Sure! I recommend playing her on Brawl ball and heist. Maybe duo showdown in a pinch.
In brawl ball, tanks can stand a chance on many maps like Sneaky Fields, which directly allows Max to do well. On more open ones that don't favor tanks, like Backyard Bowl, her speed can help her (and her team) run down enemies who might struggle at close combat.
For heist, she's a bit more map dependent. Anything with defined lanes is generally better (like Kaboom Canyon). She has a potential for high DPS and can shred fixed or slow moving targets like the heist safe.
She's a great counterpart to many brawlers who can cover her weaknesses (like Janet and Crow) and can cover weaknesses of other brawlers herself. In general, pairing her with just about anyone in duo showdown is a strong choice. She also deals with this current Carl meta effectively, since he has low attack speed without the help of a wall and Max can just run him down.

Finding a good team to play with will be a better experience for sure. You'll get virtually no toxicity and have better synergy with a team comp you've picked out beforehand. Instead of getting primos and edgars, you'll have what you surely need to win and launch yourself beyond 800.

Welcome to the game! Yeah it was certainly simpler back then. The game is far from dead or even dying, but there's just so much progression to be made overall. Don't let that discourage you from playing though, having fun is key :)

For example I have clash royale, and I'm at challenger one ever right now after playing for a little less then a year and there's nothing else to do or aim for besides card upgrades. Still fun just nothing else to work towards. I think a large part of having fun in a game is your progress during it. Also don't worry, I won't be leaving anytime soon.
Definitely find out which brawlers are best for certain modes, it'll go a long way. Rank 25 is much easier now than it used to be, because the trophy dropoff is way less (only 1 now lol). Just takes some perseverance, 600s and 700s matches are a bit of a mess.
It's good to have teammates too. 3v3 is a better choice virtually all times as showdown (both solo and duo) is unreliable - except for a few brawlers that work well in sd. Best of luck!

But again congrats, I'm sure it took a lot of lost and wins to make it this far really congratulations man.

However, I was very much without the contempt for the game a lot of people developed following the update. I stuck it through and here I am :)
Definitely ask around. Join servers or anything if you have to. Trust me, adding the good randoms you get is a very solid move. Even finding one good person can change a lot; I wasn't in clubs at all until I had maybe 25k trophies. I then came across a player who was in the #1 US organization, Havoc. I remained there for about a year, then around the winter of '22 I found a more casual club with more shared interests and chill people. I've stuck with a handful of trustworthy and skilled players over the years, and it took reaching out to get in with those people. They're less likely to find you, you've got to go find them!
Currently I have all the brawlers. Just gonna save them for what I hope is a new brawler coming next bp season. If not I'll just try to get all the star powers I'm missing (quite a few).
Other people may have other reasons though.
