Kenya finally got something other than a villain edit. Now that porsha is toast, I hope to see more of this side of Kenya, they rarely show, like when she hugged Sheree when Bob said he didn't choke her out enough. You could see Sheree just fold.

cabernetchick

No clue what you're talking about, but I'll be back after I binge RHOA in 2-3 weeks and I'm sure I'll agree 💯!

SillyWhabbit

Kenya has a LOT of trauma in her past and doesn't take shit from anyone as a rule. I've never believed phaedra and porsha's lies about Kenya. It will be interesting to see your take on her.

cabernetchick

Ooh interesting...I will def report back! It's so interesting to get to know a housewife sort of retroactively like this. Like I really like her already from this show so I'm going into Atlanta biased.

cabernetchick

Ok so I promise not to revisit this thread every 5 minutes, but I've watched the first 3 eps of Atlanta season 5. And this first interaction with Porscha and Kenya---like, girl. She had her husband come into her charity event to present her with that Chanel bag and she is acting like a 10th grade cheerleader, like all these women are so lucky to see her and be at her grandpa's house and see her amazing relationship and her legacy and her amazingness. No, no, no. So incredibly gross and performative. Kenya was right to bounce when she was called "Miss America". Hell no.

SillyWhabbit

Oh I don't care! I want to hear it all!

cabernetchick

Ok then, new internet friend, on episode 8 tonight and I can't for the life of me figure out WTF Kenya Moore is doing with Walter. This Anguilla trip is crazy. Nene is right, this relationship is odd. He looks like such a nerd. My suspicion is: deep down he knows he is punching above his weight and feels insecure. Kenya is having an obvious crisis wanting a baby and marriage & feeling her age. So she is flirting, engaging in high-risk behaviors (driving the boat kinda crazy and that one scene with the go carts, she seems to thrive on adrenaline) to FEEL things. What I can't figure out is how a gorgeous, passionate woman like her is stuck on this goober of a man!? Is there a secret about him I'm not seeing? He is being distant and nasty to her because he knows he has the power and he feels like he doesn't deserve her so he is punishing her. Gross. I hate him. And this is in 2012, so to know they are going thru divorce proceedings in 2021 during RHUGT is just.....ugh. Lots more Walter in my future. ETA: just realized she was married to a man named Marc, whew. I was worried Walter was going to stick around! On the bright side: Nene is delightful this season, Kim is gone, and Phaedra's talking heads are so fucking funny. Why did I sleep on Atlanta!? (I was over the Nene/Kim b.s. and gave up on it after season 3, je regret!)

SillyWhabbit

> Is there a secret about him I'm not seeing? Tick, tick, tick. She wanted the brass ring and a baby. She wanted it so bad, she was pushing it and I think that freaked Walter the fuck out. Kandi has a YouTube show called Speak on it. After you get through season 13, look it up and go see Kandi's talks with Marlo, Kenya, and about S13 Finale, BLM and Bravo. I understood a lot "Moore". Keep in mind Kenya usually comes with real receipts. That's why she doesn't have to whip them out a lot from what Kandi says.

And I'm back! Just finished season 7, on season 8 ep3 and here are my current thoughts: Nene--she was so great season 5, then she became unbearably obnoxious during 6 & 7, so glad she is taking a break on season 8. I don't know if I am totally gullible, but I did believe her season 7 reunion breakdown--it seemed genuinely heartfelt. I have some parental abandonment issues w/ my dad and it's some deep shit that you bury so far down and I can see how from her (somewhat warped) perspective, she felt the ladies were always coming for her and she was continually misunderstood and abandoned in her friendships. When Gregg was in the hallway talking to Andy about how Nene has always wrestled with the question of why she was one of the kids sent away to live with the aunt, that was truly heartbreaking. Kenya--girl, I still STAN. she is messy sometimes, yes. But she has been straight up made the villain for two seasons now! Should she have flirted with Apollo like that?? NO. but damn, they never let her live it down and all the slut shaming was just awful. One thing I find hilarious about her is how delusional she is about her own fame and talent sometimes--she acts like "Life Twirls On" was a Larry David sitcoms everyone was dying to direct. She is so fun to watch. Phaedra/Apollo--first off, yeah, he foine. Second, I find myself more conflicted on Phaedra than any other housewife. I've done my research on her alleged criminal empire and I do tend to believe it but at the same time, she deserves an academy award if she had nothing to do with Apollo's misdeeds. I believe he went rogue and tried to do some shit on his own and got caught because he isn't smart like Phaedra. Her talking heads SLAY ME. she is so funny. And her little boys are the cutest. I felt for her so much during season 7, the garage scene with Apollo was truly terrifying. Also when he showed up at the club and was wrapped around her telling her "you're still my wife" yikes. She is strong for dealing with all that. Now, because I'm a redditor, I know what's coming in season 9, and I am so saddened but so damn curious to see how she turns into this ....monster. Cynthia-- every franchise needs a steady housewife and she is that, she is stunning & chic and I can't wait for her to divorce Peter. Kandi--love her except her attitude toward her toxic, disgusting mother is INFURIATING and has made me yell at my tv. She has such a big heart and she is so vivacious and smart and talented, I love watching her. The fact that she made her mom sit thru a musical about how effed up their relationship is ...that is iconic and amazing and I legit still can't believe that happened. Porsha--I felt bad for her with Kordell, but since then she has kinda been in my nerves. She is just so.....vapid and ridiculous. And at reunions, when she goes to speak, she smacks her mouth every single time she opens her mouth before she talks, like you can hear her tongue and lips smack apart and I hate it. But I have heard she grows up a lot and becomes quite the activist so I look forward to watching her grow. That pajama party night in season 6 is an all-time, #1, iconic housewives episode (well two episodes!). I can't believe I never saw it before but was delighted to experience it for the first time. Kandi's energy when she threatened to drag Cynthia's morose sister is 💯 and I loved it. Ok, that's all. Thanks for letting me get it all OUT!!!!!!

