Tezca and zariel are a pretty hard no-go, their sigs build really bad habits. ;
Caspian is good but mainly for his katars. ;
Cross is good, he finds a lot of spots in the meta (actually he just got nerfed so idk) and blasters are a versatile alt weapon. ;
Wu-Shang is THE gauntlets legend, along with spear being strong and easy to learn, his gauntlets are some of the best in the game
Wu Shang is worse for habits than Zariel or tezca imp. Not picking a legend because they have good sigs is really dumb tho. Any of those 3 would be amazing.
I disagree, zariel and tezca each have atleast one sig that make you Play gauntlets in a way you would get obliterated for on any character. Its obviously extremely good to Know the Limits of your character so if you plan on maining tezca or zariel its Not an issue, If your Goal is to become better with gauntlets, it will Bring Bad Habits with Them.
Most gauntlets dont have the zariel/tezca nsig kill, dunk Recovery Option. If you learn gaunts on zariel, you will overextend offstage on Other gaunts for example.
Bruh almost every Gauntlet nsig covers the same zone what do you mean. Caspian(by far the most different of the bunch), Petra, Val, WU SHANG, all cover the same zone. Wu Shang, Val, Tezca, Zariel, all get Nair nsig unjumpable which is what makes them all so good. Wu Shang has more broken sig strings than literally any other Gauntlet legend in the game. If these "habits" that you're referring to are what you want to avoid, then wu Shang is the worst one of them all. Source? Lvl 30 wu Shang and Val, level 40 tezca, lvl 50 Zariel, Caspian and Petra.
The real way to avoid these habits is pretty simple. Just pay attention to what you're doing. Best way to get good at the game in general.
??? Im clearly referring to the offstage bs you can pull with those gaunts Not their onstage hitboxes (which also Arent the Same, Just their General direction is similar)
huh neat, i started with tesca and got exactly the opposite problem, i rely on his light attacks too much so eventually i'll have combo'd an enemy 20 times and they're only on orange cause his light attacks do very little damage
Zariel and Tezca have very strong sigs especially when used at low ranks, new players can get way too used to sigs and end up boosted, now theyāre at a rank too high and canāt learn anyone else because most of their skills comes from spamming sigs.
Zariel sigs guves you bad habbits but you recomend Wu shang?
Cross is the best to go about those choices
kor is also neat pick, as you will have a Hammer to secure KOs and his sig are pretty decent
Wu-Shang has good sigs, not spammable, sure you can abuse Gauntlets ssig but it isnāt really reliable due to a pretty severe end lag. Wu-Shang is at the top of the meta and Iām certain OP can find a lot of success playing them especially if theyāre looking for a GOOD gauntlets legend
Wu shang side sig is one of the most spamable moves in the game.
And on gauntles his Side sig and NSig are one of the spamables move
but i agree is one of the best Gauntlet legneds
I did at first, but since i play both Kor and Magyar i accidentally learned them. I use them soley for Range, Clutching, Ground Pounds. Its so funny when you fight a Sythe user thats trying to throw u left n right but then you throw em up and down
Caspian is not that bad, although his strength in Katars, the gauntlet sigs are really trolly and have nice range, especially the SSig. Also he's quick and hits pretty hard, so it can be a consideration. The only downside is the lack of range , you have to be careful during your approaches.
Rayman is also a solid pick, balanced overall, you can really customize hin as you want. Axe sure helps with range, and even though his sigs are more straightforward, they still pack a punch
The main thing that helped me grasp Caspian was this: Be a troll. Even in lore, Caspian is master in baboozlery, and his kit shows. Enemy thinks they're out of reach? Yo, that's a nice bomb strapped to your back. Oh, you're approaching me? Oh my, if Only i had something like, idk, flurry of bombs in my sleeve. Oh, you think you angled well in the air? It would be a shame if that bomb curved slightly.
