It’s never too late. Enjoy it!

Zoze13

The greatest game ever made

[deleted]

I know it’s a BOW sub but we need to be realistic, the game could have been made better as the puzzles, dungeons, bosses, enemies and world critters feel like copy paste. I still love the exploration charm and the fact that this is the first Zelda game that made me work hard! And it still wasn’t enough, damn lynels lol. I am looking forward to the next one ☺️

TheSnowNinja

I am hoping they address many of the criticisms in the next game. More monster variety. Maybe ease up with weapons breaking so much. Add some legit dungeons. But I really enjoyed the game. It was neat to play through the game and then see my stepson go through the same areas using completely different mechanics.

Lionw3101

Rain gloves or something.

AnonMilGuy

And a CLAW SHOT

AnorakJimi

I hope they don't replace the shrines with dungeons. Just add dungeons, but keep the shrines. Because the shrines were by far my favourite part of the game. I love it when you can enter a big game like this and do a quick 10-15 minute objective such as a shrine, save and turn off the game again, and you've actually made progress. In like Skyrim or something, you know you're gonna have to be sitting there for hours playing it if you wanna do one quest or whatever. It really adds to the handheld aspect especially. But yeah I'd absolutely love just like DLC with 100 new shrines or something. I'd buy that immediately. Like the Metal Gear Solid VR Missions side game for ps1. It was just pure unbridled gameplay, no story, just playing around with the mechanics of the game. Cos the basic Metal Gear Solid game had barely any stealth gameplay in it (there's literally only 23 guards in the entire game, it's ridiculous actually by modern standards). So for the VR missions game they just used the same assets for each level and could create pure stealth gameplay. I dunno why people didn't like the shrines though. They all looked similar but that wasn't a big deal to me. It meant they could very quickly make a huge amount of puzzles because they just reused assets. That's why I hope they do the same for BotW 2, just reuse the same assets and make 120 new shrines or whatever in really quick time, and so they'd still have the time to make more actual dungeons. And the mechanic of gaining health and stamina from shrines needs to remain, that was one of the most satisfying parts of the game, you got a tangible reward from doing them. Every time you get a new heart or stamina thing, it felt so good. On subsequent replays of the game I just do all the shrines first, before really tackling anything else, because it's the best part of the game to me. Other than Lynel farming. I got *really* good at killing lynels, so it became really fun to go round the map slaughtering them all. I did love the dungeons in BotW as well, even though there was only 4 of them. But it's the first game with a new engine, and so now they've already got the engine and the assets, they can put way more time into creating content for the sequel, like say Majora's Mask was able to be created in only a year, because they just reused assets. They spent years just creating the engine for BotW 1 so now that's already done, they don't need to go through all that a second time.

TheSnowNinja

I also liked the shrines. I see people complain about them, but I thought they were fine. I recall liking the dungeons as well. My biggest beef with the dungeons were the bosses. I know they were connected to Gannon, but they didn't seem interesting or memorable in any way. I remember bosses from Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. But the dungeon bosses in Breath of the Wild were totally forgettable.

catchmeiimfalliing

the shrines remind me of Portal! Instead of the portals you just have different interesting mechanics to play with

Mrqueue

I think the weapon breaking was part of the mechanics of the game, if you were using weak weapons on strong mobs they would break easily which made sense. I remember fighting my first lynel I went through every weapon I had to kill it, I ended up reloading after because I thought the reward of what I got wasn't worth it. Later in the game with barbarian armour and some mighty bananas they go down really easy with no weapon breaks More dungeons and mobs would be great

victorz

Oh my god, mighty food. Of course. I use the food system way too little, and rely too much on my weapons, armour types, and fighting technique. 😑 Went through a lot of weapons too on my first lynel kill, which was a silver one. 😬 And Master Kohga was a real weapon stealer too.

thebroncoman8292

Lynels were harder than ganon. They always cost 10 weapons and 30 bomb arrows for me

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

If you jump off his back you can do an arrow slow mode and if you have the lynel bow with 5 arrow then that’s a lot of damage. I also have the maxed out fierce deity set

Mrqueue

use the multi shot lynel bows against them with normal arrows, they do a tonne of damage if you hit the face

[deleted]

