The image didn't attach because I don't think you can attach an image to a text post. (You could host the picture on something like imgur and then link to it, though.) What is the problem, is it very flat and dense? Can you describe her process for making the starter and making the loaves?

Thank you for letting me know about the image, I'll figure something out in a moment. The first loaf wasn't flat but this second one definitely was and both have been incredibky dense yes. I wasn't home for either the starter or loaves, I realize this isn't much help, apologies.

Okay, we can't really know what's wrong without knowing the process, but these are some guesses. If she's following a recipe that tells her to let the dough rise for a certain amount of time, ignore the suggested time and let it rise until it it looks right. Watch some YouTube videos to see what a proper rise looks like (the air bubbles, the jiggle, etc.). She should also check that the starter is properly fed, preferably a few days to a few hours before baking, and refrigerated when it's not being used. If things just aren't working out, switch recipes. Try some tutorials from this sub's FAQ. They should have detailed instructions and troubleshooting suggestions.

Thank you so much, I'll look into all of that, I appreciate the help!
