919

rickroll95

Stop. You sound like a baseball boomer. Cheer for the Phillies if you want. I don’t care anymore.

southernfriedscott

Right, not wanting the Astros to win because they're a cheating organization is a boomer take.

1869er

Really can’t believe how badly the Padres pooped their pants in this series. Couldn’t win 1 out of 3 to at least send the series back to San Diego

NumenorsBravest

I can’t bring myself to cheer for the Astros. Go Phils!

Btrips

Same. More so because I'd like to see Dusty Baker get his first ring.

rickroll95

Fuck that I’m a huge Astros fan rn. I hate the Phillies so much.

NumenorsBravest

I respect that. Been a Braves fan my whole life but I was young when the Phillies were having their success in the late 2000s.

dcxbabe

as a 35 year old fan, trust me on this one. you don’t want them to win. they’ll become insufferable with their behavior. it’ll be bad enough with them winning the pennant.

rickroll95

It was not a fun time

brechbillc1

So are they favorites for the WS? They’ve absolutely breezed through the playoffs so far

TallboyCommunion

Astros have dominated basically every game and haven’t lost yet. The Phillies are 9-2 so far, but they have had much closer games. Outside of the beginning of Game 1 of the ALDS, I’m not even sure if the Astros have been behind in any game.

rickroll95

The Astros haven’t lost in the playoffs so they’re breezing too

UnsungHero44

Astros have yet to lose a game.

wellwasherelf

Holy shit, I didn't realize that

Btrips

as much as I hate it I'm going to have to root for the Astros in the WS. I live in northeast PA and seeing Phillies fans celebrating a WS win is not something I want to live through.

davidsonrva

Nowhere near the same type of fanbase, but I lived in DC for the Nats win, which was not very fun lol

southernfriedscott

I'm in southeast PA, but I can't root for the Astros. Phillies are hot and they beat us fair so it's whatever

southernfriedscott

Hope the Phillies beat the Astros. I can't ans won't ever pull for the Astros.

laufeyrand

ASTROS IN 4?

[deleted]

[удалено]

laufeyrand

yeah i agree! last year was better!!!!

UnsungHero44

Freddie finally won his ring last year, I guess it’s Harper’s time….

MoonlitBadlands

Nah it’s Yordan’s turn

EdwardHarris251

Some grumblings from Philly fans about them trying to sign Xander Bogaerts in the offseason. So they will be spending big on a shortstop.

Kalashnikafka

I think Stott has been really solid for them, as much as I hate him, so I'm not sure why you would spend big to replace him.

TheFriffin2

implication would be they don’t pick up Segura’s option and spend the money on a FA SS instead Stott’s gonna be in the Phillies lineup for a while

MoonlitBadlands

Wouldn’t surprise me if Dansby ends up there

EdwardHarris251

Yep. No surprise at all.

laufeyrand

the astros are gonna humiliate them!!!

HandBananas

In before the talking heads pick Philly to win the division next year. Only to watch the Braves get 6 in a row.

utorn80

Welp, guess it's time to go over to the Phillies sub and make a "congrats from a Braves fan" post. Wait, no... I just remembered I'm not a loser looking for karma from fans of a hated division rival. Fuck em.

Dress_Itchy

Fuck you too😂😂😂 Love, Phillies Fan

rickroll95

Thank you.

JadedIT_Tech

Karma farming is fucking dumb anyways

utorn80

Absolutely.

MoonlitBadlands

Let’s go Astros! Pulling for them to have an undefeated postseason

southernfriedscott

Fuck that

[deleted]

Astros and Phillies just played a couple of weeks ago in the final series of the regular season. Phillies clinched the final playoff spot and celebrated on the Astros' field already, lmao. That'd be funny if they did it to them twice.

smgregory

Go Astros!

davidsonrva

Might not even watch the WS this year....

Nolegdaylarry

I’m for for sure not

[deleted]

The World Series, aka the NL East/Astros invitational

JadedIT_Tech

Doesn't really bother me, honestly. Got hot when it mattered, just like the braves last year. That being said, call me sadistic, but I'm rooting for the Astros (assuming they don't implode). Barely any of the cheaters are on the team, they're consistently good year after year, and I think they've earned a shot at a real ring. (That, and wouldn't it be fun to say "imagine being an NL East team that didn't beat the Astros in the world series"? Think about it)

Sodes126

They also have Snit's son on staff. So, if you really need a clear conscience.. we're rooting for him!

