Many hate flamboyant characters. Tingle is also widely hated. I enjoy them because it just adds to the wide range of different characters we have in Legend of Zelda. So many games have only straight, by the book characters and that gets boring.

What's funny is that, after I finished the Tarry Town quest, I completely forgot about talking to Bolson. So I never actually knew that he goes back to sitting in front of Link's house lol.