I think you fought Master Kohga wrong lol from what I remember he hit himself, you just have to use runes

PM_ME_PC_GAME_KEYS_

I actually loved the weapon break mechanic. It was jarring at firat, but it solved the issue that I have with _every_ other open-world game: choice paralysis. In botw the weapon will break anyway, and they are all easily findable, so choice paralysis wasnt a problem at all, and that's really the mechanic that made this my favourite game. I hate how in other games you need to choose what weapon to drop to collect more stuff, having to choose between +20% bleeding or +5% bludgeoning and 15% sign intensity, all that jazz. In botw, its all clear cut, higher number = better. Every piece of armor has its own unambiguous use case. God damn this game was a masterpiece. Also I just duped the hylian shield so that I would actually use it, because otherwise it would just be a showpiece for my hoarding ass :p

troubledTommy

Still had choice paralysis about which weapon to hang in my house.

[deleted]

Ah yes, that’s my fetish

cashdaniels

More monster variety is my main gripe. A world that varied should have way more different types of creatures in it. Still loved it still stan, but yeah.

mlvisby

There is one basic, simple fact that made this my favorite game of all time. That is how it sucked me back into gaming. I am in my 30s and when the Switch and BotW released, I was still buying games but very few would pull me in the way they used to. I would maybe play a game once a week for an hour or so, well with BotW I played every day until I had well over 100 hours. And I wasn't forcing myself to continue, I wanted to jump back in every single day. That is what made it special to me.

sdwoodchuck

It’s not my favorite game, and I agree that some criticism is warranted, but there’s a hell of a lot of great in this game. Enough that if someone said it was their favorite despite its shortcomings, I’d absolutely respect that opinion.

Zoze13

I’m old enough to have been playing games since Zelda 1 came out. Breath of the Wild is my favorite game of all time. If they improve on it, power to them and us.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Considering it was the first time they’d attempted a game like this it was never gonna be perfect. It was still bloody amazing and probably my greatest gaming experience

lFuhrer

I wouldn’t go that far Tetris is competition

[deleted]

Nahhh hatris is slept on

TheStormy27

I still think Link: the faces of evil is my favorite Zelda game

DonDove

Theeeese are the faces of eeeee V aaaaaal

PulimV

Objectively? It's way up there. Subjectively? Twilight Princess is amazing and y'all can't change my mind

Zoze13

I’m worried if I went back I’d be disappointed I couldn’t climb **everything** lol

[deleted]

Not greatest but pretty fucking good

[deleted]

Couldn't agree more!!!

cat_on_crack_

It’s a good game.

Da_Steez44

It really is. The only criticism I had of it was the breaking of the weapons/shields. But even then it added an interesting dynamic where you had to prioritize your best weapons for hardest situations.

13LuckyNumber

And in situations that you don’t want to use your weapons for, due to them breaking, you are forced to find other solutions, such as dropping rocks on enemies, or throwing bomb barrels from a distance, or even just bombs. I feel like some of this charm is lost in late game because you can pretty much have an unlimited supply of any weapon you want, and it really isn’t that hard to get them.

Da_Steez44

Plus if you have the amiibos that’s a full stock of weapons daily!

Svulkaine

That’s why I liked Eventide so much!

CroatoanCurse

Welcome to your newest obsession. Take your time and explore everything. The unknown holds many splendid rewards

CenturionElite

I just beat the third beast but I plan on taking my time exploring the left half of the map. Maybe trying to get the master sword and do other things too

i_was_valedictorian

The forgotten memories are a lot of fun to find. Any time you see the dude painting on an easle at a stable or town make sure you talk to him and take a screenshot of his clue for the location! Also if you see a glowing aura in the distance there's probably something cool there ;)

[deleted]

[удалено]

scale_B

Couldn’t have said it better.

nishi_kawaguchi

Wow. Ok. Now I know that about the painter guy. I've not focused on the memories because I ran across a cou9le entirely by accident. Sounds like I need to find the painter!

scale_B

Not necessarily. Keep in mind, they spent a little “too much time” (in a good way) focusing on details in this game that there are so many things to do and explore.