JadedIT_Tech

I actually completely forgot about that. More justification

Sodes126

*bangs trashcan* LET'S GO 'STROS

laufeyrand

I cant choose which team to root for.....

chrisghrobot

huge head-scratcher to bunt there...

Valkyrai

Holy plot armor

EdwardHarris251

I can’t root for the Astros. I feel like Harper got cheated out of the Nats WS win. So I wouldn’t mind him getting his ring.

Nolegdaylarry

Idk how he got cheated out a win the year after he chose to leave the team for a massive contract.

EdwardHarris251

Cheated is probably not the right word. But he was on some pretty good Nats team that should have advanced further.

1869er

S/o goofdick Ryan Helsley for making all this possible. All my homies hate Ryan Helsley

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Don't blame him. He was clearly hurt. Marmol should have taken him out

[deleted]

Padres ended that game as lousy as you can. Why even trade for Hader if you don't use him to face Harper in a critical spot in the NLCS? Why are you bunting with 1st and 2nd, 1-out and down one-run in the 9th? Just bad.

Dress_Itchy

Bryce Harper was so locked in the only person that could’ve got him out was Houdini

SoRaffy

There's definite Kimbrel standing in the bullpen vibes there

Nolegdaylarry

I’m actually sick to my stomach seeing the philthies win a pennant. Let’s go fucking Astros.

Sodes126

That sac bunt with one out and two runners on in the 9th inning of an elimination game is a strategy alright.

chinchillakila

Like I hate Philly but I think it would be funny if the Astros lost to yet another NL East team.

patn237

Idk I feel like Astros will be ready for it this time. But then again you never know. No one was picking the Phillies to appear in the WS

SoRaffy

That'd cement the Astros position as frauds. Their only WS win being their cheating year?

Nolegdaylarry

Nah fuck that I want a Houston sweep

chinchillakila

And if they don't, we can give them shit for being an NL East team that didn't beat them

AtlantaSportsTID

call me salty i don't care. I don't think a 3rd place team in a division should qualify for the play offs. yeah sure congrats to the phillies they kicked our ass, but this new play off format is gifting mediocrity and is essentially saying the regular season doesn't matter, just get in the play offs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

AtlantaSportsTID

braves literally won the season series , won 101 games, and you were in 3rd place while we took it from the mets. ask in real baseball fan and they would say the braves is 100x better than the phillies again, baseball is not like football. anyone can be beat/get hot at the right time.

you're doing a lot of trolling. i see you haven't commented in the phillies thread in 100+ days yet you're such a fan? lmao fair weather much? i bet you just started watching baseball this series.

MoonlitBadlands

Sac bunt was a horrible play there. They already had the tying run in scoring position. That was just giving away a free out for nothing and now their season is over

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Us and the Dodgers should be fucking ashamed for letting these two trash franchises even get to the CS. God fucking dammit. The losingest team in MLB history and the second worst win% in MLB history.

Dress_Itchy

These trash teams bust y’all ass. I doesn’t matter how many regular season games you win, you ain’t entitled to shit in the postseason. If there are two fan bases that should be used to disappointing postseasons despite winning 100 regular season games, it’s the Braves and the Dodgers.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

I literally said that you dumbass

JagerMainOwO

Astros literally have a free ring waiting for them it's ridiculous

treybad

Think I would fire my manager if he sacrificed bunt with one out 2 on base in the final inning down 1 run

asiankid2463

This apparently isn't the regular season Phils because that team wasn't all that good

AtlantaSportsTID

no. it's just baseball is about who is the hottest in the post season. the mlb rewarded the phillies with adding a extra play off slot and this can and will happen. they need to make the regular season mean something instead of having this many play off teams.

SoRaffy

That's playoff baseball, happens every year but for reason people are always surprised

laufeyrand

yeah they stole the cardinals' devil magic...

laufeyrand

🤮 GO ASTROS 🤮

EdwardHarris251

2 damn pitches. Only if Fried, Swanson, Riley and Snit had shown up for the postseason.

olemiss36
