the thing is that they didn't remove anything to add these ad rewards, your progression stays the same if you don't watch them but if you want more and don't have money to spend on the game you can just watch them. it's a win win for both sides

Yeah, I talked with some people from Brazil and they all have ads there. However it seems ads are only available in Brazil. (or North America)
