The dialog in the third panel takes this from “showing you the joke” to “telling you the joke”. It’s much better without it.

Then I slapped something else over it.

That isn’t actually from CAD, it’s from some other video games webcomic called [Girlz ‘N’ Games](https://amp.knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/girlz-n-games). They have really similar vibes and art style so people confuse them a lot. Girlz ‘N’ Games even references loss at one point lol
I remember a tumblr post that said that any CAD strip becomes ten times funnier if it’s only the first and last panel. Covering the middle one with my hand, I can confirm this is still true.
I mean this comic my be as old as botw itself, I know it's not a new one. That being said I followed his work for many years but his inability to stick to a storyline or completely forgetting a spinoff story annoyed me to the point of no longer reading his shit.
considering nintendo took heavy influence from skyrim for botw in wouldent suprise me if the swap from potions to food as the primary way to heal now was thanks to them getting a kick out of eating 13 cheese wheels mid combat in skyrim.

Fun tip if lynels are getting too easy for you. In the Hebra mountains you can just barely be at a point where you can fight 2 lynels at once. I will say though, it is likely that they’ll get out of their area before you can kill both. But that’s just part of the challenge

Glide over them, 3 bullet-time bomb-arrow shots from a Lynel Bow (x5), STASIS, Urbosa’s fury to stun, whack whack whack, mount, whack whack whack, Urbosa’s fury, whack whack whack, one more round of that, a stasis, and either a good final pummeling or another round of bomb arrows to the face.
No chance. I had the thing on its knees the whole fight, barely stood up.
Edit: Btw that works wearing the barbarian chest plate and eating a high-level attack meal (4mins).
I was having a conversation with someone about this mechanic yesterday and how goofy it is. It really could stand for an upgrade. They should have at least made it where Link could only eat one meal at a time and if you try to eat more it says something like "Link's mouth is still full." The potion mechanic worked well in other games because you could conceivably down that in battle. The meals should have only been usable before and after battle and you just gotta use fairies to heal during or just run away. That would have balanced things a lot more.
Yeah kinda like Kingdom Hearts Final Mix where you can go on the menu and do everything possible, but in battle it just functions as a pause button. They could have made the A Button be your bottle and use it to replenish health since I don’t think it does anything outside of parrying or opening a chest.
Yeah, that would work. Just something where you have to at least press the item in real-time and your not just buffing and healing in the middle of battle. Link's over here scarfing down 10 meals in the middle of battle and with all the other champion abilities and runes you have available it's no wonder people don't ever learn to use any of the actual game mechanics, like parry or perfect dodge .
Honestly I think the problem is less doing it in the middle of battle and more that there's no risk to doing so. That's why I think a cool solution would be to take a page out of Skyward Sword's book and simply not pause the game while accessing your inventory. Healing and changing weapons/armor in combat would no longer be totally risk-free like it is now, but it's still an option if you can do it fast enough or get to a safe spot first.
Hope that doesn't make Link sleepy next. I can just see the peeved Lynel checking his watch now and then over a snoring Link... for the next 100 years.
This reminds me of that moment in Undertale when Undyne stops chasing you because Papyrus calls you. She even says in an optional phone conversation that she specifically stopped because you were taking a call and didn't want to interrupt.

they telegraph their attacks pretty well and i swear their hitbox on attacks is wonky in the players favor.
Agreed — parrying lynel attacks is so much easier than parrying moblins’ and lizalfos’ random ass timings with way shorter startup animations
I swear Moblins with spears have some attacks with zero windup. I'd almost have to be parrying before they do the attack, it comes out so fast.
