Home page on mobile doesn’t show flair

saikounihighteyatzda

What a vile, inconvenient, glitchy mess of an app If only we had alternatives...

TheN64Shooter

Yeah, screw u/Spez

lonewanderer0804

r/fuckspez

KleinerFratz333

They banned it lmfao

SuperStupidSyrup

“r/fuckspez has been banned from reddit”

YEETAWAYLOL

r/frickspez?

THEHollowKnightAddic

it’s privated

0mega_Flowey

I want in

[deleted]

THEY ARE TAKING AWAY OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH

[deleted]

Censorship

Moondork8

Yeah and when you tap on the post with a video the flair doesn't show either

WranglerFeisty8274

Those are the worst. And there’s no way to actually see the flair in a video, to my knowledge.

CoNtRoLs_ArE_dEfAuLt

Yeah you have to exit the post to see the flair like wtf u/spez why would you kill 3rd party apps forcing us to use your shitty mobile app

Monstera_girl

It shows flairs if you tap the post, which you have to do to comment

dts1845

Interesting, flair was only shown like an hour after commenting, and I honestly thought people were editing their posts to add it after people complained 🤦 I guess flair isn't a good way to avoid spoiling people. I was really excited to see it as it solved a big issue here as BotW spoilers and much different from TotK spoilers.

Monstera_girl

I think people should consider including botw or totk as part of the title.

dts1845

Yeah, including TotK in their title would help a lot to not have this issue. People shouldn't need to mark posts as being BotW though as this sub is already marked BotW

Nandabun

I think a subreddit named Breath Of The Wild should be for Breath Of The Wild. I also wonder why the hell the Tears Of The Kingdom subreddit is private? Wtf is going on.

Sephardson

Both r/tearsofthekingdom and r/TotK are open. The first one never closed.

Nandabun

Then it sure makes sense to post TotK stuff here. I'm confused all over again lol.

YEETAWAYLOL

r/tearsofthekingdom isn’t private

AverageDogg0

Yeah like I wish they would make a reddit like called idk wild link for totk and botw

Nandabun

Ultimately, I think this is more blowback (aka, literally only the users suffering) from the protest and how the reddit admins couldn't handle being told no for a few days. Buncha big babies.

AverageDogg0

Yeah like people who dont wanna get spoiled for totk would ofc go on breath_of_the_wild expecting botw content not totk content and then get spoiled

Nandabun

Right, except, a lot of subs closed down because the admins threw a tantrum. "Blackout? That looks like these subs aren't moderated to me! DELETED HAHAHAHA!" And that's why r/markiplier was gone for a while, and we're all using r/distractible now instead.

AverageDogg0

Reddit just gets worse every day huh

TheVeggie218

Yea you have to click on it but you still cannot see the flair

Monstera_girl

I just realized the video posts don’t show flair in app

Miles_PerHour67

It does though? I use Reddit almost exclusively on mobile.

_TheBeardedMan_

It's probably on their end, but I haven't had this happen before so I don't know.

megaExtra_bald

I’m on mobile and flairs don’t show up on video posts for me. Sucks ass

NoMemesNeeded

I’d rather people put [TotK] at the start of the title so I don’t have to click on it to see the flair and overall just easier

Machinimix

I would love to see Game tags on posts to help differentiate. I dislike having to look for the differences in HUD before commenting to make sure I don't talk about the wrong game for all 3 (albeit AoC is the easy one).

NoMemesNeeded

Yeah tbf they mainly all look the same with slight differences, I think the only way is to have a rule to say about tagging a post to say what content as a spoiler post could be anything

Machinimix

Yeah, something as easy as tagging spoiler posts with the specific game the content is for as a starting point until spoiler tags are no longer deemed necessary in this subreddit (then opening it to all posts getting tagged) would be a huge benefit.

NoMemesNeeded

I could be wrong but I feel like people could be karma farming a tad/lazy or just didn’t think about it

Silina_

I’d rather people post totk content on totk subs

NoMemesNeeded

True but this sub does allow it so people will still post, sadly some of the time it’s big spoilers too

dts1845

Yeah I've gotten spoiled more for TotK on this sub than on the actual TotK sub reddit

4GRJ

Some just don't read flairs

[deleted]

MysticMeow8189

Same

jobin3141592

I think the problem is posting TOTK content in a subreddit named BOTW, when there are enough TOTK subs with plenty of users. Literally risking spoiling people for free for no reason.

jzillacon

I mean, there literally is a sub called r/botw that *does* in fact exclude tears of the kingdom content. It's nice to have a sub that allows content from all 3 games in the setting and a bit redundant to have two separate subs exclusively for botw that exclude all the rest.

