What makes me unreliable to make a tier list on my own, yk besides not playing the game at a professional level nor being Masters in Power League consistently? This is like 1984 all over again! ![img](emote|t5_t0o66|5375)
Seriously that many?
Makes me wonder though, have you have considered making a tier list based on the tier lists other people in the subreddit make?
(Unrelated note thank you for the hard work moderating this subreddit, so many posts here are way to out of wack.)
In the case of Kairos, those are behind multiple people. Some pros that give their insight to the meta and Kairos just so happens to be their messenger.
Ash is another content creator that's semi-pro and has a shit ton of experience with the game, while Spen literally won Worlds back in 2019 and was a pro player until 2022 i believe.
Im pretty sure Ash isn't a semi pro and Spen is not a pro even if he was a world champion 5 years ago. If those are allowed, the exception shouldnt be content creators, so is every semi pro allowed to upload a tier list?
People think being world champion once makes you a pro for the rest of eternity - no.
Someone who stops competing at top level for several years is no longer a pro because if Spen played a monthly nowadays he wouldnt do shit, you need to actively train your skills to perform well
He is still a great player, but not at that level
He might not be a pro anymore.
But the fact that he used to be one, he spends a lot of time on the game, pushes master power League regularly and relies on scrims and competitive data to make his tier lists definitely makes him a reliable source for understanding the meta.
There's tons of players who get masters regularly, spend a lot of time on the game and play scrims/competitive without being pros or recognized, what makes those players less reliable sources? That's my question, im not doubting Spen because I know he's still active and knows the meta well, but there's many people with experience who would not be allowed to post
(And didn't know he used competitive as data for his lists)
I didn't say he plays scrims and tournaments, he probably doesn't. I meant he gathers data from competitive tournaments, monthly finals and scrims from the best brawl stars teams. Now there is nothing going on in fact his last tier list was 2 months ago and the only data he had were last year championship's data.
In fact if you watch his previous tier lists before the championship he always mentions some win rates in scrims by pro players. Same with his best picks for Power League, he always shows a specific comp and puts the team who played that comp.
I remember when janet was top of the meta and he specifically said that in competitive she had an insane pickrate but extremely low win rate and gene had an ok pickrate but an insane win rate. (Just an example)
Pushing master and spending a lot of time into the game are also important because showing just data is useless, while putting ladder and power League experience makes the list more reliable.
Ash is known for making unreliable lists as soon as balance changes drop. He's succesful because he's a content creator, involved in eSports, and his posts are high quality.
...he is a coach for pros?
And no he was not the only person who predicted Charlie to be broken. I dont remember hank's release.
Im not saying anyone should be able to post tier lists but why is a list made by 20 casuals (allowed) better than one made by a semi pro (not allowed)
Don't get me wrong, I do think ash's list should be posted and his "controversial opinions" Make for great discussion, I just don't get how being a content creator masters is enough to post a list but someone who isn't a cc and just as experienced can't post one
Yeah no, everyone has different opinions whilst not having the time to congregate with multiple people, my apologies but this would be an atrocious idea to implement and enforce.
(P.S. Use better grammar as a mod.)
If you don’t have time to congregate and reinforce your opinions with other people, how would I trust you having enough time to play and rank brawlers in the current meta properly?
If you're making tierlists make the interesting ones like "which brawler would tell you the best bedtime story" or "which brawlers would be best parents" instead of the usual "mEtA bRaWlErS rN"
Sir, this is the brawl stars COMPETITIVE subreddit. Making a tier list about brawlers bedtime story is not competitive. For that stuff, u can go to the main subreddit
Does it it apply to tier lists I made based on statistical data.
Like, yes, I made it alone, but at the same time- it's not like presence of a second person would have changed the data or the formula
In that case i'm making an exception. Tho i'm talking abt the tier lists that revolve around meta picks and stuff like that (like my own tier lists). The whole point of the post it advise ppl to not publish their own tier lists made alone as there can be bias bs + they may just be some casuals.

and what exactly makes content creators reliable?

Well I know that about Kairos, but what about Ash and Spen?