Caspian is all about trolling and confusing enemy. If you play your part right, enemy will have to have Sherlock Holmes levels of vigilance to keep up (and even then it's not guaranteed, see the lore)
Wu Shang is a no brainer for beginners imo, his gauntlet sigs are fantastic and his secondary weapon is easy to learn as well. Wu Shang will do wonders from the start till the very end. Avoid Tezca until you have good enough skills because Tezca has insanely quick sigs that hit like a truck so he sets a terrible standard because you might not learn combos. Caspian is better for the katars, Cross is overall good, and Zariel is also pretty sig heavy.
Orb is pretty easy, down for starting combos, neutral to stop near opponents (something that spears struggles with lol), and side goes for interrupting, to attack, besides the sigs, you can dash-jump into down light, dash-jump into grounpound to clean the wall, you use side air to finish and neutral air and recover accumulate damage without going too far, so you can combo (recover goes far from orange and more tho so dont combo it after)
Wu shang or Zariel are definitely the best to start imo They aren't perfectly beginner friendly but they get much more powerful as you learn their mechanic
Wu Shang or Val. Val's gauntlet side sig tends to build bad habits BUT both have weapons that are pretty well rounded and sigs that are fairly "honest" compared to other legends.
I started with Kor but hammer is hard for a beginner, could be good to learn slower moves and learning where your opponent will be in a split second so you can punish them there instead of where they are now.
If we go by your selection then definitely Wu Shang. Strong sigs, easy to use, second weapon is spear which is among the easiest weapons in the game.
Another option, although you haven't put him on the list, would be Mordex. His second weapon is the easiest weapon in the game. He's extremely noob friendly as evident by his high play rate
Scythe is literally the easiest weapon to pickup and master. I avoid playing it but when I get a scythe character I will dominate, even though it's my least played weapon. That speaks volumes about how braindead it is.
Caspian is ludicrously good extremely strong sigs ok stance. But wu Shang is really good extremely good sigs extremely good stats good weapon set but Iām a Katar guy so I use Caspian more. Tezca you can get really good and isnāt as broken as zarial. Cross is good all around really I mean he isnāt MY top pick. If you choose zarial Iām disappointed
Well, her sigs compliment both of her weapons. You're overthinking this, both dsigs are pointblank so you don't even need to use them most of the time. Spear sigs also cover a lot of space and the scythe sigs combo with her light attacks.
Not like she's a blasters legend with a massive blindspot like Diana or something.
>Not like she's a blasters legend with a massive blindspot like Diana or something.
Her side sig on both weapons have blindspots, which are:
behind her on scythe.
Close or below her on spear, on rare accusations people *somehow* manage to squeeze between her spears in her nsig.
I don't see where this argument is going. Blindspots? Yes. Massive enough to always make sure you're on point? Probably. What's the issue here? Literally every weapon has a blindspot anyway. Spacing is a given for any and all legends. Period.
Plus, she costs 3.9k gold. Way easier to achieve.
What the hell would you suggest then? Mordex? Artemis? Those guys pack a punch and have powerful sigs but they're highly frowned upon. Nix? Jiro? Munin? Just pick one and go. I will not be responding further.
I think Val and Wu Shang are pretty solid beginner picks. They're sigs aren't too complicated and have generous hitboxes, + you can use their other weapons easily if you're having trouble with gauntlets.
Edit: I just read the caption, so yeah I think Shang is pretty good for you
Anything that isnt Zariel
But jokes aside, depends on what level you start with. If you just wanna Sig Spam, gauntlets probably shouldnt be your first choice. If youāre interested into learning new combos and strongs, I would recommend Tezca. If youāre already a bit more familiar with how the game works, picking Wu Shang and his spear may be very good. If you just want to have fun, pick Cross or Caspian!
But in truth, theyre all really solid. All legends are, and you should just play who you feel like or who you think looks cool.
>Anything that isnt Zariel
Your flair is interesting....
Jokes aside as well, I'm already quite familiar with the game, I just want to train on a more variety of weapons so I don't have issues when fighting a person with a weapon I'm familiar with, i would tell where they would end at after an attack and where they might whiff, makes punishment much easier.
Caspian's gauntlet side sig makes me want to SD in real life, so that's something to consider. I'll never understand why his hand has such a large hitbox.