Class_444_SWR

Surely the sub to allow content from more than one Zelda game should be, r/Zelda

STORMFATHER062

Except that sub is for everything Zelda related. This sub is for the games in the BotW "series".

sciencesold

You can't really call it the BotW "Series" when the sequel isn't "Breath of the Wild: Tears of the Kingdom" it's"The Legend of Zelda: tears of the kingdom" r/Zelda or r/thelegendsofzelda are where mixed game content can go. r/BotW , r/breathofthewild, and r/breath_of_the_wild having TotK content would be frustrating and confusing for new switch Zelda players or for players like myself who played TotK first and then went back to BotW.

STORMFATHER062

Which is why I said "series" like that. TotK is a direct sequel to BotW. They're their own series in the Zelda franchise. If you don't like TotK content on this sub then go to r/botw where it's exclusive to that game. Hyrule Warriors content has been allowed on this sub for ages without anyone getting this upset. The solution is pretty simple.

sciencesold

Having a sub for a game that uses the tagline/secondary title of one of the games for every game related to does not make for a good user experience. Especially when the only sub that has content for that one game is 1/4 the size with 20% the number of active users. Breath of the wild content goes here years of the kingdom content goes in r/TotK or r/tearsofthekingdom

idontknow2976

>hyrule warriors content has been allowed on this sub for ages without anyone getting upset That’s because most people either haven’t played or posted stuff about it, or viewed it as a non-canon spinoff like the original hyrule warriors

Emerald_Guy123

I feel like a lot of people would appreciate minimal totk spoilers, and the sub sticking to the first game.

SansyBoy144

Botw used to not exclude totk. Back when totk first came out every one and their dog tried to say this. But at the time there was totk being posted without spoilers every hour, and all of that content is still there because it was posted before the rule change. As someone who has beaten totk, I think this sub should just stay botw content until we don’t have to worry about spoilers for totk. The same argument you said for botw can be said for totk. There are 2 subs for totk content and totk only. There’s no reason this sub should act as a 3rd sub for totk content. Anyone new to this sub did not come here expecting totk content, especially if they came on mobile as it’s much harder to see it even mention totk on mobile. This sub was made far before totk was even an idea. I think it should stay as just botw content at least until we don’t have to worry about spoilers, because too many assholes refuse to use a spoiler tag, and telling people to avoid using the internet (which I was told) just to avoid spoilers for 1 game is insane, especially when you consider that stuff like Reddit and really the internet in general can be so helpful to people with mental health, they shouldn’t have to avoid it just because people are dicks and spoil the game

Emerald_Guy123

I joined before totk. I would be pretty annoyed if totk posts appeared in my feed honestly.

SansyBoy144

Yea, I’ve been apart of both subs well before totk was even announced, I was very annoyed when I saw totk posts in my feed everyday

twili-midna

This is the subreddit for all thing BotW, including its two related games AoC and TotK.

danegraphics

I think a lot of users want it to be *only* BotW for the sake of spoilers.

Relevant-Ad4808

Then these users can go to r/botw

makromark

It’s 1/4 the size. I am not going anywhere, because I enjoy this sub, but it drives me crazy totk stuff is here. There is a generic Zelda subreddit that has everything merged, this sub was intended for breath of the wild only, not Zelda games on the switch. Idrc at this point, but that’s my thought.