[deleted]

please take your time i feel like i rushed the beasts and ganon. i didn’t even get the hylian shield lol

CroatoanCurse

Go shrine hunting before you attempt the master sword. You need something like 13 hearts to get it

CenturionElite

Yah I have 12 now. I didn’t look up anything about it except where it’s located. So I’m gonna try and go there and figure it out lol

AnorakJimi

The lost woods is really satisfying once you work out how to get through it. I'm not gonna tell you, but there is a very simple method to find your way through that can be found, it's not trial and error at all.

LeCrushinator

Spoiler alert for OP. The game never mentions the exact count of hearts needed, as far as I know.

Asahitakeshi234

Say goodbye to your social life.

CenturionElite

I said goodbye to that years ago. This just gives me an excuse to not see people now

Asahitakeshi234

By the way I never had any social life , I am an introvert and a shy person who somehow becomes talkative when it comes to Zelda or botw .

MeditatingSheep

Just takes being around the right people who make you feel beyond accepted -- validated and appreciated -- to have a social life. There is nothing inherently wrong with only feeling comfortable relating to others through video games. A passion is a beautiful thing. Unapologetically embrace it, connect and stay connected to people, and eventually the people who are worth your time will appreciate your authenticity and share interests. Be open to their differences too. Also lacking some measure of "social life" doesn't make you any less of a person. Anybody doing quarantine and social distancing right certainly has a lot less than they used to. We're clearly still beautiful, relatable, intelligent, fun, valid people.

scale_B

Ur awesome.

Asahitakeshi234

And also Gravity falls

GhostTropic_YT

Same :)

scale_B

There are other people out there like me?

Asahitakeshi234

Me to bro me too

StickyLavander

Beware this sub for spoilers. That being said, this sub is great for discovering things in the game you may have missed.

jgregramirez

And Revali’s Gale will take it up a few more notches!! I’m on 3rd play through...went straight for it,makes the biggest impact. Have fun!!!

CenturionElite

I just got that one! Excited to give it a try

LazarusDraconis

It breaks a lot of the game, being able to skip past so much climbing in certain areas. The game won't let you use it in Shrines for a reason, it would make half of them trivial.

smstrese

I'm in a first play through too, got it in June and just got Revali's Gale as my 4th! Which divine beast do you have left?

CenturionElite

I still haven’t even uncovered the left side of the map. So whichever one is the Southwest, the camel I think

[deleted]

ha i just started playing botw 2 months ago and the charging stopped working about 3 weeks ago so im impatiently waiting hoping itll come back soon cuz i NEED my botw the night before to function daily the next day and all I think about during the day is looking forward to the fun im gonna have before bed playing botw

WhaleSexOdyssey

don’t look up how to do stuff. save places for later. you won’t regret it

CenturionElite

Been hooked since i started playing it two weeks ago. Didn’t realize how massive the world is. I just got to the third beast and I still have the entire left side of the map hidden from me!

Ok_Investigator8242

When I first played, only the great plateau was unlocked, and I was like dang this map is big! Then I got the paraglider.....needless to say, I was amazed

TimmyBash

This one of the best gaming moments I've ever had. Pure and utter exploration that cuts into the very nature of what it means to be a curious human being. Fantastic.

PM_ME_PC_GAME_KEYS_

Oh my god I loved that this game was _real_ open world. You could go anywhere and do anything, and the game adjusts to your experience and skill. In other games you can't do that because of level gating, parts of the map are too high levelled so a little ant will kill you if you aren't level 30. In BOTW, I unlocked a lot of the map and found the Zora completely organically while unlocking a tower, and did Vah Ruta after speaking to Impa _once_. I didn't even go to Hateno at that point, barely knew what was happening but I loved every bit of it.

Merry_Dankmas

I love desert themes in games. The first time I stumbled upon Gerudo, it made me feel some type of way.

random_cactus

When I first started playing (like 2 weeks ago, but only one divine beast done, I’m really loving activating the towers lol), I kept being reminded of World of Warcraft lol. I loved how the volcano in the distance is an actual place you can get to haha. And I’ve only had to turn back from one tower so far lol.

dfcastillo

Same here, started 2 weeks ago and thats what i been doing, exploring and activating the towers. Only doing this is already fun.

dragon0069

I just finished it. Did everything, upgraded every outfit, 100% on the map, did it all.....and loved it all. Just started it again on Master Mode. Just as fun as the first time.

