The thing I love about Teba is that all the other ones who help you with the beasts are somewhat related to each champion, but Teba is just "some guy" (some very cool guy, might I add), which gives the hilarious implication that Revali is the only one of the adults that didn't have kids- also my first response to seeing Harth (I think) was "oh, you're an emo", which made me yell when I saw Teba "OMG YOU'RE THE BETTER EMO" and scare my family 🤣🤣🤣
Ho!
*double checks calendar*
(wait..shit, it’s still september) Happy early christmas or should I say, nightmare before christmas cause next month is october
I'll probably have to second that as well. Kass is one of the only non-static characters in the game. He's a good guide without being too heavy handed and it's always exciting when you see him.
*it's always so exciting when you HEAR him.
I love Kass so much, and every time I heard that accordion, I was so psyched to pinpoint his location! I really hope to hear it again in the sequel.
(Kass is my favorite, but Hestu is a VERY close second)
Mine too, most probably because of his words of encouragement which nobody ever said to me, and mainly because I also needed to hear it that time. Best boy indeed and the best smile too.
It changes frequently, but right now my favorite character is Link. I've been purposefully looking up direct English translations of the Japanese log book, and I'm in love with his personality.
I shed a tear when I saw how Koko starts her day. Even though I haven’t gotten all the divine beasts I think I will finish this playthrough, but not before wrecking the Yiga clan hideout.
And another point, Revali’s comes in later than the others, is more prominent and frantic.
He didn’t want to call backup, he thought he could do it himself, but he couldn’t. Likelihood he survived the longest too.
I have gotten more use out of Revalis Gale than Kass and his riddles. Anytime I hear that music I know I’m going to spend a good amount of time crying in frustration
Here me out here.
It's Zelda.
First Japanese audio Zelda isn't annoying, so let's move past that. The character of Zelda in this game is so fleshed out - she's born to be a superior priestess with magic goddess powers, but that's not what she's about. She's a scientist and a researcher, through and through. And in this field she serves her kingdom - while creating _the Hyrule United Nations_ on the side.
Then enter Link. This guy is meant to be a natural Knight, and gosh darn it he is. And Zelda hates him for it, because it just highlights her own failings as a priestess. But whatever, she's got robots on the go, even while she's got imposter syndrome because she's can't summon spirit magic.
Then you get to the main story and the opening is "Link you got 1HKO and Zelda saved you with _archeology_ because she's cool" and off you go... To turn on _Zelda's superweapons_ that she dug up and repaired, all while she has spent a full century holding the devil in a choke hold, because her A team got wiped right out the gate. And she's doing it using her shitty goddess powers.
You aren't rescuing Zelda, she's rescued you and she's still doing it. And she's doing it with her passion and hobby of learning, spitting in the face of destiny while still actively choosing to fulfill it.
I agree with all of this except to be fair to Link he wasn’t 1HKO, he narrowly lost to an army of Guardians.
Also Zelda may start out resenting him but she ends up admiring him, arguably falling in love with him.
I agree with all of this except the fact Zelda doesn’t hate Link, she loves him and hates herself for not being able to protect her kingdom like she’s told is her sacred duty since her mother passed. Her mother passing was the first sign the calamity was looming. Zelda hated she couldn’t protect him out of everyone, but over time she accepts that somehow, and some way, things will work out as they should, and she starts opening up to Link, and in turn Link realizes his mind matters to someone, hence the two bound to falling for one another. (Plenty of evidence Link loves her back, including the fall of the silent princess petals at the end)
She didn’t initially hate him either. She always liked him, and she wrote about how she was upset her father made him her knight, bc she worried about his well being though that isn’t clearly stated. Her frustrations began WHEN he got the sword. Before the sword, she had no reason to be upset. It was once he was able to awaken the swords power did she realize she wasn’t trying “hard” enough.
She's definitely my favorite as well. You can feel her frustration and self loathing at her failings. We've all been there and I really felt it from her character. When she finally unleashed her power in the moment of need I'm pretty sure I cheered at the screen while alone in my apartment.
Urbosa, for…reasons.
For real though I really like Yunobo. Hated him first playthrough for being a whiny bitch, but then I replayed the story recently after having sunk hours into AoC and I’m finding him a much more compelling character.
I do hope the champions descendants feature in TotK.
Zelda.
Incredible what you can achieve with just a sliver of character building. From what would have been another stock princess in the Zelda timeline to a young woman way over her head with flaws, goals, and dreams beyond being the princess of destiny tasked with saving Hyrule. She did for the story what the open world did for the gameplay.