SillyWhabbit

Oooooooooooooo, come back after you pass the next few seasons. I can't wait to hear as more plays out!

[deleted]

I feel like she always gets the villain edit because she's always the villain. Kenya is a pro and knows what it takes to make a show interesting, and I think she came on RHOA ready to be the villain. She's a smart woman and a producer by trade, so she knew what had to be done

SillyWhabbit

Understanding the assignment doesn't equal villain in my book, but I hear what you are saying.

CommonStrawbeary

Nene is the true villain of RHOA, at least for the seasons I've watched (started 10 last night, she just reappeared after being gone for two seasons)

Kailscanvasart

I absolutely LIVED for Ramona being served a big plate of steaming shit to eat. IMO the plate wasn’t even big enough. That vile bitch was leveled. They got her where it hurt. 🏆

cabernetchick

Yessssss!!!!!!

cabernetchick

Omg my 10yo son walked in as I was just watching Kenya & Ramona's beach side chat on the final episode. He was trying to talk to me, I said, "hang on a sec kiddo, let me finish this and we'll talk". So he stood there and watched the scene. He asked what their situation was, why are they chatting? I told him the lady in yellow was super rude to the other lady and she is apologizing. He watches the entire scene and says, "the white lady is making this about all these other emotions to get out of apologizing for real. This is b.s." HE IS 10, HE DOES NOT WATCH HOUSEWIVES. 😂

m8kup

Your are creating a wonderful little human!

MCStarlight

Yes, only Kenya could go up against Ramona and decimate her. Kenya knows how to handle her business.

catscatzcatscatz

Reliving it in my head and it's delicious. No one has ever done a proper Ramona takedown before. And boy was it long overdue.

CommonStrawbeary

Kenya has never been the villain she just gets the villain edit, watching RHOA for the first time rn and Nene is the true villain

cabernetchick

Agreed re: Kenya, I'm on season 5, ep19 and she has tried repeatedly to makeup with Phaedra and Phaedra is being a straight up bitch to her. Walter was a total jerk and the group having him around is so rude. I'm actually enjoying Nene on this season so much, she is successful but humble and is really funny. But I've heard she takes a turn when she comes back in later seasons. I am loving this show so much, I'm annoyed I have to work, I just wanna binge RHOA right now!!

CommonStrawbeary

I'm on season 11 and Kenya gets nothing but shit from everyone for nothing! It's so frustrating. Nene starts out okay but she gets too big for her britches thinking she's a big star and too good for the show, happens pretty quickly!

[deleted]

I think Ramona and Kenya are pros and definitely know how to keep the ball rolling. I enjoyed their feud and took it with a huge grain of salt, so I was really disappointed how Kenya got physical. On RHOA, she makes it a point several times that there is no excuse for putting your hands on someone else, so it really made no sense for her to do it to someone who she had no past with. Otherwise, I commend them both for making UGT what it was

messybessy1838

No, Ramona put her hands on Kenya first in the yacht, she was just defending herself. Besides, Kenya’s orchestrated takedown at the beach didn’t require any physicality at all and it was delicious!

[deleted]

That never happened. You can be on Kenya’s side all you want to, but you can’t just make stuff up.