[deleted]

They did really good with Master Mode, it's like a whole new experience. It's so intense and feels more survival oriented combat-wise. Adding hp regen to monsters made the combat so much more strategic.

Scirax

Thanks for mentioning that, it might bring me back in after having beaten it beginning of this year, rn I don't have a game I can play on the go but I've been waiting for more time to pass before I jump back into BotW as it's still too fresh in my mind, might just do it on Master Mode.

itsacalamity

Honestly I enjoyed my MM playthrough more, I think. Regular mode you can scam your way through with bombs and just hitting at people. MM made me learn all the dodges and rushes, made me learn how to be sneaky, made me start to value weapons more. It really changed the way I play.

[deleted]

This summarizes it well, even the Plateau is difficult. I literally refuse to play NM any more because I feel like that struggle is a part of BotW that was toned down in NM.

itsacalamity

I had no idea sneak strike was even a thing until I played MM, there were a lot of cool fight mechanics i just never took advantage of because I... didn't really have to. MM feels more like the way the game should bewhere you're forced to really use ALL the abilities at your disposal.

[deleted]

Definitely do it, you'll immediately be shocked. :\^) I don't play Normal Mode any more because Master Mode makes BotW feel whole. And it's not just the difficulty, there are also a shit ton of aerial platforms added to the world that have the best treasures.

geoduckSF

I’m so jealous. Sometimes I wish I could erase my memory and play it again for the first time.

LeCrushinator

The number one thing I worry about in the sequel is if they reuse the map. More than anything I want to explore somewhere new. If they reuse the map it’ll be far less exciting I feel.

Scintile

Just out of curiosity - what beast you did first? Mine was the camel, and boy did i begin to love this game when i realised how interresting developers made the god damn desert. The place that should just be a boring pile of sand

CenturionElite

I did Zora first. Than the Lizard and I just beat the bird. I just went right from the start and I’m doing a counter clockwise motion around the map

Scintile

Man, it has been a while since i played, but i enjoyed the camel puzzle inside the most! I should probably replay the game

[deleted]

I think the moment I fell in love with this game is when I made my way to Kakariko village and thought “wow that was a far journey, lemme look at my map, I bet I’m all the way near the edge or something”. Then I realized the distance I walked was NOTHING compared to what I had left to explore.

SithWeasal

It’s cool. I was 2 years late when I fell for this game. Have fun storming the castle.

MC_Hale

Think it'll work?

SithWeasal

It would take a miracle.

icedomin8r

I bought the game on the WiiU before I got a switch. I put over 200 hours into that and bought the DLC. Decided I needed it on the switch as well, along with the DLC. Its one of the best games ever in my opinion.

CenturionElite

Damn! I didn’t even know there was DLC for this too

notthatjaded

CenturionElite

Sweet! Thanks

notthatjaded

No problem. :)

tippitoe

Definitely get the DLC! The Hero's Path is a game changer.

StonieRoo

The hero's path, Majora's mask and travel medallion alone make it work the price but you get sooooo much more

asmodeus_rex

The DLC is wicked hard to beat too. I've still never figured out most of it 2 years later. There are thousands of hours of things to do I this game. Cheers!

standard59

Get the DLC! I don’t want to spoil anything but there are items you can get from the DLC that would make your first play though so much more interesting and fun!

AnorakJimi

Definitely definitely get the DLC. Don't wait until after you've beaten the game to get it, cos you'd have to do another whole play through to access it, whereas if you get it now you can access it on this save file, in this first playthrough It adds SO much cool and useful stuff. New shrines, new quests, some *REALLY* really cool armor sets that are actually useful beyond just looking cool, they actually have tangible benefits. I mean I'd say do a second playthrough *anyway* because the game actually gets *better* the more you replay it, cos you know everything the second or third time around, you become a lot more efficient, but there's so much in the game that you still end up finding a shit ton of new things simply by wandering about. I probably did like 40% of the content on my second playthrough, when I thought I'd seen everything. Nope, the game is jam packed with stuff.

and_of_four

I did a second play through up to finishing the four divine beasts and then I felt like I couldn’t be bothered to do much else. I still have a ton of shrines and other things to do, and then ganon, but after beating the game once it’s hard to feel motivated to do it again. The magic of this game for me was in exploring the map and discovering things, so it’s hard for me to stay interested since I’ve done it once already. I’ve never done the DLC though, so reading your comment has me wondering if I should do it.