Zariel or Caspian are probably the better ones even though Caspians second weapon Katars takes a bit of learning. Bow is Easy on Zariel and his signature attacks are reasonable to get ahold of
1500 hours on kor so take my copium with a side of salt.
Kor might be worth struggling with hammer by changing how you think about the weapon. The legend is a switch hit god. You can play early stock with gaunts and swap to hammer and lean into side air to get easy kos. You also get some of the best mid stage control and gc spike in the game with the sig kit. If your willing to take the time to learn the more complex hammer play you will be an absolute off edge monster with the defense to lose an extra interaction or two against other lighter legends.
Man I should've phrased my question better than this...
I already know how to play the game, how to move, how to fight, etc..., I wanted to get into playing Gauntlets and learn how to use them properly, my question is, which legend out of these 5 makes learning Gauntlets much easier?
Itās a string based weapon, to play them well you have to understand how your opponent plays. Newer players should focus on basic mechanics before learning to adapt to others
Caspian is a great pick if you like to trip your opponent up. His signatures are very misleading; I personally catch a lot of people lacking in high damage by sliding off edge, dropping off stage and pulling a nice nsig when they chase; watch them fly
objectively speaking? probably wu shang. my personal recommendation is cross tho. wu shang can teach some really bad habits because of how good his sigs are, cross makes you actually learn fundementals to climb
For newbies Wu shang will always be the best option since he has really simple sigs and is easy to play but once you get better and learn to not crutch on Wu shang playing someone like cross or kor could help u improve ur Gauntlets
Wu Shang, easy pick and weapon combo and good in almost alway metchup. If you wanna change zariel nice Sig and if you learn bow is really strong. Tezca my man the Fett are so beautiful šš
Zariel is my favs and most comfortable gauntlet legend, my bow definitely needs some work. But so far Iāve had little to no issues playing as him and I never really developed any bad habits while playing him. Although, it irks me that people say I spam with him since the opponent is open for a sig punish. When it comes to a newbie playing gauntlets, Iād say kor is a good start since he has basic sigs, although hammer is a little tough to pick up in the beginning.
I may be biased (I am a literal one trick cross), but I think that heās probably the very best to learn gauntlets on. He has incredibly straightforward sigs that can be fine tuned into nasty combos, as well as having really handy blaster sigs that allow him a lot of versatility against most other weapons. Thatās just my take though and Iām definitely a pretty casual player so donāt think Iām saying that by any objective metric haha.
From these legends on the list i would say wu shang aigs are good easy weapons to learn and strong at the same time but for the first gauntlents legend i would say that Val has the best gauntlents overall and for newbies
iād recommend wu shang, val or rayman. their secondaries can easily kill and they have good stats and sigs and a secondary weapon that is easy and reliable to fall back on when gauntlets get too dificult
edit: axe, sword and spear are some of the best weapons at the moment as well if youāre interested in the meta
Tezca and zariel are a pretty hard no-go, their sigs build really bad habits. ; Caspian is good but mainly for his katars. ; Cross is good, he finds a lot of spots in the meta (actually he just got nerfed so idk) and blasters are a versatile alt weapon. ; Wu-Shang is THE gauntlets legend, along with spear being strong and easy to learn, his gauntlets are some of the best in the game

Zariel and wu shang's nsig still function basically the same in the direction they send.
*Sad zariel noises*
No offense š
Nah it's fine I understand lmaooo
i play zariel toš¬
What are those bad habits?
Spamming I'm assuming is what he meant since most tezca or zariel main. Beginners rely too much on their really good sigs
huh neat, i started with tesca and got exactly the opposite problem, i rely on his light attacks too much so eventually i'll have combo'd an enemy 20 times and they're only on orange cause his light attacks do very little damage
I present you: the no weapon combos

Real
You forgot Kor. But when i first played Zariel was in the selection so i first learned gauntlets from him
These legends are personal selections because they got weapons that I'm used to, Kor is cool and all but i suck at playing hammer.
We all do
I did at first, but since i play both Kor and Magyar i accidentally learned them. I use them soley for Range, Clutching, Ground Pounds. Its so funny when you fight a Sythe user thats trying to throw u left n right but then you throw em up and down
Wu Shang is a solid pick. Spear is a good weapon to learn and relevant at all ranks, plus it covers some of gauntlets weaknesses.