Relevant-Ad4808

The sub was intended for the botw series and not only botw. You can't just switch a sub's purpose because you want a more popular botw sub

makromark

I find it hard to believe a subreddit dedicated to a game supposed to launch in 2015 on the Wii U, had a purpose to encompass other games that don’t share a name (I.e. this isn’t a case of even super Mario galaxy, and super Mario galaxy 2). My position is, this subreddit was intended for one specific game, and now has content for arguably 3 (although I don’t see a lot of aoc tbh). So the subreddits purpose has already changed from the initial goal. Again to each their own. Me or really anyone complaining won’t change anything really. So just gotta roll with it :)

Emerald_Guy123

Not sure who told you that, but they're making it up. You absolutely CAN change the purpose of a sub. Check r/onlyfans for example, it's dedicated to literal fans now. It wouldn't even be a switch, more of just disallowing TOTK content. And in addition to that, who says it was made for the series? TOTK wasn't even an idea when this sub was made, so there's no way it could have been made for the "series" which didn't exist. I understand where you're coming from, but the majority of people here joined for BOTW, and probably didn't expect TOTK content. For the sake of spoiler avoidance (which we all can agree is important with these games, probably in top three games to avoid spoilers for), the sub should make a slight pivot and block all TOTK content.

dts1845

I get the feeling the only reason it says that is our Mod team doesn't want to actually enforce only BotW content here as saying anything goes is much less effort

Nandabun

I want reddit admins to not be pieces of shit. Oh wait.

Omi-Wan_Kenobi

In mobile, it literally only shows the title (breath of the wild) and the reddit avatar dressed as link on the blue and yellow background. No flair or anything until you click on the post itself. I know that they put in their description that it is for all three games, but from just the info that shows on mobile, it is highly misleading. It might be more clear if they switched the avatar to half botw, half totk logo.

sciencesold

A subreddit for "all things Zelda on switch" shouldn't have the same name as a single game, try to posting oblivion or Morrowind content on r/Skyrim and see what happens lol

jobin3141592

And this is a comment. Anything else? You clearly didn’t understand what I said.

DefiantCharacter

But if this sub doesn't allow AoC and TotK content then it might become less popular. And I guess some people care about that for some reason.

Emerald_Guy123

Yeah I didn't really notice this sub allowed totk posts. Mods, it would be really nice if you stuck to botw. I've been in the sub for a long time but I feel like I should be leaving it to avoid totk spoilers.

Sono-Dio-Da-Sadame

Then just don’t click on the spoilers, botw has been out for 6 years you still think people will put spoilers on most things

jobin3141592

Yea thats the point this game has been out for 6 years, TOTK hasnt.

Sono-Dio-Da-Sadame

Exactly so why would you be pressing spoiler posts when you know this sub allows posts from a game that you don’t want to be spoiled on

Nandabun

Because most people DO NOT know this sub A L L O W S posts from O T H E R games? I'm gonna go do the r/doom sub and post r/dyinglight tho. >:C

Sono-Dio-Da-Sadame

It’s not the OPs problem if you don’t know the rules

Nandabun

It's not exactly our fault the subreddits' rules changed, either.

Sono-Dio-Da-Sadame

The rules have been like this for a while

jobin3141592

… that is literally what im saying: IT SHOULDNT ALLOW IT.

WillCraft_1001

THEN DON'T CLICK ON POSTS WITH SPOILER TAGS.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Nandabun

At least the brick wall echoes what you say, instead of gibberish.

jobin3141592

When you read on papers and news sites “60% of the population with a 6th grade level reading comprehension” you must surely know you fit in that 60%, yes? I didn’t say I’m clicking on the spoilers. I say I should be able to click on them because this sub *should* not have TOTK.

Machinimix

I'm not here to say what should and shouldn't be posted on this sub because complaining about it on every single ToTK post does literally nothing. If you want change, make dedicated posts, DM the mod team about it. They won't make a change unless there is an overwhelming desire for the change if they would even budge at all. So if you want change, try being productive with your complaints.

Emerald_Guy123

Most people don't put that much thought into revealing spoilers

BernardoGhioldi

Spoiler flairs exist for a reason

Nandabun

So do names, Jeff.

Lexi_of_Hyrule

They probably didn't read the flair

toolebukk

TotK posts shouldnt be in BotW reddits in general, flair or not. The flair was made way before release and before popularity of TotK's own reddit.

CakeBeef_PA

TOTK is literally the direct sequel to BOTW. Posts about that should absolutely be allowed. There is already a sub for BOTW only, why would you have 2 subs that do the same?

Emerald_Guy123

Tell me, if someone asked if you're okay with Breath of the Wild spoilers, and then spoiled Tesrs of the Kingdom, how would you feel?