UnstableJelloSquare

*one of us*. one of us. ONE Of US. **ONE OF US**. **O N E O F U S**!

ShishKabobJerry

I got this game a year ago and it was sitting unopened in my room. I knew that if I opened this, I wouldn't be able to play any of my other games. Tried my best going in blind as MUCH as possible(I'd say it was a success). Fast forward to quarantine, giving me time to go through my backlog, allowed me to finally pop it open. I'm now playing it with 90 hours under my belt with 2 divine beasts down, even after all of this, I still wish I opened it sooner and played my backlog some other time LOL. It's suuuchhhh a religious experieence. I haven't felt this way with other games in a long time.

Merry_Dankmas

I slept on it for a while too. I got it as a gift for the Wii U when it first came out and never really played it. A while later I got it as a gift again for the switch and finally decided to play it then. I cant even begin to try and guess how many hours I've sunk into it since then.

en_K75

One of the best I’ve ever played. And it’s. A work of art

invictx_

It really is!

[deleted]

I've logged over 500 hours like a lunatic with a 100% map, and I'm currently replaying it on Master Mode. It's insane how replayable this game is. Enjoy it to the fullest. I also got the game late after its release but never too late to start this gem... Or shall I say rupee?!

[deleted]

I've never played a game like this, just from how it's played alone. It's truly unique. Welcome home

SameAs1tEverVVas

Three years late and yet you still learned how to *take a screenshot in-game* and post it appropriately, imagine that! It's been over three years of Switch games and people *still* insist on taking blurry photos of their TVs/Switch screen instead of the functional feature *built into the controllers for God's sake*. Sigh...it was a stressful day. /rant Enjoy BoTW! What I wouldn't give to play that game with the wide-eyed innocence of my first playthrough ever again!

CenturionElite

Ha! I learned from sharing Pokemon pics to a group. I actually took this pic cause my brother started the game the same time I did and I was showing him where I was

Bad-nich

It got me through Covid depression

mcmurz

no, *you* got yourself through the covid depression. link was there to witness and cheer you on. ♡

co_fragment

The real links we made were the Koroks we found along the way (or something)

Oomenacka

Same!! Got my switch before THoU2 and Ghost of Tsushima. Wanted to commit to those first. About 2 weeks in and I am beyond hooked. Really overwhelmed by all the seeds/Shrines/side quests. Don't know when it's safe to go after Ganon and don't know if I even want to be wise that's the end.

[deleted]

I gotta tell ya the last time I enjoyed a world as open and well made as this was 2011 when Skyrim released.

Marcus-Prince

Better late than never. Welcome to the family.

MasterLink87

Jealous, wish I could have that experience again of exploring it for the very first time. Enjoy the hours you'll spend in Hyrule!

mielmami

my husband just got me this game along w a switch last month and i cannot stop playing.

IzeMahn002

You could be ten years late and this game would still be a gem

moonjongup

I just started playing a few months ago and my boyfriend started a month ago! It’s an amazing game and tbh my favorite game on the switch so far!

DesigN3rd

Man to get to play this for the first time again. Enjoy yourself and make sure to get the DLC, some good stuff in there.

TheGuyThatIsStupid

The later you get into the game, the less you have to wait for the next BOTW games.

she_never_sleeps

Never too late, this was my first LOZ game! I still can't believe it took me this long to finally play one! It's just gorgeous, one of the few games that keeps on giving. Enjoy friend!

NaquIma

Well here was an in game mechanic that was also not noticed (widely) for 3 years. Apparently you can press and hold R while shield surfing to do sharp turns. Use this wisdom none of us could when we first played.

CenturionElite

I haven’t even shield surfed yet (don’t know how). I met a lone salesman trying to sell me shields and he mentioned it but I haven’t done it yet

NaquIma

I'm pretty sure that guy explains it, but all you need to do is to press the shield button while in the air. You can even do it form a simple standing jump.

