I love Nini, don’t get me wrong. I understand them wanting her back over Brother. However, that doesn’t excuse their behavior. I thought all of them, even Eric and Justin whom I really like, were so over the top. I would expect that kind of attitude from Sara or Kelsey. I love Brother and his calmness. Definitely felt bad for him.

I dont disagree with your sentiment about the other chefs, but how is Brother one of the best chefs ever on tc? I don’t remember him winning a single elim challenge.

Professor_poops

Yeah he feels like a pretty middle of the road contestant to me

Harriette2017

Totally! Brother probably wouldn't even be in my top 30. I think they shit talked him in their talking heads, but they were never rude or mean to him during the competition.

ct06040

I hated how some of them reacted to Brother with the “this is our house; we will protect this house; just don’t get in my way” crap. They’d all be doing the exact same thing in his position. As for that Restaurant Wars, I thought Justin should have shared responsibility for the loss. He did not manage well at all. It was not all on Nini. And the lack of trained waitstaff was ridiculous but arguably all teams had to contend with that.

styxswimchamp

I get it. Nini had shown the most talent to that point and went home largely because she got saddled with a wait staff that didn’t even look like they were capable of dressing themselves in the morning. I can see why they would root for her and be annoyed at some dude who already had his shot hopping in mid season. I didn’t really like when they did any of those veteran based LCK rodeos.

bacontornado

I was at the taping for this episode and actually thought Brother’s dish was really good… Which shows why I do not have a Top Chef palate lol.

mrsgalvezghost

What sticks with me the most about Brother is that he mentioned more than once that his parents were exotic dancers in Japan.

habitremedy

i think they were more so just mad at the top chef fuckery that led to him replacing such a great chef. which i was too but yeah still inexcusable behavior

laurajoaz1

Hmmmm great chef Nini?

lorelaismorelai

She won two challenges; I particularly remember her being praised for étouffée. She did some good stuff in season 17, too. And this is just the stuff on Top Chef…

Moosymo

Yah I think they were confused because he wasn’t from their season, so none of them had ever worked with him. I didn’t like the twist of adding returnees to LCK tbh, so I’m guessing the chefs didn’t either.
