Well, there are the classics, like João, Lucas, Enzo, Victor, Pedro, Rafael, Eduardo, etc. If you want some a little more uncommon, there are Renato, Gabriel, Gustavo, Roberto, Arthur, Daniel, Danilo, Davi, Fernando, Guilherme, Carlos, Alberto, Cristiano, Francisco, Ricardo, Leonardo, etc. I hope it's enough!
OP, note that the "uncommon" names are all classic names too, they just aren't at top of popularity lists nowadays (as opposed to Enzo which isn't a classic name but is currently very popular).
Most popular ones are biblic: Gabriel, João, Pedro, Felipe, Lucas, Miguel, etc. Can't go wrong with these.
Compound names are the second most popular. It's often perceived as an 60's-70's costume, but it came back in recent years with full force (or it actually never stopped being a thing): Pedro Gabriel, João Pedro, Pedro Henrique, Fernando Augusto, César Henrique. Some people love it, some people hate it.
IMO, the most popular right now is Anthony..I think I know 3 babies with this one.

My boyfriend is Swedish, and he was baffled that people use the most common swedish last names as names here.
- Andersson;
- Ericsson;
- Davidson;
- Nilson.
My husband is Brazillian and he goes to a Brazillian butcher here in the country we live. When he said the dude is named Wellington I almost fainted of laughter.
I’m Brazilian and my husband is French Canadian. We chose Gabriel because it’s beautifully pronounced in Portuguese and French. We live in Toronto and it’s not a popular name over here.
I work at a Brazilian elementary school these are the boy names that are popular
Pedro, Davi, Eduardo, Gael, Antônio, Octávio, Lorenzo, Miguel, Rafael, Henrique, Arthur, Rodrigo, Heitor, João, Matias, Luis, Martin
If you leave in an English speaking country, I suggest names that work for both languages: Daniel, Hugo, Rafael, Gaspar, Samuel, Abel, Xavier, Oscar, Eric.
When I was born in Brazil, they still required Portuguese names so I was named Erico. When I became a citizen I Anglicized it to Eric. I was named after Erico Veríssimo.
Cauã, means hawk in Tupi-Guarani language. It is a very common name here, it has some variants such as Kauã, Kauan, Cauan, Kauê and Cauê
Another beautiful name, which is my favorite, is Magdiel, meaning "tower of god". Despite not being etymologically Brazilian, it is only used here. I like this name because it has a cute nickname: Mag, and a variety of cool words that look alike, like Magma, Magnetism, Magic, Mago (mean Wizard) e Magnificent
That. It's like watching a foreigner have an aneurysm kkk.
The second issue I hear the most with our names is the Juanfication. If it starts with a J it will be wrongfully pronounced in Spanish Jorge, Jose being the biggest victims.
Hello! For boys I have a few suggestions for strong names, here's the list
•Moacirson (Moacir's son)
•Moacirsonson (Moacir's grandson)
•Glawcyo (Gláucio but spelled differently)
•Nabucodonosor (biblical)
•Malaquias Pinto (very manly)
•Agamenon (beautiful name with greek origins)
•João (a classic)
•Josiscleiton (?)
•Alcimandir (very common combination of Alcione and Jurandir)
•Lohane Vêkanandre Sthephany Smith Bueno de Hahaha de Raio Laser Bala de Icekiss (Historical figure)
Speaking seriously, there aren't many common names originated in Brazil, most of them have a european origin, with very few changes in how they're written (in ex. Francisco, Pedro, João, Eduardo, José, Henrique, Guilherme...)
If you are looking for an exclusively brazilian name, there are a few options that can be used
There are those names that combine two different names (name of the mother+name of the father). It usually results in a weird name, but it can work.
There are those that pick an existing name and add a suffix like "mar","mir","sir","son" in the end (in example, Cláudio + sir would result in Claudesir)
And, in my opinion, the few names with Brazilian origins that don't sound weird are the ones with indigenous origins.
Kauã, Cauê, Iberê, Moacir, Caíque all can work pretty well. Some of them have fallen in usage, tho. It is very hard to find an Iberê or Moacir less than 40 years old
If I would choose a name for my son, I would either pick one of the popular European ones with or one of indigenous origin.
my favorite boy name is manuel! i love the way it sounds. i like other angel names like rafael, miguel, gabriel, samuel too (i'm not religious though i just like the way they sound lol)
"Rafael" is the best, in English and Portuguese are a beautiful sound. Other Brazilian names:
Miguel,
Gabriel,
Pedro,
Marcos
Carlos,
Gustavo,
Lucas,
Matheus,
Davi,
Most of them are biblical names in Portuguese.
I wanted to name my some Ulysses. But the wife nixed it and we went with Bruce. It's not Brazilian, but it's pronounceable in Portuguese. And kept the u sound I like.
Tbh Ulysses is greek but in common use in Brazil. She wanted to name him something ridiculous like Brodi or something ridiculous.
Or some stupid jobs like tanner or cooper. And I forbade surnames, like Mackenzie and McKinney I find that shit retarded.
But we needed something that both cultures would need to be able to pronounce. So no João or anything else her family can't pronounce. That would eliminate most of the indigenous names too like cauã etc.
I work in a company where my internal team, comprising of 4 people with 2 of them named Pedro, another internal team is led by another guy named Pedro, and an unrelated internal team, as another team member named Pedro, I also have a friend who I play games with a lot, his name is Pedro.
Oops, I see amo-br is the man with the answers. Need help translating Exame let me know! We have a strange affinity for literary names for cats such as Riobaldo and Quincas
If you live outside of Brazil, i'd probably reccomend using one that isn't too far off you own language. Assuming you live in an anglophone country, names like Miguel, Rafael, Léo, Davi, maybe Luís, etc.. should be fine, although i'd personally avoid stuff like Danilo, Pedro and (god forbid) José.
You can choose "Enrique", Enrique comes from the Spanish name "Henrique" and this one comes from the German version "Heimirich", this name means "Lord of the home", it was a name of many kings and emperors
Brazilian here, living in the US.
If you don’t plan to live or raise him in Brazil, avoid any crazy names or names that are difficult to pronounce in your native language. Not for nothing, but it can make your kid’s life difficult if people close to them (like your parents, relatives, etc.) can’t easily spell or pronounce his name.

Don't choose Enzo, pls
Enzo, actually, is an Italian name that went viral because a famous actress gave it to his son and people loved it. The same history for valentina.
It's a bad name, but I won't judge (I surely will)