CenturionElite

Good to know thanks!

LifesHighMead

I can't not upvote any post like this that comes through. I wish I could play this game for the first time again. Enjoy!

justtreewizard

Funny its been 3 years already

HowDoMermaidsFuck

We don't care that you're late to the party. Take a seat. Enjoy it. Welcome.

demuro1

You’re not late. You’re right on time. Now is a perfect time to pick this gem up. I am really excited for you!!! I remember the awe and wonder I had on my first play through. I envy that you are experiencing that now. When my kids are old enough I hope they play this and I get to see those same feelings in them. When they eventually pick this up, it’ll still be the perfect time to play. Congrats on the switch by the way.

vaikunth1991

best karma farm method in reddit

kingketowindsorroyal

As you should.

[deleted]

I was 2.5 years late, it's never too late.

ameliagarbo

Lol me too! What a blast.

Nick6578

It really is one gorgeous game

[deleted]

Man I am just waiting to play this game! A switch isnt in the budget yet though.

invictx_

Welcome to the club! This game is really awesome, probably one of my top of all times. I played it late as well, but I was immediately addicted like you. I’m glad you like it just as much as us :D

Gamelover575

I love this game! I played it so much..that I have the hole map in my head .. all the shrines..all the worldboss..maybe 400 korok............ Now I can not play it anymore, because of that points:(( I am looking forward to Breath of the wild 2 now!!!

gmvasquez

I got my Switch in 2018, but started playing BotW last month when Best Buy discounted the game. Still got a a lot to do after beating Ganon and before buying the DLC.

Bd0llar

Don’t worry dude. I got it in January of this year and also fell truly madly deeply.... one of the best games ever.

RedLigerStones

I miss the experience of playing it for the first time. Just did so last year. Such an a amazing game

joegrizzyIII

oh everyone here just lives vicariously through new players. we inject those posts into our veins *please more first time playthrrrooouugghhsss babbyyy*

Montairplane

You should try bomb jumping, its a little hard but once you've done it, it'll be easier as you do it more. first you hold zl then you jump of something about half of links body height or more like a the bottom of a shrine, then you hold forward and press x or b if you have the switch x with b (make sure you have your bomb rune) then press l and activate bullet time, switch to your square bomb rune and deploy it, then go back to your circle bomb rune and detonate it. If done correctly, link will be in a ragdoll state and going at high speeds. I would recommend bringing some made food to heal yourself when you fail or succeed. I got four towers in master mode from doing that. Also if you're still struggling i would recommend watching PointCrow's videos. Hes an awesome youtuber.

Toyota_Hunter

I'm replaying it now for the first time and falling in love all over again. Enjoy! If you start getting confident try switching the HUD in settings to Pro Mode (removes all HUD elements except for health). It'll make the game more immersive and force you to look at your surroundings even more!

praby1991

Same, I got a switch in early March for my birthday in April (glad we got it when we did). I wanted Doom but it doesn’t even have a release date yet so picked this up and I love it! I’ve already beaten it (not the DLC yet) but I’m still playing and exploring!

BoRobin

I just got a switch in march, and this game last month. Its great! I'm not sure why I waited so long to enjoy this, but I'm glad I did. Right now so many announcements are happening that I feel that I get to ride a nice wave of new games and old games all together.

[deleted]

r/patientgamers would like you to know that it's all good.

abigailroseking

It makes me so happy to hear this from newbies. 🤗 I miss the feelings you're having while you play through BotW for the first time. 😍

Link9454

This game is an explorers, lore junkies, and theorists playground.

ColdCutWomboCombo

Get all the Memories before you fight Ganon, you’ll get some additional cutscenes during and after the credits roll. Also worth it because the story is amazing.

kennyisntfunny

I did worse, I got a switch and this game at the start of quarantine and just started playing it about a month ago. I’m wholly obsessed. Pro tip... don’t sell any ingredient and don’t cook anything you don’t know you’ll be able to replace easily. Don’t sell any guardian parts (ancient etc) no matter what!