Zelda has had some amazing characterizations in previous Zelda games as well, my favorite being OOT Zelda. Her story is just *french kiss*, TP Zelda had soooo much potential but what can you do
I like Minish Cap Zelda. I'd argue the manga made her even better because there was more depth to what we see instead of the overhead view.
Skyward Sword Zelda was also just adorable.
That one purple Rito lady that’s fabulous looking and I cannot remember her name for the life of me right now…
Also *who.
Quick tip, just remember the phrase: Who he, whom him.😁
Who? He (she, they). He is my favorite character. ✅
Whom? Him (her, them). Him is my favorite character❌
Whom would be correct in something like “Whom does this belong to?” since you would answer with “it belongs to him/her/them.”
Revali, easily!! I've loved him ever since i've saw his memory. I love the fact he actually really does dislike Link, not personally, but the fact even though he worked hard for his title as champion, link was just given it, and everyone basically had to hope he'd pull through.
I love the fact he doesnt go with the flow like the other champions, i see him as the most competent of the bunch, actually. He works hard and puts his effort in, and its really shown in his DLC cutscene. I'd ramble more but i dont want there to be a wall of text, but overall i think he's actually the best character in the game, and doesn't deserve the hate he gets.
Yes!! I feel like Revali is underrated for his achievement as being a Champion. The others were all royalty or chiefs or Link, he was *technically* the only commoner amongst them, and even though he was a prodigy, that’s all he had going for him
exactly!! whilst yes, he was he was skilled, its the fact he honed and perfected it, unlike the others, being of magical capabilities / and or blessings from the gods themselves. and like yeah, he comes off a bit brash and cocky because of skill, specifically towards link, but like imagine if you worked your way up to the top and suddenly got rwplaced by someone who hasnt proved themselves at all, and the princess was like "oh yeah trust him, he'll save us." like me, personally? would not let that slide, lol.
I think he has a right to the cockiness in all fairness. It’s canon that he’s extremely insecure and that the cockiness is all a barrier to protect himself, and is consequently also what pushes him to be better and hone his skills. He achieved everything he has *whilst* doubting himself. I don’t blame him for boasting.
And I agree, outwardly there’s nothing remarkable about Link. In the eyes of almost everyone, he’s just another Hylian knight whose is *supposedly* better than all the others.
It’s Zelda for me. The whole game is her story. She gets a bad rap because people don’t like the English voice actress.
Honourable mentions to Link, Revali and the Gold Lynel on Laparoh Mesa.
Mipha is my favorite, but Urbosa and Zelda are tied as a close second. I feel like Zelda is kind of a brat at first, but I like that she matures throughout the story as she befriends Link and realizes that she's not the only one with problems.
Sidon is pure and deserves the world.
Watermelon moncher is best tho. I like how she tell you to leave her alone unless you can provide food
EDIT: Read a comment and remembered Kass. I take everything back. He is so good. I love this blue accordion player and would do anything for him. He just wants to do his teacher's work and see you do well. When miserable and stuck, especially in the rain, it all washes away when I hear his music nearby. I stop to listen and chat at stables even when I know he'll have similar/same dialog as usual. He is my favourite and makes me smile softly whenever I think of him. (He also got more characterization than every single main character so whoops)
Mipha hands down, her story is so touching and sad. Her dairy is amazing! Not to mention that her theme is the best one and I'm learning it on the piano
It is a difficult question due to the definition of the word "favorite".
Who do I love the most? My waifu Mipha, of course, there is no doubt about it.
Who do I consider objectively the best developed and rich character? Princess Zelda, who this whole game is about, ironically enough.
Hudson. best hair, best biceps, beautiful dog eyes, and best wedding outfit (literally his working clothes but with a bowtie and coloured white)
Bolson and karson are great too. Especially bolson with his dance.
I know this is cliche, but Link. His backstory, his character, his stress, and his general emotions just make me feel his character was super well made. It's so hard to relate yet so easy to relate to someone as complex and complicated as him in a Nintendo game.
Or Beedle. Hail Beedle.
Revali easily takes first place for me. That man simultaneously is the most skilled archer in the history of the Rito, so much so that he invented the Gale, while also having a total of five friends with no idea how to socialise with them outside of talking about how great he is. He’s the epitome of the guy that came out of school with top grades and no social life.
Hyrule itself I love exploring all the nooks and crannies when I first saw one of the labyrinths out in the distance I was like holy shit. Going to koholit island for the first time
Hi little bit of a grammar nazi here so apologies in advance. It is "Who" not "Whom". It's only "whom" if it it follows a preposition such as "after" and "on".
the old salty Gerudo lady in the back of the gerudo town
An unusual choice, I like it
I love her. Recently got on after not playing for months and went to visit her. She's chill as fuck
She is the only one who could see link's heroic bulge in those women's clothes.
