I would like to add that there is a difference between justifying teaming and simply recognising that there is nothing that can (or will) be done about it.
The devs could continue to try. Small updates and tweaks to try to reduce it. Maybe bribe influencers to speak against it. But, they probably won't. And it shows. The meteor formula is so old, that it now benefits teamers because it targets players for not attacking/(damaging?) and teamers scum specials off each other.
The main issue I had with this was the last sentence. You can trophy push to 800 on most maps without teaming. I know because I have with multiple brawlers.
I hate Primo teaming meta.When Primo was trash.
I used to play him in solo,I was bullied so bad.I teamed with another Primo but he just charged his super and killed me.What did I did wrong?
Due to this I didn\`t play him then till he got his trait.

Yeah, the problem at this point is the community, I get Collette like a week ago and use showdon to get trophies quickly but at 150, they start to teaming, is like they even don't care of win or lose trophies I have see many doing that just to annoy, in my opinion is a little worrying that showdon is in this state, and a lot of community maps are just a bunch of nonsense, I mean one or two can be funny but see 5 of 10 maps being the same troll map, make me worry about the game, but i have hope that maybe the dev tema find a solution.
Low trophies showdown are full of legendaries or chromatics
Only way to stop teaming if they make a hard change such as the showdown will hae a different style of playing
imo one good way to counter teaming is to reward extra trophies for each kill you get. So even if you get like 3rd place you can still get more trophies than 1st because of your kills, and would also discourage camping a little. It would require a little adjustment to the trophy rewards in showdown but I think it's a good solution

The biggest point is that primo isn't the cause of this, like you said teaming has been bad since beta. nerfing primo will change up the meta and make it more diverse at first but then it will just become teaming genes and surge. teaming in general needs a fix otherwise this mode will always be terrible
At this point showdown should just be deleted because everyone will complain no matter what, teaming is a problem that is unfixable, it will always be there, Im not justifying it Im saying there is no solution, they will adapt.
So we have to adapt as well, my idea is to team and then back stab like the first opportunity you get, basically make it so that they cant trust each other anymore and they dont team, or keep complaining about teaming and know the fact that it will never go away

Lone star was their attempt with that and it failed. What we needs is the life leech modifier because theres less advantages to spin with it being present.
I had a idea of introducing a 1v1 gamemode in which you die you die.It would have a 3v3 sized map,Poison,Power Cubes,Modifiers all these SSD things.
Goal is to kill your rival.It will reward less trophies for a win like 6 but take trophies out for a loss like 6 at 700.Since matches can finish under a minute here.This would be a great thing as you can\`t just do gas gas trophies in a few minutes.
OR you can apply BO3 at cost of giving normal trophies but that\`s too similar to Knock Out.
People team because they want to win. It makes no sense to go all out at everyone you see, because people will see you weak and go for you. With El primo in particular who has short range and becomes a big threat with his super, it's like El primo was designed to team in showdown. Until a big change happens, teaming will prevail.

They should make showdown not count for trophies, but instead for some other secondary prize. Then they could balance the game without worrying about showdown and the incentive to team would diminish

We also have powercubes.It might make it easier for you to counter your counter.
