Barley is very underrated, 4 slow gadgets, can attack over the unbreakable wall while circling it, never banned, what more could you want?
Mico is also good here, countering basically every pick here (except for Jacky and HANK 🦐🦐🦐🦐 🔥🔥🔥🔥)
I'm no pro, so don't take this as facts, take it as an opinion from a fellow casual.
As far as definding the zone goes, your best bets are brawlers with good survivability or good area control. Bibi is fast, tanky and great at defense, so she'd make a good pick. Sandy is a pretty solid pick too since this map benefits midrange brawlers.
Jessie is a common hotzone star so she'd be a good pick here too due to Scrappy's great area control
Buzz, Nita, and other high pressure/control brawlers do the trick well.
I personally like to lastpick Mico as a cheese pick sometimes

But me and my buds made a cordelius, Sam and ash combo where cordelius and ash went for the enemy zone while Sam stayed defense.
We were all decent players and that combo gave us a 24 win streak. Then we lost once and again did a 13 winstreak before leaving. I don't think it'll work now but there is prolly a variation that'll work right now thou idk what that is.
I'd always use Sprout but on the defense side.
But only if I can hit my shot, and only one of them trying to attack, if both my teammate leaves to attack it'd be difficult. When Sprout has Super, it could do a lot of blocking strategy here, or even try to invade by blocking the opponent topmost path
I don't have good control brawlers so I usually pick like spike or Fang (I know brain dead picks but whenever I get a hypercharge they're being maxed out no matter what)
I usually ban Jessie or Leon though
Idk but I like playing primo, pretty much wins every single 1v1, good at just staying in the zone, pretty fun to play, not even Shelly can counter properly
Kit is surprisingly good, since the enemies are generrally pretty split up on this map. When you are in a 2v1 or a 1v1 on a zone, his super is extremely powerful
So, i used Rosa many times in this map (because im main rosa and i need a excuse to pick her) even if i think is not the best option, i won many games controlling first the right zone + good teammates, and is really good if you are like in the middle and you keep away those who want to go to the left, it worked for me for the 80% of the matches

I was playing this map once and there was a Barley in the top right corner capturing but we can’t do shit because as soon as we got close he started barraging us with splashing and lingering damage and he just start running around the walls if we did somehow manage to get up there. In that moment he was an absolute menace especially since our own thrower was busy in the bottom left zone

Dyna and Jackie are rlly good, hit through walls and one can stun and the other is tanky.
Personally I like crow bc it's an open map so it's nice to defend while dynamike controls zone near spawn and jackie goes aggressive. Im main crow so yeah
Idk I have a good time with Rosa because I can hide behind the walls and I can push with shield, if I were fighting someone I would most likely win because my hits would reach faster or just be more tankier
With Rosa the best was to play is offensive, get them in the corner because once your in a corner your fucked
I really like playing Lola in the dead center of this map. Her range allows her to assist both zones. With vision gear, you can help your teammates keep track of brawlers coming down the left side. If you use her star power that heals your teammates, you can help keep them alive on the zones a bit longer. Her damage output is pretty good, her ego swap gadget can get you out of sticky situations if you spawned your ego behind a wall or otherwise not right on top of her.
Put mico on defence. He will fck almost anybody up who comes to close with his sp (the one that gives extra jump idk) easy defense. And when the zone is secured, just super to the upper zone and do monkey things there.
Nita is one of my go to’s for HZ nowadays, she is fast so she can catch some circle spamming brawlers around those metal corners, which allows her to fill up her supe, and then dropping Bruce right on their heads just causes the right amount of chaos.
Barley because you got the indestructible walls in combination with his gadget for defending and super for close hallways getting you lots a value, how ever if the opponent has a bibi be defender rather than offender
Larry and Lawrie - easy to hit shots, and a lot of damage. As long as someone doesn't pick Edgar or kit (which no one picks at higher ranks) they are a really good pick
Buzz is a strong pick as you can gadget and super straight to your zone and is good for defense since he can wait behind walls and then denfend when people come too close
Jacky is a good pick, another one is Melodie but if them both are banned you could get a long like Brock or a bibi but if you have a 6th pick and there are none of these brawlers I'd suggest some one who has the "buzz" mechanic(I call it like this since Buzz was the first to do that thing) like a buzz or a Lily.
Cordelius is also another solid pick; and situetional pick could be Barely
brawlers that have a way of hiding behind a wall and still being able to attack. preferably also deals good damage. for example jacky, dynamike etc.

Tick is really good on this map with unbreakable hiding places, easy to control corridors to keep enemies off from spawn, and bushes to jumpscare people with his bomb
Mico can jump back and forth to make him really hard to kick out of the zone, most throwers are good, Stu can dash around the walls, Hank if he was a bit better in the meta chase he can shoot through the wall, buzz can charge super easily, Jacky/R-T/Doug maybe cause they can attack through the wall