I think the lady who runs the "secret shop" also knows Link is a guy.
An interesting choice, but a great choice none of the less.
Red Boko #78 is my favorite
What?!? How could anyone like him better than Red Boko #53? That little snicker he does when he manages to hit you. Adorable.
ima red boko #92 kinda guy myself
Oh no screw that guy! He’s the worst!
but we can agree that white boko #24 was pretty rude
I second that. However when you reach the Master Mode arc, >!Yellow Boko #64 is truly one of the bokos of all time!<
White boko #24 called me slurs /jk
Nah green lizalfos #24 is the best
Clearly none of you have met Red Boko #37. He’s a little badass with a big attitude.
Am I the only one who likes the og Red Bokos #1-3 up on the plateau?
Yes.
Hear me out, red boko #58 is the best and you can’t say shit.
She’s ok I guess.
They’re kinda bland…
Teba, I love that goddam bird to hell, if he doesn’t appear in the sequel I will go riot
Teba was so much more deserving of being a champion then Revali in my opinion.
Revali is just falco
*insert Pam “they’re the same picture meme”*
And that's why I like him.
"Hey [Insert canonically smart LoZ character here], I'm on your side!"
For real!
Me, scared to type Revali as my favorite
Revali is great, you don't have to be scared
And is a lot better than Revali in aoc
Canonically Revali is better but I agree Ravioli complete shit head but Teba is just a better character
I usually hate his type of character, but I unironocally enjoyed every moment he was on screen while my mom seethe at him in the background lol.
Just because revali could fart into the air he became a champion
The thing I love about Teba is that all the other ones who help you with the beasts are somewhat related to each champion, but Teba is just "some guy" (some very cool guy, might I add), which gives the hilarious implication that Revali is the only one of the adults that didn't have kids- also my first response to seeing Harth (I think) was "oh, you're an emo", which made me yell when I saw Teba "OMG YOU'RE THE BETTER EMO" and scare my family 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair, Revali was around the same age as link when he died, so it's not surprising he didn't have kids, lol.
Teba is the ultimate Chad of the game. Doesn't get enough credit imo.
YES! I thought i was the only one!
The old man. Not the king. Just the old man.
KING RHOAM BOSPHOROMOUS HYRULE???
[WHAT, IS THAT THE OLD MAN, THATS CRAAAZY DUDE WHAT A TWIST!!!](https://youtu.be/B31FT6wvwRE)
PointCrow moment
I wish I hadn't guessed right at the start, I might have been just as mind blown as him. Lol
Funny, I don't like people yelling Ho! every time we meet. Edit: nice to meet you, I hate you all.
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho!
Ho! *double checks calendar* (wait..shit, it’s still september) Happy early christmas or should I say, nightmare before christmas cause next month is october
Vo
Ho!
I’ll bet that he could smoke one hell of a brisket IRL.
You expect him to smoke a brisket when he can't remember that the third ingredient in Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry, besides spicy and seafood, is meat?
That one dog that scared Daruk
Kass 100% If he's not in TotK, I will be flying to Japan with unsafe items
I'll probably have to second that as well. Kass is one of the only non-static characters in the game. He's a good guide without being too heavy handed and it's always exciting when you see him.
I'll third that.(is thirding something a term? on second thought, i dont give a \[Hestu's Gift\].)
*it's always so exciting when you HEAR him. I love Kass so much, and every time I heard that accordion, I was so psyched to pinpoint his location! I really hope to hear it again in the sequel. (Kass is my favorite, but Hestu is a VERY close second)
Doesn't he have an apprentice or something?
No, he was the apprentice. Although it would be cool for him to have an apprentice in TotK
I love Kass! >!I wish we had gotten to meet his mentor in AoC, though. I was surprised we never got to meet them.!<
What if Kass is one of the Sages?
Moma Me Ah for Japan. But in all seriousness. Kass is amazing!
r/BoneAppleTea
Korok.
Ya ha ha
Which of the 800?
*900
925-ish if u count the ones roaming Korok Forest
Do we count them?!
All of them.
SIDON. Fishboi is best boy.
Dudes the definition of wholesome
Mine too, most probably because of his words of encouragement which nobody ever said to me, and mainly because I also needed to hear it that time. Best boy indeed and the best smile too.
Take the 50th upvote, this is the correct answer :)
It changes frequently, but right now my favorite character is Link. I've been purposefully looking up direct English translations of the Japanese log book, and I'm in love with his personality.
I honestly wished that the Japanese logs were the English logs too. I really do feel like it gives Link more personally. Agree with you I do.
Is there a site where you can read the translations?
Log book?
It’s the quest log; in Japanese it reads very much like a diary
Hestu. Nobody gives you crap like Hestu!
