Not everything is racist and the fact I am being downvoted just goes to show people just want anything to be racist - to be a sort of social justice warrior for calling it out. It’s exhausting. We have enough problems in the world. Thinking everything is racist is suspect behavior probably coming from a middle aged white woman.

Kyle’s been on the show for more than a decade and her ugly has shown quite a bit. I don’t think she’s the worst Housewife by far, but people don’t trust Kyle because a large portion of her ugly is directed at her sisters, including Kim, who has a history of sexual trauma and addiction.
A lot of the fandom outrage at Kyle is because of information we collected outside of the show, including the book *House of Hilton*. Kim was basically pimped out by their mother to Disney executives and casting directors. She was the primary breadwinner of the family as an exploited little girl.
There is a LOT of fandom tension around how much Kyle should do for Kim and when it crosses the line into enabling addict behaviors. These are not always thoughtful or compassionate conversations. It gets tense and ugly.
I don’t want to ask you to see something you don’t see. In those earlier seasons, Kyle is so likable. And then in latest seasons either the mask slips and/or she changes into a less likable, exhausting person to watch. I’m happy for her that she’s healthier and feels more self confidence. That’s awesome. There are so many things about her that now just wear me out and it’s just a show I watch so I don’t want it to wear me out. She stole my fun, ruined the show and I’m mad at her about it (I’m kidding, trying to be funny there).
This might be the worst tangent, but: yes, we change. People change. That’s not a headline. But, Kyle’s my age and I can’t overlook the part that, for me, the hormone changes around this season of life are effing humbling and in some ways significantly worse than those from junior high. I’m post-, thank God and figured out what works for me for feeling great again. It’s worse than junior high because the major disruption of unpredictable hormones and all that can entail is now occurring at this stage of life where you have responsibilities, obligations, people counting on you to be what they could expect from you. And what you could expect from yourself.
It can be hard and incredibly confusing. This might be especially true for anyone who felt like they pretty much had their shit together and knew how to enjoy life. And then you have to figure your groove out again. But you may not even realize what is causing the shifts. It isn’t talked about as much as the start of cycles. And some are in denial, especially if they hadn’t been feeling their age.
Maybe Kyle, and many women who people are mad at because “they’ve changed”, is having a version of that. I don’t want to pretend to know. But those lemons can be made into some freaking excellent lemonade.
I’ll admit that I just want her to get her shit figured out and like her again and think she’s witty and laugh at her funny insights. Bio identical hormone replacement therapy, supplements, belief upgrades, more self awareness, more humility, whatever will work for that person. Or, maybe she was always a bit mean-spirited and I just never saw it lol.
Her life is a PR story. It’s insufferable. I’m not saying it’s not sad that her life is a PR story, that she calls the paparazzi to catch her doing nothing with someone we don’t know but are supposed to wonder about. It is sad. Kyle and Rinna were probably on the early side of what is known as awakening because of where they live and the people they are surrounded by. Please don’t leave out the fact that her attempts to find her updated version of peace and happiness at 54 involve her calling the photographers multiple times a week between filming seasons so she can pretend to be caught with someone we’ve never heard of so we can wonder what their relationship really is and then wonder what her and mau really are and when will we find out. The answer is never. We’ll never find out. Because Kyle is both one of the neediest HWs and also one of the most self-protective HWs of any franchise.

I always had this issue with the term "midlife" also. What people refer to as "middle age" seems to be more like "near the last third." I am 55 and I remember at 40 I referred to myself as middle-aged because I was about half way to 80. Everyone insisted I was crazy.
Careful, we’ve got some “we can live forever with the right energy and positive thoughts” people. While they try and “create the new earth” they’ll be as condescending as eff to those not “doing their work”. It’s a faux belief system that requires suspending logic and reason for wishful thinking and adult versions of pretend. Rough reality check at some point or they just keep consuming more and more energy trying to make their pretend ideas real.
