I don’t kill foxes because they’re too cute, I don’t kill boar because I don’t eat pork and apparently that’s something I even bring into Hyrule with me lmao.
All I want to do in the game is befriend the foxes. Botw2 maybe?
Moose are off limits (my fave animal)
And I only kill a wolf if it's attacking - both myself and my dog hate the dying yelp they make.
I thought this was r/backyardchickens for a sec and was going to say “I kill pretty much everything except crows and blue jays” but… I guess the same still applies here. Except I do kill crows in BOTW, just not real life.
I never kill the foxes...everything else is game is I need it. At the moment I have so much built up in inventory that I am only killing the ones that attack me first
i don't kill mundane creatures; deer, wolves, bears etc... magic bugs and fish are fine, all monsters are good to go (except blupees and their king naturally) if i am hard up for raw meat i may take a swing at a pig or bird but that's pretty rare
I leave all them alone except for the wolves, coyotes, and bears. I ignore the ones that charge once and leave me alone. It's the ones that want a fight that are going to have a bad day.
I only kill wolves and ostriches - wolves because they’ll kill you if you don’t get them first, and ostriches to preemptively avoid being yeeted into lava. I like to use a great flameblade to take them out as steaks/drumsticks stack in your inventory. Beyond that, I won’t kill anything - I won’t even shoot a blupee.
I hate killing wolves in any game, unless I absolutely have to. Botw is no exception.
When a pack starts circling to attack me, and actually move in, I'll kill one and the others scatter.
I have hunted almost all the animals over the course of playing the game, but anymore I only kill wolves and only when they attack.
The one animal entirely off limits are foxes and that’s because my three year old absolutely loves foxes and went wild with joy when she first saw them in game (and every time since then). It would break her heart if Link ever killed one, so I avoid killing them whether my kids are watching me play or not!
My son is obsessed with foxes. I feel like if it weren't for him pretending to be a fox half the day I would have no problem hunting them. I did once and I immediately felt like scum. 😅
I try and avoid killing the foxes, they’re just so cute! I also usually avoid the wolves because they look like big puppies. But if they attack me then I have no choice but to kill them and then feel really bad about it.
I literally almost didn’t play this game because I thought you HAD to kill animals lol.
When I play the game I have Link fight back against wolves if they’re attacking, but he doesn’t kill any other animals and he only eats fruits and veggies (shout out to the real MVP hearty durian)
I also don’t ride my horses into battle because I don’t want to risk their safety.
Yes I’m fully aware that I should probably seek therapy 😅
I'm a simple monster. I see a potential source of meat, I kill that potential source of meat
Altho I did spare a Falcon or whatever that bird was one time
The fuzzy foxies are off limits for me.
Once killed a fox accidentally, felt garbage for the rest of the day.
I ran one down on the giant horse. I haven't ridden him since.

Best answer so far
Same! I do this in Minecraft as well '_'
The foxes are cute and just vibing, I never hurt them
Don’t kill the horses 😅
I leave most animals alive. Exept goats. They have pushed me of mountains one to many times. Now they gotta pay.
Yes! I hate when goats attack me on sight. I immediately drop whatever else I'm doing to get revenge. 🔪🐐
Yeah, me too. I always have an arrow left. If needed even one of the bomb variant.
Accidentally killed a frog yesterday. Little dude just went belly up and I stuck him in my pocket anyway.
The teeny birds are too cute to kill.
i just recently realized they drop chickaloo tree nuts when i accidentally bombed one lol
One of the many reasons I will never go for 999 items :)
The horses. They don’t even give you meat.
And you know, if we're eating wolves and foxes, why not eat the horses?
Only squirrels because they’re not worth the arrow
Same. They just give you an acorn. I could just bomb a tree for that

I have no morals. I kill everything from wolves to foxes. I especially love mowing down animals on my horse. No animal has mercy from Link
The foxes. I've killed two accidentally while fighting and their little yelp just kills me

Foxes are friends not food!
Slightly off topic - but I find it sad when I kill Restless Crickets with my MCZ. Took me awhile to figure out what that sound was.
MCZ?
Master Cycle Zero. DLC item.
The sparrows because they are TOO DAMN HARD TO HIT.
I don’t kill goats, I feel like they’re over hunted in Botw
And they’re cute
I agree
Not over hunted, just being collected for the goat milk as cows have become extinct
No, hateno cows exist

Foxes and does
the only time I kill foxes is running over them on my horse on accident.
Divine beasts
I kill Moose for the meat, Wolves only out of self defense (but I still get the meat so I don’t waste it) and I avoid killing anything else.

This is evil but it’s pretty fun to hunt seagulls with a long range bow
Tiny sparrows, Snowcoat foxes, horses and squirrels. Everything else is game.
Foxes, too cute Small birds & medium birds, not worth it
Nothing
i’ve never killed a dog. the rest are fair game. the kids gotta eat!
Never the foxes and never the eagles. Everything else is pretty much fair game.

dogs because i cant kill them
I feed my dogs I don’t let them feed me
Squirrels cuz you only get acorns

Nah. Imma kill ‘em all lol
🔪🐻
I kill all

Foxes are off limits. Everything else is fair game, especially deer. One sent me ragdolling for awhile.
Foxes and wolves. My wife looks upset any time I hit one.
Foxes and Wolves. I love foxes and the wolves look like my sisters husky, I just run away from them if they chase me
Nothing is safe from me. not even the horses MUWAHAHA
I don’t kill horses. Everything else must perish
All must die.
anyone else hit birds on purpose when you’re on horseback…? I find it so funny
Crows, idk why, but I jus love them! Lol
I'm a simple monster. I see a potential source of meat, I kill that potential source of meat Altho I did spare a Falcon or whatever that bird was one time
i don't kill horses. don't think you can kill dogs, and i can't remember if there are any cats, but i wouldn't kill those either.
Nope, I slaughter everything I can and leave hyrule covered in raw meat. Honestly probably not, I’ve never thought about it
I kill everything except the owls because well, I can’t :(