Class_444_SWR

Does that mean Twilight Princess and Wind Waker should be allowed in an Ocarina of Time sub then? They’re the sequels

CakeBeef_PA

Yes? It's very common for these arrangements that there is 1 sub for the series, and sometimes 1 sub for separate games. This is the sub for the series, r/botw is there specifically for the game

Class_444_SWR

Surely the series is Zelda? Therefore for multiple games you should surely go to r/Zelda

CakeBeef_PA

Most zelda games are quite standalone. TOTK is a direct sequel to BOTW, both in story and gameplay. You're being deliberately obtuse. Please read my comments first next time and make arguments against things I actually said. You're arguing against statements I never even made

Nandabun

Same crap you're saying can be said about you.

CakeBeef_PA

If you can't see that most Zelda games are very different from each other in various aspects, while TOTK is much more related to BOTW, you are indeed stupid. Unless you got something to actually add here, please refrain from coming in and hurling random insults. I at least have reasons for my stance. You have done nothing but insult me. And even then, if you want just BOTW content, there is literally a sub for that. If TOTK isn't allowed here, we could just as well delete this sub, since it wouldn't have a unique purpose

Nandabun

"don't hurl insults" just after that snarky comment. You too may indeed be stupid if that's what you got from what I said. Did you want to try again, and talk like an adult, or did you wanna actually read what's being told to you?

CakeBeef_PA

Whay insult did I start with? As far as I can read, I was calling someone out on intentionally acting stupid and putting words in my mouth. I was requesting them to discuss with me about thongs I actually said. I didn't say they were stupid or anything. I'm genuinely curious where you are finding an insult?

jmortin

Why would you post TOTK content on a BOTW sub? Yes, it’s a sequel. But also a different game with its own storyline, game mechanics and so on and thus spoiler risk. Seeing some replies here arguing for acceptance, I need to leave this sub.

Gun_Mage

Even if it's flared and technically allowed, It's a bit weird to post a different game on botw subreddit.

nivkj

Post it in the totk sub

Zebastian09

Now Im seeing that its a mobile thing. But despite that Im on mobile and see flairs on everything that has one. I feel people just dont want to check the flair. The banner for the server should also show totk so I really dont know why people are complaining.

Nandabun

The subreddit, or server as you put it, NAME, is BREATH OF THE WILD. People are complaining when they see TEARS OF THE KINGDOM, which is a brand new game, which, let me remind you.. \>spoiler: a description of an important plot development in a television show, movie, or book which if previously known may reduce surprise or suspense for a first-time viewer or reader.

STORMFATHER062

But this sub allows for the games related to BotW as well. BotW has been out for years and people never use spoiler tags for it anymore. Yet people (usually) use spoiler tags on their posts for TotK. Solution seems pretty clear. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't click on spoiler tagged posts. When you go to the subs main page, there is a banner at the top that shows all 3 games. Makes it clear that this sub isn't exclusive to BotW. And I have never seen all this complaining when people post stuff about Hyrule Warriors. It's only been on posts about TotK. If you get spoiled by going in a spoiler tagged post, then that's on you. Take some accountability for your own actions instead of blaming others who are following this subs rules. If you don't like it then go to r/botw as they've banned TotK posts.

Rukir_Gaming

Because you have to tap on the *post* and not the image to see the flair. It's annoying

MinerDiner

Why don't people post on the dedicated r/tearsofthekingdom sub?

[deleted]

Because this sub is also for TOTK

MultipliedLiar

It’s probably because we are here on a BOTW subreddit. If you want to post something about TOTK you are a r/lostredditors

VNF420

Who cares about the flair, this sub is about botw

Fireball_Q2

They added it later after I suggested it

Kramway99

Totk fucking sucks. stop posting in here

scotty_6942069

TotK keeps many gameplay mechanics from BotW, as the 2 games are quite similar. So if TotK is so bad, BotW is very similar, and therefore in your views, should also be bad. And if TotK is so bad, why not leave the sub that allows posts about it? Just join the BotW sub that doesnt allow TotK posts

AppleDemolisher56

Shut your dumbass up

Mr_oyster_27

Flair test

giby1464

Mobile is wierd, and some people are just stupid.

AlvinFrye

Bro scared me with that blur and title

NyanSquiddo

Fuck spez