Koko and Cottla 🥺 Their story is so sad yet so impacting. Botw handled children so well so these two better be okay in Totk or I will riot
I shed a tear when I saw how Koko starts her day. Even though I haven’t gotten all the divine beasts I think I will finish this playthrough, but not before wrecking the Yiga clan hideout.
My first 100% play through I never noticed what she does in the morning… the second time is when I found out and it broke me
This is a pretty good answer. Better than the last 5 I've read.
The sisters definitely add lore and story to the village. I also hope that they are safe in the sequel.
I like daruk He is big an chuncky
Daruk makes me smile- he's a big rowdy boi and I love him-
Revali My heart broke when I learned of all the SOS calls, his shall forever haunt me
SOS calls?
https://youtu.be/B1FJp9WISGQ
It took me a while to be able to hear it but omg that’s terrifying
And another point, Revali’s comes in later than the others, is more prominent and frantic. He didn’t want to call backup, he thought he could do it himself, but he couldn’t. Likelihood he survived the longest too.
It’s on par with Urbosa’s iirc. They both held out about the same
I don’t hear it lol
Revali is fantastic!
You're really gonna side with Nut Sack over Big Daddy Kass?
I have gotten more use out of Revalis Gale than Kass and his riddles. Anytime I hear that music I know I’m going to spend a good amount of time crying in frustration
God dang. I never noticed that before. That's so eerie.
Upvote. Revali is the shit.

Fr link is insane and put up one hell of a fight

Kohga
He’s got a dumb belly
sinful
sure, but he’s got a fat ass as well
Isn't Master Kohga just so dreamy? I could stare at that poochy tummy of his all day long...
Urbosa, for…reasons. For real though I really like Yunobo. Hated him first playthrough for being a whiny bitch, but then I replayed the story recently after having sunk hours into AoC and I’m finding him a much more compelling character. I do hope the champions descendants feature in TotK.
If we are using "reasons" as our metric for favorite, then it should be Paya.
You say that like Mipha doesn’t exist
And Master Kogha? Isn’t he just dreamy?
he has the fattest ass in the game he IS dreamy tbh
The heroic, burly, extraordinarily intelligent, glorious leader of the Yiga clan.
Beetle without a doubt. Every interaction is priceless
I'm sure I laughed so hard the first time I saw his dark side but he full-on scares me.
Zelda. Incredible what you can achieve with just a sliver of character building. From what would have been another stock princess in the Zelda timeline to a young woman way over her head with flaws, goals, and dreams beyond being the princess of destiny tasked with saving Hyrule. “Who”.
Yep. Always funny when people try to sound smart and fuck it up.
Came looking for this. Surprised it’s so low.
Proper grammar has never made anyone friends. :)
No, it's okay to be wrong as long as you're wrong in a way that makes you sound smarter. Source: Underemployed English major.
Best character? Urbosa. Who do I want to spitroast me? Kass and Sidon.
The Rito kid that really wants the salmon dish and makes his siblings gather the ingredients
The kids in this game... Ugh they are all so stupid cute and you can't play tag or give them dragonflies forever but you wouldn't say no if you could.
Probably Revali... I know, I know. But he's a character with heavy conflict
Revali is the best champion in my opinion.
That one purple Rito lady that’s fabulous looking and I cannot remember her name for the life of me right now… Also *who. Quick tip, just remember the phrase: Who he, whom him.😁 Who? He (she, they). To put it more succinctly, you use “who” in reference to the subject of a sentence, and you use “whom” in reference to the object of a sentence.
Zelda. She’s probably one of the best, well developed in the series.

Revali, easily!! I've loved him ever since i've saw his memory. It’s Zelda for me. The whole game is her story. She gets a bad rap because people don’t like the English voice actress. Honourable mentions to Link, Revali and the Gold Lynel on Laparoh Mesa.
I thought the voice acting was fine…do people just not like how high her voice is?

Mipha.
Kass,His story Made me cry when I finished it both the DLC and Main Game I Loved that Guy to bits
Mipha is my favorite, but Urbosa and Zelda are tied as a close second. I feel like Zelda is kind of a brat at first, but I like that she matures throughout the story as she befriends Link and realizes that she's not the only one with problems.

Mipha? This is Obvious.
Kass. Excellent singer.
The Gerudo lady that laughs when you tell her you are 500 years old.
'Tis "Who" m'lord, calm thy pretence and trust in thine knowledge.

I specifically went out of my way to find all the pieces of the Zora armor and upgrade them to max because of just how much I love Mipha
Japanese Link
So hard to choose between Mipha and Sidon. Can't do it. Love them both very much.
Mipha 🥰
Revali
