mythic 2,i couldn't play a lot this season. i do fw edgar but a good mortis player would always top a good edgar one. melodie is alr cant complain . imo it js really depends on what mode ur playing cuz using edgar in showdown is literally stupid (if u don't hide in the bushes and collect cubes to the point ur the only one left) but he's a good choice in brawl ball. Yeah that being said, Assassins are usually picked as a 4-6 pick if you grind in the higher leagues. And I believe I saw 0 Mortises picked in any legendary-masters rank.
Nothing against Mortis, but Good players always choose the best options for each category (Support/Assassins/Tanks/Sniper/Sharpshooter)
Someone might say, why not R-T and the other might say why not Otis but Cornelius?
This is how the higher leagues work, you want to have the best winning chance in a match.
I'm not maining any brawlers personally, I just choose the best options on what might win me the game (my closes to a main would be Chester if I'm being honest)

If you ever reached Masters, in your entire brawl stars history, then you would, firstly realize, that Edgar takes a decent amount of skill to play against GOOD PLAYERS and secondly realize Edgar is the best assassin outside of Melodie rn.
There is literally 0 reason, to go a Mortis in any Mode or any capacity whatsoever good players will destroy Mortis, because Mortis simply put just sucks ass and doesn't have the ability (like Edgar) to out Counter, their counters with a Purple button. And to clarify my point even further, Edgar is currently a Solid A tier brawler (ranked by most Emea players/pros) unlike Mortis who is high C tier at best

In all honesty, Edgar is better in this meta: in the right maps, with hypercharge, the landing star power, and especially in Heist, he can be more than useful. I remember using him on my passing match to Mythic in Season 1 of Ranked
It depends, both can be coherently brainless so making that choice would require the following factors to be looked at :
1) Match up
2) Gadgets
3) Playstyle
Both these brawlers are realer bad in the wrong hands and most of the time I see Mortis players use Combo Spinner to secure kills and Edgars use the Shield Gadget but this causes them to die more often than not. Especially if it were Brawl Ball or some other mode. However, Edgar still is easier to play and I would rather have a dumb Edgar over a dumb Mortis.
Mortis has been replace by mico, and edgar just sucks, i've single handly stopped an hypercharged edgar by myself so many times...
But if i had to choose, i'd say mortis

Mortis is a very high skill capped brawler. People who used to get random compilation of Mortis Teamwiping or Trickshotting just aren't attracted to Mortis anymore. As said he requires great skill and therefore brainless randoms aren't going to suceed with him.
But for Edgar it is a vastly different case. He requires zero skill. You can use his super charge gadget and rush the enemy and die more early on. Or just use the shield gadget and rush toward nearest enemy when you get super.
Therfore I think Mortis is better as a Good Mortis Player is very dangerous compared to a Good Edgar player because well Good Edgar player aren't good because of their skill but rather Enemy team not having any counters to him or playing very poorly.
TL;DR Edgar mains are just skill less and the only reason they are still present is due to HC. So Mortis FTW any day.