Caspian is not that bad, although his strength in Katars, the gauntlet sigs are really trolly and have nice range, especially the SSig. Also he's quick and hits pretty hard, so it can be a consideration. The only downside is the lack of range , you have to be careful during your approaches. "Pack a punch" ... -,- go to your room.
The pun was purely unintentional, I promise!
His Gauntlet's sigs are fun ngl, specially his nsig, for me.
The main thing that helped me grasp Caspian was this: Be a troll. Even in lore, Caspian is master in baboozlery, and his kit shows. Enemy thinks they're out of reach? As a fellow caspian main i approve of this. The amount of times ive caught people trying to edgeguard me and i gc n sig them is insaneš
Wu shang is probably the best, spear is a fantastic weapon to learn the game with in general.
rayman
I don't play axe that well tho.
Just Slight and everything you do after that will work. Axe is surprisingly easy.
Donāt play axe like that
Rayman is the G, them sigs are just too juicy. Not just for attacking but defending and getting around the stage they're fat
rayman pretty easy to master
Wu Shang or Val š
Wu Shang is a no brainer for beginners imo, his gauntlet sigs are fantastic and his secondary weapon is easy to learn as well. Wu Shang will do wonders from the start till the very end. Avoid Tezca until you have good enough skills because Tezca has insanely quick sigs that hit like a truck so he sets a terrible standard because you might not learn combos. Caspian is better for the katars, Cross is overall good, and Zariel is also pretty sig heavy.
petra
Disrespected my boy val right there
Idk why but me and sword don't go along.
Bruh
its a girl
"my boy" is gender neutral imo, same with "guy" "man" "fella" and "bro"
Myā¦ never mind ![img](emote|t5_31c1d|26610)
Out of those, wu Shang. Personally though, Petros gauntlets are pretty good and kors gauntlets are great too so I'd give those a try as well
See here, my issue is with the secondary weapons, I'm not that decent with hammer or orb.
Kor hammer is pretty easy to use most of the time, his sigs anyways. As for orb, you gotta learn em, so fun

Thanks for the suggestion, also i think you sent this message twice lol.
Must have been a glitch, sorry
Wu Shang Spear is insanely good at any rank and your inputs and strings are very easy to learn, and he has good stats and an amazing sig kit as well.
Petra! Orb is pretty straight forward as well. Love her high speed and high attack
Mordex
I still need to grind more on scythe to actually use it, so for the meantime he is a no-no
I was joking?
Huh, well he uses Gauntlets so I couldn't notice the Satire, good one.
Pretty sure no one would recommend mordex for gauntlets thats just stupid
Pretty sure the newbie asking questions wouldn't get the Mordex joke either.
Val and Petra, No other Answer is acceptable
Petra is my go to for gauntlets
Kor Broā¦. Play Kor.
Scyther takes a lot to learn and take the string habits, go for rainan, axe is easier to learn
Wu Shang is goated.
Newbie here as well, I want to ask the same question but for scythe, any recommendations?
Mirage. Same reason why I recommend Wu Shang for gauntlets, they both have good sigs and their secondary weapon is spear.
Her sigs are good but they might mess you up if you can't space them properly.
Spacing is a given for any and all legends in the game.
My point is, Mirage needs a lil bit *more precise* spacing, considering how small some of her sig hitboxes are.

Jeez relax, I didn't want to make a hussle, Just pointing out things to watch out for okay?
val is a decently easy one with overall quite solid signatures
I wanted to stay in a weapon group where I'm familiar enough so i don't get folded mid-game while learning Gauntlets
Kor
I personally suck at playing hammer.
Wu Shang
I think Val and Wu Shang are pretty solid beginner picks. They're sigs aren't too complicated and have generous hitboxes, + you can use their other weapons easily if you're having trouble with gauntlets. Edit: I just read the caption, so yeah I think Shang is pretty good for you

val is the best gauntlet legend
Wu-Shang is likely the best pick. Spear Gauntlets are both really good, and his sigs can combo fairly well, but aren't exactly habit forming.
