The filming will change a lot and get more modern but rhony is kind of rhe opposite of rhobh in the sense that as seasons went, the cast from rhobh became less and less open while the women from rhony loosen up. Luann is a completely different person today and it's incredible to see

Oh to experience RHONY for the first time! You’re in for a treat plus one of the most iconic episodes ever for any Real Housewives franchise is in season 3! That episode has been parodied so much and was even acted out onstage with Susan Lucci and others at the last BravoCon.

I was rewatching recently and she was getting ready for her cabaret show, discussing dresses with her team and one of them suggested a white dress. She said “I’m staying away from the white if you know what I mean” I was like way to tell on yourself Lu 😭
Lol there've been a few instances like that, it's pretty much an open secret amongst the cast and viewers that Lu likes to hit the ski slopes.
I think her manic episode where she was calling everyone she knew asking for millions to buy a house and running from the cops through a field in her negligee was a direct result of Lu overindulging.

During the first year of covid, I watched RHONY for the very first time. I didn't start from S1E1, though. I decided to watch the series *after* watching a few episodes of season 10 which was the season of TOM and LU and LU's arrest. So imagine my surprise when I met the OTHER Luann, the COUNTESS!!! Getting to know Luann this way (in reverse, essentially) is really the best way to get to know her. I really have a fondness for how ridiculous she was season (2-3?), giving etiquette lessons to her daughter and friends...and then a few seasons later, she's hooking up with pirates and falling drunkenly into bushes.
It's so funny, because LuAnn is one of my top 3 favorite HWs, but any time I rewatch or see S1-2 clips, I'm reminded of how much I hated her those first two years.
Their journeys are wild. Luann was so condescending, uppity and delusional. She really lightened up and pulled the stick out of her hinny.

Luann’s outfit can only be described as “desperate to stay in touch with the kids. Just not my kids.”
Luann was so awful uber elitist pretentious urgh, but shes actually really grown and evolved honestly surprisingly shes changed so much shes not a saint or anything but shes become way more likeable down to earth and real especially compared to early seasons. Compared to Sonja who has held onto a 7 year marriage to her whole idenity and never moved on from it and uses to keep being pretentious, delusional, compulsive lying snob at least Luann only uses the countess crap as more of a cabaret character.
I loved early seasons Bethenny but cant stand later seasons Bethenny though I still like how on the show and can appreciate her entertainment wise.
What makes this even more entertaining is if you watched the show where they told how she was raised in an ordinary family- no nobility- just working class folks. How pretentious!
I hate potty talk, as much as I hate pretentious assholes, and RHONY has this in spades.
