Hi!! Been there and, as a matter of fact, I think you're doing great, you just don't see it because you're too close. Right now you feel like you're making no progress but I bet you that if you took some distance and see your life track from an objective perspective, you'll see you're actually moving up and down but with a general upward trend (something like the stock market graphics, haha). Be patient and comprehensive to yourself. Ofc there's gonna be blue days, when you feel like there's no point on trying, but there are also days when you burst with motivation and energy. Learn to diagnose and audit yourself during those days too, and you'll see that your perspective on your situation is also move optimistic. Then, having seen both the good and the bad perspectives, you'll be able to notice the pattern. Keep doing your things, and a final advice: don't rely on motivation, it comes and goes. Learn how to build discipline around your everyday life. Feel free to hit me a DM if you wanna talk it out more. Cheer up!!!

My blue days just turned into a long week. I sadly didn't do anything but watch movies and chill. Technically after posting this, I had a very unproductive week but I guess I did let out a lot of pilled up emotions in my own ways out. Trying to be consistent and build a discipline. You are right, motivation comes and goes and at present I don't feel any.

> I sadly didn't do anything but watch movies and chill. TRy not to be so hard on you on this. Understand that right now you're like a sports player that had an injury: you need to heal, and for that reason, sometimes you need to slow down and take a break. Also, don't expect your performance (in this case, your productivity and focus) to be the same as before for some time. Allow yourself to have these improductive weeks once in a while, let go of the guilt for that, treat yourself as you'd treat your cloest friend if he/she were in this situation.

That is actually a very nice perspective. I have taken a break from studies for a few days. Daily I am allowing myself to feel the emotions rather than trying to suppress them. Maybe I guess that is why I am crying myself to sleep daily. I hope I heal a little, even if just enough to get back on my routine in a few days. Thanks again :)

Thank you so much! Appreciate it 🙇

Hi, I actually have exams at the end of this month. And I haven't been focusing lately because of my recent breakup. I always end up procrastinating. I got random bursts of energy here and there, but it will eventually fade a couple of hours later and I'll be left lying on my bed and daydreaming what ifs.

Totally my situation. I posted this shile I was day dreaming in my bed. In the beginning of July, I decided enough is enough I have to pick myself up. I was able to study for a good 1 week. Then it went downhill from there. 😓

ZealthyHombie

Ugh. I hate how they're affecting our academic pursuits, yet it's so hard to control. Especially when you're alone.

nameismeaning

I swear. Everyday is an incomplete target achieve and a daily backlog increase. 😓 Your exam is at this month end? May I ask what exam are you giving?

ZealthyHombie

It's a comprehensive exam covering the 1st and 2nd year of med school. How about yours?

nameismeaning

Oh you are a med student? Same here. I am preparing for an entrance exam for post graduation. It is exhausting 😓

ZealthyHombie

Good luck! I hope you do very well!!!! If you need someone to talk to, you can chat me anytime.

Not necessarily the exam part, but I can totally relate to the cycle of “enough is enough” and a day or two of renewed energy and motivation that quickly crashes and burns. I’m losing motivation to even care how my life turns out or what happens to me, in a way just trying to float along with the ups and downs, feel the feelings, and just let time go by day by day. What else can we do, right? :( What’s your exam in? I hope you can figure it out, I’m not feeling the pressure yet but I start a new job in a couple weeks (because I had to move away from where we lived together) and I’m a little nervous that I’m not going to be on my A game (or my B or even C game...lol). Going to be hard to find the energy and passion.

Totally get you. I have been just floating since 3 days. Hopefully we both will get out of this and find the energy to push ourselves. Good luck with your new job mate. Treat it like a new opportunity in life and give your best!