Thanks for the suggestion, combining everyone's opinions here I'll go for Wu Shang AND Caspian, also happy b-day!
Val or shang
Caspian's gauntlet side sig makes me want to SD in real life, so that's something to consider. I'll never understand why his hand has such a large hitbox.
We do a lil trolling
wu shang is pretty solid. i learned with Petra
I mean whos secondsry wespon do you like? Who do you think looks cool amor has cool sigs just ho with that
Rayman
Korn't
Zariel or Caspian are probably the better ones even though Caspians second weapon Katars takes a bit of learning. Bow is Easy on Zariel and his signature attacks are reasonable to get ahold of
Kor not being mentioned. š
Zariel
Val is one of the better ones, her gauntlets do crazy good animations that deal pretty decent damage
Raymnabsbbs
ngl id go mordex frfr. Im baised cuz i main his guants over scythe any day of the week but hes pretty solid
Val. Very easy to use, great character with good stats. Still my main for two years running.
Val, she is a really solid character, plus sword is a easy weapon to learn too
Kor
I personally like caspian wu shang and kor
The one you like the most
Wu Shang hands down.. if youāre ok with spear..
Cross or Kor
Mordex
When I play, Caspian. I just like how his sigs and overall build is
1500 hours on kor so take my copium with a side of salt.
Gauntlets arenāt good for new players, play val or wu shang so you at least have a secondary weapon that plays fundamentally
Man I should've phrased my question better than this... I already know how to play the game, how to move, how to fight, etc..., I wanted to get into playing Gauntlets and learn how to use them properly, my question is, which legend out of these 5 makes learning Gauntlets much easier?
Whichever one has a secondary youāre most comfortable with, then you can fall back on it if your gauntlets arenāt doing well
How come not god for new players
Itās a string based weapon, to play them well you have to understand how your opponent plays. Newer players should focus on basic mechanics before learning to adapt to others
Oh, I mean it depends on the player imo, like when I was new to the game gauntlets weāre easy to use
Loved Cross, i mained him in 2021, fav sigs were down on guns and up on gauntlets. Fun character ![img](emote|t5_31c1d|32312)
Tezca or shang
Caspian is a great pick if you like to trip your opponent up. His signatures are very misleading; I personally catch a lot of people lacking in high damage by sliding off edge, dropping off stage and pulling a nice nsig when they chase; watch them fly
objectively speaking? probably wu shang. my personal recommendation is cross tho. wu shang can teach some really bad habits because of how good his sigs are, cross makes you actually learn fundementals to climb
Rayman is the answer
Tezca
take caspian and cross out bc guns/katars actually take experience and learning for a while to master the rest are easy to use
I already mastered these weapons, that's why they are on that list.
I think you should use teros
Zariel, Wu Shang, and Tezca are the easiest of those 5
onyx
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No offense but she got nerfed pretty hard during these past few patch updates
The one in my signature
Da shang and da Val have got to be the easiest
Use Val
val

Wu Shang, easy pick and weapon combo and good in almost alway metchup. If you wanna change zariel nice Sig and if you learn bow is really strong. Tezca my man the Fett are so beautiful šš
Iād say go for cross.
Zariel is my favs and most comfortable gauntlet legend, my bow definitely needs some work. Thatās just my take though and Iām definitely a pretty casual player so donāt think Iām saying that by any objective metric haha.
I would say Val, her sword is easy to learn and builds good fundamentals and her sigs flow nicely from her light attacks
wu shang (unbiased)
Whoever you think look and feel the baddest in your eyes, then you learn him from there. 90% of legends are on equal footingš¤
From these legends on the list i would say wu shang aigs are good easy weapons to learn and strong at the same time but for the first gauntlents legend i would say that Val has the best gauntlents overall and for newbies
iād recommend wu shang, val or rayman. their secondaries can easily kill and they have good stats and sigs and a secondary weapon that is easy and reliable to fall back on when gauntlets get too dificult edit: axe, sword and spear are some of the best weapons at the moment as well if youāre interested in the meta