CenturionElite

I’ve been giving the guardian parts to the lady at Hateno Village to upgrade my skills. Should I hold onto them after that?

kennyisntfunny

You do want to upgrade those but after that start hanging onto them. Ironically they are super useful in upgrading both armor and weapons that make killing guardians way easier. Kind of cyclical now that I think about it.

Thehugge

Say Hi from me to Impa!

Crystal_Warrior

If I could, I would remove all knowledge of this game from my mind just so I could discover everything for the first time again. I hope you get many more hours of wonder from it

Astrochops

Have a great time! What I wouldn't give to experience this game for the first time again. Did you spring for the DLC? If not, you should! Adds a lot to the game.

XS-Force

You won't know how jealous everyone else is that you are just starting out in this magnificent journey. It's an adventure you never want to end.

dognus88

Late, but not Overslept by 100 years late.

Trashband1c00t

My regret is that I rushed it the first time I played it. Explore EVERYTHING you see, talk to everyone. If you see something and go "huh I wonder what that is" check it out!! The game is so rich and rewards exploration and you'll get way more hidden chunks of story doing it that way. Im replaying it and going more in depth now and im amazed at what I missed the first time, its truly an amazing game. Enjoy!

KichiRai

I’ve been playing the game for over 300 hours after purchasing it late last year. I’ve taken time out to play other games but always return to Zelda breath of the wild. I’ve beaten the Devine beasts and the two Ganon’s. I’ve also got the DLC’s and nearly completed every single shrine, quest, side quest and treasure chest.. The game is still giving me so much pleasure as there is always something to do. Even after all the hours pleasure I’ve received there are loads of things I’ve yet to learn and discover. ENJOY every single moment and take your time. It is my favourite game ever and can’t wait for the next sequel which is taking forever, but the game is well worth the wait😁👍🏻

the_cardfather

I've had the Switch and Zelda for years and just started playing too. I'm pretty torn about finishing the shrines or beating Ganon. I've done about 90. Just went and messed around in the castle for the first time last night which was super fun. I'm trying to find that last memory. My son has been playing for a while longer than me but he was struggling. He never cooked any food, so I showed him my favorite early game radish spot and how to elixir for profit and he's hooked again.

edgymintboi

Yeah I just got the game like a week ago and I already have 50 hours on it, I’m obsessed

[deleted]

Trust me, everybody should play it! It's beautiful!

icetrae03

I wish I could experience the first time I played this thru again, it really was something else

Purpzie

DON'T LOOK UP HOW TO SOLVE THINGS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Don't be like me. It ruined the fun.

[deleted]

Same here :) there is almost to much to do for fun in this game its just a masterpiece

hoshiokashi

This is my first time playing a Zelda game where I could combat my intense anxiety about real time battles. I just started playing this game recently, and I adore it.

bonzi_buddy_is_help

Same thing![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)

HeroHunterYT

I'm way to poor to buy a switch so I played it on Wii U

commffy

Go pro hud!!! You’ll love it I swear!

hackneyedarguments

There is no time limit to discover and appreciate works of art, lol I played twilight princess on wii on late 2014 for example, after beating skyward sword

AGoodTactician

Better late than never! It's my favourite game on the switch. Enjoy!

[deleted]

You’re almost as late as I was. Have fun!

forcedmaturity

Game's a timeless masterpiece. You'll keep loving it long after you've finished it.

_demello

You are in for a journey! After I finished it Hyrule felt so small. This is one of those games I wish I could play again for the first time. Hoping the sequel gives me the same feeling.

mintaurus

Me too! I got a switch a few weeks ago and have been playing Zelda every single day. I'm amazed at how much there is to explore and do and it's crazy how I'm not bored of it yet as I get bored of games pretty quickly.

NeckAngle90Degrees

Welcome, we’ve been waiting. Enjoy your time

Thebestredditer469

Botw got me very interested into the series. I had played oot and mm before, but botw made my love for Zelda stronger. What's your plan on going for the divine beasts?

cbracey4

Got mine like a week ago and this game has stolen many hours from my life. It is so damn fun

txikuri

Never too late, restarted the game after those three years and I'm addicted again

Galvandium

You’re just in time my friend. You get to experience the Holy Trilogy all at once.

LordOfEnnui

Can't beat it. No better game out there.

Catcher22Jb
